We decided to get breakfast on Sunday, at around 10AM. First Watch does not take reservations, however, you are able to add your name to the waitlist using their app. (While using their app, it did have a glitch and never confirmed we were on the waitlist. But when we used another phone and put the same info it informed us that we were already on the list, so it did go through!). We ended up having to wait about 5 minutes once we arrived, but were seated before some people who were already there, so I would definitely recommend using their apps, especially on the weekends! Parking was a little difficult. The lot itself is shared with nearby businesses and some spots are reserved for certain places or for customers that would be in and out in 10 minutes. However, this would probably be a good sign for those trying to see whether it's busy or not. If there's no parking, the wait is probably long. The place itself has a nice, rustic but modern/chic farmhouse style to it. There are plenty of menu options plus they have specials! The wait for our food (party of 4) was 20-25 minutes but considering every table was full, it was not too bad of a wait. I ordered the farmhouse skillet hash with scrambled eggs ($11). The potatoes were under seasoned and there was a bit too much onions and peppers for my taste, but overall it was tasty and had your breakfast staples. I loved that the little fruit cup that was included in the meal had a variety of fruits (pineapple, strawberry, green + purple grapes, honeydew melon). For anyone that loves Mexican food, I stole a couple bites from my boyfriend's chickichanga ($11) and loved it (and was feeling some regret in my choices)! Since First Watch in Wynnewood opened, I have heard nothing, but great things. So today, I finally decided to stop in for myself. I went up to the front desk and was immediately seated in a nice, comfortable booth. Almost immediately, our waiter came over and asked us for our drink orders. I decided to order an orange juice. The orange juice came out fairly fast, but I was fairly disappointed in it. The orange juice, did not taste fresh squeezed, which I feel like should be a must for a place that specializes in breakfast. After that, I decided to order their Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast. It came out fast and very hot. I first started off with the pumpkin pancake, it was large and fluffy. Best of all, the pumpkin spice flavor was good, but not overbearing. Soon after that, I had the eggs and chicken sausage that came with it. They were both pretty good, but I really liked the chicken sausage! For the whole time, our waiter made sure everything was going well, which was very nice! My only major concern was that when paying my check, I had to go to the front desk, which was also seating people. I wish they changed that process. First watch is overall very good. For the area it is big enough to have reasonably quick seating at peak breakfast time. The food is great. Recently had a truffle mushroom frittata with lemon arugula with fresh fruit and a baguette toast. $10.59. Really good portion, hot, fresh. If I had one area that the tracks slightly from the experience is when you arrive, you have to wait in line to put your name in for a table. Likewise when you leave, you have to get into that same line to pay your bill. Therefore, when coming and going, I have to wait in the same line to get in and to get out. If you do happen to go at a busy time, you might wait in line 5 to 8 minutes to get your name in, and an additional 5 to 10 minutes just to pay. Seems like there should be a slightly more efficient way for the customer, rather than for the restaurant. read more

When I asked to speak with the manager, he said "It's just ants! If you want to be reseated, it'll take awhile." Very pleased with the offerings at First Watch, and happy to see them in our area! Alghough its a bit crazy how these things are popping up like starbucks! I've stopped in several times and have enjoyed my meal each time. Service was spotty at first(it is a newer place), but my most recent visit things went without a hitch. I find myself ordering the TriFecta every time...Pancake or waffle, 2 eggs, breakfast meat...and a side of toast, which is quite tasty, and comes pre-buttered! They also include some jam or jelly with the toast which is bangin'! You only get 2 slices of bacon, but the bacon is fairly thick cut and pretty good! My eggs, over easy, have come out over easy every time I've been there. I also like the carafe of water they leave on the table, so refills are easy! First Watch has community tables, which I sat at for the first time my last visit. I sat alone at the table, but they generally do try to space you out when there are other guests sharing the table... For the most part, this has been my "overflow" place when the wait at Sabrina's is too long, but those tasty waffles do call to me... The food here is really good, it is usually crowded though mostly because they close around 2:30. I would suggest using their app to get on the waitlist. It's usually packed in there so it's usually pretty loud and the kitchen isn't separated from the main dining area so that adds to the noise. Its not too bad but if you're looking for a quiet restaurant to have a chat might not be the right place. As I said the food is really good and there are a lot of vegetarian options. I got brunch at First Watch on a Sunday afternoon. We were a table of 7 so we called ahead and the hostess said there was a 20 minute wait. We asked to put our names down over the phone because we were on our way and we were told the only way to put our name on the list was via their app. When we arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes later, the wait turned into 45-50 minutes. We decided to wait since we were such a large party we knew the wait would be similar elsewhere. We were seated about 30 minutes into our wait! When we got to our table our waitress Kathy greeted us very kindly. She was PHENOMENAL. Very attentive, and made sure she understood what we wanted. A few things are contributing to my two-star review... The first issue is that a runner brought a meal to our table and sat it down in front of me after I told her I did not order it. She walked away. I made eye contact with a waitress who was serving 2 out of 3 dishes to a nearby table, and made the realization that the plate in front of me was for one of her customers. She came over and grabbed the plate from me, visibly angry. Moments later she took the same plate over to the person who ordered it. Now typically I would find this completely unacceptable, however the amount of time the kitchen was taking to produce very simple breakfast items made me understand why the waitress would not want to have the order remade. This paired with the fact that I did not touch the meal, so it was not in any way compromised. Regardless, this should not happen. The second issue I had with First Watch was the fact that they sent out our meals 2 at a time. I got my meal first and waited about 15 minutes for everyone at the table to be served. I ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich and requested no mayo. It came out without mayo, however my egg was overcooked and my potatos were cold. It was very clear they had made my meal before even contemplating starting the other meals for our table. Multiple items came out cold and incorrectly. Scrambled eggs cold, tacos without sour cream, etc. I was frustrated and sent my sandwich back asking for the egg to be cooked the way it was advertised on the menu. I had a feeling that my sandwich would come out with mayo, which it did. I realize that this request slightly complicated things, but when you pay $10 for a breakfast sandwich it should come out correctly. A friend sent back their cold scrambled eggs only to have another dish of lukewarm eggs come back the second time. At this point, we had waited so long to eat, we ate what was in front of us so we could get out of there. This was so disappointing. The food was pretty good, our waitress Kathy was amazing, but the kitchen was an absolute disgrace. I witnessed multiple wait staff members apologizing to their tables. At the end of the meal, nothing was done to compensate for the fact that we had such a horrible experience which is why I am leaving this review. We had to pay at the front with the hostess. This added to my frustration because there was a long line of people waiting to put their name in, to be seated, and trying to pay. There was only one hostess. Came here for an early brunch recently. So glad they were open at 7 AM! The menu had lots of breakfast options- pancakes, omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, eggs benedict, etc. There were also some fresh juices that were super yummy. I had the morning market vegetable omelette, which came with a side of fresh buttered bread, jam, and fruits (could also get potatoes or a side salad if you want). There potatoes are heavily salted the turkey sausages were the skin of the sausages were blackened not supposed to be burnt like that at all. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone at all. If I have to give a number I will say a 3 For a good food experience I will be staying with The Springfield Diner I rate them a 10 and were food is not heavily salted nor the turkey sausage burnt with Blackened skin but cooked just right. They need to lighten up on the heavy salted seasoning. There could be customers that have dietary issues and can not have a heavily seasoned food at all leave salt and pepper shakers on the table so the customers can season to their own taste. Good food, mediocre service. I entered the restaurant to put our party's name on the list, and was confronted with a jumble of people, some waiting to pay their bill, some also trying to add their names to the list, some just waiting to be seated. The hostess was pleasant but harried. My friend and I got a seat very quickly because we opted to sit at the communal table, which is first come, first served. Our food took a long time to arrive, but once it did, the avocado toast was good (with a generous amount of avocado), and the cheesy grits were excellent - some of the best I've had. If I came back, I'd probably try the Greek yogurt with homemade granola and fresh fruit. But I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back here when there are so many more appealing options in Philadelphia. And it rubbed me the wrong way how all the employees seemed to operate under the assumption that service was going to be poor. So aside from the food I am still a little disappointed by the service. It didn't seem that busy yet it still took forever. I've been to First Watch before in Virginia, but I have not tried my local First Watch so I figured I'd give it a shot. I went for brunch with a friend on a Friday. The service was great and our food came out promptly. We both ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich. It was awesome. I actually attached a picture of this below. I believe this was an egg, bacon, gruyere cheese with avocado, arugula and a bit of mayo. I would absolutely order this again. It also came with potatoes but I actually took those home because I couldn't finish them. We shared the million dollar bacon, which I would absolutely get again. And we shared a chocolate chip pancake. These are huge and you definitely can share them! I would absolutely come back again. I believe this is my first one star review and it is well-warranted. This was, by far, the worst dining experience I have had in years, here is why: -It took an hour and twenty minutes for our food to get to the table. No exaggeration. Four tables around us left before they were served because of the wait. -The restaurant was so cold that everyone inside had their jackets on. I literally lost feeling in my fingers. We were told that the "manager" would not turn down the AC. -We were checked in on once during the hour and twenty minute wait. No one came to us to apologize for the food delay. We had two children in our party and the waiter offered to bring us toast for them but then never brought it. -When we finally got our meals, after bringing attention to multiple staff members, they came out one at a time over the span of 20 minutes. One of our guests never even received his meal. -The food was cold when it came out. None of us were satisfied with our food and it looked like it was literally thrown onto the plate (see photo) While the staff let us know that the manager was out on vacation, there was literally zero excuse for the entirety of our negative experience. I will add that one of the staff offered to comp our entire meal. I wish they would have been upfront with all guests about the wait rather than doing damage control afterwards. Enjoyed a really nice breakfast here today. 10:15 on a Friday morning it was busy but not packed. We were promptly seated and our server Autrea quickly took our drink orders. My wife ordered coffee and it came with a selection of creams and sugars. My tea service came with a number of flavors to select from. Both tea and coffee were in carafes to keep them hot. Our server quickly took our order. She was very friendly and attentive. A bottle of water was also provided for our table. I ordered the Avocado Toast and basted eggs which was delicious. The toast was thick cut toasted whole grain topped by a generous portion of fresh avocado and a lemon wedge. The basted eggs were absolutely perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of runny yolk. My side of potatoes was good. The French toast was a generous portion of brioche also cooked just right with a side of strawberry jam and warm maple syrup. I noticed people at the next table had huge omelettes and Belgian waffles with a special sweet spicy bacon which I have to try on our next visit. All in all a very enjoyable breakfast. I love First Watch and I have been to so many of their locations. I went on the weekend and I expected it to be crowded. I was deciding between going to the Villanova location and the Wynnewood location, so I looked at the wait time on the app. The wait in Villanova was almost and hour and Wynnewood was 15 minutes. This seemed like a no brainer, until I tried to park there. They have such a tiny parking lot, which they shared with Starbucks. On the weekends Starbucks and any breakfast place is mobbed. I don't know why they would put them in the same area. There were a ton of people waiting in the lot for people to leave to get a spot and few empty 10 minute spots. Obviously, eating at First Watch was going to take more than 10 minutes. I circled the lot a few times before I just parked in another lot and walked. The food was the same as the other locations, which is good. I ordered the special, the flank steak and eggs and it was tasty. The service was good too. They only have one person checking people in and out, which can make it a little bit crazy. I don't understand when businesses open locations in the suburbs with not a lot of parking. Thankfully, I didn't get towed, but it was kind of annoying. If you are coming on a weekend, just be warned. read more

Having previously lived in Cincinnati we were familiar with First Watch, and looked we looked forward to the opening of this store. I give food 3-4 stars and service 2 stars. The food appears to be fairly consistent across locations. The menu options are plenty, and I always enjoy the food. We've been at this location about five times. With the exception of one time, the service has been consistently poor. That's good service 1 out of 5 times. Like our visit this morning, we waited for at least 10 minutes before asking someone for coffee and to place an order. And, like today, there was no apology offered for the delay despite at least seven severs standing in the kitchen area. In fact, our serve said, "I can see you are ready to order because your menus are on the table." We wanted to say, "Nope, we are ready to order because we've had ample time to look at them!" After our food arrived we had to flag someone down to get syrup for our pancakes. Then, after we had finished eating, we waited for about 5-7 minutes for someone to offer our check, so we just proceeded to the register. At the register we waited just a couple of minutes while the person seated a table and returned. I told her we hadn't received our check but pointed to our table. She said, "let me wait on the person behind you since he has his check and then I will go get yours." Really? None of these things I have described on their ow. would really warrant a complaint post for me, but the service at this location is just consistently poor! We do enjoy the food, but there are so many other places to go in the area for good breakfast such as The Kettle in Havertown which is very close and always delicious with good service and it is locally owned and operated! Update 9/8/2019: We've been here several times since my first post. Food is usually dependable. Service is usually slow and somewhat inattentive. I've been here a quite few times now, with friends and family. The food is always delicious, from breakfast to lunch. The Roast beef sandwich is one of my favorites; it's toasted to perfection. The coffee is some of the best I've had. Not too strong and not too mild, with creamer and sugar of course ( but that's how I like my coffee)! The service is pretty good; we usually don't have to wait long for a table, even on busy weekends and the food arrives within a timely manner after ordering. One thing I would say is I feel a bit rushed when the check arrives. They tend to bring it before we are done eating and then I feel rushed to finish. Unfortunately, my family's first pick for brunch (Sabrina's Cafe) was too busy, so we settled for First Watch which was just across the street. My family and I were seated almost immediately even though most of the tables were occupied, so that was nice. Waiter visited our table soon afterwards, and we got to place our orders within 5-10 minutes. Food arrived about 20-25 minutes later. Ambiance: cutesy rustic decor but urbanized in a way that felt like whoever designed the interior, didn't actually grow up in a rural area; it felt sanitized--inauthentic. There's Cracker Barrel on one end of the "country" spectrum, and then there's this restaurant on the other. Chalkboards advertising menu items were a nice touch. My only issue is the high ceilings made it impossible to have a conversation at regular volume. They should consider installing sound absorbers of some sort, because I had to speak almost twice as loud in order to be heard by the people at my table. Food: I ordered the veggie sandwich with tomato basil soup. Long story short, would not recommend. For someone who loves veggies but loves cheese less, I didn't really enjoy it; over half of the sandwich was mozzarella(?) cheese, and they completely skimped on the mushrooms, zuccs, spinach, etc. I get that they probably used a lot of cheese to act as the "glue," but they certainly used way more than necessary. My recommendation is that they sub chopped mushrooms for wider slices of mushrooms because they would have stayed in the sandwich better. I would say it only had a few leaves of spinach; could have used at least twice as much. The one redeeming thing about the sandwich was the multigrain bread: it was very flavorful on its own and had an excellent variety of grains ingrained in it (lol). Overall, 90% of the sandwich was bread and cheese. Tomato basil soup was all right, maybe just a tad too salty. For a restaurant that brands its healthiness, this food didn't quite hit the mark. As a vegetarian who usually eats plant-based, this place isn't really ideal. A lot of the options include meat, eggs, and dairy, and I'd rather just have a couple solid options that don't require any alterations. For example, Sabrina's has a tofu scramble that's very popular (First Watch, take notes). My parents also weren't huge fans of their food; both of them said theirs were "all right." My mom had gotten the French toast and was disappointed by the lack of batter on the bread. She even suggested it tasted like the pieces were pre-made, which wouldn't surprise me considering how it looked (neither appealing nor unappealing). Overall, the place seems okay (3/5).
