This husband and wife team does a great job and serves tasty food. The communication is a bit difficult between the language barrier and the plexiglass separating us from the staff. Asian restaurant have great instructions for mainland China on how to protect against viruses. I especially loved having to slide my credit card through a three inch slot in the wall protected by a little door covering the opening. I appreciate their concern for safety but find it quite amusing. To get past the communication barrier, I find it helpful to grunt and point as I order. What this is, is very very good strip-mall Chinese. It's probably not authentic but it's very good at what it is. The couple who run it are very super-nice and careful about your order. I have been going here for 4 months, because they're open until late and it is close to my apartment. Their price is fair for what you get. The food is alright but its cheap so I think its fair. If the lady is working, walk away. She will not answer you questions and will ignore you, even. I'm compelled to review this place, which usually means they did something really good... Or really bad. In this case it's both. We drive from Ct to Chicago a couple times a year and stop in Perrysburg. More or less every time we pickup dinner at First Wok. The food is decent, not amazing, but solid take out Chinese food. The attitude of the owners is a little shocking... I'm a friendly, smiley kinda guy, and since we are staying in a hotel, I kindly asked for chop sticks, napkins, and duck sauce. Each request was met with a snarl and something in Chinese that I can only imagine was (f--- this guy). In the end I got 1 packet if duck sauce and 2 napkins for two entrees... I don't get what the big deal is, but we'll be trying a different place next time. read more

So I'm over at Scottrade next door and I need to grab a quick lunch. I've never heard of 1st Wok before, but their window sign boasting of a $4.99 lunch buffet drew me in like a moth to a flame. The dining room is small and the buffet is tiny, but all the essentials are there: General Tso's chicken, black pepper chicken, sweet and sour chicken, teriyaki chicken on a stick, egg rolls, egg drop and hot and sour soups, etc. It's small buffet that covers the basics, but nothing stood out as being particular good or bad. It was all mediocre. Not "mediocre" as in "bad", just middle-of-the-road Chinese food that I've had at dozens of places before. Some of the foods were a bit too cold after sitting out too long, but none of it was terrible. The service is non-existent. You pay and seat yourself. If you want a drink, you buy bottles or cans from a cooler at the counter. If you just want water, you serve yourself from a warm pitcher of water next to the buffet. I'm assuming they clear plates after you leave because no one came while I was eating. But hey, what do you expect for $4.99? And that is selling point of 1st Wok. The food is very average, but with a super cheap buffet, they may have found their niche. Is this a great place to get Chinese food? Well, no. Is it worth $4.99? You bet. In all truthfulness though, I'd probably rather spend a couple more bucks and go to China City Buffet just down the road for more selection and fountain drinks. read more

Tried carry out from here after living in Perrysburg and have since ordered it on a weekly basis. Great (expected) Chinese food, quick, and cheap cost wise. Have to pay/ask for additional sauces (didn't know first time). Also while you are waiting there is complimentary green tea. PS the Sesame Chicken is great! read more

The food was actually delicious.. Some of the best take out I have had.. The counter person is grumpy and not understandable.. I wanted 2 hot oils (my fav part). She was obsessed with the .35 each.. We went there for dinner today. They had water in a pitcher. It was warm. When I asked for ice, the lady told me 'No ice'. She didn't even offer to re-fill the pitcher with cold water from the tap. When she brought out our appetizer, she didn't even bring out a plate.... We had to walk over to the buffet area to get one. I ordered the orange chicken and 60% of the plate was brown rice.... I'm actually surprised someone said the people who run the 1st Wok in Perrysburg are nice. I've gotten take out from them several times, but have only eaten in the restaurant twice. Both times they gave us dirty looks the entire time we ate, and they hid the silverware for some reason, and acted annoyed when I asked for another set. Maybe they wanted us to share a fork? Our family has impeccable manners, and all we got in return were rude stares. I though the first time they hid the silverware that it was just a fluke, but they did it again today and then spoke in Chinese to each other, staring at us rudely while we ate.
