My car has literally never been the same after these guys 'fixed' it. In September 2024 I decided to preventatively replace the front lower control arms on my Land Rover. On the way home, the steering wheel suddenly was no longer centered when driving straight and the car was consistently pulling to one side. Great. So, I called these guys and the rude guy at the front desk made an appointment for me to bring it in again for wheel alignment (which they subcontracted out after replacing the lower control arms). He told me that they found loose bolts. Great! Loose suspension bolts - what could possibly go wrong? So, they tightened the bolts and apparently reset the alignment. The same thing happened on the way home from repair attempt number two. So, I called them up and the rude guy was really annoyed this time - but made an appointment for repair attempt number 3. This time, he told me that the rest of the suspension was completely worn out and that was the reason for the current issue - car pulling consistently to the right with vague steering. Note that the car had been performing perfectly before they replaced the lower control arms preventatively. At this point I had completely lost faith in these guys and took my car to another shop for wheel alignment and replacement of all the other suspension components. The shop told me that the parts they replaced were in fine condition. To this point, the wheel alignment has been checked by two shops, and the car still exhibits the same problems. I can only assume that they used substandard components or/and made an error during installation. Take heed folks - you too might suffer this fate if you have your car repaired at Eastside European! They take no responsibility whatsoever for their work. At this point, I probably need to replace the lower control arms myself to hopefully undo the damage they caused. Does not appear to be OEM parts which I was charged for. read more

There's a lot to be said for this company. At first glance they're good, but it's not until you really look deep at their business- that's where you'll find the lack of customer service and support. It's appalling that a company like this will not stand behind the "quality work" they supposedly do. I do not or will not recommend this place to anyone. Found this shop on yelp after a very expensive quote from a dealer. They did the repair much cheaper than the dealership still with high quality. One bonus item they did: my wife's wedding ring slipped into the dashboard. The dealer quoted min 3 hours of labor. Shane did a quick diagnostic and he found it immediately. He didn't charge us for it. He demonstrated how much of a standup person he is and the operation he runs. He could've said it took much longer and charged us more... but he didn't. He realized that the previous mechanic's recommendation for the brakes was wrong. I've brought my Mercedes here for the past 2 years. They have better availability than the local dealerships (Bellevue and Seattle) with loaner cars available. I appreciate getting an emailed itemized list when there are any major repairs, I always lose the printed ones from the dealership. They're able to take care of most issues, although they don't do tires. They will make recommendations, however, and these can be easily obtained at another tire shop. read more

I generally bring my Panamera here for non-warranty/service bulletin/recall work. Shane and crew have always quickly diagnosed and fixed whatever problem has arisen at a rate cheaper than the dealer. Also they have loaners available to use unlike Bellevue Porsche under Autonation which just ubers you around. The first time I heard squeaks going over bumps and within an hour or two they identified the issue as worn out sway bar bushings. Haven't had an issue since getting them replaced. The second time my air strut started leaking (second time this has happend to me, but I knew it was coming for sometime) and they worked with me to replace it with a remanufactured part to save some cash. They also identified a transmission pan leak, which also screwed up my transmission mount and they fixed that too, which alleviated a slight idle vibration that I've had. Make no mistake this wasn't a cheap repair, but my next maintenance included transmission pan replacement and strut replacement anyways so it wasn't unexpected. read more

The guy at the front was rude, and made comments about how we are "stupid" for buying a Volvo, and try to sell us on more repair. He even did our lights without asking and saying that they are allow to do repair if it is less than 10% of the service... When we were done, we told them we are heading to Olympic national parks, he didn't warn us about our water pump should be fixed before the trip and just let us go, and we our car end up smoking around port angelas and had to fix it. And our water pump was not looking good. Very disappointed at this place, why can't you just be an honest mechanic? read more

When you have a local shop you can trust and does quality work, it's upsetting when they start getting rude because they're having a bad day. Sent them a message regarding front brakes and rotors, told light on, and a request for a separate dsg service for later. After not hearing back, I called to follow up. The phone call ended with the owner blowing me off and saying he "needed to move on" this is because he refused to read about my cars issues and got frustrated with all the things I was bringing up and that all his questions would have been answered by reading about my car. But he said he wouldn't read, he would make me call and relay everything directly over the phone. This is inefficient and would cause missing info and other problems along the way. Would you go to a rude shop that does good work and is reliable? Or drive further and find another quality shop to use in place of the rude shop so you don't have to deal with it? Hm please read my message and let me know if I would be considered an annoying customer or if this info would have helped before calling and scheduling the appointment. Please note that this is how we normally communicate and I'm told to follow up with a call once they've read it over. Making the scheduling and planning much easier. But hey, I'm open to possibly being in the wrong. I was really confused why they would give all these social media options for contact, but have the owner say "you have to call and tell me directly" this wouldn't be a problem, but I'm mentally disabled so writing things out ahead of time and sending it after proofing and having someone else double check helps not only me, but them as well. Otherwise they are going to cause me to have a panic attack etc. I also wouldn't be able to remember the written list of things, causes, symptoms, and all that of my car. I thought I gave them a pretty basic description of what had been going on and left room for additional questions to be asked when they called back. I had a brake problem with my Audi. It vibrates when I brake, especially on high speed. I called Eastside European (refers as E&E below) to ask for help. After I explain the problem, Shane immediately acknowledge this is a brake Rotor problem and that needs to be replaced. That matches with the dealers' diagnostic findings. I then ask for the option of doing brake rotor resurfacing. Shane explains that European car are considered performance car and does not recommend doing any rotor resurface, but instead replacing rotor (this matches with what I heard from other shops/dealer). Shane then gives me a quote for getting it replaced and a reasonable turnaround time with a loan car. Among all the other shops that I called, E&E seems to hit a sweet pot with both quote and turn around time. So I sent it in, and got the car back the next day. I even got a loan car for me to drive home. It is a very smooth experience. At the time of checking out, Shane told me the finding of a rust brake rotor and explained to me to rinse the wheel after a winter trip to ski resort to avoid this to happen again. That tips is great! I am very happy with the repair and also asks him to order some missing parts for my Audi roof rack. Here are some of the good: 1. E&E has a good quote compared with many other shops (I did call a few other shops to get their quote/turnaround time) 2. E&E has a shortest turn-around time 3. I called up Eastside European (since I got a glowing review from my friend) and asked him to give me a quote for some maintenance I need done. Like all the other reviews said, Shane is incredibly rude and dismissive on the phone; you can barely get a word in since he will just interrupt you constantly. He told me he would call me back in 5 minutes but after 4 days I hadn't heard back so I decided to call. Again, he was rude and interrupted me saying that he got busy. No sorry or anything, just excuses. He did call me back in 30 minutes this time, but only to start talking trash on VW and how they recommend services you don't need since dealerships are losing money. While we were talking, I mentioned that I can take care of things like windshield wipers, cabin air filters, and engine air filters. He then stopped me and told me he probably wouldn't take me on as a customer since now I'm doing my own repairs on my car, almost suggesting that once you start replacing air filters, pretty soon you're going to be doing oil changes and replacing spark plugs. I explained that I didn't want to get my hands dirty, but air filters are very simple and that I just always do those myself. He then gave me insight into his scummy business practices saying that one of the ways he makes money is by charging $79 for "premium" air filters and that it doesn't make sense to take me on as a customer if he can't squeeze every dollar out of me. This just made me laugh inside since the phone call started out with him telling me how VW rips their customers off, and now he's telling me how he rips his customers off! I'll never go to eastside auto and would never recommend anyone go there either. read more

I am extremely happy that I found Eastside European. I needed a solid independent shop to maintain my 2010 328i xDrive close to home, and they fit the bill. Shane is a straight shooter...knowledgeable and manages his shop well. He will help get you a nice loaner car (newer Jetta) if he can. I have had my car there twice and each time he has been able to accommodate. Their prices are what you should expect for maintaining European cars. If you get a estimate for half the price (as I have seen some other commenters say), and you think somehow that is better, then by all means go for it...but you know how it goes...you get what you pay for. I am going to have my girlfriend bring her 2005 Volvo in for timing belt and water pump next. Shane gave me an estimate for this over the phone without having to look it up on the computer (he knows his sh@#t). Took my car in for routine service oil and spark plugs and the slime balls tried to push for brake service with the following line: "looks like your brake fluid reservoir was left uncapped at your last service so we are worried that you might have absorbed some moisture and we recommend a brake fluid flush every 2 years" So apparently I've been riding around for months with an uncapped brake fluid reservoir with the sensor not firing and some how my brakes still work perfectly fine and I spilled no brake fluid anywhere... yeah, right. Auto shops fall in two camps: 1) build a solid reputation and keep folks happy and coming back. 2) try to screw people with unnecessary work and hope they don't know better. Unfortunately, these guys fall in the latter. read more

You get what you pay for, and in this case, great service for pampered European vehicles. I have used them for over a year now since my warranty expired and moved to the Eastside, for routine maintenance including oil changes, tune ups, brake pad/rotor replacements. Shane the owner is very honest and takes the time to explain his work and what work needs to be done and what can wait based on budget as well. It's not cheap, but hey, good technical skill and knowledge and parts on expensive European cars come with the territory or ownership! Took my car for an oil change recently (Mini Cooper S) and when I returned home suddenly lost power, called the owner and was told to turn around and come back and they would look at it immediately. No sooner had I driven back there was the owner and two techs already waiting for me at the front door and jumped on the car to perform diagnostics, identify the problem as a cracked spark plug and replaced it free of charge! The owner even gave me his mobile number in case of any problems overnight, now that is great service! Will have me as a loyal customer as long as I live and work in the Eastside. Recently changed my vehicle to a different European brand and continue to take it to Eastside European for all service work. The service is excellent, work is completed on time or ahead of schedule and the staff are very professional. I even receive a quick courtesy call if something else major is found to be wrong that needs to be done. Contrary to what others may say, they do know BMW's. I am very familiar with various models spanning from the late 1970's to current models, when I have had problems, their diagnosis is the same as mine and repairs are handled promptly. I've been to this auto place twice now, and both were extremely positive experiences. The waiting room is clean and comfortable, with two large leather couches in case you need to wait a long time. Coffee, candy and hot chocolate is freely available. The man who always seems to be at the counter (Shane) has always greeted me with a wonderful calm demeanor. The first time I went in was because my Mercedes could not shift out of park. Later, i moved out of the area to Edmonds, and i tried to find a German auto place locally to perform my Service B...but the prices were exorbitant. Eastside Auto quoted me about $75 for both my Service B as well as $60 for a window problem. When I got my service B done, Shane even took the time to vacuum my car which was well above and beyond the service required. The time it took was about 2 hours shorter than expected. 100% dismissive and rude to me (female wife), yet super kind to my husband regarding the same issue at a different time: My husband called to check about getting our Porsche in for an oil change and rotors inspection. He was kindly told to "bring it in anytime." I (wife) called back when we were planning to bring it in, inquiring about the service loaner. The man I spoke to was short in tone, saying their nearest availability was in a week, and that since we live in Seattle a service loaner would not be available. I said, "Ok, no problem, we have other cars, we don't need a loaner." The guy went on to dissuade me further, quickly stating, "There's no Porsche mechanics in Seattle?" Then continued to tell me all the complex reasons the service loaners are only for eastside residence, which I already stated was not an issue. Seems like they were ready to do business with my husband at any time regarding the same car and needs, but were not interested in doing business with me. I wonder why. read more

He is the only mechanic who I will take my Jaguar to. He is extremely knowledgable and educates you on what the problem is and the possible solutions.
