The best! A hot spot for me and the kids. The food is alright, but you come here for the drinks! Parking can be located around the block, wait times can be long. We typically get there right when they open to beat the crowds

I got picked up by my travel sidekick at the St Louis Airport after an early morning flight from Austin. We hit a couple of iconic locations for photo opportunities. Ted Drewes Frozen Custard wasn't open yet so we moved on down to Fitz's. While not technically on Route 66, it was a great start to our epic trip. Frosty mugs of their sodas and great comfort food kicked this trip off in a big way. Our server, Gezelle, was great. She met our energy and made our stop memorable. The atmosphere was nostalgic and the bottling facility at the back of the restaurant just added to the fun. Anytime I come back to St. Louis, this is a must!

It's been years since I've been to Fitz so we decided to give it a try again. We made reservations and when we arrived (albeit 4 minutes late) we were about to be immediately taken to the table but then the other hostess told the one with our menus to wait. We sat for quite a while, at least 10 minutes plus and asked if we could sit at the empty booth nearby. The hostess said yes, we're saving it for you. We were thinking it needed to be cleaned or something but it never was. Others came in and were seated and we asked again and then finally were seated at the booth so I'm not sure what was up with that. They were notably crowded and our server Thomas came over to get us started. He was very busy but kudos to him for being attentive, making sure we had everything and having a great attitude. The food came out quickly and I ordered the Sunshine burger and it was fresh and pretty good (just needed a little more salt) and the fries were very good. The strawberry shortcake float I subbed with Rootbeer and it was just too much for one person so I packed my ice cream to go. Unfortunately they didn't have a kid size. That ice cream was REALLY good and the shirt ready cookie in it was delicious. 3 meals and 3 floats cost $92...yikes, but we enjoyed our meal and the lovely atmosphere.

My partner and I wanted to try their Valentine's Day special so we cancelled reservations to another restaurant for this experience. I will say 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, a float, 2 bottomless sodas, and two bottled sodas for $60 is a good deal. However the entree left a lot to be desired. The green beans were bland and some of them were cold while oddly others were warm. The steak was supposed to be a NY strip, I'm not a meat cut connoisseur but I don't think that was actually the cut of meat. The steak came out pre cut and had some pieces that were well done and some medium, with again a lack of flavor (I rarely like to salt my food but I heavily relied on salt and pepper for this meal. The service was attentive even thought it was busy while the ambiance was lively. Would go back to Fitz's again but not for this specific special... t ravs were delicious!

Old fashioned soda shop, where they bottle their own soda. They have an antique bottling machine in the rear, with glass windows to watch. They have so many options and flavors, besides the classics. There is also a wide food menu. Building is two floors and used to be an old bank. There is merchandise for purchase at the entrance, and outdoor patio seating. Our waiter was friendly and patient with our large group.

Another good experience. This time I told them I would be dining in and I was given a glass mug rather than a to-go mug. Communication is key. This time I ordered a Superman float... or is it called Man of Steel? Whatever it is called, I think it was strawberry ice cream, blue raspberry soda, whipped cream, and a red fruit rollup. It's been years since I had a fruit roll up. I recommend this float. Minus one star because it took longer than expected not only to order, but to have the order taken. The employees were occupied working, but I also felt like I was not seen for a few minutes.

I've been to the south county location many times, but this was my first time at Delmar. We stopped in for floats, our server was very kind (absolutely a 5 star server- I truly wish I could remember her name.. she had blonde hair and I feel it started with a J or G). The restaurant itself though was very sticky - the floors, the table, the menu, it just didn't feel super clean. The gooey looey was FANTASTIC. My favorite float that I've ever had.

We love Fitzs! It's a STAPLE for when you want great food with big portions, a sweet treat or visiting St Louis. Our waitress was awesome and accommodating to my almost three year old son. I LOVE the turkey wrap and there's a ton of options for kids (even picky eaters). At this location they also have a bottling plant inside which is cool to watch!

My daughter and I were shopping. We wanted go there since we were hungry. We sit outside patio. Nice patio. My daughter ordered hummus platter. She said it was very good. I had falafel burger with onion rings. They were very good. I had ginger beer and she had berry pop. Thank you for delicious food and hospitality

The ambiance gave nostalgic. I walked in and it was huge. The place is 2 story so i ate on the second floor. The workers were great! They were attentive and kept checking up on me. My food was delicious and filling. I got the chili dog.

The ice cream floats are what makes the spot shine! We came here for a birthday celebration and it was a good spot for the day! The food is good, but like I said, the floats are what keep us coming back. I have been coming to this spot with my family regularly for over ten years and I don't anticipate it stopping anytime soon. A nice casual spot to sit, chat, and enjoy the loop.

A bottling co.for me a great place for family to come in,dine and watch how soda are capped. The hardworking staff are friendly, greeted as when we walked in,not everyday we walked into an assembly of different flavored soda and watched how they go to a machine and how fast it get capped is amazing.Very thankful to the gentleman at the assembly line gave as a sample of free freshly capped soda.It was really good and refreshing.Of course we have to try the rootbeer float.Four scoops of delish ice cream on a cold best tasting rootbeer is a mind blowing fizzy pop.

Beautiful, delicious and fun root beer floats!

The mixed olives and cannellini dip appetizers weren't the star of the show but enjoyed the beef carpaccio appetizer more. Our table ordered a Mushroom + Truffle pizza with duck egg on it which was unique. Our entrees were probably the best: Lemon Ricotta Ravioli and Ricotta Gnocchi. We'd go back for the vibe and maybe just drinks or during happy hour but will skip having an entire dinner here.

That's the vibe. We started on the front patio on a Friday night and quickly realized we'd made a mistake. The doors to the interior were open and the music -- a rock-forward playlist that night -- was loud enough that we considered bailing. Our server, was unbothered when we asked to move up to the rooftop. Where we met with a new bartender and server, London, who rolled with it, got us resettled, and from that point on the night was great. London was clearly handling the bar and most of the rooftop tables, but she was attentive throughout, and made eye contact, which seems a near miracle from many 20-something these days. Bumping the score up just for the flexibility on the table move alone. The food: crab cakes were genuinely good, not life-changing, but well above the weak-crab-cake bar that exists in most of the world, served simply with capers and a small salad. I went off-script and ordered the wagyu burger medium rare with fontina (London mentioned cheddar is the more common pick, but the Fontina offerd a great alternative). The burger was deeply flavorful and cooked exactly right, but here's my one real note for the kitchen: toast the brioche bun. Wagyu medium-rare puts out a lot of juice, and an untoasted bun loses its structural integrity about three bites in. A quick toast would let the bun keep some additional integrate and keep up with the perfectly cooked beef. The pom buff were great, the best elevated patato tots you may come by. Beyond what we ordered, the Greek salad is a longtime go-to -- chopped, with grape leaves and pita, available in a small or large, and easily dressed up into a light meal with or without adding some protein or can be share as a self-dress bruschetta appetizer for the group if you ask for extra bread. The cheese boards are also a reliable pick. The wine list is extensive (it's a wine bar, after all), but they don't sniff at cocktails -- I had a solid fine old fashioned, and my wife shared had a Malbec that paired well with everything. Lots of gluten-free options across the menu, too. What Sasha's gets right is that it has refused to become precious. "Wine bar" reads as pretentious to some people, but this place runs as a neighborhood spot. You'll see college kids dressed way down, couples on dates dressed way up, Hawaiian shirts, oversized sweaters, the full range. It's the kind of place where you can split a bottle with your girlfriends, meet a date for drinks and a quick bite without committing to a full dinner, or roll in for brunch on the weekend. Different times of day, different vibes -- always approachable. 4.7 stars. Loses a few tenths for the front-patio music situation and the weak burger bun, but more than makes up for it on flexibility, food, and overall hang factor.

There were a few open tables, but we were asked to wait by the door while they "got situated." Meanwhile, a walk-in who arrived after us was seated at a table we had been waiting for. When we were finally seated, we were placed in direct sun. I asked if we could move to a shaded table in the corner and was told it was only for parties of three. After explaining we'd just be there briefly for a drink, we were allowed to sit there, but the interaction felt dismissive. From that point on, the experience felt rushed. We were pushed to order quickly, our menus were taken right away, and the check came almost immediately. It made what should have been a relaxed stop feel uncomfortable and transactional. I understand how busy restaurants can get, especially on nice days, but a little more consideration and courtesy would have gone a long way.

Ambiance (4/5): The restaurant has a intimate atmosphere for a special occasion. Street parking, however, was a bit challenging. Food (3/5): Given all the praise--including being recognized by the New York Times--our expectations were high, but the meal didn't quite live up to the hype. - Snacks (2.5/5): A bit underwhelming and not particularly memorable. - Venison Tartare (5/5): The standout dish of the evening. Beautifully balanced, flavorful, and easily our favorite course. - Trout (4/5): Perfectly cooked, though the vegetable pairing didn't complement the fish as well as it could have. - Pork (3/5): Decent, but it lacked the textural contrast we were expecting, and the pork belly was slightly too salty. - Desserts (4/5): We tried the almond cake and the cheese course. Both were enjoyable, though we preferred the cheese. - Gooey Butter Cake (5/5): Absolutely phenomenal and a wonderful way to end the meal. Service (4/5): The staff was attentive and clearly aimed to provide a high-end dining experience. However, there were a few small missteps. Most notably, our bill was presented before we had finished our final course, which felt out of place for a fine dining restaurant. Overall, Robin has several excellent dishes, particularly the venison tartare and gooey butter cake, but the overall experience didn't quite meet the expectations set by its reputation.
