We came here after spending the day in Napili beach. Location is great, ambiance is pleasant, service is fantastic. As we walked in, we were greeted immediately and asked if we preferred high tables in the bar area or dining and were seated right away. We ended up choosing to sit by the bar and were greeted by our server/bartender timely. We ordered chips and salsa, chips were warm and crisp to perfection salsa was super good! We ended up ordering the burrito, enchiladas and garlic shrimp. Everything was really good BUT the garlic shrimp was to die for! Definitely worth the $40! The sauce, the serving, the size of the shrimp...just amazing. And our server made our visit such a pleasant experience. I'd also like to add, well kept restrooms for customers say so much about an establishment. Highly recommend this place! read more

Got there right at 12 when they open. I ordered to go - Sergio's grade burrito with shredded beef , it was loaded with beef nothing else , very little bit rice or beans or cheese , average taste Kids tacos - forgot to give the tortillas with the order , had to go back and then they only gave two when the lady specifically mentioned it comes with 3 tortillas Maiz con queso - this was pretty good it come with chips but the lady said for to go orders we give complementary chips and salsa . There was no extra chips only whatever came with the dip. And the salsa wasn't very good either . Overall below average , may be other dishes are better but based on what we ordered it was average. read more

We had a party of 8. We had a reservation and when we arrived they were all set up for us. Drinks were great, we ordered margaritas and chips and salsa. The salsa was really good. The portions are on the larger side which is nice. I had a taco platter with shrimp tacos. When they came out I was worried they would be bland but they were not. There was some kind of sauce with them which was very good! Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was great minus not refilling waters. I've had lunch here twice on this trip and am impressed. The food is fantastic, service is good, and it has a comfortable welcoming vibe. I live in Denver where there is no shortage of good Mexican food and Sergio's would fit right in there. My first lunch I had the chili relleno, which was a nice sized poblano battered and fried to perfection. The red sauce had a nice kick and I appreciated the option of getting both refried and black beans with it. Both were quite good. On my second visit I tried the huevos rancheros which were equally good. The tomatillo sauce was an unexpected surprise. Great flavor, with a little heat and perfectly complimented the beans, your choice of black or refried, and eggs. This is a great option when you want something other than food trucks for a casual meal. read more

Had dinner here last night. My man ordered a short rib wet burrito and he loved it! I ordered a chili Verde enchilada and a chile relleno . Came with rice and beans. My daughter ordered two chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. The chili Verde was very good. I wish I would've ordered a chili Verde plate. My chile relleno was very good! My daughter thought her enchiladas were OK she wish that she would've got chili Verde rather than chicken she took a bite of my chili Verde and loved it. Our waitress was fantastic. Sergio's more like give me more of those (chips and salsa that is) All in all this spot was pretty yummy, I had no complaints, I but nothing had that *wow* effect. The chips and salsa were yummy. Chips perfectly salted and the salsa was uniquely blended, not a ton of spice but pretty nice. I ordered the nachos, they were pretty standard. Enough meat and cheese. The chicken was very tender and flavorful and I liked the good amount of pico de gallo on there. Honestly wish I had tried a salad they sounded very scrumptious. The people I was with ordered the pork tacos and the kids taco plate, both looked good and were pretty standard. Service was pretty nice and attentive, ambiance was decent. All in all, wouldn't go out of my way to come back, wouldn't be opposed to it. :) read more

One of the best Mexican restaurants in town. Their chips and salsa is amazing, and the salsa is so creamy!! It does get pretty crowded since it is on the smaller size but we normally make reservations or just go early. I had the chicken enchiladas and it was so yummy! Cute Spot with fast service! Our server was great and brought out our food as ordered. We tried the enchiladas, grande burrito and taco salad. Also got chips and salsa. The chips were delicious since they were warm and crunchy, tasting freshly made. The salsa was good but very mild. Free refills on the salsa and chips was a plus. Unfortunately, none of the sauces were spicy at all and as a Mexican family, our food naturally has some heat. We were expecting our burritos and enchiladas to have a bit of spicy but it was mild tomato sauce. Also the chile verde was not spicy at all either which traditionally it has at least a bit of a kick. We assume due to the customer base normally being unable to handle spicy, it makes sense for sauces to be mild to accommodate a bigger group. Something we all found interesting was the wide variety of protein choices for the plates. I ordered al pastor for my enchiladas which was a first time ever.. usually the choice is chicken or cheese filling. If you are feeling adventurous, this is the spot to try unconventional protein food pairings. As per pricing, most items were a bit on the higher end but the huge portions make up for it. Overall, place was decent for it being a Mexican spot in Maui and we all enjoyed our dinner. read more

I originally walked in just for a drink since it was pretty late, but they still offered food service -- and that was amazing because I was starving but didn't want to be a disturbance. The tacos, rice, and beans were absolutely spot on -- kisses to the chef! And that classic margarita? Hit the spot perfectly. Did its job and now I'm heading straight to bed satisfied. Stoped in on a Tuesday evening, it was packed but we were seated pretty quickly! There is bar and indoor seating at both regular tables and high tops. They offer taco Tuesday specials for certain tacos $5 each. Chips and salsa are available for an additional fee, we opted to try these and enjoyed them both very much, the salsa was unexpected and almost like an enchilada sauce, but was very tasty. The food was decent, we enjoyed the bean dip and salsa - overall it was some of the better Mexican food we've had in Hawaii. Service was very friendly and staff were all very attentive. The flautas were decent but the sauce was kind of tomato sauce, definitely not a traditional Mexican flavor. The short rib meat in the burrito was very bland, though very tender. Not pictured: we went on taco Tuesday (the only day they serve à la carte tacos) and the Al pastor tacos were honestly the best part of the meal. Spent the day doing the Road to Hana and needed a place to enjoy my birthday dinner. This place came recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint. We were seated right away, the staff was very welcoming and answered all our questions before we decided what to get. We opted to start with the tequila oyster shooters. They were so good and reminded me of a Bloody Mary shot but with tequila and a generous amount of oyster and pico salsa and flavor! I would highly recommend that shooter experience!! We loved all our plates!! I got the garlic shrimp which had a generous portion of big shrimp in a lemony brothy marinade and nice perfect chunks of garlic, yet somehow not "too" garlicky. Meaning - I didn't walk away with bad breath. LOL! My sister got the fish tacos which was perfect fresh mahi mahi and whatever sauces and toppings were in there were sooo good. Great rice and beans too. Ohh and the rice is vegetarian and if you want vegetarian beans make sure to ask for black beans and not refried beans! Came here for lunch. Was seated right when we went. The staff was super nice. My dad ordered a Modelo, Mom got a mango margarita, and we got a large horchata, which was large and also YUMMY!! Abby, our waitress was nice and told us what meats she recommended! There was a little mishap with the burritos but Abby fixed it and took care of us on that (things happen!). Happy hour at Sergio's! Mango margarita, light mango, was perfectly delicious and hit the spot after a long week. Went for the first happy hour of the day 2-5pm. Arrived at 3:30pm and it was busy but not crowded. Also split the veggie grande burrito (missed getting a pic, next time) and it lives up to its name. It's HUGE! Vegetables are so good. Zucchini, butternut squash, and corn were so well flavored. Erika was the bartender. She was fast, friendly and everything was on point. Bar is a little louder of an atmosphere than the tables but still great space for a conversation. Can't wait to go back again for happy hour soon! read more

We had dinner here on a taco Tuesday. It was busy, we did not have a wait but did wait quite awhile for our food which was expected since it was taco Tuesday. I ordered the taquitos, they were not my favorite because they came sitting in a red mole sauce so they were soggy. The flavor was good but I was expecting them to come crunchy. I didn't read the menu correctly so my bad. My husband had the mixture of the special tacos which were all great he said and added a side of beans and rice. Let's just start off by saying this place is really convenient to where we were staying and great for a happy hour! The restaurants located in a shopping mall that has a numerous amount of different types of businesses, including restaurants grocery etc. There's easy parking and easy access to the restaurant and it was pretty busy during happy hour. We got there and there was an open table at the bar and waited for a couple to leave so we can sit at the bar top. I can't remember the bartender's name, but she was training someone and they were both awesome and it really took care of us. The bar is pretty small and consisted of five tables and the bar had a lot of seating. The ambience is definitely your mextex restaurant or I should say more Americanized. The only thing I would say is that I come from California and we usually get chips and salsa once we sit down for free but here, you do have to pay if you want chips and salsa. I had ordered their margaritas which were definitely strong and delicious and I was in the mood for dessert so I asked for the recommendation and they definitely said go for the flan. The flan came out pretty fast and man was it delicious. This place is definitely somewhere where you wanna hit up because everything closes in Maui pretty early and this place had a happy hour and a late happy hour. This place was unexpectedly delicious. My family was there two summers ago, and on our last day we were arguing about where to eat and what everyone wanted. I found this place on line and when we drove over to it from our resort on Kaanapali, my husband pitched a fit because it was in a strip mall and he thought it was going to be terrible. We walked in and it was nicer than I thought it would be. He still wasn't convinced. We went back to the resort and went to one of the hotel restaurants on the beach, his idea of where we should be on our last night - despite the fact that we'd already had oceanfront dining at two other places and were ready to try something different. The rest of us didn't want to be there. My daughter got dress-coded for having a bathing suit top on at the beach (literally oceanfront, outdoors, and part of our resort). I get it, but it just added to the mood. The water they gave us tasted like it came out of a hose. The prices were dumb. We left. Everyone was mad at dad. And hangry. After going back to our room and looking at our options, we decided to go back to the first place (Sergio's) and just get takeout. I ordered a bunch of stuff, we picked it up and brought it back to our room. Everyone - even my husband - agreed the food was amazing and probably the best meal we'd had all week. Bonus that it didn't break the bank. Looking back in my camera roll, I actually did not take photos. Probably because I was mad. You should still go. The reason for my extremely late review is today I was talking to someone about to travel to that area and I told her she might want to look it up. They deserve the rave review. read more

This was hands down one of the best Mexican food restaurants I had ever eaten at, granted the most expensive but this is Hawaii. Service is super fast and we received our meal in almost less time than we got our drinks. Their salsa was really good with a roasted tomato kind of flavor. Their chicken enchiladas were also very good, with a hint of cinnamon. I loved my grande burrito with short rib. Always afraid to order short rib because of fat in the meat and there was none. My wife raved about their rice. We were stuffed but got talked into taking a slice of chocolate cake home and later we're surprised with how heavy it looked but how light it tasted. Great place. Only thing we would have wanted more of is heat/spice in the salsa and food, but the flavors were on point. read more
