I'm never disappointed in this chain, And I normally opt for indie businesses because they tend to be more unique and better quality overall. Every time I go here, the service is top notch with filling drinks, explaining specials, everything. They have very congenial people who work here. I usually go for brunch, and love their seasonal specials. I recently had pumpkin pancakes that were delicious and perfectly made. They give you two pancakes, so you don't leave feeling like The Michelin Man and usually can opt for something light on the side like fruit. I want to start off by saying I love the food at First Watch. My issue, however, lies with their to-go service. Just about every time I've ordered take out from this location, there's been *some* kind of issue. Either it ends up taking WAY longer than what they quote, or the order is wrong. And whomever answers the phone to take an order, etc ALWAYS makes me feel rushed, like their time and focus needs to be directed at something more valuable then my business. I haven't ordered from FW in a while, but did this morning (via Uber Eats), and had my worst experience thus far. I placed my order just before 11am this morning and was quoted an estimated delivery time of 11:40 am (with a potential delay of up to a 12 noon delivery time). I was notified that the driver arrived to pick my food up at 11:40. The clock kept ticking and it got to be 12:15, no activity yet..status remained as "finishing up order". So I called First Watch for a verbal update. The associate who answered the phone was very short- he said "we're very busy, your driver is likely here waiting for your order to be completed. You can either wait or cancel your order and get a refund thru Uber Eats". Well isn't that some stellar customer service?!?! He didn't even offer to get my order info from me to provide SOME kind of update. Fast forward to 12:30pm, this time I messaged the driver. She immediately called me back and asked if another driver has delivered my food, as my order somehow "went missing". To which I replied "no." but I still went to the door to make sure..no food there. The driver then said "if you don't mind waiting a little longer they'll cook up a new order and I'll deliver it right away, or, you can cancel the order for a refund". Well, my boyfriend and I are very hungry at this point, tempted to go out and grab some food myself (which would defeat the whole purpose of having Uber Eats as an option) so I told the driver I'd wait. And somehow, in some miraculously magical way, FW was able to whip up my order and the driver delivered to my place at 12:55pm. So there you have it: 2 hours for this fiasco. Needless to say, I am FAR from impressed. FW desperately needs some competition around here, not only to lighten their business load (since they seem to have insufficient staffing to handle the take-out portion of their business), but also to hopefully give them an opportunity to get their act together to keep up with said competition. read more

Well, just like the First Watch at E Fowler, I was seriously impressed with the service and food we received today for brunch. I quickly scanned the menu and really wanted the Cobb salad. But... I really wanted Baby Spinach instead of lettuce and I really wanted chicken instead of turkey. Waitress response, "no problem!" Awesomeness. A ordered a veggie omelet with less cheese and more veggies and multigrain toast instead of an english muffin, another "no problem!" from the waitress. (and with a smile!) I enjoy First Watch. I am a very big fan of their fresh fruit crepe. Very tasty and refreshing when you don't want a heavy breakfast. Their menu has great variety to meet whatever you are in the mood for or your needs. The biggest drawback is that there is always a long wait. First Watch Disappointment I have heard such rave reviews about First Watch that I couldn't wait to come in and try it for myself. Many times, I have seen the line down the corner and tons of people waiting to be seated so I expect to have my "socks knocked off." Needless to say, my partner and I tried First Watch and were not impressed. The theme of the restaurant seems to display "healthy" and in deed the meal I tried was healthy, but also flavorless. I ordered the "Greek Omelet" as egg whites only. It seemed that my egg white as artificial egg white, and cooked in some type of formed container. The only real flavor of the entire plate came from the red peppers. I would recommend First Watch for those that want to eat healthy, but are not fond of flavor. I came here for breakfast with a friend yesterday, and we both had a nice meal with friendly staff and fast service. I went for the AB&J waffle on the spring menu, which consisted of a fluffy Belgian waffle with almond butter, strawberry sauce, and fresh strawberries and house granola as garnish. While the waffle was a bit sweet to me, it complimented my black coffee well and the waffle itself was well cooked--fluffy and crisp on the edges. My friend had the Avocado, Bacon, and Tomato Hash with her two eggs sunny side up. Her plate looked delicious, and she seemed to enjoy her meal as well. While the food here is good, I don't think any of it was stand out amazing based on my recent visit and another a couple years ago. The food is also just a little on the pricey side, so I won't be frequenting this place too much, but it is a good place to have a sit-down morning meal to catch up with friends. read more

For the last about 2-3 months we had been trying to go to First Watch with my son, especially on Sundays after church. But after always being told that the wait would be about 45 mins, we would get discouraged and go elsewhere until last Sunday- after church at about 9.30am. When we got in and asked how long we would wait, we were told 25 mins. This time it was my husband and I. We decided to wait and so glad we did. The plain and blue berry pan cakes Were out of this world! The rest of the breakfast was fresh and so tasty...I downloaded Yelp as advised cause I was never able to get on the wait list with the First Watch app. I hope I will be able to with Yelp as and when we need to go for breakfast. read more

I really enjoyed this place. My husband and I went with another couple visiting us. It was super busy because it was Sunday. I had the Belgian waffle with eggs and bacon. The waffle was really good. They cooked it just right. It was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. This place was nice and clean on the inside. Definitely a step up from your local Waffle House! Came in yesterday morning and the place was empty at 11:00. We got a table as soon as we walked , the table was clean with a little bit of water on the seat probably missed when it was last cleaned. Our server, for the life of me cannot remember his name, was very cheerful and had a big smile on his face. He was very attentive when we were ordering even though it took us awhile to piece through the menu. We settled on the blueberry pancakes and Million Dollar Bacon. The food came out within minutes and the Million Dollar Bacon i sure can say was well worth it. The bacon was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic, would definitely come back again simply for the bacon. The pancakes however were fluffy and the right texture really just lacked blueberries. Felt almost a little stiffed, but the pancakes still satisfied. We must have caught our server in the middle of a shift change, because after we got our food he simply vanished into thin air. It was a struggle to get my refill, and by the time I did we were finished eating and another server was bringing us the check. All in all, it's good breakfast. read more

Man what a good cup of coffee. Love that they have the flavored creamers as well as half & half. Today I had the 1/2 turkey sandwich grilled with a small chicken and rice soup. Complimented with a glass of Dayglow Juice consisting of carrots, oranges, ginger and lemon not potent and tastes good like juice so not sure how good it actually is for you. I really enjoyed eating here before they made all the menu changes in 2015. The selection is quite limited now. The food is still tasty and they will still offer to make the similar item as before if the have the product, which helps...but it makes things more complicated. I also dislike that the water is brought out in tiny milk bottles and our cups ate short glasses. They are rarely refilled. Despite the negatives, the staff are wonderful and do take the time to ensure you order is right. They listen, smile, and joke with you. Im not a fan of First Watch and feel that it is more hype than anything else but with that being said, my food was good and service was fine but because it was so busy my server was not able to give us more attention.
