BEST fish and shrimp tacos on the island! My husband I have been visiting for a few weeks and have made it our mission to find the best fish/shrimp tacos! I like shrimp, he gets fish. We went to multiple high end restaurants and tried multiple taco stands that were mediocre. These blew everything out of the water and were a great price! Not only that, but the multiple fresh made sauces are ALL delicious!! We tried them all and couldn't decide what ones we liked better because they were all so good! Ingredients are all fresh and the flavors are unbeatable! We have driven 40 min just to get these tacos multiple times now, and I'm going to miss this place when we fly back home. I have seen The Blue Taco Truck mentioned in several YouTube videos covering "places to eat" or 10 Best Maui Food Trucks kind of vids. I have wanted to stop many times but the timing just was not right until today. Located in Oluwalu, about .2 miles past Leodas, Blue Taco sits well back from the road and may be difficult to spot, particularly if you are not familiar with the area. There are several outdoor tables acailable for your dining pleasure. My lunch was quite limited, 1 shrimp taco and 1 mahi-mahi fish taco. Both were served in a lightly fried corn tortilla, with freshly made pico de gallo salsa, excellent. Two tacos were just fine, I can put too much food away but have learned to be a bit more judicious. The shrimp taco was outstanding, great flavor, 5 out of 5 stars. The fried mahi-mahi just did not match my standards. I felt it had been overcooked a bit, as well as the frying oil having that "worn-out" taste, leading to a 3 out of 5 rating. I sampled three of their homemade salsas, all were great. Service was very friendly and quick, 5 of 5 stars here. Prices are good for what you expect on Maui. My overall rating would be 4.5 stars but the Yelp powers have not learned decimals! read more

The fish was very gamey so strong flavoured, the batter a little dark, but the taco was mouthwateringly good. Crunchy, hot, cool, and fishy all at the same time. I wish they would offer a non battered fish taco, healthier and much nicer than deep fried. Shrimp taco - again battered, I would prefer non battered, but a great tasting taco bursting with flavour and juice and accompanied by pickled white onion pieces and limes. Salsa bar - I was given 2 tiny cups for the salsa and chose just one, the spicy smoky red salsa which was delicious There are plenty of drink options including Jarrito and coke bottles. I paid in cash, but they do an extra charge for credit cards. Free parking right opposite it at the west end of the Olowalu fruit stand, opposite end from Leoda's. Local construction workers often eat here, and I've seen them ordering quesadilla which aren't on the official menu. read more

We found this incredible spot on our way to our hotel from the airport and it was so good, we came back for lunch the following day. Stopped by here on my vacation to Maui. I had been out snorkeling with some people in my hostel and we stopped here afterwards. We ordered some quesabirria tacos as recommended by the amazing Vanessa! The place was busy, but she did a great job getting us situated in a timely manner. We decided to grab some tacos here for lunch when we were exploring this little stop. I have fish tacos for almost every meal anytime I'm in Maui, so I've had a lot! These ones are pretty unique. They are fried, I do wish the batter was not quite as thick, but the flavor is good. They are topped with a crema and lots of pico de gallo. I also recommend topping them with their salsa verde! They have a little homemade salsa bar and it's worth trying it out! They also add a little escabeche to the side of the tacos, which I added to my tacos for a little heat. One of the best tacos I have had in my life!! I'll start off with the place, it's a cute truck with covered table areas. Cute vibes, simple menu that's easy to read and great prices! The worker was so nice, and super knowledgeable about allergies and the ingredients in the food to make it vegan and gluten free! This place has everything you need for a seafood lunch on your way to or from the beach. The Ceviche, Fish Tacos and Shrimp Tacos were SOLID. Nothing fancy or unnecessary. I was only in Maui for 3 days and stopped here 2 out of the 3 days. Everything tasted fresh and seemed authentic. The sauces that you can choose from is also tasty. There's seating if you want to eat there, and there's even a market close by.
