Okay so this restaurant was recommended by a local. I always ask people in businesses I frequent for the best places to eat. This was one of two. It did not disappoint. I had the grilled white fish with crawfish sauce. It was amazing. Huge portion. One person in our group had the grouper which was special for the day and couldn't eat it all.I also had a sample of the swamp soup which sounds strange but is really amazing everyone at the table loved it, even the teenagers. My friends are in an archery tournament every year, this will be a place that they not only return to but will probably brag about. And for dessert we had the sweet thang beignet. You know when you walk into a place thinking the decor is tacky and the menu is xeroxed on yellow printing paper in a plastic report holder, that it can't possibly be good? Well that was me and boy was I wrong! The first page is of the popular and famous food choices including the OMG Shrimp Po'boy and Crawfish Torpedoes. Today's special was a crab and shrimp gumbo too and I am a sucker for southern Cajun food. SO I got a cup of the gumbo and the OMG banging shrimp po'boy. My soup came it first and it didn't look like much, but it was soooo flavorful. You wouldn't think that fried battered shrimp on a roll can taste this good too but dang!!! We went for lunch. Our server was friendly and attentive . There was a feeling of confusion with the cashier and with a male worker neither seemed "present". When checking us out they both were unfriendly and rushing us. I brought my Mama to be with her Camping group for the first time since my Daddy passed away 10 months ago. Great place for seafood. Swamp soup was great and different from anything I have had. I had fried fish and hubby had shrimp. We will go back. The fish was flounder I think with fries slaw hush puppies okra. It will fill you up. Fried Shrimp looked great. No complaints from us. read more

Seemed like a good local place to go to. Stew was flavorful and different, even my daughter loved it! Had the special pistol (basically seafood hot pocket). Overall was good and had pieces of seafood in it. Had to return the first one I received because it wasn't hot. Hush puppies were very good and flavorful! Our first time here, everything was fantastic. We were a little unsure at the beginning because there was a delay in greetings and the waitress came across as rude. But it was clear after we were seated that it was only a rush. She was amazing after seating us. The swamp soup was a really great surprise. After visiting the area over the past six summers, we finally made our way in. We ordered the cheeseburger and 6 fried shrimp. After the waitress took our order she said, "I'll be back with your swamp soup!" We glanced at one another and I said, "the should be interesting." To which, my husband agreed. Well, the soup was delicious. A must try if you stop in. The cheeseburger was wonderful. The fried shrimp and hush puppies were delicious. Great food. Great service. Best food! Best service! Ambiance could use a little work but we didn't even care because we enjoyed our experience so much! I would 10/10 recommend for everyone to go! The restaurant is a little strip mall joint but the food and service were EXCELLENT and super fast. Fried green tomato appetizer was great. Grilled fish was tasty. I ordered the OMG shrimp poboy and while the fried shrimp were very good and the crawfish sauce was excellent, it was served on a hot dog bun. As a NOLA native, they simply should have taken the extra step and used authentic NOLA French bread. Several restaurants and grocery stores in Gulf Shore offer it. Hot dog buns simple break apart. Nothing, and I mean nothing is a PoBoy unless you use real NOLA French bread. I'll go back and try another dish as the food was good. We were shopping in Foley, and decided to eat a late lunch. We were in the mood for seafood, and we wish we would have gone somewhere else. It wasn't bad, but we've had much better. The shrimp was not fresh Gulf shrimp. It clearly had a frozen taste. The alligator was ok. The service was prompt and our waitress was helpful. But the atmosphere and prices didn't match! It was dark, not very clean (bathrooms were pretty awful), or welcoming, and it looks very dingy. For a late lunch, our bill was pretty high. If I am going to spend nearly $80 on lunch, I would like to have a better view with clean surroundings. We stopped there due to the good reviews. It just wasn't that great. read more

Food is adequate, portions are minimal. Essentially no taste with grilled shrimp and fried oysters. Unidentified white fish was salty. Ambiance was nonexistent with uncomfortable booth benches. Service at the table was minimal but friendly, and the "pay at the front" girl was MIA for 15 minutes and then acted as if we were inconveniencing her. We walked into a packed restaurant and were seated promptly. The food came in a timely manner and we surprised at how large the portions were. It was all delicious. I would definitely say that if you're looking for a restaurant with the appeal of feeling at home with a delicious meal to eat this is the place for you.
