We went to the breakfast and dinner buffet during our stay and it is consistently mediocre. Some items like the mashed potatoes and roasted corn salad were awesome. The teriyaki salmon was good. The ribs were inedible and rubbery, the pork was bland and anemic. The pasta and meatballs had no pasta available. There were individual mini cups of jello, chocolate and vanilla pudding, as well as Rice Krispies treats, cheesecake slices and cookies. In short, it is pretty much exactly what you would expect from buffet food. The price was way above what I would normally pay for a buffet though. The breakfast buffet had individual cereals, muffins, all kinds of breads to toast, stuffed French toast, very thick and dry paw shaped waffles, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon and sausage. Again, normal breakfast fare for a buffet. The biscuits and gravy and stuffed French toast were pretty tasty, everything else was adequate, except the waffles which were so dry my kids wouldn't eat them. It was a lot easier to stomach the price for this though since it was a solid $12 buffet, priced a little higher for convenience. Overall, I would go for the breakfast buffet again, but skip the dinner buffet. read more

So, we ate here for dinner the one night we stayed. At $20 for adults and $9 for kids, I was prepared to waste money. I was pleasantly surprised. I don't think I got my monies worth but it wasn't wasted entirely. The food was surprisingly good. There weren't any lines. My kid ate, although not $9 worth. Good drink menu and that's where they really get you. Surprisingly good pot stickers and pasta. Service was really good. It was nice to be somewhere quiet and not rushed. Desserts could have used some creativity but still were tasty. Would I go back again, I don't know. Next trip we plan to take way more food but it was pretty decent for a hotel buffet. read more

It's our second time visiting Great Wolf Lodge and I recalled our pleasant dinner at Loose Moose years ago. Boy has time changed and so has the menu and head chef. The option and variety of food is nothing but junk food. They have salad, stuffing, white fish, ham, mac and cheese and other pasta, fried breaded food, Chinese station, and some junk dessert station. Everything we tasted was either loaded with sodium or bland or cold. Their spring rolls were nice looking on the outside but ice cold (still frozen) on the inside. Yuck! Their sweet and sour chicken is full of hard rock breading smothered with sauce. Where's the chicken in it? I can't even find the meat! It was a sad dinner. Adults cost $21 per person. This is also our Easter dinner 2019 and a sad experience to remember. I do not recommend coming here. Save yourself and stop by a Burger King or McDonald's and you'll have a better dinner. read more

I must say this was a big disappointment eating here. We went here a couple years ago and I remember it was decent. However, this time around no bueno on the food. They had Asian spring rolls that was not even cooked on the inside. It was still frozen! The rice tasted like bird seeds and the pot luck stickers should be call unlucky stickers. They had garden salad that you put together yourself with choice of broccoli and potato salad. The pasta and meat sauce tasted like it was straight from a can. They served canned fruits as well. The stuffing looked like it was a bunch of stuff I don't even know. For 20.99 per adult I felt I got ripped off on the food. On the bright side the server was on point with taking our finished plates and was tentative to us. The only thing this place got going for them we didn't have to drive out to get food. Nothing that was served this night I could say was decent or enjoyed. Other than that, you have been warned about the food. You might do better driving out if your willing to do so. read more

My wife and I took our girls (4 and 5) to Great Wolf for the weekend for the first time to finally get away during the COVID-19 crisis that has now stretched in early 2021. As a fire and rescue worker I was vaccinated, and hospitalizations are down so we didn't see an issue with heading out. Our girls are only this age once and they love swimming- boy was this a great experience for them. We had a great weekend at the lodge and one of our highlights was 2 meals at the Loose Moose. David was our server, he said he's been working there for about 3 years and we loved him so much we requested to be seated in his section again the following night. The food was good but the service was incredible. They've made the "buffet line" as COVID-friendly as you can get, which was different, but orderly. The staff were all very nice as they moved your tray for you and added items. David treated my family with such professionalism and enthusiasm, the girls loved when he made them his "special" raspberry lemonade (which I believe is just a mix of raspberry tea and lemonade) either way, he made something simple into something very special for them. I was also very pleased with the meal selection, good variety for kids (nuggets, veggies) and great stuff for adults (prime rib, salmon, salads). The desserts were on point, too. We felt like we were special and really that's all you need sometimes. Thanks to David and the other staff for great service! We will be back. read more

Meh. The GWL needs to have a small restaurant or cafe for adults and older kids. The seating area is loud because of the arched seating and acoustics, the tables are hot because of the lantern-style lights, the food is...okay...but cafeteria style, making the server all but pointless. It would be nice to have a little (or even an area of the restaurant) dedicated to a quieter atmosphere for adults when their kids are asleep. Even if it's a bar with just tapas/apps and a full bar. We spent the entire day chasing the minions around an indoor water park and just dropped $300 on a cabin-themed hotel room. It would be nice to have a good cocktail and some ahi tuna in a quiet, dark corner. read more

We were a little apprehensive after reading the mixed reviews, but we wanted something quick and it's a buffet, so we gave it a go. We actually ended up mostly impressed! The buffet has a fruit/salad station, an entree station, a stuff that doesn't fit in the first two station, and a dessert station. Salad options are fairly basic, but they had stuff for Caesar plus two bases for traditional salad, and all of the toppings appeared fresh. If I had a complaint here it's that the Caesar dressing was too thick, but it was tasty. The entree station isn't going to win a health food contest for sure, but there are some better options like green beans, sautéed squash and zucchini, and sautéed mushrooms. The carving station had brisket and pork loin, the latter was a little dry but some of the gravy fixed that right up. Mashed potatoes and gravy, baked ziti, and sweetish meatballs were other solid options. My own take on the best dish? The beef stew. Put a ladle over mashed potatoes. At the end is the kid, I mean fried, section. Chicken tenders, french fries, corn dogs and onion rings. The third station is an interesting mix. Garlic toast, crackers with butter and cheese, pizza (pepperoni and cheese), and potato salad and pasta salad. The garlic toast was surprisingly not a dried out mess like on most buffets. The pizza was also reasonable. It won't challenge any real pizzeria, but was above what I expected. And lastly, desserts. Cookies, cupcakes, pies, and a few other assorted things. Something for everyone to be sure. I see a lot of people complaining about the price. It was $20/adult $7/child when we went, and $2 for a soft drink. We didn't get any adult beverages. Having been to Williamsburg several times I will say while possible it's a challenge to get out of any sit-down restaurant for less than $20 per adult, and that's not always getting a salad and a dessert. Given this is an all you can eat buffet, with all 3 courses available, and the food is decent, I think the $20 is a bargain. In short, can you get better elsewhere? Absolutely. It will also cost you more money and more time. Is this a perfectly reasonable option? Absolutely. Something for everyone in a large group, even if they aren't getting their favorites, quick because it's a buffet so you can just start eating, and a fair price. read more

Restaurant is clean and there are a lot of options. Pancakes, waffles, bagels, toast, biscuits. Cream chipped beef, sausage gravy, all of the breakfast meats. Omelette station Donuts and cereals with milk. Yogurt, granola, cottage cheese and fruit Oatmeal and toppings Service is probably spotty depending on who your server is. Ours wasn't very quick or attentive. We almost finished our plate before serving our drinks. She made sure to tell us that they were free refills. But we had to wait awhile for refills. read more

The Lodge was wonderful the rooms were nice and the waterpark was fun but this restaurant was not what you'd expect for what you pay. The food had no flavor. We got to our seat to eat it was cold. I got fried chicken and there was no chicken all breading. The dessert was the best part but I'm sure that came frozen. I will not eat there again. We just wasted $70. ;( Save your money people. read more

It's not every day you find yourself in an outdoors-themed bar in the middle of a childhood wonderland (I hope), and when you do, you probably don't expect much. Well at the Loose Moose you'd be wrong because that bar was straight up FIRE. Shots being poured over here, droughts pulled over there. An aire of haze, wonder, and excitement that I haven't seen since my days in a fraternity basement permeated the room. There were local beers and the bourbon selection was more than adequate. Maybe it was the booze toying with me, but I'm pretty sure there was an animatronic racoon swinging from the rafters every once in a while. We ate here for breakfast only. It's convenient, and there is nothing I could think of that I wanted that the breakfast buffet did not contain. I have a 12 year old who looks 14, and the waitress charged us for a child's buffet, which I appreciated. (She did not ask her age, and I assumed she realized she was not 10 and under.)They charge full price for age 11 and up. I was impressed with the quality of the food and the cleanliness. The fruit was fresh and the variety was great. The atmosphere is cute too, like the rest of Great Wolf Lodge. Rundown of buffet food: Made to order omelet station, bacon, sausage links, sausage patties, sausage gravy, chipped beef gravy, scrambled eggs, french toast sticks, mini Wolf waffles (like Mickey waffles at Disney), pancakes, biscuits, fried apples, corned beef hash, fried potatoes, hash brown potatoes, assorted pastries and muffins, assorted cereal, slices of fresh pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapefruit and watermelon. Yogurt, granola, assorted whole fruits, grits with toppings and oatmeal with toppings. Toast and bagel station. 2 small cons: Coffee was terrible, and it was not included with the buffet. I'm guessing Dunkin Donuts has some type of agreement that Great Wolf must serve horrible coffee so people will buy coffee from Dunkin Donuts in the lobby. There was a $2.99 charge for coffee with the buffet. If I am paying 15.99 for a buffet, could ya not throw in a drink? So, would I eat breakfast here again? Definitely yes, but I would get my coffee at Dunkin. If you are not a big breakfast person, it may not be your jam, but for us, it was great! read more

Our waitress was really nice. It is overpriced ($20 adult, $9 kids over 3) but can't beat the convenience when you have a bunch of young kids with you and need to eat asap. Some of the food wasn't great but since there was so much variety, we were all able to pick something we liked and just kept going back for more of those specific items. They really rope you into this restaurant. $16 for breakfast, and adults pay extra for any drinks they order. They don't tell you this upfront! Lots of pancake restaurants only minutes away... don't be afraid to venture away during your stay at Great Wolf Lodge: you'll get a better experience elsewhere. Short order cook was rude. We figured we would try the in house buffet. It's is mediocre at best. Had a bunch of kid oriented food. But the kids wouldn't really eat it. Said it didn't taste good. I wasn't expecting much when we ate here this week, and sadly, my expectations were met. Our server, Liz, was awesome! I give her a 10+ for her friendliness and attentiveness. Beyond that, the food was blah. The veggie sides were sad and over cooked. The baked potatoes looked like they might have been in the oven for hours. The brisket wasn't bad and the salad bar was ok. We took our 14 month old son to Great wolf lodge and instead of leaving the area it was so convenient to eat at the buffet they have. The price is great and they have a deal that you get breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a lower price when booked together. So that's exactly what we did. Breakfast was great. Fresh fruit and make your own omelets. Of course they have the usual pancakes and bacon and potatoes etc. Was this spectacular, no, but it was extremely easy and tasty. We ate their twice for breakfast and my son loved it and so did we. The two times we ate there for dinner was also really good. No, there not filet mignon, but there was brisket and Mac n cheese, and tons of food that is family friendly. Again they had fresh fruit and veggies which is a plus when you don't want your kid just eating chicken fingers. The place was very clean and honestly our wait staff was amazing and super friendly. There is no reason that this isn't a perfect family buffet. The only down side was that the dessert stinks, that's why I'm giving it a 4 star. But realistically, it saved us time, money, and was quite enjoyable. If we go to great wolf again I would do it the same exact way! read more

I have celiac disease, an allergy to gluten. I notified my waitress Sara and she brought a chef to my table who walked me through all the food stations at the buffet. It was actually a fun experience, lots of gluten! But lots of gluten free too!! My family ate the dinner buffet and there were many fresh options. Lots of raw and grilled veggies, various fresh salads, fruit, grilled meats. I had grilled broccolini and rainbow carrots with their "catch of the day," seasoned beautifully. I did not leave feeling frustrated or bored. The baked potato and sweet potato bar are worth noting too, lots of fun toppings like real bacon, brown sugar, jalapeños and cute little butter balls. Side note, lots of fried country style foods an Asian section, cold cuts, dessert area, and the list goes on. The chef offered to make me a flourless chocolate cake to substitute dessert. The chef also helped us also with my husband's pork allergy, the staff was great! Lastly, all of the pretty fruit and flower salad decor throughout was a nice touch and the restaurant was very clean. Horrible service! Came for a child's birthday and promised ahead of time they'd make them feel really special; Not even a song; even after I reminded 3 different times. We were finished with our meal after 35 minutes; waited around for an hour and 13 minutes before we finally gave up that they weren't even taking our check let alone singing to our kid. OVER PRICED, OVER PROMISED, take your birthday to Texas Roadhouse! They always deliver a good, swift birthday that's child friendly. Don't come if you have kids or are celebrating a birthday. This is a child driven resort, so the menu options are more for the child at heart. However, the food was hearty and fresh! Considering the kids barely ate because they wanted to play, the price is very fair for 10 years and younger. Servers were always cleaning or assisting customers. The food was very good, however we had the worst service I have ever experienced. We were seated at 630pm, the server took our orders for food and drinks, brought our drinks promptly, but at 720pm we still had no dinner. The server never came back in the 50 min we sat there to see if we wanted drink refills. My husband finally got up and asked the hostess if she could find our server. The server came over and told us she wasbchecking on our food and said the would have it ready in a minute. She walked over to the computer, clearly was keying in our order, and then left. She still didn't ask if we wanted drink refills. She brought our food and it was wrong. Just such horrible service! read more
