Wasn't bad but dang their burgers are heavy on the stomach afterwards. Next time I'll try the BLT though

Young gentleman that took our order was energetic, kind, and helpful. Ordered a Cheeseburger, Cajun Fries, and a Soda. Food was delicious just like other locations I've been to. Both Coke machines (serve yourself) were filthy on the inside (where you put the cup) with an orange or red substance. Ick.

This Five Guys location sits just off the main Concord Mills strip at the corner of Bruton Smith and Weddington Road. I had just left a sales presentation at the Great Wolf Lodge conference center and I figured I'd give it a go! Picking up food for my girlfriend and me, I walked in and the restaurant is typical of most Five Guys in the area: minimalist red-and-white decor with a clean, modern interior. It has been quite some time since I've visited a Five Guys, and maybe I didn't notice at other locations but MAN are they PROUD of their product. The only decor on the walls are magazine covers offering praise to the Five Guys Burgers and Fries, most of them local community and state magazines. This time I decided to count, 30 magazine covers, with 6 bigger signs featuring media quotes about the food, and then 2 even bigger signs from national magazines or newspapers delivering even higher praise! I thought to myself, "This better be the best damn burger the universe has ever crafted!" Unfortunately, I can't agree that it was the best burger. Don't get me wrong, it was a good burger! All the toppings are fresh, the buns are nice and soft, the patty is well portioned even though I chose the "Little Burger" knowing that their regular is massive. This is where my main problem lies with Five Guys: PRICE. I ordered 2 "Little" bacon cheeseburgers (one for me and one for my girlfriend), 1 Regular Fry to split, no drinks. The total came out to $19 and some change. While I don't mind paying for a quality meal, I know of many local places where you can get the same fare for less damage to your wallet. Service was great, restaurant was clean as a whistle (In which, I mean it was very clean. Am I the only one who thinks whistles could be dirty??), it just didn't seem like a $20 value. Tell me I'm wrong maybe, enlighten me please, I will probably return but only if friends or family are ready to go and can afford it. A LAST MINUTE addition: I was ready to give this place a 3-star review, but I paused for a second and thought "I wonder what people who work there think of their job experience?" So I pulled up Five Guys on Indeed and they are a fairly high rated employer. Most associates seem happy with pay and benefits, and if you can get the mass of your employees to say that they're content flipping burgers all day then you must be paying well. So while I stand by the rest of my review, I do believe that employers that treat their employees fairly and can compete with national brands is deserving of merit, even if they have to charge a more premium price. Good on you Five Guys!

This place beats McDonald's by a landslide, this will definitely be my new hamburger place of pleasure from henceforth.

This is our favorite healthy "fast food" joint around. My kids are gluten and dairy free and they are so careful about making sure the food is acceptable to them. As soon as we tell them we have an allergy they are right on changing their gloves and cleaning the counters right away. My kids don't get soda often, it's a real treat when they do and the Coke machines are so versatile it's very fun for them and us to choose what we are getting to drink for our visit The only thing I wish they would do differently is offer some gluten free bread options, but it's not the end of the world to go bread free at Five Guys because they do offer the burger in a bowl or with a lettuce wrap. My son prefers the bacon dogs, and would love a nice gluten free dog bun. Maybe one day Five Guys?

While the food quality is good as usual, the orders might be a little more accurately executed if there was less socializing.

Optimist Hall itself is a very food-centric, upscale food hall with a ton of vendors, so the atmosphere is energetic and fun. Seating can be a little challenging during peak dinner hours since so many people are grabbing food from different spots, but when the weather is nice there's plenty of outdoor seating. Harriet's keeps their burger formula refreshingly simple. It's a classic smash burger done right--made to order with a straightforward menu that doesn't overcomplicate things. There's usually a line, but it moves pretty quickly, and the burgers come out hot and fresh. One of the best parts of eating here is the flexibility of the food hall experience. While you're waiting, you can grab a craft beer, a glass of wine, or even browse for dessert from one of the other vendors. Insider tip: Come with a group if you can. It's a great place to share fries and let everyone explore different vendors around the hall. Parking is fairly easy with the nearby garage, which makes the whole experience even more convenient. Overall, Harriet's is a fun, delicious stop for a smash burger, especially if you're already enjoying the energy of Optimist Hall.

I live super close to Optimist Hall, so it's been on my radar for a while. This particular night I wasn't feeling great, so I DoorDashed instead of dining in. I ordered the Royale with crispy fries and let me just say... I get it. The burger was genuinely impressive. The quality of the beef stood out immediately. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The meat to bun ratio was spot on, which is crucial. Nothing worse than a bread heavy burger. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh, the build was balanced, and even after delivery, everything held up beautifully. So far I've tried two burger spots in Charlotte, and this one takes the top spot. I'm not ready to declare it the best in the entire city just yet because my burger tour is ongoing, but right now it's leading the race. I'll definitely be going to Optimist Hall soon to try it fresh off the grill and experience the service and atmosphere firsthand. Expect an update. But based on this first round alone, Harriet's is absolutely worth the order. Burger lovers, this one deserves a try.

Whole family liken the brie and bacon bites and cranberry sauce that comes with them. I asked if they had any mocktails and was delighted that not only did they but Savannah recommended one that I totally loved. We regularly doordash Bad Daddy's and I think that their tater tots are stand out. This location was no exception. They are the perfect texture and flavor every time. We ordered an assortment of burgers and everyone's order arrived exactly as requested from temp to which items or condiments to be included. They grabbed us some mayo when we asked for some for the tater tots. Whole family sans me loved the specialty sauce they make. It was ok but I am also not as into sauces as the rest of the fam :) For dessert we ordered the Oreo cheesecake and the banana pudding. Both were phenomenal and everyone was thrilled with. Excellent banana pudding flavors, texture and layers. I think may be one of the best I have ever had. Definitely in my top 5. Family that had the Oreo cheesecake loved it, thought it was a unique take and did not leave any on the plate nor did they need a to go bag. I found all the desserts to be a shareable size for us. Would absolutely return and recommend!

The restaurant was a ghost town on a Sunday evening. Maybe everyone is still eating Thanksgiving leftovers? Since there were 3 of us, we opted for an order of 3 tenders, 3 sliders, and 3 fry flavors. It was definitely enough for us to all share. The tenders were nice and crispy and the sweet chili sauce was good. I picked the Green Flag slider with bacon and pickles, very tasty. The little burger was cooked perfectly. For the fries we went with beer cheese and bacon, MW dusted, and Cajun. The Cajun were the best of the 3. The MW dust is a little on the sweet side which I didn't mind because I was dipping mine in the leftover sweet chili sauce. I was hoping to be able to pick tots as one of the 3 options but it was fries or tots, no mixing. I was also a little disappointed that the entrees options did not come with any sides. Since they were dead, the hostess was also our server. She was sweet. She answered all of our questions with ease. She didn't check back as much as I would have preferred for refills and the check but it wasn't a terrible wait. I think I was just ready to hit the road for the long ride home.
