I LOVE five guys, so when my friend suggested eating here I was happy. I have never been to this location but the service was great. The staff helped make you feel comfortable and helped with any food questions. I ordered and it came out very fast. They had some great music playing and so was happy to eat inside. Overall, my food was just as delicious as always. I will definitely come back to this location for fast food. Gave 5 Guys a try tonight for the 1st time. Pre ordered online a regular cheeseburger, regular bacon cheeseburger, regular fry, an Dr. Pepper. Totaled $28!!! Too expensive for me! It was all good however the fries were salty. Hot, but salty. The website is very advanced when it comes to timing your order. The site said it would be ready in 8 minutes!? Really!? They send a notification for me to tap when I'm on my way an when I arrive. I notified them but still waited about 5 minutes for my order after arrival. I believe it was for hit made to order fries so, understood. I didnt appreciate the cook with dreads not wearing a hair net. What happen to those days!? I've never had a bad experience coming here as far as food goes. They make a pretty decent burger and I really like their fries with the Cajun seasoning on it . Like many others have stated , they are way overpriced for what all you get . And it's weird to me that there aren't any combos/specials and everything has to be bought separately. I was a little excited to see they had the peanuts out again and available to the customers dinning in or waiting on their orders. Not sure how Covid friendly that is , but I was happy to see it . Now I Didn't care too much for the fact that there was a pretty decent line of people waiting to place orders, but only two workers were behind the bar trying to maintain the grills, deep fryers , the sandwich board, and the register : while literally a hand full of the staff(4-6 people ) were visibly hanging out on the side of the establishment having a smoking session. It's likely that some or all of them may have been getting off, about to clock in , or maybe even on break. However to the buying customer ; it's not a good look, especially when the store is full of people who are waiting to place orders and there's 2 people who are openly frustrated because they're struggling to take care of everything in the restaurant alone. My food was nice , fresh and hot perusal, and made perfectly to my liking. I always forget that even though their small fry comes in a tiny cup , they always over stack the cup / stuff the bag with fries in which I love when they do . So I really could have gotten a small fry and that would have been more than plenty to share with my daughter, but we end up getting 2 small fries. Sit down for this review. If this is your first time visiting a Five Guys location, please don't go to this one. It's not the best, or even a remotely good, representation of this restaurant chain. The hubby and I went in and placed our order at 9:31pm tonight. The young man behind the register (guy with red-tipped dreads), took our order with a disdain I can only describe as palpable and used his index finger to loudly hit the touchscreen with every addition to our order, impatiently placing his hands behind his back between pokes. That poor screen. While paying, he said to my husband, "People keep coming in and I'm trying to take my break." This is verbatim, not even paraphrasing. If you read this, sir, it may be in your best interest to let Five Guys know you don't like working there. After amusingly watching you with the next 6 guests that came in after us, it's clear all of us patrons already know this. We received our two burgers and one small Cajun fry at 9:53 - you can do the math. The burgers were done first and we stared at them longingly on the prep table while our fries, which were dropped AFTER the rest of the order, were finishing. Because there's only so much banter a couple can do to pass the time in a good mood, we started running out of things to talk about and instead resorted to entertaining ourselves with watching the crew. Clearly no one wanted to be there, 9:30+ was way too late for them, and instead of hustling to take care of the "last-minute burger loving rush", they unanimously agreed it was time to roll their eyes and huff their way through resentfully building orders. Verrry slowly. Did I mention ruin 5 people were working tonight? WITH ONE EXCEPTION! In the midst of the Gen Z apathy-bomb taking place in front of us, we spied a beacon of hope. Allow me to preface this by saying that this is *not* the Five Guys I knew when I lived in D.C., the home of the original chain. The burgers were huge, the fries were plentiful, and the service was incredible. This native Texan thought she couldn't find a better burger outside of the South, but Five Guys proved me wrong. And then they franchised. I was living in Dallas again when they opened a location here in 2011, and having spent months talking about how much I missed it, I dragged my family to eat there on opening day. It was supposed to be a tasty, wonderous burger experience that would give us an alternative to Whataburger. Except, it wasn't that. The franchisee scrimped on the ingredients, along with the fries. The meat was dry, cheap, and seemed as though it had been frozen for years. It just wasn't the same burger. As my family looked at me incredulously and possibly questioned my sanity, I could only shrug and mutter, "it isn't the same" as I picked at the soggy mess sitting in front of me. I didn't dare go to a Texas location again until today. I've been back in Cedar Hill for a hot minute, and have been ignoring this Five Guys ever since. I decided to give them another shot, and was met with the same disappointment. This burger was a little better than the one I had years ago, and would have been leagues ahead of it had it not been a soppy, dripping mess. I thought about taking a picture of it for Yelp, but who really wants to see that? Also, I was hongray, and far too lazy to go find my phone. It's for the best. I'd rather focus on the service. The young girl who waited on me could not have been nicer or more patient as I figured out what I wanted, and that is rare around here. We'd stopped at the Wendy's next door prior to coming here, but the drive-thru staff had been so unpleasant that we just left. I see that a few of my fellow Yelpers were a little taken aback by Five Guys' pricing structure. At risk of being condesending (totally not my intention!) I've never known Five Guys to be cheap, and that's due to it not being a fast-food joint - it's purely fast casual, hence the lack of a drive-thru. I agree that $9 for a cheeseburger and no fries or drink is a little expensive, if you're at McDonalds or Whataburger. Five Guys does things a little differently, and perhaps that is what drives up the cost of eating there. They have unlimited fixins' (grilled mushrooms, jalapeno, grilled, not raw onions, etc.) as a standard offering, whereas the others, if they have them, charge at least $0.50 to add them to a burger. Also, the fries are hand-cut and prepped at the store, and they give you tons. Who else does that? I'll end this by saying that I will definitely come back, but maybe just for fries and a shake, and of course, free peanuts. read more

The food was up to the usual Five Guys standard. Great burger and fries but still overpriced for what you get. The order taking part of the service however was substandard. When we walked in there was only one other person waiting to order. The kitchen was staffed but there was no one available to take our orders. After about a 5 minute wait they were able to finally coax someone out of the back to start taking orders. After finding her way to the register she spend a few more minutes taking care of something on her phone before finally taking an order from the person ahead of me in line. This place is way to expensive for normal sized burgers. They charge you almost $9 for a cheeseburger then they have a smaller version for $8? This does not include fries or a drink, if you include those you will pay almost $20 for a basic meal. The prices reflect a plain burger, but you can add all the toppings you need for FREE! like that makes any difference. I guess its just a way of getting your order correct to leave you satisfied to pay a high price? The food isn't all that great either. This was my first time visiting Five Guys and probably my last. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a larger order of Cajun fries. Honestly, for $18.37 I was expecting a far superior experience. The burger was rather messy, sloppy, and completely underwhelming. I've had better palate pleasing experiences from In-N-Out and I'd even go as far as comparing the antichrist of burgers, McDonalds, as a more appealing option. First impressions were far from ideal. The restaurant was not as clean as I expected and the staff looked rather unkept. From sweating employees (I realize it is the start of summer in Texas, however it is unattractive), loud music, and an empty dining area, I was less than impressed. Call me crazy, but first impressions make a difference. Unfortunately, I'd ordered online or I would've probably walked out. The burger itself was a large mess. Taking it out of the bag was an experience as it looked more akin to a large metallic softball instead of the universal shape. From there, it all went down hill fast! Flavor was nonexistent and I found myself struggling to understand what I spent $18.37 on! What is with the fries? The bag itself was stained with grease! You'd think a Texas crude well would pop up soon and begin extracting oil ! Yes, they may smell beyond amazing, but could they be less greasy? However, I'll give credit for the online ordering process. I used my phone to place an order and I was ready when I walked in 10 minutes later. I've experienced poor online ordering before, so this was a fresh change from the norm. Unfortunately, I'll probably skip this restaurant and dissuade others from trying it as well. Honestly, I'd been wanting to try the ~infamous~ FIve Guys ever since they opened up in Cedar Hill but never got the chance. The first time I went, we ended up not being able to eat there because there's no chicken or turkey options and there was someone in the party that didn't eat beef. Not a big deal. The second time I took my brother there for his birthday lunch cause that's the place he chose. Inside was nice. Everything looked very clean. The service was fine. One cool thing is that they have peanuts for customers to eat while waiting, or just whenever they want to really. Though it's not like it's really advertised. I only knew what they were because my brother mentioned it to me. The food was okay. I mean, what I had was good, there wasn't anything wrong with it but for what you have to pay here, you could easily go somewhere else to get something either equally as good or better for a lot less. Another thing to note is that their burgers are huge, and so are the fries. If you don't think you're gonna eat much, definitely go for the "little" options when ordering. I also got an Oreo shake, that I didn't receive until after my food was delivered. I had to go up to the counter to ask for it and all the employees seemed a little confused at first. But then a minute or so later it got called as ready. When I got it it seemed pretty obvious that it had been made and forgotten about because it was already somewhat melted. Overall, it was an okay venture but disappointing for how much people seemed to talk up the chain and how they fawn over how great it is. To me it was just another burger joint. I haven't been in a Five Guys burger joint in 4 or 5 years. I couldn't remember why I didn't go very often so I stopped here to grab a bite. I ordered the cheeseburger with small fries and small drink. Once they told me how much it was then I remembered why I only went there once before. $16.20. That's ridiculous. Now I'll preface this by saying the staff was very nice and the place was clean but the burger isn't any better than what I can get at a good burger place in Red Oak or Waxahachie but the prices in those towns are a far much better value. I had planned on taking my wife and two grandsons to a Five Guys the next time we got them. The boys have never been to one before. They both can eat a adult meal. But it doesn't take a genius to figure out what that would do to my pocketbook. I'll let their parents take them. So the two stars are more for value than for the meal itself. read more

Five Guys is pretty straightforward, they do burgers, hot dogs, and fries; period. I guess the thing I like most are the fresh ingredients. While FG is a little more expensive than some other fast food places, I prefer the fresh product verses the freeze meat at some of the other places. This location has good service that is quick and friendly. There's a good selection of toppings you can get with no extra charge. I enjoy the grilled onions and jalapeños. And their hot sauce is actually pretty good. I love the fries, meaty and tender and tons of them. I can usually order and get my meal within five minutes Seating is a little limited, but you order comes ready to go, so if there's no room, you can keep walking right out the door. The burgers here are pretty expensive, but they do include all toppings at no charge though. That includes toppings that most places charge for like grilled jalapenos, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and grilled green peppers. The little bacon cheeseburger I ordered was $5.29. My burger came out wrapped in foil, which smushed the bun pretty good. It was OK, nothing special. The fresh cut fries were really good. The regular order is probably enough for 2 people. The restaurant was really loud on the Saturday I visited. The music was turned up too high and the sound of the other customers made it hard to have a conversation. The seating area has too many tables crammed in a small area. I don't think I will be back to this place. You don't get you moneys worth here. My little bacon burger, regular fries, and regular drink came to $11.34 including tax. The next time I'm looking for a fast food burger in Cedar Hill I'll probably just go to Braums. The strange thing is the bun was cold, why not put that on the grill a moment... also the bacon on the burger was burnt. The prices are high for what you get, but at the same time the regular hamburger does come with 2 patties and is in actuality a big hamburger that tastes good.
