Hungry, short on time. We needed something we could call ahead to pickup without a long wait. Napa Valley Burger Co. had good reviews and a selection of burgers to satisfy us both. Our order was ready in under 15 minutes and at the front desk when we arrived. The hostess was friendly and greeted us immediately upon entering. Our order - a James Beard Competition Burger ($24), Silverado Veggie Burger ($20), and Seasoned Fries ($10). My husband said the menu read better than the burger tasted. He was unable to locate the flavors or profile highlighted in the description of the James Beard burger. Maybe if he ate there, his experience may have been different. With an option to go, the burger's flavor should be able to travel comparable to in house. The Silverado Veggie burger was flavorful with a spicy profile, most likely from the chipotle aioli. Typically, veggie burgers are dry, this one was juicy and satisfying. I was extremely satisfied with my selection. The Seasoned fries at $10 were plentiful in portion but limp and lacking in flavor. We were both disappointed and did not revisit the portion after our first try. The fries could have been cooked longer and tossed with a heavier hand in the seasoning used. I got the James Beard burger and it was honestly, life changing. The beef burger blended with pinot noir marinated cremini & oyster mushrooms made such a rich patty - it tasted like I was eating a really good steak. The arugula and Parmesan crisp added the perfect punch of flavors to accompany the patty. It was my first time not ordering fries with my burger and it felt so wrong but it turned out to be the right decision! While I love fries (and probably will order the truffle fries next time), it allowed me to focus on the burger. And the salad, pickles and pepper that it came with added a nice, refreshing crisp between bites of a really decadent burger. Service was friendly and efficient! We each chose the Baja burger that comes with applewood bacon, pepper jack cheese, guacamole and chipotle aioli. all burgers come with salad on the side. This is one of the better dining options in Sausalito. Having said that, the food is good, but not amazing. We just wanted something super quick after having biked a good 5 miles, so we were just glad to get a seat. We sat at the bar. The bartender was pretty nice. We ordered a beer and a sangria. The sangria was delicious. I always rate my sangrias based on how much wine I taste, the less, the better because it means the drink is smoother. This one hit the mark there for sure. The food was just ok. We got their yountville burger and the fish tacos. The plates were big. The burger had bacon along with the usual suspects. Most of the plate was occupied by the salad. The burger was decent, just like any other burger. We didn't finish the whole thing because of how large the portion was. The fish taco plate came with 2 fish tacos and a big salad. The tacos were ok. There was a large piece of grilled fish with avocados. Between the two, the tacos were definitely better. They were difficult to eat because of how big the tacos were. These tacos are nowhere close to the real authentic tacos you'd get in San Diego but they were good enough. Salsa did not have any salt in it so it was disappointing. Was in Sausalito for the day, and my boyfriend was craving a burger. Naturally, we chose the Napa Valley Burger Company for dinner. First impressions, I found the ambience to be a little old-fashioned. Not really my style. I understand the Napa Valley theme, which to be honest, I didn't fully understand considering they have no real ties to the Napa Valley at all lol. But I understand that's what they're going for. A very literal take on the Napa Valley theme, considering there are no restaurants in Napa that look like this. After my harsh criticism of the ambience and decor, I can say that the food was fine. We ordered two burgers, and the truffle fries. I thought they were tasty. My favorite burger was the James Beard burger. I thought it was delicious, however, it was overcooked, so that was a bit of a bummer. Both burgers were med well. I also really didn't like the fact that all the burgers come with a grape pick. I found that to be a little tacky if I'm being completely honest. I also ordered an Arnold Palmer, and it had a strange taste. I wasn't sure if I was overreacting, so I had my boyfriend taste it, and he agreed it taste like the machine was either not clean, or had a soapy chemical taste to it. I didn't mention anything to my server about it, but I did not drink the drink which is a telltale sign that something is not right. We didn't love our experience at Napa Valley Burger Company, however I can see how some people might really enjoy this place, but it definitely was not for us, so we won't be back. read more

Expensive: the cost of that burger was almost $25. Ambiance: I sat at one of the outdoor tables out front to enjoy the nice weather. Something to note: this was an area with a very weak cellar signal and the restaurant does not offer wifi, so if you come, bring friends, or perhaps a book to read for entertainment. The final bill had an annoying line item adding an extra 3% entitled "California Wage Increase"... IDK why they they think I need to see that. Why don't they just include it in the price? After a long hike, my friends and I were really craving for a burger and drinks. We didn't have a great signal, but luckily we found this place. They must have barely opened when we got there because it was fairly empty but by the time we left, they were so packed and busy. As soon as we got there, we were promptly seated, shown the menu, and our orders were taken soon after. Drinks: A few of us had ordered the sweet lady margarita which stood out to me because it had a red wine float on the top. It wasn't the strongest tasting margarita but I must say it was very smooth. I'm not a huge tequila guy, but I think the red wine sort of calms down the tequila taste so it was very drinkable for me. My other friend had ordered the Moscow mule and she did not have any complaints. For my next drink, I decided on the sangria because the whiskey cocktail that I wanted, which contained red wine, they could not do as a red wine float. In any case, their sangria was very refreshing and delicious with a hint of citrus. Food: All of their burgers come with a side salad, which I think is sort of a waste when you are eating burgers, however, I think because this seems to be a very healthy/active city/town, this is the reason for the salad salads. All that being said, I don't appreciate going to a burger place and having to order a separate side of fries so if I had one thing to knock them on, this would be it. Especially because they don't offer the option to swap out the salad for fries. Anyways, my friends had ordered the Yountville burger and I the whiskey bacon burger. What stands out from the Yountville was that it came with a Parmesan crisp while the whiskey bacon burger has a patty that is blended with beef and whiskey marinated bacon. I was indecisive because I saw they also had a burger with an egg on it so I ended up ordering a sunny side up egg and bacon to go on top of my whiskey bacon burger. Now from my experience, this doesn't happen very often, but their egg was perfectly cooked. The weights were fully cooked while the yolk was still perfectly runny. This is possibly the best egg I've ever seen on a burger. As for the burger itself, it came medium and had just the right amount of chew. In all honesty, had you not told me that the bacon blended into the patty was a whiskey marinated I would not have guessed that. As for the fries, I must say that the waffle fries were by far my favorite although I do wish that they had more cheese on them. The seasoned fries were not bad, fairly standard with a light dusting of seasoning and a slight crisp. For the dips, we got chipotle, garlic, and habanero. I think that the chipotle aïoli was a bit disappointing however, the garlic and habanero were great; I would often take a fry and combine the garlic and the habanero aïolis for a perfect bite. Misc: This place is inside a brick wall building . With the signal in the general area already being pretty bad, the brick walls made it almost impossible to get any signal. The main reason we wanted the signal was so that we could look up pictures of specific items. They had a burger that they had entered into the James Beard burger competition however we could not take a look. I really wish that they had Wi-Fi especially because it's known that you can't get signal inside there, or at least it's very hard to. Rating: Anyways, for a very good burger, fries, and drinks I have to give this place a minimum of 4/5. read more

NOT KID FRIENDLY. Came here on Wednesday 7/2 around 5pm (they close at 6) with a small collapsible stroller. The female hostess was very rude and kept saying we had to put our stroller in the back of the restaurant due to space/needing to make sure other tables were available. What was the chance that 46 people would suddenly rush into the restaurant in the last hour before they closed? Spoiler: only two other parties of 4 came in the hour that we are. We were there on a Saturday afternoon. The staff was kind by providing a high chair for the baby, and a very nice small. The inside is pretty load though. I was pretty happy with my bacon burger. However they did not have a kids menu, and the little sandwich that I shared with the baby was spicy and made the baby very angry. This little incident made the whole experience unhappy. I would suggest to add a kids menu. Also the restaurant does not have any signal, either tmobile or verizon. I would suggest to have a guest wifi. This was my third visit here. They have very tasty gourmet burgers. My husband had the Baja Burger, and I had the James Beard Competition Burger. Last time he had the Stinson Beach Burger. Each time we've been pleasantly surprised at just how very good the burgers are. It says something when a meal is memorable, and these burgers are memorable. They come with a bit of salad, which has also been very good each visit. The garnishes are delightful and edible, not just a sprig of cilantro or parsley. Presentation is excellent, as is the service. The vibe is upbeat and busy, with an average noise level. I was able to talk with my husband without shouting. Sausalito is an awesome place to visit for touristy reasons. But we have one more reason to visit now. Awesome burgers and crispy fries for a thanksgiving cold day, this place is just perfect. We ordered their fri-fecta sampler and 3 perfect crisp fries of different flavors complemented each other. You will need a lot more chipotle aioli sauce, and they were pretty generous with that. Old fashioned maple drink was a hit. The burgers were awesome. My favorite the buffalo chicken burger and you will not go wrong with that turkey avocado burger. Oh and the onion rings are crisp to perfection. Great food, amazing service and perfectly located in Sausalito. I wish they had one in South Bay. But totally worth the drive. read more
