    Lemon blueberry cornbread
    Tara F.

We visited on a Thursday for brunch. There was a wait at the door, but we opted to sit at the bar and was able to walk right in. We ordered the seasonal lemon blueberry cornbread as a starter. It wasn't as warm as I excepted it should be, but it still tasted delicious. I got the elevated egg sandwich, with eggs over hard instead of over easy, and a side of fruit instead of potatoes. We also tried the waffle, which tasted like a big funnel cake, very good. All of the food was great, the bacon was nice and crispy (the way I like it), they just need to work on their plating with clean hands. The fruit bowl was covered with grease and the plate had what looked like a fruit compote thump print on the corner. There were quite a few crumbs on the table and crushed fruit on the floor. Other than that, the style of the place was nice and welcoming.

I had my son go on and add our name to the list while in park. I walk in the restaurant and he says it's. 10-15 minute wait. I say okay. People come in before us and then they are seated. I asked the young lady how long will it be before we are seated and why was the people who came in after us seated before us. She said with an unprofessional undertone and attitude that it's a waitlist. And continues to go back and forth with me. I asked for the manager at that point. It was no need for that. He came over and stated to him what I asked the young lady. And I told him thank you for explaining that and why couldn't she explain the waitlist and online process to me without the attitude. We ordered our food. It came out warm and not done. My pancake was burnt. My sausage was pink. They have a bar which I never seen before in any of the first watch restaurants. Which is nice. It adds a different ambiance to the place. But this is my first and last visit to this location. I was being generous with the 2.

Our lunch, we ordered breakfast type meals, proceeded smoothly. The checkin process is thoughtful. They send you a text msg when your table is ready if you don't want to hang around the check-in podium. We went outside and sat in the sun to wait. It took less than 15 minutes for our call. We ordered PDQ and meal arrived within a very reasonably time. Our order was perfect and the portion size as expected. Our server checked on us a few times also. The food was tasty. Based on the low overall rating, I was surprised. the space is pleasant and there are plenty of table sizes. They can accommodate groups at the big round tables or by shoving tables together. There is a bar for quick service too. We paid electronically and left Pronto, no waiting around for the final bill, etc, etc. We'll be back.

    Million dollar Bacon

I was beyond excited when I heard we were getting a First Watch. I enjoy breakfast/brunch & the area needed more farm fresh options. Family members were in town and hungry, They were discussing the Million Dollar Bacon they had in Dallas so I broke the good news about the Waldorf location opening & added my name to the Wait List. We arrived within our specified time & checked in. Needless to say, it was a full bustling house. We (family of 5) were seated in a tight high traffic area with a stroller although 2 empty booths & tables in more desirable spots were available . It took about 35 min. to receive water & coffee. We ordered our food at the same time to reduce wait time. Our order: Watermelon Wake -Up (2x), Million Dollar Bacon, Millon Dollar Potatoes, Blueberry lemon cornbread, shrimp & grits, trifecta, & Farmhouse hash without bacon. Server delivered bacon & cornbread after an additional 45 min. After an hour and multiple inquiries our remaining food was delivered COLD & my over medium egg was cooked hard. Butter didn't melt on toast or the Belgium waffle. The kids were getting cranky so we packed up as my son requested a manager. He shared specifics regarding our poor experience. We left him inside the restaurant with the manager. He came out with my replacement egg in a box. I was embarrassed for subjecting the family to this after they had a fantastic experience in Dallas.

Ordered the Frittata Rustica and found a tiny hair in my food. Really disappointing and pretty gross!!

Visited on a weekday at 9:45 am and had a twenty minute wait time which isn't bad considering the place is new and there were already many people waiting. Restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. We had : Purple Haze - super sweet lemonade 10/10 Salmon Eggs Benedict with mixed greens 7/10 ( my mom said the whites of her eggs were runny but overall it was tasty French toast - huge portion, smelled and tasted delicious hence why almost half of them are gone in the picture. The berry jelly was nice but the warm syrup was amazing. 9/10 Farmhouse hash- Potatoes were perfectly seasoned, eggs and bacon were tasty. Another huge portion. Trifecta- eggs, bacon and waffles. My daughter raved about the bacon ( they gave 4-5 pieces) and waffles. She also enjoyed her smaller portioned ( but still full price :) ) purple haze. Kids Meal Half waffle with sausage, fruit and an additional side of eggs. Paying with the QR code on the receipt was a convenient bonus. Will return to try the kale tonic and morning meditation.

Tri Fecta for Two please. We had to give First Watch a Try!

Okay Yelpies! It's here! First Watch in Waldorf! It's the old Bob Evans but with a different look. It just opened so staff were opening doors, lots of employees helping each other, and super clean! Our utensils were spotty and I told my partner if they are going to take the time to wrap the utensils they might as well take the time to polish all the water stains and do a food check. My spoon had food stuck. Other than that issue, our visit was smooth. We got up early to beat the crowd on Saturday and before 9 a.m. there was a line outside of the door. Let's get into it! Trifecta - Waffle was light - Delicious! Probably one of the best waffles I've had ever! Eggs were fresh! Bacon was delicious! Definitely delicious! We'd be back if we woke up early enough to beat the crowd! Great new addition to Waldorf! Would have given them 5 stars had their utensils been clean!

First Watch has been on my list for as long as I can remember. I finally carved out some "me time" and I just so happen to be near the new location, so it was the perfect opportunity. I usually like to wait for the excitement of the "newness" to wear off as well as the "kinks" getting worked out before trying new restaurants, but I'm glad I went when I did. It was well worth it. Here's what I had: *lemon ricotta pancakes = sweet and fluffy, no need for syrup or butter *scrambled eggs w/pepper jack cheese = cheesy, fluffy *million dollar bacon = OMG! *purple haze = yummy, refreshing Everything was SO GOOD. It's been years since I've had lemon ricotta pancakes, so I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. I can't wait to go back. (I already know what I'm going to order.) __ I eat. @f.hux I thrift. @DCthriftish

Second time at this First Watch location and it's becoming a solid spot for our mommy-daughter brunch dates. It was a teacher workday so we treated ourselves. My daughter went for the Works omelette, and I ordered the Trifecta with scrambled eggs, bacon, and a Belgian waffle. We both had the Purple Haze juice and couldn't resist trying the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Doughnuts (so good, especially warm!). Service was friendly, food came out quickly, and everything was fresh. Great addition to Waldorf. Pro tip check in on line to beat the line.

Today I finally visited and was a bit disappointed to see the underwhelming interior where it is strictly carry out and cheap metal guest chairs to wait on while the food is prepared. But it's really about the food right?! Meh. It was very hit and miss. I ordered the (4) sliders with grilled onions. They were slightly charred which was nice, and they were juicy, but they could have been cooked a little more (they were like medium to medium well and I prefer well done - I should note they didn't ask how I preferred my burgers cooked). I also ordered their jumbo fried wings and picked sweet and sassy sauce. The sauce was tasty and the wings had a nice texture, but beyond the sauce the wings had a plain flavor suggesting they didn't season the wings before frying and then coating them with sauce. Overall the food was solid but not awe inspiring. I was less impressed with their cakes. I ordered a strawberry slice and a carrot cake. The carrot cake was moist and wasn't bad at all. I've had much better, but it was edible and satisfied my sweet tooth for the day. The strawberry cake however was dry and grainy. Perhaps it was old. It was definitely a waste of $7.99! On the plus side the employee was friendly and nice, so there's that!

The steak and cheese featured soggy bread with a side of limp lukewarm fries, and the jerk chicken was a poor imitation of jerk flavor, as the best word I could use to describe it was lifeless. On the bright side, the employee was friendly and the food was ready on time, so at least there was that. Unfortunately, this was a total miss so my first time will also be my last time.

When we arrived, the hostess flat-out denied ever receiving it, then casually assumed we'd "be there in a few minutes" -- as if she knew exactly who we were and what had happened. That's not a system glitch, that's negligence. What made it so much worse? Not a single apology. Instead, we were met with outright rudeness from the staff. And the food? Horrible. Not "disappointing" -- genuinely bad. To top it off, the restaurant has a noticeable unpleasant odor that made it impossible to enjoy even being inside. This place has had every opportunity to make things right and has failed spectacularly each time. The staff is rude, disorganized, and completely indifferent to customer experience. The vibe here is of a casual diner, with an expansive menu that changes often with the seasons and local eats. I came here after visiting a friend out in the Waldorf area and decided to grab take-out before heading back into DC. I will admit I almost did not stop here because it was near closing time and I hate order from place near closing. I got here near closing and the food was just as fresh as if it was opening time. We all know how it is getting somewhere to eat near closing time.... You tend to get subpar service and food. You subject to getting a scraps, bad orders, guilty eye rolls from your server, "ain't got this, "ain't got that," issues....lol. But, this was not the case at this Silver Diner. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Our bartender/server was Cameron C. and he did an amazing job serving us and making us feel welcomed. He's truly a people person. He kept the drinks on point while we waited for our food and made sure our orders were prepared exactly how we requested. During this visit, I tried the Short Rib Burger, Loaded Fries as a side & Buffalo Wings. Everything was delicious and fresh. And, the burger was the star!...A juicy 1/2lb burger pattie cooked to perfection....topped with bacon & tender braised short rib!! It was complete meat overload, super fresh and sooooo good! For anyone that is "meataholic" like myself...you gotta try this thing. My wings and the loaded fries complemented my dish well too. Not to mention, everything was packed well for the long haul and drive back to DC....of course, I couldn't resist and snuck in a few bites of the fries at each stop light heading back down Route 5. Let's just call it a #qualitycheck! lol ;-) In all, I enjoyed my visit. This location gets two thumbs up in my book. I'l definitely visit this SD again if I am ever in this neck of the woods hungry and in need. * Yelp Elite Tip & Honorable Mention: Sign up for their "Eat Well Do Well" Rewards Program. It is colorful, lively, and feels like a place that actually wants you there--not just another restaurant turning tables. That alone sets the tone. Let's talk drinks first--because they deserve it. Food-wise, everything came out hot and full of flavor. You know that moment when a plate hits the table and you can already tell it is about to be good? That. Whether it was the seasoning, the portions, or just the overall freshness, it did not feel like anything was rushed or phoned in. And let me give you a real tip--always ask for a bigger table. There were five of us, and the amount of food that came out? We needed the space. This is not a "small plates, cute portions" kind of place. They show up for real. And I have to say--service matters to me, especially after some recent experiences elsewhere. Here, I did not have to flag anyone down. We were checked on, taken care of, and actually seen as guests. I add peppers, provolone and mayo and an extra side of tzatziki (labeled garlic cucumber on the menu), and oil and vinegar (which tastes like Italian dressing, but who's counting?). The bread is phenomenal. I may literally just order a sub roll with no ingredients one day, just so I can eat it toasted with butter, with every meal I have. It's soft and fluffy, crispy and chewy all at the same time. (It almost gives bagel, but not tough). I also got the y cheesecake. It isn't "fast food fast", but also doesn't taste like shit either, so the wait is worth it. At most 10-15 min if you don't call ahead.
