This place is amazing! Located right on PSU campus, I'm jealous it wasn't here when I was in school. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is welcoming and super cute with its artsy wall and attention to detail even with their to-go bags and chopsticks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got to try a few different things here - the Bara chirashi, unagi-Don, and Tom Yum poke. The fish was so fresh and plentiful, and everything was incorporated so well. My favorite was the Tom-Yum - you can't find something like this anywhere else. The flavor was so on point. There's really nothing I would change about anything, it was all 5/5 stars. I also highly recommend getting their matcha latte. It was so delicious, my friend even said it was better than the ones he had in Japan! It's a great refresher with the meal.

This is the perfect stop for a quick and delicious lunch! Everything was so fresh and well seasoned. The staff are so friendly and attentive - they gave me such great recommendations. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store is also decorated so cutesy and has a very bright & welcoming feels.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Got this delivered since I haven't had a chance to go in person yet and I'm so thankful I did!! The aburi salmon don is amazing and was my favorite. I'd probably add an extra scoop of fish or a side next time. Everything was soooo good and I can't wait to order again

So glad I was able to try out this place. This place definitely lives up to its reviews. The packaging is so efficient and so cute. You get a cute carry out bag that is reusable, and it fits so much. I also loved that the utensil packaging came with a floss pick to make sure you don't have seaweed stuck in your teeth! Onto the food... I ordered the unagi don because I love unagi, and this bowl did not disappoint. I ended up adding some sliced cucumbers that I had in my fridge. The unagi is a generous portion and is quite flavorful. Because we did do carry out, the rice did get a little clumpy in texture. I would still get it again though My husband got the salmon don with extra fish (2oz). I think the extra 2oz is a necessary amount of fish, which can make the bowl a little spend but the fish quality was good. Overall I would come back again and try some of the other dons and poke bowls, but the unagi don may still be my go to... Definitely check this place out if you're in th

Fantastic spot near PSU for takeout Poke! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small clean joint, friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their menu was outdated so I've added a new one as of 10/22/24 . The portion sizes are huge! The krab meat is an awesome addon and the time and salmon are really fresh. We ended up eating way more than we should've because of how fresh, clean, and tasty this was. Even with the sauces on top, it doesn't feel heavy or rich. Good old Poke that reminds me of Hawaii!

Oh my goodness! This is one of the best sushi places in the area! After a long day I was craving some sushi so I did a deep search of the area for good sushi places and stumbled upon this one. What a great choice I made! The quality of the fish is amazing for the price! Also the to go materials were so cute haha. You get a pretty good quality tote bag and your sushi is put in a cute box. The matcha latte was pretty good as well, I would recommend it. For the sushi I would recommend all of it lol. I enjoyed everything I ordered especially the C9 and hamachizilla! My sister really enjoyed the Firework roll. Definitely should give those a try! The girl who helped me in the front was so amazing too- She was the sweetest! Shoutout to her!!

Although Uber eats kind of fudged up our delivery (their greedy algorithm resulted in a very delayed delivery of essentially raw fish because the delivery drivers had to wait for multiple other orders before delivering ours), the fish itself was fresh, reasonably priced, and packaged in the cutest bento boxes! Will definitely eat here again, via in person however, rather than relying on unreliable food delivery services. We ordered two nigiri boxes, a poke bowl, and a tuna hosomaki.

The packaging and presentation is beautiful!

First time trying Fish-san and via delivery, we ordered: - Strawberry lemonade - Negihama roll + add avocado - Calico roll - Firework roll - Salmon Toro nigiri - Scallop 3 piece - add marinated eggs Everything was so good. Honestly, would definitely order again. You can definitely spend $70+ between two people but for the quality, it's a great value.

Fish-San is really good. We came here because of the very high ratings and the fact that they were open on Independence Day. Service is friendly and helpful. Even though the dining room was pretty much empty when we visited, we had a longer-than-expected wait. The very helpful employee very thoughtfully told us that they had a lot of to-go ordered queued up ahead of us, and that there would be a resultant wait. We were very happy to be informed of this ahead of time. She said she'd try to get our items worked in as soon as possible, which she did. Fish-san seems to focus mostly on to-go business. The food is all served in to-go boxes, that appear to be purpose build for sushi, and are high-quality and very charming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also extremely unique and thoughtful is the sealed and house-branded place setting, which consists of chopsticks, a spork, a napkin, a wet wipe, and a plastic combination toothpick / flosser. I've never seen that elsewhere[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I was mot impressed with the spicy tuna poke bowl. It was the best I've ever had. It is thoughtfully garnished with pickled daikon, and another red item I wasn't able to identify, but it was delicious. Also adorning it is finely-chopped seaweed. The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I'll definitely get this again on my next visit. The 12-piece nigiri special was a great bargain, and items ranged from great, to good, to "what in the world were they thinking"? The real head scratchers in the collection were the bruleed sugar tamago nigiri (seemed to be a take on creme-brulee, but it wasn't good at all - basically caramel on an omelette), and the same treatment on the ebi (shrimp) was every bit as bad as it sounds. The rolls were quite good, and were expertly prepared. I was also happy to see unique beverages such as muscat iced tea and Ramune on offer. There is a very tiny free parking lot, and street parking, which can be quite challenging to find an open spot. Overall, I was quite impressed with Fish-San, and heartily recommend it (save for the burned sugar nigiri).

Been on my list and now wishing I had tried sooner! I wanted quality sushi but just an addition to the dinner I already planned to make. I was excited to see them pop up on Uber Eats. We ordered the C9 roll and the Fish-San futomaki. Both priced like they better be really good. Sushi takeout is normally not impressive but Fish-San is not normal! They're exceptional. I mean yes I only ordered two rolls but the presentation, the quality of every detail, and the flavors made this the best experience anyone could hope for. Both delicious rolls that you never want to end, but the favorite is the C9. Hi house made zingy truffle avocado sauce. Wow do I dare order again two days in a row?? Well I also need to try the rest of the menu! All the questions that must be answered by going back and continuing the research/work to update you. But I'm just one person. This is your sign to go check this place out and fill in!

I got the salmon don and it was great. The flavors were good and the fish was fresh and plentiful. It came with miso soup as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A good lunch spot by PSU.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Really enjoyed the fresh fish and sushi dishes delivered via Uber Eats! Loved that the miso soup was included with entrees.

A new spot in the PSU area. Super cute shop with nice, calming ambience and a few seatings. Got a takeout order of their Chirashi Bowl. Their packaging game was A+ with reuseable branded bag, packaged utensils, and wooden box! You know that they really care. The attention can also be seen in how they plated their food, even for takeout orders. Fish slices arranged beautifully. All their seafood was also very very fresh, definitely higher quality than most spots in the area. Miso soup was tasty and refreshing. However, their fish portion was on the stingy side. Mainly rice in the box. We also had some ordering issues, wrong order was given to us and we had to go back to the store. I understand though that they're new and still figuring things out. Wouldn't mind going back.

While a few things stood out, the meal as a whole didn't quite hit the high marks I was hoping for. Here is how it broke down: The Starters (The Highlight): Karaage (Fried Chicken): This was easily the best part of the meal. The pieces were large, juicy, and had a great, ultra-crispy crunch on the outside. Takoyaki: Decent texture and well-presented on a long plate with plenty of bonito flakes, making it a solid appetizer to share. The Mains (A Bit Average): Spicy Ramen: The noodles had a good chew, but the broth lacked the deep, rich complexity you expect from a really stellar ramen. Even with the spicy paste mixed in, the flavor profile felt a bit flat. Chashu Don (Rice Bowl): While it was a generous portion packed with chopped chashu and minced meat, it ended up tasting a bit monotone after a few bites and could have used more balance or a punchier sauce. Overall, it's a fine spot if you want a quick, filling meal, but the flavors didn't quite wow me enough to make it a standout. Solid, but nothing mind-blowing.

I ordered the red miso, and there was sugar snap peas and asparagus, which is unusual. The individual ingredients themselves were fine but as a whole, it didn't taste like miso or spicy ramen. The overload of vegetables didn't seem to belong in a typical miso ramen dish (my go-to order) and rendered the broth quite bland. My husband ordered the black shoyu ramen, which was pretty one-note. Ota Tofu is one of my favorite spots in Portland for their amazingly fresh tofu, and it's right across from this ramen shop. Sadly, the tofu they used here was fried to a crisp, lost most of its flavor and had an unpleasant, sharp texture.

If you're not downtown, they also have a smaller location on the east side! To start I got the takoyaki, or fried octopus balls. It was crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside, with a tender and chewy piece of octopus, topped with a sweet sauce and fish flakes. Yum!! For my main, I wanted to try one of their broth-less udons and chose one of the specials, the Mentaiko kama-tama Udon--house-made flat udon noodles tossed in and onion oil, bonito, and soy dashi sauce. The noodles are topped with Men-taiko (spicy Tarako caviar), soft egg, tobiko, tempura puffs, green onions, and nori. I also added ikura (as recommended). I've never had flat udon noodles or broth-less udon but I'm forever changed. The minimal broth allows the toppings to be the stars of the show, and here was no exception. The flavors were complex, but balanced, and the variety of textures kept me coming back for another bite. The soy dashi sauce was full of umami and a subtle spicy kick, the fish eggs added pops of saltiness, and the tempura puffs and green onions added some crunch and offset the richness from the other toppings. The house-made noodles also made a huge difference, they were chewy but tender, and soaked up the soy dashi perfectly. I could not recommend Shigezo Izakaya enough!

The soft-boiled egg was perfectly yolky, but the dish would've been elevated even further with a slightly more generous serving of chashu pork. Tonkotsu Red (5/5): A unique variation for those who love a bit of heat. It shares the same chewy noodle and vegetable foundation as the Shoyu, but has a spicy broth that builds and ramps up the more you slurp.
