Got seated very quickly and what a view for dinner. Food was great and service was as well. Highly recommended by other guests at our resort and we concur! Will be a regular stop on our Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach vacations.

I ordered a very large platter for 8 people - to go and I was from out of town so I was not sure what to expect but they supplied all the supplies and PLENTY of food. It was amazing and fresh. I loved it.

We haven't been here in over 10 years and came in this evening for our anniversary. We sat in the bar area and met some of the locals. Tyrone was our bartender and he did an excellent job taking care of us. We started out with a dozen Raw Oysters. For dinner we split the Crab Cakes topped with Crawfish Tails and Remoulade. It also came with Potatoes, Corn on the Cob and Cole Slaw. We added a cup of Gumbo to go with it. Everything was delicious. Definitely the best meal we have had this week.

We always eat at this place when we come to the Gulf. Everything is so delicious and fresh. Everything is steamed no fried things here. The service is always amazing. And the ambience is nice and easy-going.

My husband and I absolutely love this place. Whenever we are in OB we come at least 2 times. Last night was our second time this week. The crab is always delicious and seasoned so well. Their clam chowder is one of my favorites and their coleslaw is so creamy. The service is always great. We've never had a bad experience here. Sometimes if you go on a weekend the wait time can be long but it's totally worth it!

We came here for lunch on our trip, and I had mixed expectations of the menu. I love snow crab, and was really anticipating a great meal. But all of their meals are steamed together with corn and potatoes at the same time (which in the northeast is more of a crab boil). This style of cooking makes everything taste the same - the corn tastes like potatoes and crab, the crab tastes like corn and potatoes, etc. Totally ruins the crab experience in my opinion. So I ended up with a bowl of clam chowder which was good, but just not what I was hoping for.

We had a fabulous meal and great service. Exactly what we were looking for. The wait was 25-45 minutes on a Tuesday evening around 6pm. Instead of waiting, we chose to sit at the bar. The bartender was fast and attentive. We ordered oysters on the half shell, 1 lb of steamed royal reds and 2 clusters of crab legs and added on 6 mussels. Everything was hot and fresh with great flavor! We will definitely return!

Platter for six. Same size as platter for four a year ago and for a higher price.

They continue to aggressively implement new levels of shrinkflation. The huge platter you once got is now pretty much an oversized plate. The shrimp are not as large. There are less crab clusters. There is just noticeably less food. But oh boy - plenty of potatoes and corn. This is incredible disappointing. I've always loved this place but we're gonna have to look around for other steamer shops.

The 2 of us ordered a $71 assortment of seafood to share. It was wonderful! Totally delicious and fresh. Shrimp, crab legs, oysters... cooked and seasoned perfectly! Only reason I'm not doing 5 stars was because it took over an hour to get out food, and the service was lacking. But the food was great !

We came in for lunch and sat outside. Our waiter was attentive and we ordered a kids chicken and fries and the crab. My husband ordered jambalaya also and it was also really good. The crab plate had potatoes and corn - 2 potatoes and 1 small corn - not easy to share but the crab more than made up for it.

Amazing steamed gulf shrimp! Ambiance is a bit old school but has its charm. Staff was friendly and the place was very busy.

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.

The place itself is gorgeous. The setting is fantastic. You walk in thinking, "Okay, this is going to be a great experience." Then somewhere between the host stand and the check, things begin to unravel. Today finally pushed me into Yelp-review territory. We stopped in around 1 p.m. on a slow Sunday. The hostesses were gathered around the stand chatting like somebody had just dropped screenshots from the group text. The person who eventually greeted us was wearing dark sunglasses inside, which was certainly a choice. Not exactly the polished first impression you expect from a restaurant charging these prices. Once seated, things didn't improve much. Our server struggled to explain the specials, answer basic menu questions, or really seem familiar with what the restaurant was serving. Again, if I'm paying Zeke's prices, I'm expecting something slightly more polished than, "I thinnnnk that comes with..." Then the food arrived. One sandwich was specifically ordered without onions because of a food allergy. It arrived covered in onions. Another meal was supposed to come with Brussels sprouts. It arrived with fries instead. Our server disappeared for about 15 minutes after the food was dropped, so by the time she came back, we were nearly finished eating and in need of refills. I mentioned the missing Brussels sprouts and was told they'd be "right out." The Brussels sprouts were not right out. In fact, the Brussels sprouts apparently entered the witness protection program because we never saw them again. Neither did our server. Eventually she returned with the checks, seemed surprised that the Brussels sprouts had never arrived, removed them from the bill, and otherwise appeared remarkably unconcerned that the meal had been wrong from beginning to end. And that's really my issue with Zeke's. Restaurants have off days. Kitchens make mistakes. Servers forget things. I get it. But when you're charging premium prices, service should be the easy part to get right... and after multiple visits, Zeke's consistently misses the mark. At this point, I'll spend my local dollars elsewhere. And if you're visiting from out of town, just know what you're getting into: the view may be beautiful, but there's a decent chance your wallet will leave considerably lighter while you're still wondering whatever happened to your Brussels sprouts.

The first thing that impressed me was the ample parking. The restaurant also has a small private beach area for customers, along with a great bar area overlooking the water. The property is handicap accessible with both ramps and stairs, making it easy for everyone to enjoy. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Assistant Manager Taylor. He made me feel extremely welcome and even recommended a lunch item from the menu. I took his advice and ordered the Pork Ribeye Sandwich, and it was absolutely amazing. On the side, I had a salad with their homemade ranch dressing. Without a doubt, this is some of the best ranch dressing I have ever had. The bartender, Cody, was outstanding as well. I tried the Lime Margarita, Blackberry Mojito, and the Strawberry Basil drink. Every one of them was fantastic. You can tell this is a place that people genuinely enjoy working at. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the customers all seemed happy to be there. It's rare to find a restaurant that gets everything right, but Avenue Pub comes very close.
