Let me start off by saying my husband and I love First Watch. Truth be told, my husband was a manager for them for 7 years. This morning my husband and I went there and the normally amazing foid/service left us a little wanting this time. Our server, however, was wonderful. My husband's order came with tomatoes though he specifically asked they not be in his food. The server read our order back to us and he said it properly. I asked for my eggs to be cooked over medium, yet the yolks were almost like saw dust. When some of this was brought to our servers attention he was sorry our order had been messed up. He actually even used his discount on our meal, (smart move), but he also brought out the order slip that showed the order had been put in correctly, (not cool). We were somewhat disappointed that a black apron server nor any member of management came to see us about our meal after we complained. Though we were very disappointed in today's meal, we will be back and try again. We just want you guys to get your food and service back up to the highest quality standards you are known for. We went here after we got our marriage license to get married a few years ago so whenever my husband is in town we like to eat here like an anniversary spot. We could see it from the window as we were in line at the magistrates applying for our marriage license so felt it was a sign we should eat there. Anyway, we were excited as they have pumpkin pancakes so my hubs ordered the PP breakfast. I had one of the other specials: a short rib omelet. His pancake was HUGE, fluffy and flavorful. My omelet was super tasty. The coffee was not up our alley though. It was sour and acidic and did not complement our food. We were really sad about that. I don't know if they changed their blend. I hope they offer a darker roast or less acidic coffee in the future. We love their food because it's fresh and delicious, but coffee flavor is so important and really makes or breaks your breakfast experience. read more

The most inefficiently run restaurant in Williamsburg! Today was the third time I've visited. I arrived with low expectations due to previous visits and my expectations were met. We used the call ahead seating app, which was fine, but after being called to the hostess desk we waited ten additional minutes for a table. Then we waited seven minutes for a server to come to our table, and then an additional eight minutes for our coffees and waters. We were a party of two. When our food came out fifteen minutes later, the server let us know they were out of bacon. That change would have changed my order, letting me know as I ordered instead of at delivery would have been helpful. The food is fine, but unfortunately the poor service and inefficient seating process is a trend. There are several other options for breakfast in Williamsburg, so this was the last strike for First Watch. read more

Loved it! We were looking for a restaurant that would meet some new dietary restrictions and this menu looked perfect. Everything was delicious (Eggs Benedict, Tri-Athlete & seasonal pumpkin donuts). You always hear that First Watch is extremely busy for brunch, so we actually got on Yelp and made a reservation. It was busy once we arrived, and plenty busy, so we waited for closer to 20 minutes before we were seated. Luckily, we got there before the larger crowd arrived. There was no clear direction in who our waitress was from the beginning, and it was clear that she was stressed. She brought us a carafe of water, and we didn't have enough cups. Also, the water tasted extremely odd. We placed our order which took about 30 minutes to get to us, and when it all arrived our waitress realized that I didn't have my plate. Although I can't say for sure, I'm betting just based off of how long I waited for my plate that she didn't place my order at all. The food was mediocre. Potatoes were burnt, scrambled eggs were overdone. We ordered a kids plate for my son and it was pretty pathetic. He got maybe half an egg's worth of scrambled eggs and a few pieces of fruit. I don't go out for breakfast very often, but next time I do it will be a local joint and not a chain such as First Watch. read more

It was a good breakfast! I had cinnamon chip pancakes. I usually do not order pancakes when eating out. They were very good. At the time we went there was no wait to get seated. However, we had to ask the hostess to find our waitress, after we were seated for about 10 minutes. An added bonus: Joe Claire - comedian / radio personality was there eating! So that was cool! I really wish I could've given this place a solid 4 or 5 stars after dinning for breakfast both Saturday and Sunday while on a Williamsburg getaway this weekend. My Saturday visit was pleasant. Not crowded, attentive waiter with recommendations and hastiness to fix any mistakes. I ordered off the the summer seasonal menu; crab omelette, million dollar bacon, and morning meditation beverage. My meal was great we were so satisfied that we went the next day... Sunday was way busier but the hostess seated us quickly. Our waitress came over appearing to be super smiley and helpful but the disinterest quickly showed. I ordered the morning meditation again but this time I was served in a to go cup, given the excuse they ran out of clean cups. But we were somehow the ONLY people in the restaurant drinking out of a to go cup . The waitress took our food order and never returned to the table but definitely worked around us. She took orders and constantly checked on 3 separate tables near our but avoided contact with us until she saw we were waiting for her to bring our check. The total lack of regard for our presence in this establishment has left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not sure if I would take a risk on dinning at another First Watch. Yes the food was good but to feel avoided and unwelcome while dining is not what I pay for. read more

Great food! The turmeric drinks are fun and interesting. I had the truffles wild mushroom frittata and it was delicious. My husband had a different frittata and the million dollar bacon. Our plates are clean. Skip the pancake houses when in Williamsburg and try something different. You won't regret it! read more

In contrast with them, First Watch offers higher quality ingredients, lower prices (yes, really), and slightly smaller portions. We ALWAYS enjoy dining at FW; this was our first time at this location. Mandi answered the phone when I called and was great (July 18, 2021). I had a few questions about getting on the waitlist and wanted to let the hostess know our party of 6 included my service dog. I prefer being away from loud noises and tight spots , so they accommodated me and my family by making a spot for us on the patio. We truly appreciate how awesome FW ALWAYS is! Visited this place for the first time with my grand daughter. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. My grand daughter had a veggie burger with potatoes; the burger was very moist and both the burger and potatoes were very flavorful. I had the wrap with egg whites and fruit bowl and it was delicious. She also had the kale juice and it was so yummy. My grand daughter is a vegetarian and she was very pleased with her food and stated she definitely wants to return to try other items on the menu. Fist time at First Watch... I liked the inside it is nice and welcoming.... but their area to wait for a table is crowded and If it is raining or snowing... it is not good. The service is just OK. Our waitress dropped off our check we never saw her again! And we stayed a little while longer... My wife's bfast was good she says... but I ordered the multi-grain pancake "Tri-Fecta" and it wasn't good at all... I didn't even finish it... and if I wanted syrup with my pancake it was going to be EXTRA???Really??? Anyway... I'll try it just once more to just see if they had an "off" day... The replacement items that they screwed up didn't come out until we were done eating, and they were left on the check. Love that they have a location in Williamsburg finally! Mom and I went in for brunch today- Wednesday- around 11:30 and there was no wait, which was great b/c about 30 mins later it was packed! Server was completely accommodating for my swaps and substitutes on my meal. It was nice to feel like I wasn't being a burden due to food sensitivities. Food was great, but it took quite a bit of time for us to get it. I was on a break from work, so was a little worried we'd have to walk out. Mom had their trifecta plate and I had their Market Veggie sandwich. They left off my sides, but were quick to get it over to me. After the meal, we left feeling full but not super stuffed, which is just the right level in the middle of the day. All-in-all great food and environment, just need to get an extra person up front for check out and find their groove with service. I'm excited to have them here! Then couldn't fix the order before the others in my party were finished eating (who were not fast eaters). How long does it take to poach an egg to easy??? Ok I tried it twice & a little disappointing both times. Wait was 20-30 minutes each time but once seated - another 20+ minutes to get food. Pancakes should not take that long. Potato were cold and sandwich was ok. First visit hot cocoa was really good but 2nd visit it was terrible. Had to ask for my complete order twice.
