Been here a couple of times now and the food is good. I wish they wouldn't have more options in the happy hour. We had a couple of drinks and those were great. The service was good. We got the gentleman. It was very nice and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like the outside seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would just recommend for them to put a TV outside to be able to watch the games.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My family and I used to go here all the time for the live catch seafood. We drove all the way to Oxnard from the valley to learn that ownership had changed and so has the restaurant/market format. Now it's more like seafood dive bar situation. No more abundance of crabs to buy and take home. Ended up eating there to try the food anyway. Service was attentive and unhurried despite having a huge party of football fans the day we came. Did have to flag them down for water refills every once in a while since they sat us in the back corner. My fish and chips unfortunately did not have a shattery shell like I was hoping it would. It was a little soggy on the underside. Clam chowder had reduced a little too much and had gone a little gloopy but still tasted yummy. Lots of clams inside. Portions are pretty generous for the price compared to other seafood spots. All other items were good but unfortunately no longer the drive we used to make for this spot. Would definitely eat here again if we're in the area however.

Red Snapper Burger was a light and delicious "burger". Ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful. Recommend cutting it in half as the size is pretty big and can get messy, but not too messy. Which is great that it comes with fries. The waffle fries were also good as they were light, crunchy and a great scooper from any fallen ingredients of the burger. Service was helpful even if short staffed yet was efficient. Overall would eat this again.

It's been almost 2 years since I've been here and there's been a management change. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No longer are there tanks along the wall right as you walk in. They now have sit down service with a full wait staff and a new bar[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. You can still order at the counter, but if you are dining in, you get the full experience. They also have a Happy Hour menu from 3-6pm everyday. Keep in mind that their sit down service doesn't start until after lunch if I remember correctly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not sure if this is a good or bad thing TBH. On the one hand, if you are there for just seafood like how H.C. or Redondo Pier is, then all you need is a table. But with the full service, not sure if you are allowed to take up tables just for that[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I did notice that there were tables outside. Maybe that's where you are supposed to sit if you just want the H.C. experience[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

We went on Memorial Day and the service really nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was chill, the servers were polite, they checked on us quite frequently since we were the only group in the back patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the clam chowder which was delicious but when I ordered the red snapper burger with tartar sauce on the side, I was a bit disappointed. The snapper had no seasoning and tasted really bland. Maybe the tartar sauce had all the flavors but even adding it after didn't do it for me. I ended up eating some of the fries which were really fresh and crispy. I was considering ordering something else but the kitchen was already closed.

This is what the lobster rolls look like now vs a year ago im the other picture... They added celery as a filler and took away the amount of lobster they had before. And they also changed the fries to be thicker cut. Same price, less lobster... The aoli was good though.

I'm with a large group and we are rehearsing at a local school about 15 minutes away. We were looking at places to get good seafood and this came up as highly rated. We were short on time and ordered quick items so we could grab a bite to eat and then head back to work. The waitress was very nice and quickly got our orders. I got a bread bowl and clam chowder. The bread had a really cool design on top and had the right amount of sponge and chewiness for the sourdough. The soup was less desired and tasted like it didn't have much seasoning in it. There were good amounts of clam and potato, but the cream was the most powerful part of the soup. Seems like a very popular place and it's located really conveniently next to the water. Will try it again in the future.

First time to visit this place, and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered clam chowder, Captain's combo, and Cod fish and chips plus sides of bread and cajun corn. We enjoyed our orders but was underwhelmed with the clam chowder. Customer service was good- Caitlyn was attentive and warm. There is also ample parking.

There have been a couple of changes! The food is always fried well. Today I saw new staff, so thankful !!! The new girl is friendly and very welcoming. I held off on reviewing because I had interacted with some not so friendly staff a few weeks back. The friend fish combo is great as always.

On a total whim we came here for lunch since we were walking around the Channel Islands Harbor which is behind the Seabridge Marketplace. Service from the moment we walked in was phenomenal, warmly greeted. We took some time to look at the menu and our cashier/server was great at answering our questions. I ordered the coconut shrimp and my parents had the lunch specials. The place was clean...even though it is a seafood place, the place didn't smell "fishy". We sat in a booth and the food was brought to us fairly quickly. The coconut shrimp was by far the best coconut shrimp I have ever had and the orange sauce that accompanied it was phenomenal!!!! We all enjoyed our meal, the portions of the lunch special were perfect and the prices were reasonable. There was another worker there that thanked us for choosing the Fisherman's Catch and asked if we needed anything else. He was also so friendly. He was cleaning and getting utensils ready. I suspected he was the owner and on our way out I asked him if he was, he answered yes. I don't think he was friendly just because he was the owner, his way of being seemed to come naturally. I let him know that we really liked our food and that the coconut shrimp were the best! He told me that he isn't really a fan of coconut shrimp but that he enjoys these because of the orange sauce. Perfect, low key restaurant that I highly recommend! Plus, bathrooms were clean. Parking is a plentiful since this restaurant is located in a shopping center. AND before or after your meal, you can enjoy a super nice walk along the Harbor. Great little relaxing place.

Food taste is good! For this visit we ordered Clam Chowder, Captain's Platter and Ceviche. I'm grading it lower because of how the servings have been reduced to measly portions. Also, the two bowls of clam chowder were very salty. I liked the beer battered cod, calamari, and fried shrimp. Ceviche needs some salt. Chocolate Cake & Ice Cream is about $19 - it's not even good. Cake is dry and tastes like the paper it was probably wrapped in. Service is ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is ok, TV just a tad loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is a disappointing visit.

We drove all the way out from Los Angele to do some shopping and pick this spot to eat -- and we would absolutely make the drive again! The food was amazing. The lobster roll was fresh and flavorful, and the clam chowder was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Our server, Audrey, was the best -- super helpful, friendly, and attentive. The owner, Mr. Lopez, was incredibly hospitable and made us feel so welcome. Such a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Service was ok . Cashier was semi friendly . The man that brought our food... not so much . My friend asked for the hot sauce and he just pointed. No words were exchanged, he just planted the calm chowders . He then came back and said , " your number" and we gave it to him. Counter service . You get a number and pick a seat. .Quick and easy. Place looks like it needs a bit of TLC or they may be painting . I loved loved loved the calm chowder there 5/5 . It's my new fave as others are a bit watery and I don't like the flavor. I used to love Lure's in Ventura but the recipe changed. The service wasn't the best so an overall 3.5, rounded to a 4 for me. Service is extremely important to me . I work hard for my money and want to spend it where I feel comfortable/welcomed :) Just some notes as this area gets a lot of tourists . I'll be back hoping service will get better.

Salmon plate is phenomenal! I was served two huge salmon steaks. The salmon was fresh grilled deliciousness w/steamed rice & veggies. I went to get some seafood alone on Mother's Day during this pandemic and you guys didn't let me down! Thank you!! The atmosphere was still positive and upbeat, yet keeping it Rona-correct. Food and service both 5 stars! Thanks again for making my Mother's Day better. :) read more

Not only that crabs became expensive but also the female crabs are always gone , not sure if the person manning the crab section is hiding or reserving them for his friends. It's time for the owner to spot check other wise his store will be affected. No matter what time you look for the female crabs they're are always gone. Owner please check . Cooked food are best though and it's just the crabs that is suspicious. read more

Yesterday me and 3 of my friends came and ordered ordered clam chowder, and calamari in this restaurant. As we were eating the Filipina waitress ask us to go out as we were eating some crabs bought from outside. She should be more considerate sometimes cause there are 20 tables inside and only 2 tables were occupied and besides we bought some of their food.. She ask us to step outside and eat our food there. i've been eating here more than 20 times but this is the only time i was very unhappy and unsatisfied. Sometimes they should be flexible. I would understand if it was full but it was not. I'm not coming back to this store. read more

Came here after the California Strawberry Festival. It wasn't very packed but very spacious and got busier as our meal went on. The food was all very fresh, but standard seafood. Nothing too incredibly special. The clam chowder was pretty tasty, though! Not life-changing but a solid chowder! The owner was very kind and built a rapport with our party. He personally came to our table and checked up on us himself near the end of our meal. And our waitresses were also very sweet and accommodating to our youngest diners tastes. Overall, a solid family seafood restaurant. read more

I really love the sushi here! I always get the fiesta roll. Tempura inside with spicy crab meat and jalapeño outside with eel sauce, my favorite! And their ahi tuna sushi is really good always fresh! read more

This place used to be so good. Not sure what happened. Last time we came I got my go to, a shrimp burrito. It had no flavor whatsoever. I ended up picking the shrimp out and tossing the rest, and even doing that wasn't good. My other issue is they give out water cups that are the size of a shot glass. We asked for a bigger cup and you would have thought we'd asked for our meal for free. We used to come here pretty regularly but now I'd rather go practically anywhere else. read more

The fried fish was great; flavorful, breaded just right, thoroughly enjoyed, great portions. I also got a lobster roll, I'm not a fan of chilled lobster so that was a miss for me. If you want buttery lobster this isn't the place to go. Their taco portions are also pretty big. I only got one taco but it was perfect for what I needed, 2-3 could fill someone up possibly. read more

New England clam chowder never disappoints. Tell them to scrape it from the bottom and its even better. I find that if you get the clam chowder later towards the evening, its better. I always get their fish tacos because there's nothing like a good fish taco in this area. Real comforting. 4 stars because I know what the best clam chowder tastes like and you gotta go up north for that. read more

I decided to stop by cause of the great review...I'm glad I did. I ordered fish & chips and clam chowder. Food was excellent especially the clam chowder...it had a wow factor. One of the best clam chowder I've eaten....I wanted to get some more but I was full. Fish was very fresh and fries was just okay. Service was good as well. Walking around this lovely community one get hungry. So whats open for take-out during this horrific apocalypse? This place has a nice menu, they have fresh fish. We got a fish and chips combo (have had better and worse but decent) with fries. Its $12.95+tax for 4 HUGE fish pcs and a load of fries, so great value....easily feeds 2. But a little too greasy for me/heavy. The 2 pc is only $7.95 plus tax with a boatload of fries, very filling even for a pig like me. Really sat heavy in tummy just the 2pc w/fries, and Im a fast food monster Wife got the grilled mahi mahi plate with 2 sides, it was around 18-20 bucks, much better and lighter option, any grilled fish. They also have fresh shellfish and raw fish to go, but since so far to go back home didnt feel like looking. A depressing interior but solid food and value. Tartar sauce needs some work. read more

Grabbed an early dinner here a few nights ago since I was craving fish and chips. We ordered over the phone so a poor cell connection might have been to blame, but I ordered the Captain Hook combo (a few pieces of fried cod + shrimp) and received the Captain combo instead (2 pieces of fried cod, shrimp + calamari). I didn't mind too much though, the calamari tasted fresh and the portions were generous, so the amount of fish and shrimp I had was more than enough. My dad ordered the fish tacos and felt like the tortillas were too thin and the mahi mahi had more of a tuna texture. As tourists from San Diego, we weren't sure if this was an intentional departure from the classic fish taco or if this is standard for tacos in this area. Either way, be sure to keep this in mind if you're planning on ordering the tacos! Also, we really liked the cole slaw! We ordered a large to split between 3 people and lemme tell you, they're NOT kidding around when they say large. It was on the sweeter, crunchier side on of the cole slaw spectrum and included little bits of pineapple (which might sound weird but really added an extra freshness). Overall, great local business to support if you're craving fresh seafood. read more

This better be worth it. I received my food at 7pm and ordered at 6:28pm. Workers were nice and polite. Customer service was good. They were busy and I didn't rush my food. I patiently waited however no one asked me what I was waiting on after everyone was receiving their food and leaving. This was my first experience with you. Will it be my last?????? Came here and the lady was straight up RUDE. I told her I traveled all the way from NYC and she rejected me. I told her I was waiting to try your tasty food. She lied to me, she said the business closed in 5 mins and it was only 8:10ish... Your yelp says 8:30pm. I told her I own a business a NYC and I know what customer service looks like. To be traveling to a place to order food, I have no respect for how I was treated!! I am sure your food is good, but this lady that I have included a photo of is unpleasant and hoping she remembers this moment to give good service. Like I said, I own business, I know what good service looks like. If someone is coming all the way to try your food, at least say, I hope you can come next time, don't just straight up reject me!!! That's bad service. Offer an opportunity for God sake, have respect for others!!!! I am hoping she contacts me to apologize. I always order the Salmon Burrito and it never ceases to exceed my expectations. Everything on the menu is good they can't disappoint. Their Shark Bites rule, the Clam Chowder is super tasty, my Ma loves their Grilled Fish and Veggies. Even the Fries are bomb. They get fresh fish every morning so everything is from the sea to your plate! read more

Sorry to say but we were not delighted with our dinner. My shrimp and fries were way too overcooked and dry. The lobster we ordered seemed overcooked as well. For some reason it was on a bed of vegetables that had an odd spice on it which we asked them to take away. We've been there several times in the past, but I think this will be our last time. Since fish is so expensive we had hoped for a better meal. Hate to give a review like this but perhaps they will see if they can improve a little more on the cooking. read more

I love seafood. I cannot live without seafood. I have been searching for a to go place for my seafood crave. I am glad I have found it right here. When I crave for their grilled corvina white seabass, I drive 50 miles from LA to satisfy my crave. This is the best fish I have ever had in my entire life. It's fresh, juicy, tasty and tender. It's literally to die for. Their oyster is also super fresh and tasty. You add their house made mustard sauce on it and you can taste heaven. Their sides are also top notch. Fries are just cooked right. I have been there 4 times in last month. They haven't disappointed me. I am hooked. read more

I used to go to this place when I lived in Ojai and since moving back to L.A. I've missed coming here. Fortunately I do have business in Port Hueneme and I was able to drop by for lunch. This has become one of my favorite go-to places. 1. It's seafood! 2. It's fried! 3. Clam chowder is great!! 4. Marina is right outside! I always get the Captains Combo who has Calamari, Shrimp, fish and fries. Very filling at a very decent price. I'll definitely be coming back!! read more

Found it on the way to a Beach House we rented in Oxnard. It was a small place in a shopping center so I didn't expect much when we arrived. You had to order at a counter and wait for your food to take to your table. With all that, all of us couldn't believe how excellent the food was. We all had different fish meals and each one was as good as the next. So go there and order anything. You will not be disappointed. It was also reasonably priced! read more

A great find in Oxnard! I love seafood and this place serves up some pretty delicious stuff. I love that they offer healthier options like grilled fish, brown rice, and grilled veggies as well as the fried stuff. Can't go wrong with either, depends on what you're in the mood for! Their clam chowder is also very yummy. Portions are pretty generous and the prices aren't that bad. You order at the front upon entering and take a seat with your number where they'll find you when your food is ready. Service is prompt and courteous. I like to seat outside on a nice day and enjoy the weather. The place is situated next to a beautiful harbor where you can enjoy the view. Plenty of parking in the front so that's never an issue. read more

So I could see myself coming often if the communication with the employees were better. So I called a week ago and asked for market price on crab and what time they closed and she gave me a price and a time. So we head over to find out they don't have crab. So we order other food that's good and we decide to go again today. I call they say they have crab and the market price but you much order a minimum of 3lbs. Well that's fine. We go to order and she says no you have to order three whole crabs. Clearly whoever told me on the phone gave me the wrong information again. I really want to love this place. But they make it so challenging. read more

Maybe I expected too much, but I thought the seafood was pretty standard here. The majority of the menu consists of fried foods, which would normally be fine, but I thought the whole premise of this place was "fresh" seafood. Turns out you can only buy crabs by the pound and they'll steam it for you from their live tank (it's actually more like a tub) in the front. They do have some decent specials, especially on weekdays during lunch. We tried their grilled fish plate (similar to the ones you can get at places like California Fish Grill), french fries, battered fish tacos and clam chowder. Everything was pretty standard and quite honestly, I think I've had better tasting food at similar chain restaurants before. The pricing is also a bit higher here than other places because of the tourist factor, since it's so close to the ocean. Probably wouldn't come back or recommend, considering there are better places to eat at in the same plaza! read more

I ordered the halibut and chips, and the breading was not good. The fries were undercooked and not crisp, even the water has a bad taste (time to change the filter. Come here if you like shake and bake chicken. read more

Very disappointing meal. You would think you can find at least decent seafood here. Everything we had, cod and chips, catfish and chips, oysters and chips none of which tasted fresh and the fillets were all very thin therefore dry. The clam chowder is okay, best of everything we had. read more

Actually throughout the whole store the prices are good compared to other grocery stores right now. I had a full bag of items for $50, good luck elsewhere getting those kinds of prices. I didn't have too much of an interaction with the staff while there, but again, lots of people working and keeping this spot in tip top shape. Also the woman working the register who checked me out was very nice. A great supermarket and I'll definitely be back more often now since checking them out.

A large white board was the menu. Lots of options to pick from. However with the variety we ordered the food was just ok with the grilled snapper and fries being the stand outs. The fried fish seemed a bit too oily, the tempura batter too thick on the vegetables and the clam chowder needed more flavor. Given the years in business, I was hoping for more from the food.

Beyond disappointed, angry. Went on August 30th, 2022 just before noon. I ordered a Lobster Roll. The lady taking the order reminded me (she told me the manager directed the order takers to warn customers of the price) that it was market price because it was Maine lobster. I told her I understood that Maine lobster was expensive and completed the order. When I got the order, it looked great. That's where the story turns. Minor problem was that the bread wasn't a hot dog bun or brioche toasted, but an Italian bread untoasted. The big problem was the contents of the sandwich. It is my firm belief that there was not a single piece of lobster on the sandwich. I noticed what looked like a tightly rolled piece of langoustine, then nothing that resembled lobster, smelled like lobster, or tasted like lobster. I do not believe there was any accident here, the sandwich that looked good tasted terrible, was mixed up with a bunch of celery and onions and a sauce on top that hid the flavor of whatever it was they served. A group of us were in town on business and this place came highly recommend by some folks we worked with from the area, so we tried it out and we're not disappointed - all of us had excellent meals! I had the grilled red snapper and it was perfect. The clam chowder was awesome. The Ceviche was incredibly good. Everyone else in the group had similar comments about their fried and grilled seafood. No one left anything on their plate, even though everyone had large pair thin sizes. The seafood is so fresh. Prices are average for the area. Beautiful view of the waterway. I went here for lunch with a colleague, and we got the very freshest fish caught daily by the owners and cooked to order. Both the salmon and the lobster roll were cooked to perfection and brimming with flavor. The portions were very ample, and the pricing were very reasonable, making it a perfect choice for anybody on a budget. As we said at the beginning of our vacation, we were looking for seafood. To be fair if I had written this review yesterday, I might have given it a 2 star. But today we had brunch at (Sea Fresh) and it blew this place out of the water. This place is in a Strip Mall , no decor (it felt real commercial) with no personality whats so ever. Is this place suppose to have fresh seafood? What I tasted was surely not fresh at all. I had ordered the salmon and it was mushy (not a pleasant texture) When I complained to the manager they simply stated that next time I order something different. I was appalled by the lack of customer service and the way I was treated. I will never return!! And you must know... ALL OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL NEVER EAT THERE!!! When I first moved back here in 2014 I ate there everyday hoping I was restoring my strength and recuperating from prolonged illness The owner behind counter pointed to his boat picture on wall that he stated he used to catch all the fish in store. The food is always amazing and cooked to perfection. My husband and I have always been satisfied with the food, and variety of menu for the whole family. Wait times are efficient and depending on time of day it hasn't been to crowded. The only downside is we've had different customer service experiences every time we've gone. My girlfriend and I come to Oxnard quite a bit to visit, this place was suggested to us by Yelp as one of the best restaurants. Food was decent and staff was nice, but it wasn't an amazing overall experience. I got the fried fish and it was decent, overall nice environment and nice customer service but I definitely wouldn't rate d it as the top restaurant in Oxnard. read more

Lots of free parking and in harbor. a moment since I was last here, but so grateful I stopped by for lunch! Enjoyed mahi-mahi, rice and grilled broccoli. Yum! Everything was deliciously prepared. I had never even noticed this place (I used to work nearby and, as it turns out, used to walk by during breaks quite often). Walking in, there is a little hallway that opens up to the dining area. There are a few bars seats and quite a few tables to pick from. I decided to sit IN THE BACK food was great i loved it and will be back!! thanks again read more

I have been purchasing for Fishermen's Catch for over 2 years. They have always provided professional service. They deliver in a prompt time frame. They offer a wide variety of correctional products, at a fair price. Their in-house customer service has been outstanding. I would highly recommend Benjamin Foods. read more

We decided to give this place a second try after our previous visit, but unfortunately the experience was the same. Bartender Fernando was rude and unwelcoming again, which really ruined the atmosphere for us. We hoped things would improve, but after two disappointing visits, we won't be coming back. read more

It all seemed great until our server came to our table. She was almost rude at first like we were putting her out by being there. She had to come back twice to confirm what we had ordered. The food was okay, not the best ever but was worth the cost. Doubt I will be returning anytime soon. read more

All of our food came at different times. Some of us were almost done eating before others got their food. Fish wasn't fresh, super greasy and bland. Won't be back! Also, seating area was very dirty, ketchups were all empty. All while I saw the staff sitting on their phones. read more

It is a real catch, no doubt of it. The food is so good that you can't stop eating. The service is efficient and the staff is very nice and helpful. Crab cakes are delicious and clam chowder is thick and perfect. I highly recommend this place. read more

Was told owners caught these fish. After two years he admitted they were all along serving 'farmed fish'. Used to be good fried fish. Not so much anymore. Fish looks like came from cloning mill and mushy like sickly, farmed fish product. read more

Grab a bite and walk it off near the marina. Good food. Fresh. Sushi too. Grab a tall glass of beer and enjoy. Go inside the door and turn left. Sit at the counter and get some fresh sushi rolls. Great prices. No hype. I am a fan !!! read more

If you like fresh fish this place is for you. I had the red snapper for lunch and it was excellent. Simple and cooked perfectly. Veggie sides were prepared nicely as well. Better fish then most high end seafood restaurants. read more
