Nice looking place as it has always been. That being said I have eaten there for 40 years, and boy has it hit bottom. They were not crowded and were empty tables as well. It was over 30 minutes for 1 sandwich and one burger. They were (if there could be such a thing) greasy bland each. The burger was served cold. The fries were in varying stages of fried as if the (surely ) placed back in the fryer to reheat their sogginess. The one thing we hated most of all is that its was just 72 degrees outside, but inside it was 60 degrees with all the fans blowing. I got sent to the car for jackets. I'll blame all of this incompetence on the owner who most obviously not there leaving the operation to some stupid person calling themself a business manager. Never going back. You can only rely on a past reputation for so long as the patrons catch on. read more

(3.5 stars) Fisher's is your classic neighborhood sports bar and a fairly good representation thereof. The menu is the expected mix of apps, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. However, the burgers can be had with nearly a dozen topping combinations and run a very reasonable $7.50 with a side included. A Cajun burger (provolone, mayo, onions, and peppers) and accompanying Cajun fries were both flavorful, well-seasoned, and served hot. A fried pickle starter was tasty but didn't hold its batter. My wife and I made the mistake of visiting toward the end of a Sip and Stroll event, so the establishment was absolutely slammed. This made for a loud meal in close confines, but that isn't the norm. Even under these circumstances, the bartenders (it's counter service only here) were fast, patient, and amicable. Fisher's is no threat to Greensboro's upper burger echelon, but it's still a reliable spot to grab a satisfying bite to eat. read more

Great food i go a few times a month, last occasion i went on a thursday at like 3 p m and it was packed. Small space so can be a lil loud when packed. We gave it another chance, and we were able to place an order, but after an hour of waiting, the waitress misplaced our order so we never got our food. It was around 3:30 on a Monday and the restaurant was slow. It's on the smaller side, but was very nostalgic feeling. There are sports memorabilia/decor on almost every inch of the wall. We were greeted by Sarah upon entering and told to check the menu out (on the wall) and order at the counter/bar when ready. We sat ourselves at a booth after ordering, which was wooden with a low table. The onion ring appetizers came out in like 5 minutes and came with ranch and a horseradish sauce that was frikkin bomb.com. They are a bit oily, but I mean I personally didn't expect to eat healthy when I walked in. The food only took about 10 minutes! My fish filet sandwich was good and my fiancé enjoyed his Cajun chicken sandwich - both came with a side (we chose Cajun fries). I think the single best thing that sold me was the service we received from Sarah. My fiancé kept saying how he wants to become a regular at Fishers Grille - oh let me not forget to mention Sarah said dogs are their favorite customers and are always allowed on the patio! It was so good the first time, I came back for a second time this week. This visit I chose the Santa Fe burger which was amazing! The burger was topped with peppers, salsa, and cheddar cheese. The peppers were a perfect combo of spice and flavor. Again, very pleased with the freshness of the bun, as well as perfectly fried onion rings that were recommended on my last visit. This was my first time eating here...the food is reasonably priced with nice portions and fast service. My philly had REAL STEAK and the bread was so soft! Their ranch is delicious, not sure if it's house made or not though. The tea tastes very homemade and not some mix out a jar which I love. They do let you sample a draft before committing which I think I awesome. I do wish they had some kid friendly options, but are still worth the multiple stops to feed the whole family. I love this place. I've been going for years, but last time everything was different. I suspect new owners or management at least. A big clue was that they no longer have the Dirty Dave's hot sauces. I ordered a southwest burger on Texas toast! OMGGGGGGGG!!!! First off I've been wanting to try this spot for a long time! I go to corner slice often best pizza in town! But fishers grille is right next door and I decided to try it last night! My burger was A1 I loved how the bacon was chopped in bites and not as slices the cheese melted well (I usually don't eat cheese on my burger only if it's Swiss or provolone) toast was great. This local bar has been around for a long time and always seems to have a loyal following. Stopped in on Saturday for some lunch with a friend and the place was full of college football fans. It's not a big place but they have done a good job of maximizing their space with multiple TVs above the bar. Lots of drink options. It's all counter service, so there are big chalkboard menus on the wall to help you decide what you want. It's standard bar options with appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, and a few salads. My friend got the Turkey and Havarti sandwich and said it hit the spot. It had lettuce, tomato and herb mayo. She was not impressed however with the pasta salad side, said it was too much mayonnaise. I got the California burger, but switched it to chicken. It came with cheddar, guacamole, lettuce and tomato. It was cooked well, but I found the sandwich kind of plain. I felt it was screaming for a sauce. Maybe it would of been better as a burger. I selected onion rings as my side and they were delicious. Good amount of breading but not too much. We had lunch here recently and things just weren't quite as good as I had remembered from previous visits. The guy behind the bar who took our order was anything but engaging, totally robotic. We ordered a Carolina Cheeseburger with Hot Chips, and a Fried Bologna Sandwich with Pasta Salad. The time out of the kitchen was right at 30 minutes, more than a little slow. The burger which we have always enjoyed here was bland and smothered by the size of the bun, would not reorder. The Hot Chips with Ranch Dressing were excellent. The Fried Bologna Sandwich was very, very good - the thick slice was fried nicely, would definitely order again. The Pasta Salad was perfect, well cooked pasta in a creamy Italian Dressing with a bit of shredded carrot. This was a kind of a disappointing experience when measured against previous visits here, and probably not trying them again, too many other choices that do an all around better job! read more

I must have driven by Fisher's Grille 1,000 times in the almost three years I've lived in Greensboro thinking this small restaurant must be where fancy ladies from Fisher Park power walk to meet other fancy ladies for dainty salads and mineral water. Appetizers, burgers, hot dogs and even salads, freshly prepared to order. Top it off with a slice of Alex's cheesecake. For me, though, the real treat is the decor. The walls are covered with Detroit sports memorabilia. Photos, jerseys, neon signs, pennants and posters. Tigers, Lions, Red Wings and Spartans as far as the eye can see. There are a few nods to local teams and other miscellaneous teams, but make no mistake... This place feels like home for a nostalgic expat Detroiter. Bottom line. Used to really like this place. Not sure if something changed in management or if I just keep ordering on off-days, but the last few times have been disappointing. Last two times, I've ordered a BBQ sandwich on Texas toast with cheddar for pickup, per a recommendation I saw on here and one I got personally. Both times, it came on a bun with no cheddar. The first time I just let it go because whatever, mix-ups happen and it was a special request. Second time, I also got a different side than I ordered (ordered veggie sticks with ranch, got unseasoned french fries without even a pack of ketchup), so I called them and asked if I could come by and get a replacement. Guy on the phone seemed pissed that I cared, but said I could if I brought back the original tray. Also made me repeat my entire order? I get there and very politely tell him I was there for the replacement tray, and I apologize for the inconvenience. Maybe he was in a bad mood for other reasons, but I felt like he was unreasonably unwelcoming to me for just wanting what I ordered. I wasn't greeted and once he found out I was there for the replacement he was very short with me. He was also not wearing a mask, mind you. Got my tray a few minutes after I got there. This part is honestly so hilarious I'm not upset about it. Instead of getting cheddar on my sandwich, I got a Kraft single sitting on a napkin to the side of it.
