They added a 2nd self-checkout station & this time I didn't have any issues checking out my items. Was also chuffed that there was a guy working the floor that I could ask for help. If you don't know Daiso, then you should! In Japan, Daiso is a low-cost store where you can find items for everything you could possibly need. In Japan, most of the items here are $1. For the longest time, everything in the US-based stores were $1.50; however, with inflation in 2024 and the 2025 debut of tariffs, the prices of these imported items have noticeably crept up to $2.50-$10. The rising costs of the items makes Daiso less of a one-stop shop for me; however, they have really well-made and useful things for inexpensive here. Though there are dozens of Daiso locations in southern California, this location in Torrance happens to be a very well-stocked location. In Japan, Daiso has spinoffs called Threeppy (home goods under $3) and "Standard Products" (inspired by Muji). You can't easily find items from these spinoffs at US Daiso locations; however, I've seen some items from these brands in this location. Despite the rising costs of the items, it's hard for us to pass up a visit to Daiso; especially at this well-stocked location in Torrance! read more

The good: This Japanese dollar store was great! I got kids bandaids, hair trimming shears (with teeth), Tupperware (that allows you to freeze liquids), kitchen knives ($4), an ice cream shaped jelly mold (to use for Playdoh for my kid) and shrimp chips from here. It's a great spot to get cheap household materials or crafts. It's also great for greeting cards or stationary. Their snack section has a lot of ramen, sodas and teas. I always find interesting things here and end up buying more than what I came in for. The bad: The prices have gone up. You cannot push the shopping carts out of the store. The interesting: All of their prices are in yen and you have to use their conversion chart to see the American dollar equivalent. read more

Daiso's in America has the same cheap stuff as in Japan. But in America they have Japanese stuff with the some of the same stuff as Dollar tree. They are $1.50 to $1.75. Almost all of it is cheap chinese stuff and varies in quality. I only shop here sometimes. But it's fun. read more

I love all things kawaii and this store embodies that. I actually avoid coming here because I always leave with more than I came for. I look for one item and come out with an armful. It's fun to browse their latest stationary. I came recently looking for BT21 hand sanitizers which someone had posted on Twitter they found at their local Daiso. Sadly this location didn't have them but they had Tokidoki stickers which I love. Yes I grabbed some stickers, adorable alcohol wipes, washi, and tissue. There is also an extensive array of home goods ranging from mops, brooms, to dinner ware. You also shouldn't leave without checking out the snacks. Parking is a huge lot it shares with numerous other stores in the plaza but beware the drivers. I always get anxiety driving through because for some reason people are driving either way too fast or are backing out of their spots without checking their rear view mirror. Daiso Japan where can I begin? Lots of little trinkets and gadgets that you look at and think to yourself, Yeah I could use this. Snacks, personal effects, home goods, school supplies, everything you may need at a inexpensive price. The name may not be as glamorous as like Big Lots, Dollar store or 99 cent store, it's much much better. I would recommend don't be shy or intimidated by the name and thinking Japanese people only go there, everyone of all ethnicities go there. I've been to quite a few Daiso stores in the US, including several locations in the greater Los Angeles area, but this location is one of the best, if not THE best. First and foremost, this store is very well stocked. I saw quite a few items I had never seen at other locations. The store is very clean, and the merchandise is well organized. The aisles are wide, and it's easy to shop. Parking is also easy and free as it's on a shopping center with a decent size private lot. Finally, as an added bonus, it's right next to Tokyo Central, a Japanese grocery store. Daiso stores aren't uncommon in Southern California, but this one is one of my favorites as it appears larger than most. They are well stocked and even carry items that I dont find at my smaller Daisos. Some of my favorite things to pick up are: stationary items, kitchen gadgets and gift bags. read more

this daiso is very spacious and clean in the inside. it's in a big plaza so there's plenty of parking spaces. i went in and saw tons of aisles filled with goodies. there's a cosmetic section, a stationary section, plushies, and more. i was specifically looking for anything miffy related but i don't think they had any in stock. there's cute sanrio items as well as bt21 stuff too! it's pretty affordable here, and the items are good quality. i loved looking at their sticker section, there's a ton to choose from. it wasn't crowded when i went in the afternoon, just a few people. the kitchen items and baking supplies also had me intrigued. i definitely want to purchase more items from here if i could. i only bought a small stationary notebook along with two sweet breads which came out to $5 as my total. the cashier was fine, nothing good but nothing bad. i think i prefer this daiso over any of the other ones in the area. it seems bigger and has more of a variety to choose from read more

$1.50 store now $1.75! I believe they raised the price to $1.75 for most items starting late March 2022 from $1.50. This place opened for about 10 years and prices remained the same since. They carry other products that are $2, $3, and higher price. Daiso offers wide range of products from food, gardening, electronics, stationary, etc. They often rotate items so if you see something you like, you may not find it next time you come. If you like cool, cute and items you've never thought you'd need in your life but someone else thought of, come here. In fact, come here just to browse around for those odds and end things from the Japanese version of the Dollar Store. Location: This one is located on Sepulveda Blvd and Hawthorne, but there are two other locations nearby in Gardena and East Torrance. All three have private parking lots, but I feel the one in East Torrance is smaller and not as well stocked. Shopping: This location has always been clean, bright and well stocked with just about everything you could possibly want. The seasonal and novelty items are usually found at the front of the store. Items are well stocked and easily found, but keep your eyes peeled. There's always something new in the aisles to look at. Novelty snacks and drinks you can't find at other stores are located along the wall. Even housewares! Note, plasticware abounds and, yes, quality is not amazing, but for what you pay it's good enough. Daisol is one of my favourite little quirky stores here in New York to get little odds and ends. You can always find cute, yet functional little things and great travel accessories. This location surprised me by having Hello Kitty bathroom accessories! I think this was a sign because I just had my bathroom remodeled! I wished they had more but I'm grateful for the things I found. Staff was pretty helpful in locating different things in the store and the lines move quickly. So we have a Daiso Japan in Hawaii (two actually that I know of) but the locations we have in Hawaii are either far (Pearl City) or inconvenient (Piikoi location), so when my friend TJ mentioned that she wanted to visit Daiso before we went back home, I was all for it. Since the only experience with Daiso that I have had was at the Piikoi location back home--it was literally my first and last experience--I did not know what to expect because all I remembered was feeling claustrophobic but this Daiso is like the Disneyland version in comparison! As soon as we walked in, we were promptly greeted by one of the employees and then set about looking around. To the left of the entrance, there were tons of Christmas decor, gift accessories, and other items for people feeling festive. As you moved down the aisles (from left to right), the items then ranged from stickers to stationary to home goods, skincare, organizing accessories, and even snacks and drinks. I believe it took us at least 30 minutes if not longer to browse the entire store. Daiso also seems to have had a recent collaboration with Sanrio, Disney, and BTS, so there were lots of themed items too. Overall, if you happen to like cute little items or need some gift ideas, visiting this Daiso Japan location is definitely worth it. I usually love Daiso. I always make sure to stop by a store whenever I'm in town visiting my family. With that being said, I'm just not a fan of this location. Here's my reasons why: 1. Parking in this plaza is horrendous. And if you do end up finding a parking spot, you better hope that it's next to nice cars so you don't end up with a door ding. 2. The employees are not professional at all. During my most recent visit, the two young male cashiers were discussing a topic that was waaaay inappropriate for work. 3. A lot of their merchandise had the same items on multiple hooks (that means that they don't have what is supposed to be there, so they just double expose merchandise to fill in the gaps.) 4. I was looking for certain items that I've seen multiple times during my past visits to other stores. And of course, they were out of stock on 3 different things I needed (eyelash curler pad refills, a metal wire sink strainer and this certain type of pen.) All of which I found the next day at the store on Western. This location is closer to my family's house, but I'd much rather drive a bit further to the location on Western Ave. read more

They have a little bit of everything, it's all cheaply made, but there's a little added bit of novelty in that there's a Japanese spin on things. I pretty much visit this Daiso, at this location, every weekend. Having visited one of their stores in Tokyo six months ago, I know that they sell the same products in the states as they do in Japan. There are so many fun little things to look at and buy for $1.50, with the occasional item priced higher. The pink and white store is brightly lighted. I like to walk down every aisle. I have purchased socks, cat toys, post-it notes, candy, etc. It's especially enjoyable to visit during holidays when you can purchase seasonal items. The thing about this store is that it is fun. This is my happy place. Everything is pretty much $1.50 in here. There are a few things that are a bit more, but it isn't that bad. Majority of the store is $1.50. They sell a bunch of stuff (look through some of the pictures). I heart this place because a lot of the items sold here could easily be priced higher, but it isn't. Daiso is simply the best. I got a banana holder here. Other stores were selling it for over five bucks. This place is too cute and so are their shopping carts (yup, even their carts are cute). This place is awesome!!! I've been to the Daiso in Japan and in the Philippines. Of all the 3, this is probably the girliest because there's so much pink signs inside (which I love). It's also clean, organized and has ample parking outside. Almost everything is a $1.50 unless specified. You can find everything in this store! Cookware, bakeware, school supplies, food, make-up, home decor, etc. You name it!!! So many cute stuff too! There's also a $10 minimum if you're paying with your credit card. This is my favorite store. So many neat things and for cheap! Japanese version of 99¢ store. They've got everything from kitchenware to bathroom decors and cleaning supplies, notebooks, trinkets, snacks, oh man I could go on. Today's visit didn't have a purpose. It was just to go and I'm glad I did because I finally spotted the popular black clay mask! Whoop! Scooped up 4 bottles. I've never used it before but let's hope I love it. This is the largest Daiso I have been to yet! You actually have room to move in the isles, making it easier to see the items as well as pass others as needed, nice change from other locations. The parking lot is also a bit bigger than most locations, still a mess though. The selection is amazing, there is no such thing as and in out in a few minutes, it always takes me FOREVER from thinking oh that's cute, what it is, ahh ok and on to the next thing. most items are $1.50, I don't think I saw anything over $8. My girlfriends recommended this place for cutesy Japanese things. I didn't have high expectations before walking in, but once I entered, I was immediately mesmerized by the colorful aisles of decorations, household stuff, etc. that I never realized I've always wanted. ;-) Alas, I had limited time to browse the store, as I had to hurry to my next appointment, so I quickly looked for what I originally intended to buy--cutie nori punches. I was momentarily distracted by silicon onigiri molds, but then I put them back on the shelf, convincing myself that I could shape them myself with my hands instead of resorting to all the plastic molds. But I did get one of each of four kinds of cutie nori face punches and a rabbit and teddy rice mold and some little flower veggie cutters as my starter set for making cutie onigiri.
