The white clam chowder was amazing and was my favorite part of the meal. The soft shell crab bao tacos were a miss tho just tasted really weird and for the price it was pretty steep. The fish and chips were ok, in particular the fish just wasn't battered to my liking.

A solid seafood eatery with waterfront outdoor seating. Quite casual really but fresh seafood. You get in the long line, order d at the counter and find a table that's how it work. Food take a bit longer to arrive, but perhaps they were busy. Either way it's a solid, great view, good food and service eatery to grab a bite without having to drive to the coast like Marshall or Bodega.

A popular spot! It operates like a fast casual restaurant but it's located on the water and served up great food. I had fish tacos and they were delicious, but the platter is small. If you're hungry, I'd add an appetizer or a salad. My daughter had a burger and it had a nice charred taste and came with insanely good fries. My son had the kids pasta, which was buttered noodles, and he enjoyed it. It's nice and laid back-- a nice break from fast pace of SF across the bridge.

Perfect for outdoor seaside dining. You order at the counter then a server brings you the food. It can get busy for lunch so expect to wait in line to order. They have high chairs for little ones which is a plus. The food was tasty but pretty salty even for seafood. The bao tacos were okay but were more crunch than meat. The fish sticks were huge and filled! No excess gaps and of air and breading. Probably the best thing we got. Overall, would come again.

A great way to wind down! Fish has great outdoor seating overlooking the marina. The service and food is extremely quick and everything tasted fresh. I especially enjoyed our assortment of oysters.

So good we came back twice over Mother's Day weekend On Friday the wait was 15 minutes, and the food came out quickly. We were hungry and in a rush to get to our boat rental and didn't even notice the specials. We got the red chowder, white chowder, soft shell bao tacos, fish tacos, pasta con vongole, and Louie salad for a group of 5. We took everything to go and had it on the boat. Everything was great especially the white chowder, fish tacos, and soft shell crab bao tacos, except the pasta con vongole was too salty. After looking at the pictures we decided we have to come back on Saturday. On Saturday the wait was 50 minutes, and the line went all the way around the fence. So many of the specials including the whole fish, which we went back for, got taken off of the list while we were waiting...tragic. If you're going on the weekend beware!! We ate in at the restaurant this time as we didn't have a reservation to get to. The outside was pretty hot and there's some seating inside and also in an adjacent room that nobody seemed to notice. We were still able to get 2 specials: rockfish ceviche and dumplings. The dumplings were so good - their homemade chili sauce is sweet and a mild spicy that builds. Rockfish was a bit lime-y, but a delicacy nonetheless. I would definitely come back on a weekday to enjoy the specials again!

Great seafood, beautiful views, and incredibly fresh ingredients made for a wonderful dining experience. The service was amazing, and the ordering process was simple--just pay first and then enjoy your meal. The oysters were definitely the highlight of the visit. If you're a seafood lover, you must try a dozen oysters--they were fresh, delicious, and absolutely worth ordering. We will definitely be coming back again. We enjoyed: * Saigon Salmon Sandwich * Soft Shell Bao Tacos * 1 Dozen Oysters Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Between the fresh seafood, relaxing waterfront views, and friendly service, this was a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Early Sunday dinner temperature 75 degrees with a light breeze....just perfect. 5 minute wait to order but line got to maybe 20 min by the time we sat down. Located just 5 min over the Golden Gate Bridge this place always feels like a Staycation meal for me. Tonight it felt like Hawaii. Started with some oysters and poke and I had the soft shell crab bao tacos. Not a fine dining restaurant but the casual ambiance is always top notch.

This is definitely one of the more popular lunch spots in Sausalito, so expect a line -- especially on a sunny weekend. Very casual setup -- you order at the counter first and then find your own seating. Thankfully there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so finding a table wasn't difficult despite the crowd. They have a standard printed menu along with a pretty extensive list of daily specials. I ordered the squid (one of the fish specials that day) over a Caesar salad and really enjoyed it. Everyone in my group seemed happy with their entrees too. We also ordered an assortment of oysters to share. One note was that the waitress dropped them off did so abruptly without explaining which oysters were which. Overall, the food itself probably won't completely blow you away, but if you're looking for solid seafood with a great ambiance in Sausalito, this is still one of the better options around.

Pretty long line but we took that as a good sign! Oysters were very fresh and good. We got 5 of each type (3 types). The rockfish chorizo style tacos were very good and seasoned well. Only thing disappointing was the "shoe string fries" which were not shoe string and also tasted kind of stale/not fresh. Service was quick and good as well.

The fish and chips were so good! Crispy and fresh fish with tasty potato wedges. We picked some up for take out since the line was really long. Plenty of outdoor seating with beautiful view. Service was friendly and quick

I have been meaning to update my review. Fish is delicious. Pick something from their daily fresh menu. Our recent visit was exceptional. My only gripe if there is one is that when paying with a credit card, the lowest option to add tip is 25%. The food is pricey because it's fresh and you can honestly taste how good it is. So maybe the tip could go to checking in to see if people need more water or an extra plate to share food or to clear tables near you so the birds aren't hovering. That would be five stars.

Softshell Crab bao! Fantastic and highly recommend

Was skeptical because of the 3.8 rating but I had to try it for myself. And boy am I glad I didn't listen to these reviews! Everything was tasty. My wife had the poke bowl, my mom had the fish smash burgers and my dad had the cheeseburger. The smoke on his patty was really awesome! If I wanted to nitpick about anything, MAYBE the guac could have used a little more salt. Don't believe the rating, I'm giving it 5 stars because it definitely deserves better!

    Do they have umbrellas outside?

I’ve not seen many umbrellas, if any. There are two or three tables inside that work of shade is required. Also, late afternoons as the sun sets in the west, the building casts a shadow on part of the outdoor space.

    Are there any Vegan options?

Not really - there's a boring green salad - I'm guessing you could veganize another salad too. Then there's guac & chips, delicious French fries. Additionally they might have a veggie side of the day that's vegan but I wouldn't choose it as a place…

My sister was cold and really didn't want to have to sit outdoors so we almost opted for to go food, but ultimately chose to dine anyways, and I'm so glad we did. I'll start by saying EVERYTHING was incredible. From the food down to the service we received. All of the staff we interacted with during our time there were very kind and attentive. For starters, when we arrived, I told our waitress we had a dog and she directed us to a table on their "indoor patio ", so we we're basically sat indoors, which was really nice. We weren't cold at all, and had we been, it looked like they had overhead heaters! We ordered their bread service, the warm trout dip, truffle fries, steak & frites, the burger, mussels/clams, the chocolate tart and creme brûlée. It was all delicious. While eating our appetizers, our poor pup got sick and threw up under the table :( we tried to discreetly clean it and felt really embarrassed. Entrées came out a few minutes later, and while eating our entrées, it happened a second time. At that point, we were ready to ask for the food to go, because we were feeling so thoroughly embarrassed. As I started cleaning the vomit a second time, our kind waitress came over and told me she would take care of it. I apologized repeatedly, and we felt sooo bad. She was so kind, and gracious towards us, telling us it was okay. I never got her name, but I wanted to let her know just how much we really appreciated her assistance and for not making us feel worse about what had happened. The way she handled the situation, was the epitome of dog friendly service. I'm not sure why our pup was so sick at the restaurant. My guess is he may have swallowed some water while playing at the beach. I just really wanted to express my gratitude for you all allowing us to enjoy a nice meal and continuously treating us kindly and respectfully after our poor boy got sick in your restaurant. I really enjoyed the thoughtfully curated omakase menu arrangement. A standout highlight for me was the tender baby ginger sourced from Hawaii and marinated fresh in-house--I've never had anything like it anywhere else! The final dessert course was way beyond my expectations: the slightly warm, chewy green tea mochi paired with the creamy vanilla gelato was an absolute match made in heaven. My sole, minor complaint is that they charge extra for tea. For a high-end omakase experience at this price point, it really should include complimentary tea to provide a seamless, complete meal.

They also had some more interesting creations, like the sesame salmon with lemon cream, which was a fun change from the more traditional pieces. The highlight for me was a dish prepared by the kitchen that had a piece of fish lightly fried in potato starch and served in a seaweed and vinegar broth. That was probably the most surprising dish of the meal and one of my favorites since the different flavors were subtle and worked well together. They also had fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. The chawanmushi didn't have quite the smooth, pudding-like texture I was expecting, but the flavors were really good. The mushrooms, ikura, and subtle hit of yuzu worked really well together. Super popular spot with lots of seating and different seating options, and pretty much everything was full when we went.

The hostess was really nice and she said no worries we can get you a table. There was only two of us so that's probably why it wasn't a problem. We ordered a couple glasses of wine and the smoked wings and wedge salad to start. Our wines came out right away and then our wings and salad. It was pretty quick considering they looked pretty busy. Of course the wines were delicious (Zin, Pinot Noir). The salad was pretty basic wedge but good and they made it for two which was good. The wings were cooked perfect, just enough smoke on them, and a little crispy. For our entree we ordered the Ribeye to split between us. The ribeye came out not to much later, it looked good. They also split that for us so that was really nice. The Ribeye was cooked perfect (med rare), a good grill marks on it, great seasoning on it. The steak didn't even need any sauces because the seasoning flavor was already there. For dessert we ordered sticky toffee pudding. It was the best Sticky Toffee pudding I've ever had. There was something indescribable, though, that hinted that they rely on the picturesque views to make up for food that is "good" - but not "great." Let's start on a positive note. You can't beat the view. Our server was well informed about the menu, attentive, and friendly - but unwilling to help too much with the menu selections. "Everything is good" is a bit of a pet peeve of mine but I'm not holding this against the rating of this restaurant as that's pretty server-specific. We started with a half dozen local oysters on the half shell which were actually amazing. Perhaps the most mild tasting oysters I have ever had and served with a champagne mignonette, cocktail sauce, and fresh horseradish - all of which paired nicely. For my main course, I had the petrale sole - a very mild, delicate, Pacific flatfish. While flaky and tender, it did lack flavor and was served with some relatively uninspired accompaniments - a saffron rice and some roasted vegetables which was mostly green beans and celery. One of my friends ordered the paella which he said was "great." Overall very decent experience on par with so many other coastal restaurants that know they can fill the seats with the amazing views alone. I would definitely come back - but would likely order something different... except for the oysters - those were a must to order again!

Since it is located in a popular tourist destination, the higher prices are understandable, though still a little excessive in my opinion.

Our family enjoyed this historic seafood restaurant in Sausalito. We came here on Saturday for our…read morebirthday lunch . There was a traffic accident on the gift way so our arrival time was delayed . We called the restaurant and the lady was very kind and helpful. She helped us move the reservation time from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm . She promised that we may have to wait a little bit . By the time we arrived , our table was reserved and set up so that we could start ordering out late lunch. We were very hungry and they gave us another loaf of bread after the first one ! We ordered calamari fritter as appetizers. The calamari was fresh from the ocean ,so tender and delicious. It was marinated and cooked to perfection . We wanted to order a second one right after we finished it ! We have tried the signature clam chowder , Alaska halibut, three orders of the lazy Cioppino ( it has Fisherman 's stew of crabs , clams , mussels , fish , calamari in a tomato clam broth ) The crab meats were fresh and delicious, clams and calamari were tender and fresh from the ocean, so many giant prawn and fish cooked to just right and I could barely finish all the seafood in one order . The broth tasted amazing and it came with two roasted garlic butter sour dough bread . We love seafood Cioppino and this was one of the best one I had , both in presentation, quality and quantity of the seafood . Another family member ordered linguine con vongole ( linguini with fresh Manila clams , garlic , white wine , butter , chili flakes and butter ) . It tased like heaven with the white wine sauce and the fresh clams were so juicy and tender. The restaurant is nicely decorated with windows and ocean views . I love the handing lamps and the wall paintings. It offers elegant dinning with a warm and personal ambiance. Focus from " pier to plates " dinning with daily fresh catches . Guests consistently praise the exceptional freshness of the seafood and the romantic bay views . A blue ship was moving into the bay while we dinned and we enjoyed watching and experiencing the fresh ocean breeze and took photos outside and indoor . Service was exceptional and attentive . I give this restaurant 5/5 and would love to come back again for more family event .

The sauce it came with was also good. For the linguine frutti di mare, the garlic was a little too sharp for me. There were some pretty big pieces of garlic that didn't seem fully cooked through, which made the flavor a bit overpowering. The bread was great with a nice crunchy crust and salty butter. The view and seating area were also really nice, and the staff was attentive throughout the meal.

The ladies at the front desk welcomed us with a smile, we knew we had picked the right place! It was a perfect day to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful ambiance. My friend said it reminded her of a side walk cafe in Europe! Our waiter was Italian and charming. We enjoyed the Pizza Margarita and the Shrimp Pasta which were both delicious! We look forward to our next visit.

The ambiance is amazing where you can be seated on the patio or indoors at a table or at the bar. I would say that it is a bit more upscale in terms of attire that should be worn and is not casual dining. When we arrived, we were quickly seated and given time to look over the menu and hear about the day's specials. There was a great selection overall and it was a good mix of seafood and non seafood options. Service was a bit slow despite the amount of staff which is why I am removing a star, but honestly I would rank it a 4.5 if yelp gave that option. Our appetizers came out quite quickly but afterwards it took a while for the main course to come out. The staff were very nice though and were easily approachable. Of all the food that we ordered, I have to say my favorite was the burrata plate. My least favorite had to be the potatoes or Arrosto, which was unfortunate as I love to eat potatoes. It was just bland and was lacking salt. But I believe this was more of an anomaly as the rest of the food we ordered was perfect as it came. Overall I love this place a lot. It is definitely saved as a favorite in my book! If you are in Sausalito I would 100% recommend trying Poggio! Perfect for a date night or with the family! (They are also kid friendly with a kids menu available)
