Treat yo'self! This place just blew my mind with what I thought was a relatively simple dish. I got an island bowl bags pretty much rice, pico, avo, and black beans served with warm tortillas. They recommended I add the yellowtail fish (which was freshly caught locally this morning!) and I couldn't stop eating. Like who needs to breathe with your food is that good?? Not this girl! This is my FAVOURITE lunch in place in Key West. Out of the craziness of Duval St but still a beautiful view and very fair prices. Freshly squeezed OJ right in front of you. Fair servings and a yelp discount given for check in! Best sweet potato fries in the world and a cute seething area that is totally photo worthy. The lady that took our order was lovely and you're not charged for ice water which is a blessing in Key West. The only thing that could make this place the best in Key West would be a fan outside or mist similar to other places. As we were already out of Key West on our last day we found ourselves about to drive the full Key again just to go back for lunch but decided to go full vacation and find one on the way. Saw that this place was highly recommended so I decided to try it out. There is parking on the side street and as for seating there isn't much. It is an outdoor restaurant and all the seating is outside but was didn't have an issue finding seating. I ordered the Mac and Cheese with lobster. We got the food pretty quickly and decided to takeout because it was too hot to sit outside. The Mac and Cheese itself was yummy but kind of rich so I couldn't eat too much. As for the lobster, although it had good flavor but was too chewy. They didn't mix the lobster into the Mac and Cheese it was just put on top. I don't know if it might have been old lobster or what but I ended up not eating the lobster. My boyfriend had the conch sandwich and he loves conch but said that it was just good and wasn't too thrilled about it. The food had great flavor but the lobster was chewy and the Mac and Cheese too rich to have too much of it. We went to key west and came across this little shack on a walk. It was cute and they had chairs on the outside to sit. I got the fish taco with yucca fries. My husband got the black bean burger with the side of Fries. The black bean patty comes With double patty avocado and this amazing sauce. The fish taco comes in flour tortilla the size Of the fish is good enough to share in my opinion the yucca fries were really good. The avocado sauce they use on the tacos are really good. 2 words - GUAVA TOAST! You could easily walk past this little restaurant without notice, but it is a MUST TRY. The guava toast just melts in your mouth! There are so many great options, but I chose the fresh catch of the day tacos, which happened to be yellowtail snapper (delicious). They give you FULL fillets in each taco, blackened perfectly.
