    Lobster Roll (warm)
    Billy C.

Landed in Martha's Vineyard hungry. Dropped off our luggage and Chowder Company was the first restaurant we ate at. Started strong with the calamari! Fresh and seasoned well. Hot and tasty with that good dip. Stuffed clams were loaded up with flavor and were great. The clam chowder was a bit watery but packed flavor. The lobster roll was fresh! Loaded with butter and huge plate of fries. The lobster roll was loaded with a lot of claw meat. It wasn't seasoned with much of anything. It felt lacking and plain. The captains seafood pasta was loaded with a variety of seafood! It had lobster, scallops, and shrimp with creamy garlic butter sauce. All the seafood was fresh but the pasta felt old and cooked. The sauce was lacking in flavor. Tbh, if I didn't see the menu, I wouldn't have known it was a garlic butter sauce. Overall the food had some highs and lows, the service was quite slow in the beginning. We waited by the door to be seated for quite a while even though the restaurant was near empty.

Went here tonight with family. Genuinely amazing cold lobster roll! Would recommend to anyone dining in Oak Bluffs!

04.11.2025 We had a great time here! A comfortable atmosphere and great service from our waiter, Egor. The crab rangoon was definitely tasty and fresh! The cod was cooked perfectly and wasn't bland. The piña colada martini was really good.

Stopped in for drinks & ended up eating a late lunch. The restaurant was decorated nice & it was clean . The staff wasn't very friendly. The food was awesome we had the lobster roll & shrimp tempura sushi. The drinks were also very good .

Chowder and lobster bisque were excellent!! Very fresh and authentic. I also ordered a steak sandwich. Could have been a decent sandwich but I don't like cheese, especially American cheese on my steak!! I forgot to tell them no cheese.

I'm not sure how this place isn't 5 stars o. Yelp. Everything was fantastic from the service all the way to the food! The only thing that could make it better is it it was on the water and had more outside seating. Our server was so knowledgeable about the area and was patient with the questions we asked. The Chowder was my #1 bowl of chowder on the trip. We shared the Mini crab cakes- 10/10. I preferred these over actually crab cakes. It was a great shareable item and you got a lot. They come out looking like Hush Puppies. The Lobster roll was the best one I've ever had and I've had PLENTY while I was in Bar Harbor, ME so that is saying something. I got the hot buttered one. The margarita was great as well. I would go back in a heartbeat! Stop in and you won't be disappointed.

On our return to Boston in the afternoon, planned to have a quick lunch and this place didn't disappoint. The hot honey chicken sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had and the fries were to die for. My partner had a chowder and she was happy. The service was relatively quick and servers were helpful. They understood our time crunch and got us the meal quickly. Restaurant had a nice classy vibe but it was empty on a Sunday afternoon which was expected in mid April.

Very good chowder. We sat outside on their little porch which was very nice. Our server was very sweet and helpful.

Very friendly service that felt extra friendly and fast. I only got the chowder and agree that it was really good. The ambiance felt like a dark country bar to me when I was there at lunch time but very spacious.

Ok, for real. This is the MVP for Oak Bluffs! I ordered the famous Clam Chowder and boy did it deliver. It's made different, more brothy than creamy and it really was PERFECT. It tasted like southern comfort stew in a hearty bowl of goodness. It was absolutely delicious! Run, don't walk.

If you're new to MV (Martha Vineyard), OAK BLUFF & The Inkwell are still the #IT spots. Circuit Ave or the "OB Stroll" is always bustling with wonderful smiling faces or a nod from a stranger to welcome you. One of my main favorite eateries on MV, in Oak Bluff is Martha's vineyard Chowder Company. It's definitely economically priced, with a menu that makes you salivate! My daughter and I were enjoying our annual retreat on Cape Cod & celebrating my 60th Bday (11/11); and it was Epic for sure. Our waiter Andres was a beautiful superstar that catered & served us well. A MUST have are: The Sangria , Lobster Guacamole , The Mixed Burger & Linguine bolognese. I give MV Chowder Company Countless Stars‼

The clam chowder at Martha's Vineyard Chowder Company was off the chain, but let's be real, the service by Alassandro was the real MVP. I mean, this guy went above and beyond, treating us like royalty even though we just wanted to try their clan chowder.. We were actually looking for Angela, who I'd chatted with the day before and got the lowdown on the restaurant and her own personal journey. Angela moved to the vi Martha's Vineyards from Greece but Alassandro was just as awesome. So, I gave the hostess, Angela, and Alassandro a 5-star review, because they totally deserved it. The chowder was good, too. Only bummer was no live tunes. at the time we were there. Next time I'm in Oaks Bluff, I'm definitely coming back, because the service is top-notch and the clam chowder was satisfactory .

Thanks to yelp, I stumbled upon the shuck shack... easy to mix so check out the photos! This place has a true New England feel, with great views for people watching and beautiful scenery of the water and boats. The environment is very lively and they have a selection of raw and cooked seafood. I took a seat at the few stools at the bar, ordered a drink, clams, and shrimp. The shrimp were large and delicious! I also liked option to order half or full dozen. The clams, to my surprise, were shucked right in front of me.. great touch but word of advice.. don't make my mistake. There is a RAW section and COOKED section on menu and yes to my surprise, I accidentally ordered calms from the raw menu.. never knew raw clams were a thing ::cringe:: and after one try- definitely not a win for me. However! This place is a must, a true Vineyard experience with friendly servers and great views!!

The clams I had were steamed to perfection and the shrimp cocktail had huge shrimp in them. Their prices overall are very, very reasonable. But what makes it so special is the atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and competent. The view is unbeatable considering you are 10 feet from the harbor and have a perfect spot to watch the boats coming and going. A great value for your money.

The next thing you'll notice is that the staff is very friendly and really trying to manage the chaos that is being caused by a chaotic kitchen. We were seated directly in-front of the kitchen, so we saw everything: - two or three wait staff anxiously waiting for orders in front of the service station (pick-up) area; - a chef continually looking at an inappropriate movie that was playing on a screen that was oddly positioned where the kitchen staff could view it (WHY) - a kitchen staff that was either doing nothing or working frantically - this is an indication of very poor management; - mediocre appetizers but passable - the entrées were ridiculously poor. I'll only describe mine to save time, but trust each of four were failures. The nerve to send to the table a beautiful piece of blue fin tuna that smelled like the gas used by a small propane gun, that had been partially burned - like on 1/2 of the fish. This shows zero respect for this beautiful creature or the people who ordered it. The lobster risotto that was beneath the fish was cold, lacked any flavor of lobster, and looked as though it had been thrown on the plate from across the room, and then to have the nerve to charge $60 + dollars is ridiculous. We of course requested to speak with the manager, who immediately came to our table, empathized and apologized, we felt heard. He then comped our entire meal which was very generous and appreciated. The chef then came over to apologize, and stated, "I'm so sorry, we dropped a pan and that threw everything off". WHAT? Buddy, we sat there and watched the chaos in your kitchen. The problemS, are not the result of a dropped pan. Apology appreciated, lame excuse was unnecessary and again demonstrated a lack of respect or intelligence. I may return alone, just to see if anything has changed or what show is on the TV.
