I got an original design art piece along with other artwork and a beautiful glass vase from Poland (thick glass) among other things. When I learned he ships anywhere, I was able to get a large square glass dining table that my daughter- in- love fell in love for them (house warming gift) -- it will be shipped up north. Austin has a wealth of design knowledge he willingly shares. He is personable and also helped us fit everything in our van creatively. We couldn't have done it without him! However like everything the prices have changed drastically. Gone are the $1.25.... Everything is now $2.25 so take that information and do with it what you will. 2- it JUST opened so it looked extremely clean and well stocked. The real test will be how it looks in a few months. If the staff can keep it that way then props! However I did noticed a lot of shoppers letting their small children play with toys down the aisles and carelessly bumping into people without so much as an excuse me or sorry. 3- The store was PACKED with people, the line was around the corner, and they had a self checkout section as well as a cashier. Once again it JUST opened. So it's to be expected. As far as Daiso's go... this one was in line with most of the others I have been to. Lots of easy parking and tons of goodies to browse. Worth the time to stop and browse if you've never been before. I'll come back in a few weeks to see how the dust settles.

Today we took advantage of being retired geezers on a Monday and drove out to Indio to buy some…read morefresh produce and get some lunch that has been recommended here on Nextdoor. The store is on the northeast corner of Jackson and Avenue 50. {If you don't want to have heart palpitations, come in from Calhoun Street going south and turn right on Avenue 50, and right into the lot on the corner of Jackson because the cars from the two two-lane roads hustling at that Stop Sign are enough to raise your blood pressure a lot.} We saw displays of the most beautiful produce inside the door. Plump oranges, zucchinis, broccoli, cucumbers and many other items show off their freshness and aroma. We found cucumbers, zucchini, carrots and the most fragrant strawberries ever. A bottle of Pico Pica hot sauce rounded out the purchase. Their food truck is parked on the southeast corner of their lot. @elowtitos @lgdesertstore We ordered two carne asada mulitas, a burrito, and loaded fries. Everything was delicious. The staff in the store as well as the food truck are so lovely. My husband was using a walker and everyone in the store was super helpful. We look forward to scooting over often now that we know about this wonderful group of people and the magnificent fruits and vegetables.

Prices are very good for the wares; I saw a 60's faux fur tiger patterned coat for $250 that I've seen in L.A. for $800 for the exact same one. (it's killer - and I have one myself!) The woman working the counter was very friendly and was overheard recommending other vintage stores to customers which earns mad respect from me. My one piece of bitchery is due to the lack of parking; I have a car that I need to keep an eye on and I had to park far away which kept me a bit uncomfortable. If you're shopping here from L.A. that will not bother you at all. I highly recommend spending quality time and money at Thriftology!
