Food: We had peel and eat shrimp appetizer, stuffed flounder, blackened snapper (board special), and jalapeno blackened fish tacos (board special). All the food was very good. Service: Never a good sign when you wait around a several minutes before anyone even shows up to give you waters and take drink orders. One of us ordered a glass of wine in our initial interaction with the server. He did not receive that glass of wine until he was about 2/3 done eating his meal (and we'd had an appetizer course too). I didn't receive my food until the other 2 were almost done eating their meals. We were rarely checked on for drink refills/rounds, and one of us was brought unsweet tea multiple times after asking for sweet each time. While the server was definitely not attentive enough to the table, many of these issues may not be his fault. May have also been bar, management, kitchen, all of the above. To their credit, once the issue with my food showing up so late was realized, they did remove that item from our bill. Summary: Stuff happens from time to time. Maybe this was a one-off bad experience. But for my time, money, and taste buds, there are better options for seafood in Allen that I've visited many times and never had an experience like this. read more

The fish and chips are outstanding and generally our go to meal . on our last trip fries portion of the fish and chips were heavily over salted, but they replaced them to our satisfaction. Service is good and usually there is not a line to get in. It's nice to sit on the patio when the weather is accommodating.. I wish they were devein their shrimp, but that's my personal choice. This is the first time for us to try FCG even though it has been here for awhile. Service is probably the first thing people think about. Remember this on a Friday and we just lifted the mask mandate. Service is going to be slower, if you want fast go to McDonald's. Our server was just fine, did not rush us, was friendly and courteous. Food was served fresh. Loved the fried pickles, but then the main course came to the table. The sea bass was delicious and I love the snow peas . My wife had the shrimp and crab flounder. This place is AMAZING The staff was very friendly also the manager was very nice. We ate there on a rainy day and I observed the manager opening the door for the customers that were coming in . I thought that was so great. Our server Maddie was very attentive and polite our food was perfect and our drinks were strong . The inside of the establishment was very clean and the environment was definitely a vibe ! The manager came over twice and asked us how was the food and to make sure that we were well taken care of. I will definitely bring my family here to eat again. And to top it all off while I was there I signed up for their email club and a few days later I received a postcard in the mail from our server Maddie that was so cool. Was so excited to try food here. Ordered to go. Online ordering only allows you to set pre pick up times, and they prepare your food way beforehand. Out of the pick 3 platter, you cannot double up on a particular item. I picked up my food at said time in 40 degree wind blowing weather. Get home, and the one item i wanted double of off the platter was missing from order completely. Then the food was cold. So i did not even finish meal because who likes cold fries and fried fish. Restaurant didnt tell me they didnt have oysters or oysters not in order. Then when I finished eating what I did, looked in bag. There were no napkins, knives, or anything... piss poor performance for to go orders. Never order to go here. Dine in my be better but to go is straight trash. Like hot boo boo trash. read more

was our first time in to Fish City Grill. We were seated on the patio where the host assured us that it was warm with the heaters.It might have been warm if the role up barrier was all the way to the floor but it stopped about a foot and a half from floor. We asked the waitress "Kylie" about that and she tried to lower it but it would not go all the way down leaving cold air coming in on our legs. The seats were also damp from rain. She did not even ask if we would prefer to move to another table when one came available. We ordered and a couple who were seated at another table after us were able to order and have their food half eaten before we got food delivered to us. We ordered roasted jalapeño soup and gumbo. The roasted jalapeño soup was excellent and the gumbo was better than most places around here. We ordered fish and chips and lobster and shrimp grilled cheese. The fish seemed to have set out waiting for delivery to the table therefore it was not crisp and not as warm as I expected.The sandwich my wife ordered was good. We saw our waitress a total of 3 times at the table once to order once to fill tea and once to take payment. Another waitress filled our tea once and brought us the check.we had to ask for the check after waiting twenty minutes to ask for the check after we finished eating. We will try this restaurant again with the hope that the wait staff is more attentive. read more

Fish City Grill at Watter's Creek was a great find! The varied, interesting menu made it really difficult to make a decision for lunch with my sister. Our waiter, Peyton, realized it was our first visit so he offered to bring us a soup sampler plate with a few oyster nachos--SO nice! What a treat this was! We enjoyed all the soups and loved the nachos as well, which surprised us because neither of us typically choose oysters as our seafood of preference. We ordered appetizers of calamari, teriyaki salmon bites, and chowder to share as our meal. We loved each one! The calamari was crispy, tender, and mild and the teriyaki bites were seasoned well with a slight sweetness. The chowder was nice and creamy without being fishy. We would order them all again! Fernando, the kitchen manager, came by our table several times to check on us and get feedback. Peyton and Fernando both provided outstanding customer service which made us feel so valued and special! Keep up the good work! read more

The food and service is good. I loke this place. With that said, some of the people that patronize this restaurant are racist. It seemed on two occasions white women gave me too much attention. It got to the point that I had to ask their husband/dates to intervene. It happened twice. One liked me too much and the other didn't feel I should be there. I'm at a loss. It was weird. One word... yum! I dined at FCG on Saturday, January 13. Bree our server and Fernando the manager were outstanding. The dining experience was top-notch. I love that they let you sample the soups and the oyster nachos as a First time diner. The food was on point. I had one of the specials listed on the board. It was filling and delicious! My mom loves oysters so she had a 10 count fried oyster plate with two sides. It wasn't on the menu but Bree made sure she told us she could definitely make it happen. We were blessed with a bread pudding and let me tell you the bread pudding is the chef's kiss - 10 out of 10. If you like bread pudding make sure to save room for it. Yelp is good with "directions". I say that cause she wanted seafood, then put it in the search and up came Fish City Grill, so we tried it out. Arrived about 7 pm on a Monday, place was about 1/3 full, so not that busy (typical Monday in restaurant biz). Quickly seated and our waitress showed us the specials on the wall, as well as talked up the menu. She was very well informed and did a great job. Our order, well she had the Fish & Chips with a Coke and I had the special, Blackened Wild Pacific Cod and a Sweet tea. While we waited, our waitress brought out a soup sampler (it was a little chilly out) and a couple of spicy fried shrimp. New England Clam Chowdah (yes, I'm from there), Gumbo, Roasted Jalapeno and Crab Bisque. All were awesome for sure! Really liked the Chowdah and Jalapeno. So with all the good to say here? Why only 4 stars? The "Blackened Cod"...didn't really have much blackening seasoning to it, and no I didn't send it back because it was very tasty as it was. I solved the issue by adding some Tabasco. No doubt they will get the 5th star on our next visit. Service was excellent. This place is absolutely phenomenal far above any of their other locations and a singularly excellent experience. We had the lobster and shrimp bacon grilled cheese, any bacon wrapped shrimp. We also had key lime pie for dessert and margaritas and hibiscus lemonade for drinks. The staff, bartenders and kitchen are at a level of excellence that is unparalleled at this price point in most of North Dallas. I go to Fish City Grill in Allen several times a week (you would think it would get old!). During the lunch hour I usually stick to their entree salads (House, Cobb, or Caesar) and add grilled chicken or salmon. In the evenings, I usually get their fish special because they always feature something different that I want to try and the fish is fresh. Their veggies are also really good and if there is ever a veggie I don't love, they are happy to switch it to one that I do. My kiddos love the Mac and Cheese, fried shrimp, and have fun with lightly seasoned crawfish in season. The staff knows the regulars pretty well, if you go back a second time, count yourself as one, and this makes it feel like a family/ community atmosphere. Sometimes (a lot of times!!!), I walk in to get a friendly dose of my favorite staff member Autumn who always senses my mood and provides a recommendation on what I should eat or drink. She doesn't work everyday, but check-in to see what her schedule is and definitely ask for her!!! Love the outdoor seating and outside bar too, great for bringing furry friends. I absolutely love this place, I've been going to the Richardson location since high school but since I moved to Allen & they opened up the Allen store and now they can't get rid of me. The manager Whitney is the sweetest thing ever, so genuine. I just love her. I always used to get the crawfish or shrimp étouffée but they updated their menu & they no longer carry it. Bummer BUT everything on the menu is great. My favorites besides the étouffée is the Shrimp & Grits or the Chipotle Shrimp Tacos. GREAT!! The calamari is a winning appetizer too.
