Wow!!! What a place for seafood. Abeyance is clean and the vibe is on par. The management is fantastic. Lunch is busy but easy to get good service. I've been back to back days now even with having a little issue the day before. The taster of all the soups is a great touch that made us want all of them. Everyone has an off day so I'm hoping that's what was happening during my visit. Family out for Sunday late lunch. The restaurant wasn't busy but looked like the rush had just left by the look of the restaurant. We were sat immediately and server greeted us shortly after. The server was very sweet but spoke in a very quiet voice and it was hard to understand what she was saying. Server got our drinks and went on to take order but seemed to be a bit lost. We asked for soups first but had to ask again and food came out one minute after. Food order was correct but quality was WAY below the quality we are used to. I had crab cake that was slightly burned on the bottom. The salad greens along with spinach my mom ordered was so salty it was inedible. I told server to let someone know but not sure she did as nothing else was offered to replace the salt fest. Our server ( great attitude) had started writing specials on the chalkboard so I had to get Togo boxes from someone at the expo area. I also asked for check from that person because the server was clearly focused on something other than her table. The bartender seemed to be hustling more than anyone else. I'm pretty sure I could identify a FOH manager as well as KM but no one ever came near our table. So clearly by my lingo, I am or was in the business but we in the biz people overlook a lot but $120 for that. I hope it gets better because it will haunt if not. read more

Long-time fan of Half Shells which is owned by the same company so went to Fish City in Allen for lunch. Food is the star here as with all their places. Fresh fish. Barramundi special was amazing. Their oyster nachos are legendary and did not disappoint. This setting in Allen is wonderful with both indoor and outdoor dining. Great vibe. So why not 5 stars? Service. No masks on staff whatsoever. And servers leaned in several time to hear us. Ok, I get it's Collin county but expected better standards from this chain. Other service issue was that while our server was cheerful and accurate, we told her we were in no hurry. Knowing that most places serve quickly at lunch we told her she could go slow with orders. Like talking to a wall. She asked for our order quickly (again after we told her we weren't in a hurry) and we barely finished our app and our food was served. Go for the food-worth it. Been going to this place as soon as it opened. We get our dogs groomed across the street so it's very convenient. Just now we wanted sit out side and enjoy the weather. But I couldn't figure out the umbrella, how to get it opened. The manager/ head cook...not sure came out and blamed me for breaking their umbrella. It would even open how did I break it. The Waters Creek location is awesome. Todays special Shrimp Triple BBQ shrimp, coconut shrimp with thai chili and the Appluwood Bacon wrap shrimp thrilled my husband. Food was very underwhelming and everything was overly salted which takes away from the fresh flavors of seafood. Salmon cooked of cedar plank was overly cooked and my fish and chips were quite oily without feeling crispy... at least fries should be good but they were just slightly soggy, thick fries that were again, underwhelming. The taste wasn't terrible, but what was terrible was how with every single spoonful came with around four tiny bits of shell, I'm assuming it's shell anyway, I don't want to think of what else it could have been. I have been back to this location twice since my last review and it has been amazing!! So...I must fo the right thing and redeem my last review! I really like the new general manager, Cooper. I respect how he walks around table to table talking to customers! The wait staff here is always phenomenal but I must give shout outs to Kayla and Autumn!
