All fitness levels and body types there to get a great workout.

What a disorganized company. Their website/app is very difficult to understand and the swim coaches…read moreadmit to it being hard to use. If they decide to reschedule any or all of your appointments, the management isn't good about entering them into the system. We were told we missed an appointment, when clearly the error was with the website/app not being changed properly. The swim coach texted me prior to our lesson, to say we missed our appointment and that she didn't have to squeeze us in somewhere else. She stated she has "things after work". My 5 year old was so upset because she wanted to swim and we were driving there to be there on time. At this point I'm done with this company. We will find a better program. Now let's discuss the actual lessons. This is not for kids who are comfortable in the water and need lessons to teach strokes. These coaches, spend lots of time having the kids blow bubbles in the water, go under water and other very basic things. I witnessed other lessons going on and there wasn't much actual swim instruction going on. My child had been learning freestyle in another program, prior to our move to this area, and this coach had to be told multiple times that my child needs help learning to breath on her side and kicking while doing the arms. We had one lesson where the coach didn't even get in the pool with my child. Instead she made her exit the pool and lay on the pool chairs so she could show her how to kick. The lesson program we came from (in Kentucky) was very organized and had lists that each level was working on. They had a program that each coach followed and you could see the kids advancing. Worden Aquatics did not have anything organized about these lessons. For $55 a lesson, I expected a lot more. I expected our lessons to not be moved around so much. I expected the coach to teach at the level my child needs. I also expected management to communicate properly with clients and actually book the lessons they say they will book. Instead you end up paying for lessons where the child isn't advancing in their skills or they botch the lesson time and refuse to reschedule or refund.

Don't get me wrong, the Bootcamp is HARD and it makes you sweat and hurt in places that you didn't know existed - but, it's worth it! The gym is split into the bootcamp area and crossfit. Everyone is really supportive and encouraging so that you can do your best. The bootcamp uses heart rate monitors so if your mind gets tired before your body, and you wuss out, you'll know why. I love using the heart rate monitors. It allows me to push myself more. The workouts are all different and never boring. The classes aren't that crowded; usually averages around 5-6 people per class so you get personalized attention and motivation. Everything is straightforward --- go sign up NOW!

More importantly though, they have good people there. The coaches and other athletes immediately make you feel welcome and comfortable. You can tell they have a great community built up there. James (owner/coach) helped me scale part of the WOD that day. He even stuck around after class to coach me on rope climbs, since we didn't have those at my regular Box. This is the perfect place to drop in. I'll definitely be back anytime I'm in town.

I picked this box even though there were…read morecloser CrossFit facilities to me where I was staying while on vacation because of their well organized website. Check it out! Owner Preston has a nice sized facility which seemed could get dicey if more than 15 show up for a WOD. However, this makes for some intense "competition" with your neighbor right next to you. Preston said it depends on a bunch of factors as to the number that show up, but Mondays are usually heavier than Fridays! They have all the equipment you need for everyone to do prescribed weights at the same time if necessary, and post records on the wall for all to see. Good goals to aspire to! Walk-ins pay $15 or buy a shirt (which I did) for $20. And you sign a waiver, of course. Warm-ups were well presented by Preston along with his demos of the lifts (front squat this time) and tips for not getting hurt. We did a partner exercise which was nice beforehand and I've not seen that kind of warm-up before. He was watching everyone during the WOD (Workout of the Day for you non-CrossFitters!) for proper range of motion and form which I liked a lot. I only have one complaint. While Preston and one other member (trainer?) welcomed me openly, I felt like the outsider here. I got a "good job" from one female member after the WOD, but that's it. I know we're here to get a workout in and yes I was the new guy. I know you tend to hang with those you get along with, but I would have liked some more to welcome me or at least acknowledge "hey new guy." At my gym, if you don't introduce yourself to the new person (or someone you just don't recognize) and are called out on it it's a 50 burpee penalty! There may be that ulterior motive for saying Hi and being friendly, but possible or new members like to feel welcome! Just a small detail, but the main part is getting the workout in and doing your best which I did. I therefore had to make my own introductions afterward, and was able to get some nice restaurant recommendations. Those that I spoke to were very friendly. Thanks for the recommendations...they were spot on! Thank you, Preston, for running a great CrossFit, and I wish you a lot of continued success with the business! I had the honor of briefly re-joining Real Change CrossFit while in town for the month after not…read moreworking out for 5 years. I randomly dropped in and was immediately greeted by the coach who offered to let me join the class that was just starting. Needless to say, I started the next day and will be back to drop in every time I'm back in town. Real Change and real relationships. Real Change CrossFit truly holds to heart the definition of their name. It is a strong community/gym that also holds multiple variations of the word strong - physically, mentally, emotionally & relationally. They offer true change on all levels by providing challenging WODs that push you as an advanced athlete while also offering varying options for people of all different levels. I had the privilege of working out next to some top, competitive athletes. Despite the friendly competition, they also were attentive, encouraging & overwhelmingly supportive even when I couldn't finish WODs, lift heavy, or do the more advanced movements as a beginner. The coaches are knowledgeable in supporting both amateurs like myself and those athletes training to compete. It's a cozy spot but has plenty of great equipment so you don't have to share if you don't want to. I coincidentally joined during the 2023 Open and had the opportunity to come in for Friday Night Lights and met many other members from different class times. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming inviting, and everyone was cheering on each athlete to be their best. There are plenty of gyms you can find to go get physically stronger but this box offers the opportunity to get stronger body, mind and spirit. You really could feel the strength of their community and family atmosphere. I was so very sad to leave but I know when I'm back to visit I'll be welcomed back with open arms. Thank you Real Change family for being such a special jumpstart back into my journey of CF. If you're even curious about joining or trying it out - DO IT!! Great coaching! First time ever doing CrossFit and the coaches and members are welcoming and…read morepatient and super instructional. Every morning I go (5am classes) I'm met with a handful of happy and helpful friends who have helped me experience a real difference. Body changes, mind changes, sleep changes, total change. I would recommend this gym to any person at any stage of their health journey.
