They forgot my to-go order, charged me, refused to reimburse! (For the record, this is my first ever review, so this isn't just a rant) I was with a group of 5, pre-paid our sandwiches with a 20% tip at 12:42pm (to save the bartender the hassle dealing with our checks at the end) while waiting on the 1:15pm Ferry, giving us more than enough time to make the boat. We left at with our to-go bag at 1:12pm (30 minutes after our order was placed) and come to find out we had one less chicken sandwich, so I did what anyone else in 2019 would do; I called about the mix-up and asked politely to be reimbursed. What did she do? The bartender refused to refund me my money stating it was my fault for leaving without it! She handed us our to-go bag without the entire order; she messed up! She also said it only took 15 minutes for the order and we left too early...it took 30 minutes. Have text messages for proof. If you're looking for a quick bite and don't want to deal with lifeless bartenders who steal your money, there are plenty of other spots within a 3 minute walk. read more

I will admit, I've only had drinks here. Great location right on the marina where you can people watch and boat watch and soak in some sun. Friendly bartenders and a good selection of beers on tap. Perfect place to pass the time waiting for the ferry back to the mainland. read more

There are only a few places on the waterfront on the island of Martha's Vineyard, so those that occupy this coveted real estate get an automatic extra star just because of the water views. Sitting by the water looking at the Oak Bluffs harbor as you slurp on a rum punch or a cold beer can not be beat. But just be aware that this is not a place to go to for food. And it is not a place to go to if you are on a budget. And it is not a place to go to if you are in a hurry. Kick back on a bar stool, chat with the pony tailed, muscled landscaper on the seat next to you, and take in the tourists. Summer is short on the island so it's a good idea to get out there and enjoy it. Go elsewhere for food. read more

Their fish tacos were excellent, much better than other restaurants on that strip. My husband also enjoyed their cocktails. The pirate smash was excellent! The lobster roll was a large portion of lobster, but I still can't wrap my head around why they would give you so much lobster and have it be so plain. It also said very little mayonnaise on the menu, but it definitely had a lot of mayonnaise. It was a huge joke at our table when it came covered in heavy mayo. It basically was a buttered bun with lobster and mayo. Very underwhelming. The children in our party also enjoyed their meals. But, please keep in mind they do not have a children's menu here so you have to order off the app list. I would recommend less is more. For multiple kids they can definitely split a chicken finger. We had four adults and four children in our party. They did an excellent job accommodating our party. read more

We waited an hour for our food. We had to talk to the manager to get it because we were going to miss our ferry, the last one heading back to Wood's Hole. I think the bartender forgot to put our order in. People that came in half an hour after us got their food before us. When the food finally came out, my New England clam chowder was not hot, just warm. My husband's crab cakes, which were advertised as lump crabmeat, were backfin and claw-not lump crabmeat and they were burnt. All in all it was not a good experience. read more

Lobster roll was awful. I don't think this was lobster - it was more like imitation crab. Very disappointing. No flavor whatsoever.

It was hard to decide whether to give this a two or a three. I'm sticking with the three only because our waitress was very sweet. However, everything else I was not very impressed with. The oysters on the half shell were all right. We also had the shark bites which had a little too much batter on them and not enough meat. I ordered the oyster belly basket. They were over cooked and it was mostly fries with a small side of oysters. I need to douse them in hot sauce to get any sort of flavor. Another thing that bugged me was the table next to us ordered a beer, the waitress spilled it on him but still gave him the half empty bottle and never returned with a beer to replacement. I'm not sure if she charged him for it or not but it just seemed very unprofessional. All in all, I probably won't return. We also only ate here because Coop Deville was packed but that's where we really wanted to go. read more

I went here a few times over my vacation on the island. The staff was always friendly and they make a great drink! No matter what drink we ordered, it was strong and it was delicious. The food was typical of a touristy pub, nothing great, but good enough. The view's of the harbor are nice and it's close to the ferry if you're waiting around. read more

We happened upon this place visiting Martha's Vineyard. They seated our group of 6 quickly and lucky for us as it filled up right after. The food was excellent, big portions w unique infusions of jerk chicken and fried plantains. I had fried conch and the ahi app with rice noodles and edamame. Others in our group had the lobster roll, crab burger, fried clams, and jerk chicken sandwich and jerk salad. All were great and generous. Staff was friendly and service was good for as busy as they were. We had the skinny margaritas and they were light and refreshing. I recommend this spot for the food, service and awesome waterside location. Oh by the way, this is under new management or ownership and only a week. So the new management and chef rock it give it a try. read more

We got there around 11am off the morning ferry right as they were opening. We had a nice table, perfect for people watching, with a very nice waitress. The food was good, drinks were better, but there was one problem...just ONE. One bathroom! How is there only one restroom for the entire restaurant & bar. Granted it isn't a huge restaurant but come on, one bathroom! You had to keep an eye on the bathroom to see when the line would let up before racing from your table to make it there before anyone else got in line. read more

You'd think this place is a total tourist trap ripoff because of its real estate and ambiance, and you'd be partially right, but surprisingly the food here was more thoughtfully prepared than expected (i.e. not frozen). My seared tuna tacos with edamame and rice noodle slaw were actually decently tasty, although quite expensive at $18 for 2 big tacos and a side of curly fries. Not a place to go out of your way for (unless you're looking to grab a casual beer or two overlooking the water), but not the worst choice either. read more

Stopped in while waiting for late ferry...great location...certainly a favorite of locals who the bartender Mia was enthralled with. She and a male were behind the bar , both were completely oblivious to arriving customers (unless you were a local) Mia is the absolutely the RUDDEST person behind a bar I have EVER encountered! My goodness, why would anyone expect her to DO HER JOB and Serve a customer... that would interrupt her conversation with the locals!!! My friend told me to leave her zero tip! I left $2 for the first 2 drinks...next round she didn't even return my change from a $20...needed a napkin & grabbed a wrapped fork & knife and she ripped it out of my hand and threw napkins at me....if she worked for me she would be fired on the spot! We stopped by your nice bar overlooking the bay and the young blonde girl with long hair and 2 pens in her ponytail was the MOST UNFRIENDLYEST BARTENDER!! It is what it is. Not a culinary masterpiece. But I've been there twice and haven't had a "bad" experience. The views are great. The food is pricey (but it's pricey no matter where you go). I actually really liked the clam chowder which I tend to be picky about. My lobster role was quite good. Probably shouldn't quite be 3 stars but I felt bad for the limited (1 to be exact) wait staff. Lookout Tavern around the corner easily has the edge in both food and service...but is also always packed. As for Fishbones...I'd go back. read more

This place is definitely a 3 star kind of place, not horrible, but not great. Went there with my family the other night and had a pretty good meal. I ordered the Island Lobster which was just boiled lobster with drawn butter on the side and french fries. It was good but nothing special. My husband ordered the crab cakes which he enjoyed, but again, I tried a bite and they were good, but nothing special. The service was good, not as bad as the previous reviewer's experience. Our server was actually very attentive and sweet. I guess it depends who you get, I wish I could remember our server's name....very thin, blue eyes and brown hair, anyway, she was good, but I can't speak for the others. The atmosphere at this place was very good, right on the harbor. I wouldn't go here again because it just didn't blow me away and there are plenty of other places to try, but I don't regret eating here either. read more

Friendliest bartending staff on the vineyard! Stopped here for mimosas on our first day of vacation and felt like we had to go back almost everyday for at least a drink just to say whats up. Husband would give it a 4 but I give it a 2. The crab cakes appetizer was flavorful and full of crab. His tuna steak dinner with coconut rice and corn-on-the-cob was cooked correctly and was a good portion/value. My complaint was with the fish tacos. Very flavorful but they attempted to cover up the lack of fish with extra black bean salsa. Bit into the taco 3 times before I came across any haddock. So it's past the summer season and some places have closed already, but they were still open so we tried it (and we had enjoyed their sister restaurant Outlook). Huge disappointment. They weren't super busy and we were stuck in the corner at a 2 person table, with a missing chair that had to be retrieved from outside AND placed next to a 6 person rowdy party. We should have asked to be moved... the drinks were ok, the food was just alright. I ordered the steak tacos and they were ok, but were supposed to come with chips and a huge plate of curly fries showed up. I asked about the chips and was told she'd check, maybe they were out and were substituted. She never came back. I never touched one curly fry; I just don't like them. I expected to be asked if I'd prefer another side. So, $17 for two tacos... my friend had the conch fritters which were too bread-y the chowder was a bit thin lacking some flavor and few clams. Needless to say, we won't be back. The server was more concerned with the rowdy party and making sure they had enough drinks and was encouraging them to continue singing. read more

Took my 2 boys (age 10 and 12) to MV for the 1st time this summer. After walking around oak bluffs, we were hungry and wanted to sit down for lunch. We decided on fishbones since we could be seated right away. asked the waitress if they had kids chicken fingers and she said yes. what she didn't tell me was that it was adult portion with approx. 6 large chicken fingers without fries. ordered 2 chicken fingers for each boy and they came without fries and cost $13 each. had to order fries seperate. Lobster roll looked overly stuffed but realized it was just sitting on top of hot dog bun. Very expensive lunch for the 3 of us. cost for lunch was $80 (top included). next time we will wait in line at nancy's and get chicken fingers with fries for $8.95. read more
