This was a very unpleasant experience and this was the 1st we visited this restaurant. First, we were told the wait would be 15-20 minutes. After 30 minutes we checked and were told it would be an additional 25 minutes. All the while ppl where coming and going. Checked again twice and after we expressed our frustration at the wait, we were seated immediately. Server came over pretty quick and got our drink orders and brought them fairly quickly. Asked for a different creamer for the coffee. It was never brought after asking an additional server. I got up and found it at another table myself. Did i mention we orderd food after she brought the drinks. During the ordering process, i was told they didnt have options that were still listed on the menu...oh well. By this point we are an hour and half in and haven't seen food. At the 2 hour mark we opted to leave. I'm good to never go back. read more

I have been to all the First Watch places in the Richmond area. All three of them (short pump, Willow Lawn, and Parham-by Big Wiskey/Starbucks), they are all very good. Service is fast and friendly. The only thing I ever get is the Kale Power Bowl for breakfast. I have always had very good experiences. I even went to one in Midlothian that was super busy, the wait was soooo long. The food was good, nicely presented blueberry pancake, and the turkey sausage links was tasty, except for one that seemed to have been a dryout leftover from an earlier in the day. But, the meal was ruined by the weak coffee. I havent had coffee that weak since....the last time I had stack of pancakes for abt a 1/3 of what I paid for this. And this coffee was $4!!! A simple but tasty breakfast with tasteless coffee for $20 (including tip). Nonsense. The staff was nice, but I wont be back. read more

Absolutely fantastic food. We got there shortly before closing for the day so I was a bit surprised when not only did they seat us but he was happy to seat us. We got super prompt service and the food came very quickly. I got the short rib poutine hash and million dollar bacon while my sister got half the Monterey club and half the honey pecan salad. Both of us completely enjoyed our meals. The short rib poutine was rich and delightful while the bacon was crisp but flavorful. The salad was rich in flavor, not too sweet, with a little crunch; very well rounded. The sandwich was a basic club sandwich except the avacado was thinly sliced but perfectly proportioned. The lemon mayo was the perfect addition to the sandwich. The portions were fantastic for the price. We both ate for about 35$. Great choice if you are in the area. read more

After eating in my local First Watch in Aurora, CO, twice, we decided to try the one in Williamsburg out. It was a terrific choice. I had eaten locally before, but not my husband. He was in for a treat. He decided to order a turkey wrap with salsa and fruit. My totally new favorite is the avocado toast with eggs and an order of Million Dollar Bacon. Every single thing about this experience was exactly as my local shop. The personnel were just as friendly, the food was equally as good, and the ambience was the same. Our server, Amanda, was friendly and attentive. Since we were here from out of town, we exchanged some personal information. For us, that makes the experience more personal. All in all, the food will keep us returning to our site in Aurora, CO. It isn't likely that we will be in Williamsburg again. But, this breakfast will remain in the food highlights of our visit there. read more

Ambiance: Reading the reviews, I wasn't sure about trying the Williamsburg location, BUT the reviewers must be trying to keep that location all to themselves because unlike the NN location this one was calm, not overcrowded and unbelievably quiet!! Made me never want to go to NN again! It's First Watch, of course the food is going to be good!! My usual side of bisquits and turkey sausage gravy was hot and delicious, per usual!! We decided to try this place on the occasion of my Bride's birthday. When I get seated by a nice lady who gives me my own pot of coffee, lunch is off to a promising start. And it's pretty good coffee, too. Darling Bride was provided with a decent selection of teas and a carafe with enough hot water for a couple of cups. Despite having water glasses on the table, we never were offered any water. I can't help but feel that this is a chain aimed at hipsters. From the tractor seats and faux antique windows on the walls to the inlaid custom medallion proclaiming that our table was "crafted using sustainably harvested white ash," to the faux Edison lamps, everything about the place screams "we're so cool!" And, like most such places, it's on the noisy side. But that's due largely to the fact that it was *really* busy, which is generally a good sign, especially since there are about a million other restaurants within spitting distance. We ordered two dishes- a roast beef and havarti sandwich and a SoCal Burrito. The sammich comes with a side of greens, though we were offered soup as a substitution at no charge. The greens are lightly anointed with a delicate lemon vinaigrette. The horseradish sauce really compliments the sandwich, which is piled with roast beef, creamy Havarti, roasted red peppers, and greens. The outside of the sandwich is encrusted with fried cheese- a delicious touch! I'm glad that we ate the sandwich first, as the burrito arrived at such a blistering heat that I was afraid for my fingers! The fresh fruit cup contained honeydew, red grapes, and strawberry pieces. They were a little stingy with the green salsa, but the massive handful of egg whites, avocado, pico de gallo, kale, black beans, chicken, etc. was enough without it. I'm sorry to say, it's evidently a limited-time offer. Otherwise, I'd add it to my stable of regular dishes. The price for lunch was a pretty reasonable $28.04, including Williamsburg's outrageous meal tax, before tip. Service was excellent, accurate, and fast. If only they would hang some drapery to cut the noise, I would give them 5 stars. As it is, they're a solid 4. I'll be back. read more

Does Williamsburg really need another brunch place? Actually, maybe. While this place has pancakes, the wealth of not-fully-carb options provides something new to the breakfast scene here. There's so many great brunches around, but for affordability and a more relaxed atmosphere, the field is thinner. If you have kids and don't want to go to a pancake house, this is the place for you. Call ahead, because timing is everything! Right after we ordered, half of Williamsburg showed up and the line was out of the door. Despite that, service was good and the food came surprisingly quickly. Juice options are made fresh every morning, and the winter seasonal offering with cranberry and pomegranate is amazing. The food options aren't mind-blowing but everything was good. I've had their "chickichangas" before and I prefer them with more of a kick than here. The gluten free and low carb options are appreciated. If you're thinking about the potatoes, pull the trigger and just do it. They were the highlight. The bacon is also great, if you don't mind the sweetness. I would've loved a little more spice there to balance it out, but I still could've eaten about 50 pieces. read more

Their menu is creative w lots of tasty dishes and flexibility to address your specific requests or substitutions. We love First Watch. Our first meal was at the Charlottesville restaurant and then found out the chain is in the Tidewater area as well. Wbg is our favorite location and one of the reasons is John. He is so friendly and he anticipates our needs. The food here is consistently delicious, comes out at the right temp and in a reasonable amount of time. My fav is the eggs florentine. After hearing about First Watch, I decided to give it a try. Honestly was not disappointed. I went for breakfast on a weekend day morning and had no wait. I was greeted by polite staff and was seated in booth. There are open tables and booths available. Also, tables can be moved together to accommodate groups. The restaurant was neat and bright. Tables were clean and ready for customers. There were plenty of specials on a chalk board and lots of breakfast choices. They have some very delicious fresh juice bar choices available. The wait staff was very efficient and courteous and my food was served hot and quickly. Food was fresh and delicious. I recommend their frittatas and avocado toast, tasty and delicious. The atmosphere in the dining made it feel open and spacious with its many large windows and décor. Prices are reasonable and portions are good sized. Visited for breakfast 2 days in a row, tried the pancakes, waffle, power bowl, chickichanga, and the coffee. The pancakes and waffle were great! The chickichanga was also great and had good flavor. The coffee options are brewed coffee or iced coffee, there are no espresso based options available. The power bowl was okay, the quinoa was watery and needed some seasoning and flavor. However the toppings were great. The coffee options were just okay. If you like super sweet coffee then its a great option, however it was much too sweet for us. So, this is painful to write as this is not my first experience at First Watch here in Williamsburg. Used to be a good meal with even better service. Not sure what happened, but today's visit was really disappointing. A less than engaged hostess, a nice but really clueless server, and an extreme lack of initiative all the way around. Seated right away but were there for about an hour or so based on the wait for our food. I believe they were short staffed in the kitchen just based on how long it took. I've been to other locations that were much faster and had better service (our server only came by twice the whole time) and our cups for coffee on the table were dirty. The Williamsburg, VA location has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Ordered a delivery and it was sent to the wrong address even though I put the correct address on my order. So I tried calling the restaurant 4 separate times and nobody answered, the phone literally just kept ringing and ringing. And this is on a Tuesday morning, so not even one of their busiest days! The dish was topped with raw spinach and a couple of anemic supermarket tomato slices. I was so thankful I didn't get Salmonella from the eggs. Amanda was our waitress and she was awesome and super attentive. Great service from her! Love the atmosphere farmhouse style. You won't be disappointed in the food.
