Great spot to walk up and grab some fresh breakfast. The staff was very friendly. The food is cooked fresh. They have some outdoor seating to sit and enjoy your food if you wish (right by the marina and Jimmy Buffets recording studio).

I came here when we were in Key West and looking for a quick, good seafood place, so I found this place based off Yelp reviews. I ordered the mahi sandwich as I wanted to keep carbs down since it also came with fries. We waited a pretty decent amount of time which I was fine with as it was an obviously small place with only 1 cook, etc but I unfortunately ended up getting the sandwich. I didn't want to wait even longer as I was starving by that point so I just ate it. It was really good, and the fries were great too, so other than that it was good and I'd return.

You can tell a place is good when they know everyone's name that is coming up to the window. I had time for breakfast before my flight so I wanted something now and then something for later. It appeared that most workers nearby came here if not daily, then often. I got a breakfast sandwich with ham, egg, and cheese on Cuban bread. They toasted it perfectly and there was PLENTY of fillings. It was perfect. I got the shrimp po boy but they put it in a wrap for me. Shrimp was great and the sauce was a great balance. This really is an underrated spot!

Sausage, egg, and cheese is delish. Pairs perfectly with the Café con Leche and soft breeze off the ocean. Highly recommend this gem

We continue to really enjoy Fisherman's Cafe. The location can't be beat and neither can the fries. Best on Key West for sure. We both had the hoffish sandwgich (one fried and one grilled). Definitely can recommend highly no matter how you get it. Honestly, one is enough to split they are so filling. Skip the coffee unless you like it really sweet. Can't wait to cone back next year.

I got the cuban breakfast sandwich with an iced caramel latte and my husband got the buffalo shrimp basket. Both were delicious, service was friendly and food came out very quickly!

So delicious!! I love little walk-up places like this when I need a quick bite, but don't want restaurant table service. Fisherman's café is easy you just order at the counter. The seafood options are fantastic, there are several fish sandwich options and fish platters, shrimp and lobster options. I had a blackened mahi sandwich which was absolutely delicious. The sauce on top was so good, and the fillet of fish was thick! My husband had the special coconut lobster roll which was also unique & so delicious!! We will definitely come back here many more times during our stay in Key West. I even signed up for the rewards program :)

Cubano breakfast sandwich! This is a monster sandwich, definitely shareable and enough for 2 people. The sides are okay, seems to depend on the time of day. We walked around the marina and Duval with the loaded sandwich and delicious coffee. Good times and a good stop! read more

This food was so great!! We loved how they came in the convenient cardboard containers. We had the fish and I ordered the Fish Tacos and the island bowl. Everything was fresh and hot!! If you are in Key West you have to stop by this place!! There's not much seating but you can find you a corner somewhere. You won't be disappointed with this food!! Try it!! read more

Me and my family were fortunate enough to eat at Fisherman's Cafe twice and we can say with great confidence that it is a experience that shouldn't be passed up. The location is great; right near the bay where it fits in terrifically with a vintage feel. The owners did a great job making the new restaurant look old, and still clean and fresh. All seating is outside and I wouldn't recomend trying to seat more than four people, but the surroundings and vibe make up for the lack of room. The food and drinks are inexpensive for the area and have superb taste. I personally have tried all sides; sweet potato fries, french fries, and bacon Mac and cheese. Both kinds of fries are fried to perfection and the Mac and cheese is full of flavor. I had both the bacon cheeseburger and the beanburger and they were both satisfyingly delicious. The burger was cooked as I requested(medium) which I've found to be a rare occasion in The Keys and the bean burger was flavorful unlike any I've ever had. One of a most outstanding parts of my food experience was the lobster tacos. The tacos were filled with fresh juicy meat and unlike any other tacos in Key West they had plenty of lobster. I have not had the breakfast but from what I have seen and my experience with The Fisherman's Cafe it's extremely flavorful and I would love to try it. Our server was extremely kind and ours meals arrived quickly. The service provided was great; our orders were taken correctly without trouble or confusion, the server payed attention to us, and the cooks truly cared about what they dished out. I have been wanting to try this place for so long and it was worth the anticipation! I tried the fish sandwich and it was so well balanced with caramelized onions, a creamy remoulade, and lightly blackened fish! You can't go wrong with this! The fries were also very good hand cut and freshly made. Plus they give you a huge heap of them! Would definitely come here again! Nice and fresh food right by the water! read more

Don't let the size of this place deter you, the food here is way better than the big name places on Duval. This is a quick walk up with fresh seafood. The yellowtail fish tacos are the best I've had in the keys. Tacos came with a generous side of sweet potato fries. I'll definitely be back to try the conch dip! read more

Great location. Awesome service. Delicious fresh healthy food. Best fish tacos in key west. Must Get the yuca fries and the green dipping sauce. For a healthy choice (after all the fried food everywhere else on the island)try the shrimp wrap (no bacon no mayo) but lots of lettuce tomatoes and avocado and of course local blackened shrimp. read more

A rude woman at the front desk who giggles and laughs while you give your order or ask any questions. She did not understand what I was saying (I consider myself well versed with English communication, and I am understood everywhere around the US). Asked about the fresh catch, and was told laughingly that we always have yellowtail, so there is nothing fresh about the catch. :) Go if you have patience. read more

I order the lobster tacos from a suggestion from the reviews. I was disappointed. The lobster was tough and chewy. Top it off it had no flavor it was very bland. I would give the food zero stars. The one thing that stood out to me was the lady who takes your order at the counter. She was very friendly and when the food comes out she knows who people are that order what. Great spot! Thanks to fellow yelper's recommendations we grabbed a late lunch here. It is a hut and there are stools and also spots to stand and eat at. I had the fish tacos with rice and beans. Huge portions! And my boyfriend had the shrimp wrap. Both of us loved our meals so much that we finished everything without sharing. A bit off the path from where we normally go, but worth the extra walk. read more

So I stopped here by chance and had the most amazing lunch. I ordered the shrimp wrap with avocado and Bacon. It came with some delicious yucca fries with a cilantro lime dipping sauce. Be careful as they come out quite hot. Looking forward to my next trip down to the keys to try something new! read more

One word...WOW! Hands down the BEST bite I had anywhere in key west, and I ate at a number of places this past week. They're a small little open cafe with a few seats, but if you want the tastiest and freshest seafood this is the spot. It is nestled right by the water on Greene st. in between small local shops, and exudes the best vibes!!!I ordered the blackened fish sandwich which was yellowtail (in season and so fresh...they also only get a certain amount each day, so you've got to get there before they run out!) on a potato bun with the most delicious slaw and the perfect amount of cajun remoulade. It was an enormous serving and simply tasty. I also ordered the yuca fries which were perfectly cooked and super crispy on the outside, yet soft, creamy, and tender inside (served with a yummy dipping sauce). I couldn't have asked for a better meal! The ambience is the epitome of key west and the staff are so warm, friendly, and absolutely love serving their customers! If you go anywhere to eat in the keys you MUST choose the fisherman's cafe! I was really blown away by this little gem! read more

Awesome quick food before going out a wreck dive The Vandenburg. This was my second time here, I got the same order as last time 2years ago, El Cubano Breakfast sandwich and Ice coffee. We stopped here for a coffee right before snorkeling. We both ordered Cafe Con Leche and they were the best on the island! It was so good, we came back to try their lobster tacos when we got back. They were wonderful!!! Definitely one of our favorite places in Key West. read more

Walked up to the window and grabbed a menu off one of the tables (location is small and only has 3 outdoor tables which seat about 2-4 people each) Looked over the menu and chose to get the lobster tacos priced at 13.25 When i ordered my total with a soda came to 21. When i asked her why she said taxes! And then said that everything i eat in key west will have very high taxes (what? Lol) I looked at the reciept and she rung up the tacos at 16.99, tax was 1.48. When i asked her she rolled her eyes, sighed and said well thats what it is and i showed her the menu with the printed price and she said id have to talk to the manager who wasnt there. Just very unpleasant experience and after reading several reviews saying the "lobster" was fried, rubbery and gross im glad it didnt work out. Dont have menus out with prices and then charge higher at the window its unprofessional, we ate amazing lobster rolls at the lobster shack instead and enjoyed it thoroughly read more

Delicious spot to get solid fish tacos or fish sandwich. Serving size was excellent with loads of fries and the staff worked hard to get our food out quick. Only downside to this place is the lack of seating. It's a small shack with seating for about 8-10 people so if it's a busy time you'll most likely be taking it to go. read more

I don't think it was as strong as some other Cuban coffee I've had but I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, so you still got a nice coffee flavor without being overpowered by sugar. Love the mural on the side and there are lots of roosters hanging around begging for some of your leftovers.

The place is very small and very packed, so I would advise to get there either early or filter to run for a later brunch. The space is pretty small, but it is really cute and the baked goods are insane and gone by 10 on a Friday. Fresh baked bread fresh pastries looked unbelievably good. They have a large selection of fresh maid smoothies, and juices made while you wait which is perfect for after a night of drinking! I saw some pictures on Yelp of the eggs Benedict and they have a full page devoted to different types of eggs Benedict. I decided on this smoked salmon eggs Benedict and it was probably the best I've ever eaten in my life in any country. It was literally that outstanding!! The food comes out relatively fast although they're insanely busy and it's efficient.. It's not a place you lounge around with a lot of people - eat and get out, because there is a line waiting to be seated no matter what day what time. These servers really hustle too. This place is also known for its coffee which they have a lot of different varieties iced and hot and it's absolutely top-notch, pair that with some fresh baked goods and you've got yourself one hell of a start to your day. I've always loved Evelyn's for breakfast or Sarabeth's, but this place blew it away in my opinion and I've been coming here for 15 years for work. This is my absolute go to breakfast place for you yelpers if you're interested - I don't think you'll be disappointed!!

Four of us split the pancake board and each ordered a breakfast entree and quickly realized our eyes were way too big for our stomachs. They had dairy alternative milks and several housemaid syrups which I am always a sucker for. I highly recommend going at least once.. But if you visit once, you will want to go again. My husband said his Eggs Benedict was excellent as well. To drink, I had the Caramel Latte, which was absolutely delicious. I prefer flavored coffee drinks, so it was the perfect choice for me.
