Today, I went to another mechanic for a minor issue, and they checked battery and said it is critically low and I should replace right then. I said no thank you - as I always go to Fisher's for any repairs. I called and said I am in the area, can I stop by? Sure enough, they said come on over, took a look (5 min!) and said that my battery has at least another 1-2 years left on it, and no need to replace yet. James gave me the report (all for free btw). And I see that measurements are different although two tests were done within 2 hours of eachother, making the other mechanic's numbers lower! I've spent several thousand of dollars here and I have had to fix everything that they "fixed". They replaced my thermostat housing and did not reconnect the coolant hose and all of my coolant spilled out on the highway and almost caused my car to overheat. Then I got all new rotors, break pads, and sensors. A few weeks later my brake sensor went off again so I took off my wheels and found the sensors weren't secured so they were just dangling in my wheel well and were damaged. They recently replaced my knock sensor and unsurprisingly it's throwing the knock sensor code again. They always got my car in and out quickly but I would rather they spent more time doing the job correctly. read more

I have always taken my car to fixers for repairs since i lived in Kirkland. I still took my car there when i moved out, but i think that was a miscalculation on my part. Last time i took my car to their shop to be repaired, i had to spend more 1000usd (tow fee and "repair" fee) with no repair work done on my car. i don't understand how it's just and legal to make customers pay when no repairs were done. I paid 731usd for nothing. They couldn't even offer any reasonable explanation as to why. The code was P0306, but their mechanic claimed it might have been the cam shaft. That will only make sense if you're naive about car problems. i will never take my car there to be repaired. I still don't understand how anyone would charge you money for not doing what they set out to do. It makes no sense. When i brought it up to people who knows about car issues, they were appalled and suggested other places to take the car for repair. That experience depressed me. smh. They can do that to rich preppy kirlanders, i am not one of them. I'm a poor man who needs a vehicle to work and put food on the table. read more

I've used Kirkland Transmission and Muffler King previously (both great) but never had an opportunity to give Steve my business. My truck was in at Muffler King for a different issue but needed a rough start issue diagnosed. Since I live a bit further away, Steve brought my truck over and what it ended up being was a bad ground to a sensor that another shop had just replaced. My Lexus RX broke down on the freeway and was towed to a neighboring shop. The other shop couldn't look at it for a week!?, but Steve fit me in that day to diagnose the problem and fixed the issue by the next day! At a reasonable price. Over 3 years ago and still going strong. My MDX had a odd battery drain problem that I couldn't figure out - Fisher's found out the key position was causing a 1A drain - adjusted and good! I was ready for a big bill, but it was so simple they didn't charge much. So I did their recommended service, and that actually fixed a pulsing in the revs that I had been having for some time. Also have had standard maintenance done there as well (brakes, oil changes) with no issues. I think the price is fair - it's hard to find a mechanic, so I'm glad to have a place to go that I can trust. read more

This is my first review ever, but I have to do it to feel better about my experience by letting others know... I took my aging, yet stalwart 98 Tahoe in for water leak diagnosis and repair a few years ago and they were friendly and courteous in doing a fine job at a worthy cost. I thought I would go out of my way to give them more business for misc. small electrical diagnosis and repairs... I made the trek from Everett When dropping my old truck off in the morning I was misled into believing that $500 should cover the costs for diagnosis and repair of a rear brake light, climate dash panel lights, intermittent rear windshield wiper operation and a dysfunctional gas gage. I agreed this would suffice. In retrospect I guess I inadvertently gave the shop clearance to charge up to $500 in work. A majority of this cost turned out to be for diagnostics for spendy repair parts I did not know would have been in order and would not have approved of anyway as the truck is only worth $4K. I was under the impression these repairs would be of nominal costs when agreeing to go forth with the diagnostic time. I can't help but feel that I was not appreciated as a customer, but taken for a ride with the $550 bill. While they did get my rear brake light and instrument panel lights working, I feel the over abundance of diagnostic work was in the best interest of the shop and not the customer. As a customer don't settle and go along with the pleasant small talk and courteous smile in the beginning, better to be serious and decipher any mumble jumble. Ask clarifying questions which may be in your best interest or get something in writing which resembles your expectations. read more

I have a BMW; this means repairing it is a nightmare and there are many mechanics that take advantage of that. Fisher's is not one of these shops. I've had some issues with my 325 and I've spent a good 2000 at another shop for them to dink around with it and not fix the issue; come to find out, it was a few issues they never bothered to find, but was no problem for Steve to figure out. I lost my job with COVID, and can't afford to keep spending tons of money at mechanics; I was getting real tired of dealing with the other one and this was a breath of fresh air. He was incredibly fair on the pricing, and I'd suggest anyone with a luxury car visit them because he gives you exactly what you need to have done, and lets you make the informed decisions. So glad the guy at Kirkland Transmission suggested I take it there! read more

Fisher is generally good company and good people. Sadly their technical and knowledge is very poor. they cannot diagnose things properly and they let u something in esstimate and end up in something. this has happened to me multiple times. recently i took my ford for an engine problem, however they screwed up the job and fixed ac and other stuff despite of fixing the engine first and they thought engine is okay which is why i allowed them to fix other. suprise! as other reviews suggest, they ended up tell me engine has issue after they fixed other stuff and price is steep considering all they did was changed spark plug.. they were nice to take off 100$ off the steep ridiculous 800$ loss... its a huge loss for me.. all they can offer is sorry and they mistaken methods of testing. they are probably one of the most low tech workers in the automobile industry since they cannot even do basic testing properly. honestly they should not advertise as they could fix things since they really dont know how to fix it... i really hope no one else gets into my situation thinking they are professional automobile repair , because they are not, they dont have tools or knowledge to test your problems correctly. dont ever try to visit them for repair. they are good in oil change. thats all i can recommend them for... i am sad because i like steve and fisher, but they should not be doing this business. read more

The check engine light on my 2002 Subaru Outback had been on for a while, so I took the car into a couple shops to have it checked out. Two shops quoted me at around $1200 for a new catalytic converter and 3 hours labor. Then, I took the car into Fisher's where Kyle confirmed that I needed the replacement. He quoted me at $950 for parts and labor. He said that 3 hours was ridiculous for a catalytic converter replacement, and that his shop could easily do it in 1.5 hours. Sadly, I still couldn't afford the repair. Fast forward a few months, my engine light is still on, and the emissions test was looming. I knew that I needed to suck it up get the part replaced or lose my registration. I called Fisher's and they were able to book my appointment the very next day. When I brought the car in, Kyle was upfront with me and told me that because the catalytic converter was after-market (and hence the lower price), there was a 20% chance that the thing would punk out within two years. He offered to get the more expensive part from the dealer within thirty minutes if I wasn't comfortable with this. I told him to go ahead with the repair. Here's the kicker! About 45 minutes later, Kyle told me that the did another scan and it turned out that I didn't need a new cat. He couldn't explain it, but apparently no error codes showed up on the scan this time around. He charged me for nothing but the routine inspection. He could have just replaced the part and I'd have been none the wiser. I appreciate the honesty at Fisher's because I'm certain that if I'd have brought the car to one of the original shops, they'd have easily charged me that $1,200. Kyle and Co. saved me over $1000, and I passed the emissions test. Also, I happened to leave my book in the waiting room and Kyle called me to let me know about that, too. I guess I could add the library replacement fee to the money that Fisher's saved me. Needless to say, I highly recommend Fisher's Auto Service. read more

Purchased an old Subaru as a grocery getter. I know it needed tune up and had some issue with the brakes. Ian took me in right before Xmas. Why they been at there location for 30 year and only have 4 reviews? My wife took my car in for a check enigine light. I think I made the mistake on telling Kyle that my wife and I don't know much about cars. So they did there check, got a call later in the day and went in. He (Kyle) said they needed to open up the engine and check the timing belt. Another 100$ on top of the 150$ for the other work. So I said OK go and fine out.Day 2, Sure enough the belt jumped up 2 tooth. Need to replace the timing belt. The night be for I been research and watching clip on YouTube, asking friends. Got a call later that day and he said 1850$ on top of the 250$. WTF!!! So I told him to put it all back together. And he better have it running cause I brought it to him running. read more

Went from disappointed to disgusted. I took my restored 1967 Firebird 400 convertible to Fisher's on the recommendation of a fellow classic car collector. I presented them with a list of 8 or 10 things that I needed to get done, none of which were major mechanical issues. The short version of the very long story is that over the course of appx two months I had to take my car back to them multiple times to attempt to get them to fix things that they messed-up the first time. Making the whole process more painful is that their rates are outrageously high. Examples of things that they failed to fix properly despite multiple attempts: 1) They replaced the old 1960s-era headlights with halogen lights. However, despite multiple requests from me they never aimed the new lights after they installed them. The lights were pointed all over the place. 2) They replaced a defective dash-mounted windshield wiper switch. When I got the car back the switch wasn't tightened down and was flopping around in the dash. Additionally, the word "Wiper" should have been in the 12-o'clock position, but was in the 4-o'clock position so you had to tilt your head 45 degrees to read it. 3) The turn signals didn't cancel properly. They worked on this problem at least six different times. Each time I got the car back they were just as messed-up as they were in the beginning. The excuse I kept getting was that the car "had an aftermarket steering wheel". I finally gave-up on this one. However, yesterday I was having some electrical work done on the car at a different shop so I asked the tech to take a look at my turn signal problem. When he took-off the steering wheel we found that Fisher's had attempted to "fix" a small plastic bushing that had broken in half by wrapping it in blue painters tape and putting it back in place! Additionally, they stuffed small pieces of braided electrical wire into a screw hole in an attempt to get a screw that was too short to reach the threads inside the hole something to grab on to. Unbelievable! I wouldn't expect this kind of unprofessional-ism out of a high school auto mechanic class. 4) I requested that they fix several inoperative dash lights. One of the inoperative lights needed a socket replaced. They didn't bother to fix this at all. 5) The brake lights would often times stay on even though the brake pedal had been released. They worked on this at least a half dozen times and never fixed it. 6) The accelerator pedal would occasionally stick and be difficult to depress. Again, they worked on this at least a half dozen times and never fixed it. I was finally able to diagnose the problem myself and ordered the $10.00 part to fix it myself (I'm not a mechanic). Every time I picked-up the car and had a complaint about the work I was told "it worked after we fixed it". There's more, but this makes my point. Save your time, money, and frustration and find another shop. I've posted my frustrations on other forums, but have never heard a word from Fisher's. read more

I just walked out of this place. I'm pretty appalled. After 4 hrs of diagnosis, they came back with a price of $560. Immediately called a neighboring auto shop and they estimated at $300 lower for the EXACT SAME work. Additionally, the front desk man Bruce tried to pile on extra, completely unnecessary fixes. I have used Fisher's for about 15 years through four cars (one Euro, 3 Japanese). The service is great and almost every bill has come out slightly under their estimate. They were honest with me when I brought them a car they were familiar with and told me they had never work on that particular model. Another time they told me they were unsure of a what was causing a problem-explained the two possibilities, one very cheap and one expensive and recommended starting with the cheap fix. They could have steered me to the more expensive option easily (the cheap fix did it). They are more expensive than other local shops (that's why this is 4 instead of 5), but so far it has been worth it for us. read more
