We went for lunch on a Saturday. Busy, but not crowded. I hadn't been there since they added the ordering kiosks, not sure how I feel about them. Staff was friendly. Restaurant was clean. Food was great as usual. My husband tried the new patty melt burger ($8.95)-he loved it! I hadn't the little bacon cheeseburger ($8.95) and my son had the double patty bacon cheeseburger ($10.95). I guess my feelings are mixed after my visit to Five Guys. It is difficult for me to be too critical of fast food service these days because at least they showed up to work here whereas other places daily have employees no show or just sit around. However, service was pretty slow, and I don't think the gentleman who took my order was very seasoned. You can see everyone working, and no one really had any sense of time or speed. However, I do note the service seems to have been an issue here for years, so maybe a trainer or manager with some hustle would be helpful to have around. I ordered pretty basic - a hamburger on a lettuce wrap with fries. The burgers are the oiliest I have ever had. They were a huge mess. While tasty, I didn't love the amount of grease I had to wipe up and ensure did not get on my clothing. The onions are chopped, so just note that because they don't stay on your burger very well, and end up all over whatever surface you are eating on. And there was slim lettuce holding the sandwich together, and the grease on the burger was nearly penetrating the lettuce. The fries were outstanding and plentiful. I don't usually order fries, but seemed to remember they had tasty ones and I remembered correctly. That was the highlight of the meal. Five Guys was convenient the day I went, but I will stick to ordering from some local establishments in the area and not this chain. My husband craves their burgers every so often, so we'll go. It's not my first choice for burgers especially because there are other better options, taste & price point wise. During the last visit, customer service was just ok and the burger was just ok. Their burgers are actually a bit pricey, but are mediocre. It's always been a pretty clean establishment, too, which is the great part. With so many burger places popping up in Baton Rouge, I probably won't be visiting this place too often, especially when District Donuts is nearby and serve a pretty killer burger! I do enjoy their Cajun seasoned fries though. If you want a hot dog, they do have those also. I personally would not go to a burger place for a hot dog though. They have 2 burger sizes also. This was my first time having Five Guys in years and it was pretty decent. I had always remembered it for being super greasy and just alright but I will say I enjoyed it more this time than I did in the past. This kind of burger is exactly what I want when I'm in the mood for a burger. The only flaw about the burger was that the bacon was just too crispy and just not great. Their fries were soft yet crispy and they gave me so many extras which I was super happy with. There is definitely nothing wrong with this location so that's not the reason I'm giving it less stars. I went inside to order my meal to-go and the worker I interacted with was helpful and nice. I ordered my meal and it was done within 5 minutes of being ordered which was nice. The location was clean as well. The only reason I'm giving this place lower stars is because of how expensive it is and because of how they don't have combo deals. I find it incredibly ridiculous that I paid $20 for a bacon cheeseburger and fries (no drink) when that's usually sit-down restaurant prices. If you're a huge fan of Five Guys, then this location is a great one for you. However, the chain as a whole is just not worth going to very often due to their prices. read more

This is a tasty burger. I have heard the hype surrounding Five Guys, but since there isn't one near me, I had yet to experience the goodness that is their burger. I was in Baton Rouge for most of the week and I wanted a good burger. This was our last lunch in BR and it was great. We arrived during the lunch rush so this place was packed. We placed our order and were number 29. When I heard the server say number 11 was ready, I got a little nervous thinking we wouldn't get served for a long time. That was not the case. Five Guys has figured out how to handle crowds. There were at least 11 workers making burgers and fries and an additional two employees cleaning tables. Our number was called so we sat down and chowed down. This burger is the best burger I have had that only cost five dollars. The burger was juicy, well dressed and had wonderful beefy flavor. I had ordered a regular fry, but in the bag were more fires than were actually in the fry container. I couldn't imagine how many fries come to a large order. The fries were equally wonderful and homemade. Stacked around the restaurant were sacks of fresh potatoes just waiting to be cut and dunked in hot grease. I highly recommend this place. If someone opens one near me, they will earn significant profits based on my visits alone. read more

I am a former employee who is about to tell you the truth about Five Guys in Towne Center. I will be honest and tell you I was let go for reasons that were never explained to me. The employees are dirty. What do I mean by that. They rarely wash their hands. The cooks pants hang around their knees. Some employees don't change gloves when touching different meats. The front counter service lacks excitement. I was great at giving customers a fun experience while taking their order. Others would just say what do you want. I could eat a hamburger every day and at a previous job I did for about 8 months straight. I am a science teacher now which makes me a scientist which makes me a nerd and proud of it. I have been doing a bit of an experiment with burgers lately and my results for Five Guys are as follows. Every burger joint I go to I get the burger the same way: l,t,mayo,cheese, and bacon. I do this to try and get the most consistency between burger places. So far, with the many burgers I have put head to head, Five Guys is my #1 for many reasons. First the ingredients look and taste as fresh as possible. Vegetables are crisp and bright (very appealing quality). They don't skimp on the vegetables either. The beef patty (or patties with some of the burgers) is a nice thickness and tender and juicy. The bun is your typical hamburger bun not a fancy type of sweet roll or something. It was a near perfect burger. For some people presentation is key also. This burger came to the table and was literally 4 inches from top bun to bottom bun filled with the amazing ingredients I just listed. If they would show a picture then that picture is what they give you; not some smashed down sandwich. The junior burger is what I got and it was appropriately filling for the low price (a big plus). This place prides itself on giving its customers something to come back for and for me they have set the bar pretty high. I will continue the personal hunt for the best burger in B.R. but will come back to Five Guys in the mean time. read more

Some days I just crave a good burger. I leave my food snob at home with the dog and go get me some meat on a bun. Being a west coast girl, my first choice for these days was always In-N-Out. But until they get sick of my sending 4,000 letters to the company, give in, and build an In-N-Out on every street corner, I am just going to have to suck it up and stick with Five Guys. Before I wrote this I looked to see how many stars I have to the LSU location and thought I might add a star because this location has better parking but LSU 5 Guys received 3 stars so should I give this one 5? Hhmmmm---it's a burger joint and the first time I tried 5 Guys I came away unimpressed but since then thumbs up plus it's a limited menu. On the other hand subsequent visits have been thumbs up and very satisfied---whether it's the burger, cheeseburger or bacon cheeseburger. The parking is better ---much better--than the LSU location however this location has a lot of traffic so you could find yourself in a packed parking lot---that convinces me---like this location a lot but cannot give it 5 stars----but I highly recommend it and it is on my list of approved places. read more
