Found out this is the only First Watch location in all of Louisiana, which is insane. This restaurant is only open for breakfast, brunch and lunch. I have had all three. I normally dine in and the food is great but what im here for is the fresh juice they make. Service is usually quick if its not super packed. Today i ordered a doordash order and was disappointed with my morning meditation. I asked for no ice and it came in a small kids cup. So i called the restaurant and asked why is my drink so small and he said thats what he was told to do. The purpose of me saying no ice is to get my $4.39 worth of juice im paying for and not some watered down drink.... Food was great once you actually receive it. Farmhouse fresh was a good combination of flavors, biscuits and gravy was amazing, and the salmon Benedict was flavorful but not very hot. Service is mediocre. They are way understaffed for breakfast hours. One person to seat and serve. The waitress, whom I am guessing showed up late, got onto the opener because he was trying to make sure everyone was being taken care of. Such a cute restaurant. Like a breath of fresh air. Different and trendy. We were seated immediately and drink orders taken a minute later. I love the food here. Super fresh, colorful food, and always changing specials. The drawback is its always crowded!! you can use the no wait app to get in line, but your still going to wait. We literally spent 1 hour sitting down for an hour while we watch other people sit down and finish their food. The only reason why the get a second star is because I like the food. I had a great experience here. The food was very good. I love the amount of healthy options here that most places in the south don't have. Food was great, drinks were great, service was great. I had a truffle mushroom frittata and a kale tonic and my wife and I shared a pecan pancake. I enjoyed every bit of it. It's not mind blowing but it is a great every day breakfast/brunch spot. I have been wanting to visit First Watch, even though the reviews were mixed. I have seen that it's often packed out the doors, so that spoke volumes. I went today with my two young daughters. My 4yo wanted avocado toast, which I ordered. The price was a bit steep at almost $10 for a piece of toast and two eggs, but she loved it and we were thrilled to find somewhere that offered avocado toast for her. I had the green chili and chorizo omelet, which was absolutely phenomenal. I chose the potatoes instead of the dressed salad, at the recommendation of the server, and they were delicious. The PICO and the fresh jam for the toast were also good. My toddler got the kids fresh fruit crepe. It was also wonderful. So much so that my older daughter and I couldn't quit "helping" her eat it. It took a long time to come out, but I didn't complain. They removed it off my bill owning up to it taking too long. That impressed me. Our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Chile' Chorizo and hubby ordered the Elote Mexican Corn Hash. Both were good , the hash was better seasoned than the chorizo. The only thing I felt could have been better were the potatoes. They needed seasoning and I like mine kinda crunchy. These were soft and bland. Food is delicious & fresh, servers were kind but very 'scattered' in the sense that they had no real direction of how to be servers. We came on a Tuesday at 12:45pm. Was sat at table for over 10 minutes before one of the nine people walking by stopped to ask if we wanted something to drink. The table comes set with empty coffee cups and empty water glasses, however, our server took our water glasses and never brought us the water pitcher that every table in this restaurant has sitting on the table. I want to reiterate that the server, when they came by, was kind but there is no helping each other out in this establishment. So many times I saw folks going in/out of kitchen for one thing for one table, just to see them run right back around for something for the next table. The quality of the food here has been going downhill. We used to come here quite often. I thought to take my family here, bad idea. Our food was way over cooked. An Eggs Benedict is supposed to be a poached egg, not hard boiled. They got this wrong on both of our orders. We also ordered a Roast Beef sandwich, horseradish supposed to be on the side - they forget it. We had also ordered million dollar bacon, it was burnt. Update: as I was writing this they brought me out "poached eggs". Guess what, overcooked again. See the picture. I had my first experience at this restaurant last Friday. The food was amazing, the service was outstanding, and the all over experience was phenomenal. I ordered the smoked salmon & roasted vegetable frittata, and the jump start drink, Purple Haze. Everything was extremely delicious. This place is in a shopping mall and a chain but you wouldn't know it. The pancakes, bacon and sunny side up eggs were so good. It's been hard to find good food here in Shreveport, but we ordered a few things and have no complaints. The BLT eggs Benedict was so delicious, the Hollandaise sauce was lemony and tasty, and the side salad made the meal not too heavy. My nephew ordered the biscuits and gravy, potatoes and scrambled eggs. The gravy was a little salty but complimented the eggs and potatoes nicely. Don't skip on the potatoes, they were almost the best thing we ordered, but it's hard to say because the pancakes were a close second. When we walked up, there was one table occupied outdoors. A young couple with their dog. The dog had a paper water bowl. I thought it was considerate. The curb appeal was underwhelming and I had my reservations about the inside. Upon entering those reservations were dispelled. The place was bustling with activity and full of young (presumably college) students. We ordered coffee, and a pot was left at the table along with a carafe of water. This certainly cuts down on you need to have a server check on you every other minute. That became problematic for me later. I ordered the Cornbread Carnitas Bowl- it came with poached eggs and I meant to request them fried. I had to flag down someone to cook my eggs. And the water from the poaching liquid muddled the flavors in my meal. Another disappointing issue were the under ripe avocado- hard a apples.
