Best quesobirria tacos I have ever had!!! Couldn't even get a picture of my plate before digging in. We found this incredible spot on our way to our hotel from the airport and it was so good, we came back for lunch the following day. I talked with the sweet woman at the register only to find out she and her husband own the truck and he makes all the food! They are the kindest and I'm so happy to be supporting them. Will be going back as many times as possible before our trip is up!!!

One of the best tacos I've ever had!! We originally came here for the fish tacos, but decided to try the Birria tacos and surprisingly was better than the fish. It was so good that we had to come back a second time before we left Maui! I'm from LA known for their Mexican food and this is probably one of the best Birria tacos I've ever had.

The smell tempts you over and the service is fast and friendly, with a salsa bar and a good menu to choose from. I plumped for: Fish taco - battered fish in a double corn tortilla oozing with salad and dressing. The fish was very gamey so strong flavoured, the batter a little dark, but the taco was mouthwateringly good. Crunchy, hot, cool, and fishy all at the same time. I wish they would offer a non battered fish taco, healthier and much nicer than deep fried. Shrimp taco - again battered, I would prefer non battered, but a great tasting taco bursting with flavour and juice and accompanied by pickled white onion pieces and limes. Salsa bar - I was given 2 tiny cups for the salsa and chose just one, the spicy smoky red salsa which was delicious There are plenty of drink options including Jarrito and coke bottles. I paid in cash, but they do an extra charge for credit cards. Free parking right opposite it at the west end of the Olowalu fruit stand, opposite end from Leoda's. Local construction workers often eat here, and I've seen them ordering quesadilla which aren't on the official menu.

Stopped by here on my vacation to Maui. I had been out snorkeling with some people in my hostel and we stopped here afterwards. We ordered some quesabirria tacos as recommended by the amazing Vanessa! The place was busy, but she did a great job getting us situated in a timely manner. The food truck was in the middle of what seemed to be a gorgeous oasis in a place that you wouldn't expect. There was an incredible backdrop of some mountains behind their food truck! I'm from Los Angeles and these tacos definitely get the official LA seal of approval!!

Another great spot! This place has super fresh seafood! I got a shrimp and a birria taco. Shrimp taco was great! Super fresh birria was alright, not my favorite but still decent! My partner got the mahi mahi and shrimp taco and he loved the mahi mahi! I think next time we go I'll get just the seafood as the seafood tacos were great! Service is good, they have a lot of salsas and I saw the worker bring out a plate when a family did not hear her! Mellow spot, of course there are chickens but there are chickens all around here. Just a Hawaii thing.

The service was friendly and rather fast. The food was just mediocre and for the price, I'd rather it be amazing. If you are starving, check it out. Otherwise there are better taco places to check out. The one fun upside is that chickens and roosters will check you out and maybe try to have lunch with you.

    A fun little food truck.

My wife and I were recently staying I Kapalua and mid week she had a craving for a very simple sandwich. We decided to head to Leoda's and, as we were nearing the parking lot, we noticed a small sign along the road with a arrow pointed toward "Fish Tacos El Blue" Recognizing the name from an earlier search on Reddit, I swung into the lot and decided to try the tacos. Well, we walked over to Leoda's first as a sammich bf or my wife was still in play. (And that's a separate review ) I walked back to El Blue and checked out the very simple , very straightforward menu. A burrito seemed far too heavy for the meal, and ceviche was quite piquing my interest, so ordered three fish tacos. Service was quite friendly and within moments of my sitting down at the picnic table I was being presented with three well sized Baja fish tacos. I took one bite and found the fare to be - well exactly what it was I suppose - a Baja fish taco. Not the best Baja fish taco. It the worst. Having had wonderful fish all week I was disappointed by the ratio of barter to fish in these - far too much batter. Far too little fish It was an easy, quick meal. Filling for the day. But boy, I was looking longingly at the sammich my wife carried over from Leoda's....

We decided to grab some tacos here for lunch when we were exploring this little stop. I have fish tacos for almost every meal anytime I'm in Maui, so I've had a lot! These ones are pretty unique. They are fried, I do wish the batter was not quite as thick, but the flavor is good. They are topped with a crema and lots of pico de gallo. I also recommend topping them with their salsa verde! They have a little homemade salsa bar and it's worth trying it out! They also add a little escabeche to the side of the tacos, which I added to my tacos for a little heat. My husband loved their shrimp taco and my daughter absolutely loved the shredded pork burrito. It's definitely worth a try if you are in the area and craving Mexican good.

The Ceviche, Fish Tacos and Shrimp Tacos were SOLID.

This place has everything you need for a seafood lunch on your way to or from the beach. The Ceviche, Fish Tacos and Shrimp Tacos were SOLID. Nothing fancy or unnecessary. The woman at the window taking our order was incredibly friendly. There are tables outside of the food truck if you want to relax and eat right away. I would definitely return the next time I'm in Maui.

Fish Tacos El Blue is one of those rare finds that reminds you why food trucks can completely outshine oceanfront restaurants. This family-operated gem at Olowalu Village, perfectly located between the airport and the Kaʻanapali resorts, serves some of the most flavorful, satisfying food we had on the island. The fish tacos are outstanding -- fresh, perfectly cooked, and boldly seasoned without overpowering the quality of the seafood. Every bite tastes intentional and made with care. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the quality easily rivals (and honestly surpasses) many expensive beachfront spots nearby. What truly elevates El Blue is the heart behind it. You can feel the pride and warmth of a family business that genuinely cares about what they serve and the people they serve. No gimmicks, no inflated prices -- just incredible food and real aloha. Worth every penny. A must-stop on Maui. We would come back in a heartbeat.

2 asada, 1 quesabirria (closer) 3 shrimp tacos + fries (farther)

Very visible from the road, simply pull off and park. Reasonable prices and authentic (as a Mexican myself) Food was hot and tasty with lots of options and even a salsa bar. The woman who helped us was very friendly and helpful. A few blue tables under mostly shade. Lots of other tables a bit further away. The mountains behind the little blue truck make for an amazing photo opportunity. Absolutely recommend if you're craving baja style Mexican food.

So for the longest time I have adamantly been against fish in general and tacos were always beef or pork... Thank you El Blue for proving me wrong, the fish and shrimp tacos here literally changed my view on the matter. The fact that they have since directed my ordering at all places here since then it's a true testament to just how good they are. Friendly staff is also a plus and it's what you would expect from a food truck in terms of seating and ambiance. If you are driving down the road and see them stop off and check them out, you won't be disappointed, as an officia fish tacos convert i approve this place as a destination!

This place had good you tube reviews. We stopped for some tacos and they were delicious. We tried the fish tacos and a chorizo taco they were both great. They have a nice salsa bar with really good salsa. The tortilla was fried, the fish was battered and fried and the slaw and sauce complemented nicely. It would be five stars if the fish was bigger or two pieces of the same size. It's also a cute little blue truck and seating area.

They started up their truck shortly after the 2023 tragedy in Lahaina and have only raised their prices $1 in three years. Very ono given there is still so much suffering and loss in Lahaina. I overheard one patron explaining his monthly rent in Lahaina is over $2700. Zoiks!! Wonderful selection of freshly made Mexican food, things I've never tried or heard of as a Canadian, and certainly things I have never had fresh homemade like gorditas. And most items are under $7, just WOW. LOVED the gordita, chicharron only on offer but still, so good! $5.50, perfect size little lunch for a normal adult appetite. Tried the chicken sopes too, lovely fresh sopes, generously topped although the chicken could use more flavour. No worries though, the homemade salsa was spicy delicious. We took the rest of it home to use later instead of tossing it. We also tried the elotes, which is beautifully presented but lacking in cotija. They use mayo to coat, tasted sweet like Kewpies, not really my thing as I dislike mayo and sweet creamy sauces. At $6.75 each, not really worth it. The food truck also has a cute theme. The owners grew up watching a Mexican kids' show called "El Chapulin Colorado" (the Crimson Grasshopper), and have used the theme throughout, including old toys from the 1970s. I had no idea the broader cultural influence this show had, including inspiring the Simpsons character "Bumblebee Man" and undoubtedly other goofy bug superheroes like "The Tick". Good food, great prices, and an impromptu lesson in Mexican pop culture influences? It doesn't get any better than that! We'll be back for sure next time!

It was a busy day in April when lots of tourists were around and the restaurant was quite busy, I have to give special thanks to our server who really busted her tail for us. Everyone enjoyed their drinks, my margarita was spot on, I would have gone for two, but I had to drive later. I was amazed how quickly the food arrived at the table, given the place was jammed! I had a combo that included a chicken enchilada and chili relleno. I believe it was "off menu" I do not remember, but they will accommodate your desires. The enchilada was fine, but my determining factor at Mexican restaurants is the chili relleno, which was superb, in my estimation. We were able to talk all across the table but due to the crowd that evening we had to add a few decibels to our speech! Do not get me wrong, this is not a horribly noisy place, but I would not suggest it if you want a quiet night out.
