Came here for lunch on a weekday. There was a line, but didn't take too long from when I ordered to when I got my order. In So Cal, all burger joints are compared to the almighty In N Out. I have to say, Five Guys didn't measure up. Yeah, there were the roasted peanuts and the fries were pretty good. The burger.... Yes, it is customizable to your liking (# of patties, cheese, peppers etc), but the quality just wasn't the same. Perhaps if they changed the bun, it might have made a difference. It was difficult to find this location and hard to find parking. Bottom line: Will I eat Five Guys again? Maybe, if I came with a group who really wanted it. If I had a choice? I'll go to my local In N Out, pay less and enjoy it more. read more

Great burgers! They're a bit on the small side, but that isn't a bad thing- they are so loaded with condiments/toppings. More expensive than in n out but I think the quality is better. I got bacon on my burger and it was great! And the peanuts were a delicious snack while we waited for our burgers! Inconsistency can kill a place. The little burger is consistently good. The one with two patties terrible. This is a real problem, because the little is not enough and the other too much meat and cheese. Oh well. I just order a little and return for more. I usually prefer places that have a signature burger that you don't have to include or exclude ingredients, however this is an exception I will forgive. I liked everything I ordered on my burger except the fresh jalapenos. Picked them off with the quickness. They added no flavor. The fries are very good. Both kinds salted and Cajun seasoned. One solid word of advice don't eat the cajun fries before or during your burger massacre the seasoning will overpower your burger. Hate the location at the mall. If i could give minus stars to this place I would.. I walk in with my husband, we say hello how are you to the cashier (only cashier working 11/20/17 at 8.20 pm) And he's staring at us. I thought maybe he didn't hear us and I repeated to him hello how are you. He continues staring at us with the eye look of "are you gonna hurry and order what you want for food anytime soon?" mind you,, we were the only 2 in line.. So we order our food. Then he yells 4 patties. To the 3 chefs sitting by the grill. We went got our drink, came back. And there was no patties on the grill yet. But instead. A karaoke by the grill by the 3 chefs singing and dancing to the music playing. We didn't say anything because who doesn't like to seeing other people happy at work. But to have to wait 30 minutes on 2 burgers at a fast food place while there isn't any clients other than us to serve is a little insane. Good but not so superior as to be notable. Not quite as good as The Counter...about the same as Fatburger, but I like Fatburger better. Frequently compared to In-n-Out but it's a different animal...pardon the pun. I went to Five Guys at West Field Mall while my friend and Iwere on a day trip to Venice Beach. He had heard that Five Guys was a great place. They have a menu that makes everything pretty simple when it comes to burgers. The menu is layed out in black and red. One line will say something like (mayo, onions, etc) I ordered a cheese burger with everything in red. We ordered one order of fries because it was more than enough for two people, and we had cajun spice put on the side. The burger was fantastic! It reminded me of a home cooked burger, exremely juicy. It was a great burger and comfort food all at the same time! The cajun spice was amazing! absolutely wonderful. The blends of the spices are near perfect :D On a day when I am having a "cheat meal" I would definitely head back. read more

The burger is VERY messy, and being mid-west based.... large. A burger is double stacked, a "mini" is, well a regular burger (to most). There are probably 20 different things you can have on your burger, so get creative. Ok so me and my room mate came here as it was my favorite place when I lived in the east coast. We were kind of over in n out and fat burger and mind you in the east coast we're not much with the spicy foods. But the girl offered to make us fries with a kick and well since I moved to LA I learned to LOVE spicy stuff like even on my fruit at fruit stands ... weird right ? So I was like ok I guess I'll try these Cajun style fries! First of all those fries tasted so great and natural and then we decided to dip them in the barbecue sauce it was the best invention to French fries. I loved how they kept their east coast traditions , and they for sure did not fail to jam pack the brown paper bag with happiness Aka those Cajun fries from the heavens . Ok yeah I'm obsessed with the fries but now let me start with how perfectly juicy my burger was ... like it might have been a little messy but honestly nothing beats having a big juicy tasty and saucy burger when you normally encounter kind of dry parties with the flavor only being the sauces you add yourself.. I can honestly say I didn't have to add anything to my burger it was super phenomenal I wouldn't want to offend it's natural nature by adding anything to it haha. Third try at this location. First go was OK. Second was dreadful. Third attempt, abysmal. Sunday night: Line out the door. Three people working their. :30 minutes to get a burger. Not only was it the wrong burger, it was soggy, and downright... gross. Tossed it and went to In and Out. And I don't like In and Out. I've had Five Guys in Palm Springs. I enjoyed it. So clearly not all outlets suffer from the understaffed, dreadful food as this location. Three strikes and you're out! Not going back to this one! read more

Obnoxious comparison time. I love In N Out as much as the next guy, but Five Guys is the clear winner of this burger battle. Sure, its a little more expensive, but its well worth it. The burgers taste better, its easier to order for picky eaters like me, since you just say what you want on it, there is no "standard way." I find it interesting that several reviewers here took that as a bad thing. I would much rather say what I want on my burger than have to assume, or ask what comes on it! The fries are awesome, and they give you a ton. I love burgers. I'd probably give In N Out a 5 star rating too. They're really good, and pretty cheap. Its a different experience. Tried for the first time. The burgers are juicy, flavorful and very messy. Still love the 4x4 @ In 'n' Out, but this is a nice alternative.

I agree that Five Guys is a bit overpriced. And the burgers aren't out of this world. But why do people keep complaining that Five Guys doesn't have combos? You do realize that In n Out's combos do not save you any money, right? If you order each item separately at In n Out, it costs EXACTLY THE SAME as if you order the combo. I tried this place for the time a few weeks ago. Im a burger fan, but I wasn't that impressed with this place. When I walked into the joint I was wondering why are there so many peanut shells on the floor and tables. As I later found out, I guess they have free peanuts as a snack. To me, I just don't really dig the concept. For me it makes the place seem like dive bar. It looks tacky seeing peanut shells on the floor and the tables that I am about to eat at. On top of that the prices are too high for what you get. I ordered a cheeseburger and some fries and I was almost paying 10 bucks. I not a chrapskate. I'll pay for a good burger, but this wasn't that great. I could have got two in and out combo meals for that price. I think I will skip this place next time. read more

I heard Jerry Murrell inspirational story "how i built this with guy raz" podcast.So i was very excited to try five Guys for the first time especially since i was craving a cheeseburger. When i got home It was so disappointing to find a hamburger patty w/cheese between two buns. I was extremely confused. Why didn't my cheeseburger have any toppings? or at least pickles? or mayo?...so i was thinking the cashier never asked me if i wanted toppings or make me aware it was an option not to have any toppings. Don't know if i missed it somewhere on the menu or if i was suppose to stand at the window to watch them make the burger to request toppings. So then i called the store to ask if it says it on the menu to request toppings and she said " when you order you only order the burger"...As Im googling photos of the menu i see the wording of "Everything or All the way". As a first time experience i would recommend for customer service purpose to maybe have cashiers ask "With everything? All the way up?" just to familiarize customers with the five guys experience. Again, my 2 star ratings is only because my cheeseburger was not what i expected and a simple question from the cashier could have made my 2 star burger into a 5. If i was expecting just a burger w/cheese and buns i would give this a 5 star. Thank you! read more
