I went to a first watch location in South Carolina and absolutely loved it so went here thinking that it would be a similar experience. I was extremely wrong. The wait was super long. We put our name on the list online and it said a 35 to 50 minute wait. When we got there it had already been 30 minutes and they told us it would be an additional 30 minutes so in total it was an hour wait. Also, when I walked in, I got the vibe that the hostess was stressed out because she did not even look at me. She was really frazzled and looking down at her iPad and didn't even notice that there was a customer standing right in front of her. It actually started to get very awkward because she wasn't looking up at all. Note to the business to have someone who is greeting customers and actively attending to them when they walk in even if it is just put their name on the list or give them an update on where they they are in line. Once we finally got seated we placed our order, and our order came out in batches. Our waters took a little bit of time to come out. Then there was another round probably 10 min later with the rest of the drinks.!Thankfully, we did get an order of pancakes out pretty quickly. The rest of the food took a little bit of extra time to come out after that. Our waitress was really friendly so that was a plus and she was super attentive. As far as the food goes, I would say that it was lacking in flavor and just didn't seem to hit the spot for any of the items that we ordered. I ordered the egg sandwich, blueberry pancakes, and the watermelon wake me up juice. The pancakes were ok, but the syrup was not warm syrup and even though we ordered blueberry pancakes it didn't seem to have a lot of blueberry flavor. Also, The egg sandwich probably should've come with a different type of cheese because it tasted super bland with just the avocado egg and cheese. I don't think I would be back to this location, but I would be willing to give one more try and maybe just order a different dish but only because the experience I had in South Carolina was really good read more

Came here on Black Friday. I had the Bacodo Omelette, hashbrowns, & some toast with a tasty adult beverage that I can't remember the name of - it was pomegranate based. The toast was stiff as cardboard, but everything else was up to par. Our waitress was sweet and the food was decent, but the wait was something else. As to be expected in these times, they were short staff and I noticed other patrons looking around for service/food too...bless it. I came here for brunch and I wasn't impressed. I ordered the pesto quinoa bowl, a lemon ricotta pancake, and the morning meditation drink. I couldn't eat the pesto bowl. The sauce by itself tasted great but the quinoa or something they added to the dish tasted off/dirty and ruined the meal. I didn't eat it...The lemon ricotta pancake was unique, I liked it but the curd is a lot so if you don't like the taste of lemon this isn't for you. Get the morning meditation drink, it's refreshing and tastes great. Overall, I wouldn't come back here. Their reservation policy is difficult for no reason to eat mediocre food. You can join their waitlist but it's not a reservation. So even if you put your name down hours before, they won't officially add you to the queue until you arrive, but they don't tell you this. Instead you receive a text that says they'll text you when your table is ready. My sister lives 5 mins away from this establishment and we put our name down early in the morning expecting to receive a text when our table was ready, however, when we got there and checked in 2 hours later they told us they now added us to the list and we need to wait another 1-2 hours before being seated. We also attempted to to call before coming here to ask how long the wait is to decide if we wanted to eat here and they wouldn't tell us. They said they couldn't disclose the information over the phone and you had to come in to find out!? So they want you to drive there so you'll have no other choice but to eat there...overall that's just very sketchy and not the type of business I want to support. From what I remember the service is good but I haven't had a dine-in experience since Covid-19 came and "subsided" or doesn't get reported anymore. Took the advice of fellow Yelpers and gave this place a try on the way to the airport. We were NOT disappointed! I had the avocado toast. At first, I was a tad disappointed when my plate came out because the avocado was mashed not sliced BUT after my first bite I was blown away. The toast was a nice multigrain bread that added just the right amount of texture. That along with the mashed avocado was PERFECT. My son had smoked salmon frittata. We had to google what that was, turns out it was a fluffy omelet. It was LOADED with salmon! I also tried one of their fresh fruit drinks. The name escapes me but it was delicious. We ended up waiting an hour and 40 minutes just for them to give us a rushed and barely cooked meal and close the kitchen 10 minutes later. The staff was extremely rude and pushy. They were over packed and still taking customers and lying about how long the wait is. If they are busy, they will tell you a 30-50 min wait then add another 30 to it, then seat you 30 mins to closing, then give you some flash cooked but still frozen food. One of the hostess' raised her voice at me for just asking why I was taken off the waiting list when I was waiting for an hour and a half. Potatoes are unevenly cooked - burnt potatoes mixed with fresh/undercooked ones. Cold brew is watered down... Poached eggs are unevenly cooked- 2 eggs with 1 runny and 1 hard. Nothing tells me about this restaurant that it's worth the wait.... Maybe it's better when you go during the less busy hours? :/ read more

I'm not join yo complain about the 1 hour wait we had today cause it's NYD and we expected post boozy brunch crowds, but the poor kitchen performance, burnt skillet or imposter cuisine I couldn't keep to myself. For $70 I shouldn't have my dish (the "special" South Seoul Skillet) come out 10 minutes before my kids and husbands. Restaurant 101: If you can't course and serve a table at the same time you let them know upfront or you heat lamp the fish. My husbands skillet was burnt- so badly that our server (who was awesome and apologetic hence the only stars) asked if he wanted to take it back. After an hour to sit and 30 min food wait he was hungry he ate it charred. My "special" that listed ingredients like, Kimchi, was a glorified skillet with sesame seeds and scallions. What Korean dish has cheddar cheese?! The pork slices were as hard as jerky and just overall unappetizing. Lesson learned, always place yourself on the wait list ahead of time. There is always a wait. If you go to the website, you'll see an option for wait list. Use it!! There is always a wait here when I go. Anyway, this restaurant is located in Smyrna in Ivy Walk shopping center with a few other businesses and restaurants like Muss and Turner. This place only serves breakfast and lunch closing at 230pm. It is easy to find. There is free parking but you may have to wait. Popular little spot so may have to drive around for parking. Parking can be a problem. Joined wait list and then jumped in the car, when we arrived we were told be 20 minutes. Lady before us was told an hour. So definitely use the wait list app!! We went back to the car to wait as the only seating to wait was outside benches. Not bad when the weather is nicer. It was a bit chilly. We got a text notification when the table was ready. We were seated in the heated outside patio. It was warm but not too warm so we were comfortable. Think waiter was Mason. He took our drink orders and someone else brought them out. It was little while before he came back as he had tables inside and outside. Umm, there was a tiny mishap while I was waiting for my dad to walk inside and sit. An employee was about to take one of our chairs when I said no we have 5 not 4. He didnot ask if he could take it. He was just about to take it without saying a word. He gave me a dirty look for stopping him. He then walked over to a table of 2 with 4 chairs and asked them. He apologized to the people he was sitting but not me for being rude. Hmm, the table behind me looked at me and said wow. I asked if I was wrong and they said no shocked he responded that way. Anyway, Mason takes our food order. He did a good job answering our questions. He seemed distracted while taking our order. I asked him to repeat back each order so there was no confusion. My dad's order was to be fixed. Turns out a couple he had in his care was complaining about the heat. The man stands up and adjusts the thermostat. It is now no longer comfortable but cold. I asked my son to go get the manager or a server to adjust. Another server walks out, I asked if it could be placed in the middle to accommodate everyone. He says no problem and does so. The table behind me thanked me because they were cold. We get our food and everything is as ordered. The food was good and remained warm while we were eating. The guy who brought out our drinks and also brought out the food. He was personable and nice. He asked us how everything was as we paid the check. In all, the food was good and no complaints there. The one employee was rude but 1 bad apple doesn't ruin an experience. The rest of the staff was pleasant. They all wore masks and were polite. I have had good experiences at their other locations. But not at this one today. My food was late, my wife's eggs were cold, her dish consisted of a pumpkin pancake, piece of chicken sausage, and 2 fried eggs. About halfway through the pancake, under the pancake, was a piece of something green from another dish, on the other end of the plate under the chicken sausage was the remains of a tomato. Nothing on the ordered dish contains tomato or greens. I hope there is another explination but the first thing I thought of was they put her food on an unwashed dish and it was the remnants of someone else food. It was mentioned and shown to the server who took the dish off the bill. And to the checkout person when we paid. My 1st time visiting based on my nephew's recommendation. First Watch offers indoor and outdoor seating, we opted for outside. It was covered by heavy plastic covering to protect against the Fall chill so it made for a nice dining experience. Our party of 5 ate brunch here today and we each enjoyed our food! Our wait for our server to start was a lil longer than I cared to wait but once our server Coggins (I think) came everything moved pretty quickly and efficiently! My blueberry pancake were nice, fluffy and tasty! The home fries were crispy on the outside and tender inside with a nice flavor to it! My son loved his cheese grits! He thoroughly cleaned that grits bowl!! Oh and the coffee was very good...Fresh & hot w/a personal size carafe for refills. Came to First Watch on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with one other diner. The parking lot which is free and of decent size was packed so we expected some wait. The hostess informed us that there was an hour wait and since it was only about an hour and a half before closing they couldn't guarantee we'd be served, but they have community seating (large table shared with other diners) available immediately. Hoping to avoid any wait we took the available community seats. We were never provided menus and the spaces we were going to sit at had not yet been wiped down. Eventually staff did come to remove the plates of the previous diners. We probably waited at least 15 minutes before we received any attention from wait staff. Fortunately, the menu is posted online. Based off the movement in the lobby, table seating likely would not have taken more than 20 minutes but I guess that can be difficult to estimate. At this point I was just hopeful that the meals would be as delicious as I'd been told. When our plates arrived, all appeared in order and complete. I had the The Works omelet with grits, and a waffle & my date had the Farmhouse Hash. The waffle was good. The grits and omelet were somewhat bland. I was told the hash was flavorful. I would return as the food was tasty. Hopeful the next experience will be improved. read more

They have a serious problem with service at this location. My spouse and I came for breakfast. When we got there several tables were empty, Several were not bussed. The hostess/waitress was VERY SLOW to seat 3 tables. We were the 3rd table sat. This took around 5 minutes to seat 3 tables in a restaurant with 1/3 of the tables open, some not bussed. After being seated, NO ONE came to acknowledge us. We were not greeted or served for at least 20 minutes. When my spouse noted 2 tables that were seated after us got served that was it. We got up, and Left. This is completely unacceptable. We spoke with the manager, he asked us to come sit, but as we're are ACTUALLY WORKING PEOPLE, we needed to get to work. While I've had a previous dine-experience at this location years ago when it first opened, I decided to use a BOGO offer I received from First Watch in honor of my upcoming birthday and opted to order online. Figured with it being Memorial Day, I'd just order it and pick it up. Placed the order online through the website, which was super easy and user friendly and posted pics along with each item so I knew what I was getting, and picked a time to pick up my order. Of course when I arrived it was super busy but I made my way to the hostess stand and let the young lady know j had a pickup order. It took another 15 mins or so but I got my food and there was a sticker on the bag to secure everything. This was where it went wrong...I assumed everything from my order was in the bag but when I got home half of my order was missing. Guess it was my mistrals for assuming that the bag would be checked by staff to ensure everything was there and ironically enough the sticker listed a "checked by" area but of course no name was listed. I attempted to call but there was no answer so hopped back in the car and made my way back to the restaurant. This time around the young lady at the front wasn't quite as pleasant and then I had to explain several times what was wrong with the order. She took the receipt and in about two minutes another young lady appeared, called my name, handed me the bag, dropped the receipt in the bag and walked away. No apologize, no "do you need anything else", nothing. I provided a tip when I ordered so forgive me for needing more assistance. Anyway, the food was decent. Nothing to say oh I need to come back. The fruit looked like it had been sitting out for a bit, the bacon was crispy, the grits were bland, and the pancake just didn't have much flavor. Wish there were more stores to look at while we waited but that's not their fault. Our server James took care of us and told us all what is the best. Very friendly staff, and even on a busy day the food came out quickly. All of it was very good. My elevated egg sandwich was incredible, even with a runny egg, the bun didn't get soggy or fall apart at all. Potato's good too. My girlfriends tacos were incredible as well. Got the $5 juice they have, was pretty good but $5 for a cup of juice that isn't mind blowing is not ideal. I ordered the Short Rib Poutine Hash but I usually get a Parma Skillet Hash. It usually comes with toast and a cup of 2-3 pieces of small fruit. But to be honest they always forget one or the other. Sometimes both. The Short Rib Hash had no short rib. I asked for over medium eggs and they were cooked all the way. I went in and asked for a refund since my order wasn't cooked right. They had a nasty attitude and had me fill out a sheet of paper that said "refund request form." I called back 3 days later to ask if it's been processed/submitted yet. They kept putting me on hold and hanging up the phone. I then called corporate and spoke to a nice lady named Paige who told me the restaurant never submitted my refund request. It's cheap and mediocre brunch food, but I won't go back because they're very inconsistent with the food and management sucks. The manager's name was Winston. read more

we use to go to first watch several times a moth but the quality and service went "downhill"! Recently we gave it another try and we were so Disappointed. We try to arrive early on Sundays (To beat the rush)early in the morning but it still takes 45 minutes to over an hour to get our food order! When the food arrives it is COLD and not made properly! We try to flag down our waitress and they are no where around. it appears that Management does NOT care about their customers as there "main focus" is on Outgoing orders and ignoring seated customers. We have tried to be patient and give them another try this morning. it was Horrible! The food for both my wife and myself were COLD and not prepared properly. Saturday morning breakfast with my 22 month old niece. Sat immediately and they were great helping me dealing with a high chair and getting her situated. I ordered her the kids pancake plate with bacon and I ordered the trifecta with a blueberry pancake, scrambled eggs and bacon. Coffee is strong. It's good but I prefer a milder roast than what they had. The pancakes are as big as your head. Thin, like I like, but huge. So glad they only give you one. My niece loved hers. I liked mine but after tasting her pancake, I should have ordered the plain one too. The blueberries did nothing for the batter. The scrambled eggs were blah but they use real eggs, so that's a plus. Bacon was a little fatty. I wish I had known it wasn't the million dollar bacon because I would have ordered some. The bacon was a little fatty and basic. Not what I expected at all. Service is great here. Wouldn't change a thing about our server. There is one change I would make is they use plastic plates for small kids.
