Food wise The chicken was pretty good. Reminds me of the chicken my mother fries at home which is delicious. The catfish... Idk this is only the 2nd time I've tried catfish so all I can say is I wasn't a fan of this one. They have super delicious hush puppies and house made tartar sauce, and my friend had the crab balls which he said were delicious. Oh, also we tried the gumbo and it was really good but it has a kick to it (gotta love them spices) The tilapia is okay. It was so hot that it was pretty much pasty inside. The batter they use reminds me of a southern/Cajun style corn meal batter, it's pretty good but not great. Oh! & The shrimps are pretty big and really delicious. On the other hand, the onion rings, I wouldn't bother with them. They are big onion rings deep fried but they leave the skin on the onion so it gives it a "different" taste. I had been skeptical about trying this place since they moved into the strip center. I purchased a Groupon thinking, what do I have to lose. Well they did not disappoint! We purchased 2 of the 3 fish and fries baskets and a kids popcorn shrimp. Everything is cooked to order so it's hot and fresh, worth the wait for sure! Not a long wait though.....the popcorn shrimp weren't popcorn at all. I'd say they were medium shrimp, nothing like you'd expect. The fish is very good, fresh and doesn't taste frozen at all. Decent price for pick 2 which came with more than I thought. I got the catfish and chicken tenders with a side of fried rice. Food comes out fresh and hot. I also forgot to add that they sneak in a small garlic bread into your plate. They hid mine under the tartar sauce. Tenders come with sauce they bring it to you. I didn't even get to finish my whole meal. I had left overs to bring home. Once you're done eating if you do choose to eat there they pick up your plate and thank you. Had been eating there several times a week and food was usually good. Last visit food tasted like it was fried in old grease, and was not good at all, and fries were half raw. Also we asked for a couple of extra tartar sauces and after looking at my receipt at home saw they charged $.50 extra for the sauces. They only give you one tartar sauce about the size of a thimble, with a 3 piece meal which is ridiculous. Worst of all we were not told there was an extra charge for the sauce. Tried this place twice. First I like to say that it's nice to have another option in this area. It's somewhat similar to the fish place but I like that they also have wings. The customer service A+ here. The managers really want to make the customers satisfied. The food takes a while to prepare its not fast food so prepare for that. I tried the wings (buffalo and Korean). The wings come breaded which I personally prefer unbreaded so the second time I asked for unbreaded and they obliged. The sauce in the Korean wings is really nice so I definitely recommended that. I also tried the fried catfish, shrimp, and tenders. All ok no complaints. They're finally open!! And let me say, not a moment too soon! It's bright, clean, and the workers are very friendly and professional. I got the fried platter where you could choose 2 different items. I got 3 pieces of catfish, 3 shrimp, and the hush puppies. The hush puppies weren't that great. They didn't really have any flavor. But the shrimp was the best part, then the catfish. Tiny pieces of sausage, shredded chicken and bite size shrimps. Others might complain of the size of the sausage and shrimp but it was perfect for me. The batter had some seasoning to it, and it wasn't too fishy at all. The rice was very well done and not mushy like some Chinese restaurants serve it. My daughter had the shrimp and they were pretty big. The only downside is that the pick one combo of shrimp only comes with 3 shrimp so we had to order a pick two for her. We have a large family and spent what we would have going to a fast food restaurant. From po boys to fish and chicken plates, to three meat plates, to kids popcorn chicken, it was all really good.
