    Happy Place!

The Playa Vista Hopdoddy location is our go-to spot for dinner whenever we catch a flick at the Cinemark next door. The staff makes us feel like family. They're genuinely friendly, attentive, and they even come table-side with their handhelds so we can skip the long lines when we want to order another round. Their rewards app is also one of the best I've ever used. We visit so often we've reached Legendary Status, which comes with fun perks like a free Burger of the Month and the occasional bonus like free fries bowl or a birthday shake! Speaking of the Burger of the Month, it's usually creative and worth trying. They're not all hits, but when they are... wow. I still dream about the Breakfast Burger they had this summer. Slap an egg on a burger and I'm all in! My husband is a big fan of their goblets of beer and I enjoy the occasional boozy shake (decadent and dangerous in the best way.) My only wish? A nice Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc by the glass to round out the drink list. It's the only reason I've rated them 4 stars instead of 5! Chardonnay just isn't my jam, and unfortunately beer upsets my stomach these days. All in all, Hopdoddy Playa Vista nails it on food, service, and hospitality. Definitely one of our go-to neighborhood spots.

Delicious burgers with hot and crispy truffle Parmesan fries. Parking at this location is extremely limited. The patio has sunny dining and great alternative music. Service was friendly and food arrived pretty quickly.

I've been here several times with my wife, and we came back for a date night. Service stood out this time. Our waitress, Autumn , was kind and attentive, guiding us through the menu with care. We started with the Hot Honey Brussels Sprouts. She had the sauce served light and on the side, which made the dish perfectly balanced instead of overpowering last time was so hot couldn't enjoy it. My wife had the kale salad with beef, exactly how she likes it. I went for the Cadillac Wagyu burger, no bacon. It was excellent, especially after traveling overseas and craving something satisfying. We split regular fries and sweet potato fries, both done right. Everything from the food to the service felt consistent and thoughtful. Hopdoddy continues to deliver a strong experience. Rating: 4.7 Burgers

Hopdoddy is genuinely one of the best burger joints I've had in my entire life. Ever time I come it amazes my taste buds. Me and my boyfriend came for dinner tonight! We both got the Wagyu burger and a large order of fries. Everyone that works here is so nice and atmosphere is amazing.

Overall pretty good experience. The establishment is in a convenient location with free parking. You can buy groceries or do some shopping after a big meal. The food: - I got the classic cheeseburger. Take great and was cooked medium rare- just right. Very large. - the Truffle fries were good too good. Wish I was crispy as McDonald but not everyone can be goated. Recommend get two dipping sauce. Service : - 5/5 we got our order and they brought the food over pretty quickly. Friendly and speedy. Ambience: - chill af

Twice in a row a disappointment. Last time my burger was over cooked to the point it no longer had any taste. This time my wife's veggie burger was burnt and yes, without taste. Why the over cooking? I like the food but not when it gets ruined.

As service sucks here at hot daddy, literally waited for 45 minutes for my food and kept asking was it ready and they said it wasn't ready then to find out that my food was just sitting there. Poor customer service.

Update: new item is the buffalo chicken lollipops! Very good buffalo flavor and juicy chicken. Easy to eat and good for sharing. I also noticed the honey sage sweet potato fries upgraded! The fries are skinnier so they're much crunchier and taste even better than before! Service is always wonderful and my go to spot for casual dinners with friends.

Had the Shishito Wagyu burger and it definitely lived up to the hype. The meat was juicy and rich, and the shishito peppers gave it just the right amount of heat without overpowering the flavor. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. The place has a laid-back vibe and the service was on point. Pro tip: Ask for the truffle aioli on the side--goes perfectly with the fries or even a dip for the burger. I'll be back to try more.

Myquesha greeted us with the loveliest smile and instantly made this a great dining experience. We came in just after 5pm today (Friday) and enjoyed the El diablo, Thunderbird, Sweet potato and regular fries. We were seated right away and our food was brought out nice and hot. Thank you for the great service!

I went with the double smashburger with cheese, tomato, and grilled onions. The patties had those really dark, crispy edges from being smashed down on the grill, which gave the burger a ton of flavor. It was a big burger and surprisingly filled me up. I came in right around noon and there was only one other guy sitting inside, which had me a little concerned at first. And I do not mean like a current New York alley I mean like an alley that cartoon characters would inhabit but in real life. Like the Teenage Ninja Turtles would want to come here if like in their later years they were no longer able to enjoy cheese and spicy sauce so they moved on to the food of this place. As soon as we entered we were supported by a staff member that I want to call Danny. I might be right and I might be wrong. I am hoping that I got the name right but I may not have. But really, all of the people there that night were attentive and went the extra mile to make sure I felt comfortable and informed. For example, when I started to take pictures of their large wall menu Danny began explaining some of their more popular options. He spotlighted the Ban Mi-Ki. I am not sure why the extra Ki. I mean I know of the world to know that Banh mi are vietnamese but I guess I don't get the joke. But eventually I ordered this sandwich as part of a combo. I got tater tots, which were a great fried treat. And this might sound hard to believe but there are a lot of places that do not sell tator tots. I know that Sonic does and maybe some other places, but other than that one can be hard press to find a good tater tot. So this place is here in case one ever experiences a tater tot emergency. My drink was a cherry vanilla coke. I made it in thier mx and match soda machine. And the possibilities literally seemed endless. Like I do not know what computation must be used t determined the flavors that can be created but one might need the brain of Hawkling or Eiesten to fully get the accurate number or a solid ball park figure. Conrad and I spolied ourselves here. First we got a strawberry milkshake that had gone crazy with toppings. I did not take a picture of the milkshake menu or can I see the toppings from pictures but Conrad and I both agreed that the shake had graham cracker dust and crackers. I finished mine. He did not. He took his home. Yes, he is the kind of character that beliefs he transport ice cream from a restaurant to his home, despite us having a 30 minute drive ahead. Conrad got a cheesesteak sandwich that we split. This was comforting, good, and deliciouns. This is what I mean by food that is easy to love. It is something familiar that does it job extremely well without a scream but trusted flavors implemented well. After the milkshake, and the sandwich, and the tator tots, and the onion rings Conrad and I saved half of the Banh Mi for home. I ate mine cold the day after for lunch and I was like I need to write yum in graffiti somewhere quickly. The flavors had not gone away, they were present even after chilling in the fridge. And if one remembers that there was an onion ring in the mix this feat becomes more impressive because how can an onion ring be delicious if it no longer has its original fried goodenss? Being supported by the other flavors of this sandwich that is how. I also bought a cookie that mixed chocolate and strawberry I think. It was something like that. I had it with milk. Another way that proves that tradition can be amped up with color, if one counts rasberry flavoring as color. This place is an experience. I sat or saw hubcaps.

The ambiance is chill with graffiti art, outdoor conter seating and indoor with sports and LA content playing. Although I wanted to try one of the fat sandwiches, I chose the healthier option, the turkey club add jalapeño. The person at the counter was helpful in explaining the sandwiches since i was a first time customer. He mentioned the fat sals typically comes with several types fried items on top. Which was a great summary of the sandwiches. The turkey club was decent, it had a good amount of meat and the combination of flavors was good. The bread was soft enough not to hurt when you bite into it, it also held the sandwich together, but I did have to attack it from the sides instead of a traditional way of eating a sandwich. Haha. Overall, it's a solid place to get a sandwich.

Everything in the order was correct. Kimchi & spam with fried egg on top: Very yum. Legit spicy. I prefer my egg to be a little runny, so this was slightly overcooked for me but safer from a food safety standpoint. Generous with the kimchi. Great taste. Would get again. Spicy soy garlic chicken tenders: Good flavor, legit spicy. Not as crispy as I would have liked (Kyochon used to have the best but now they only do wings). Would get again. Soy marinated quail eggs: Loved these. Hubby and I only got one each before kiddo stole the rest. Would definitely get again. A little reminiscent of the tea eggs you would get from a Taiwanese shop, but these are small so you can pop the whole thing in your mouth and they burst in there and it's so satisfying. Fried kind oyster mushrooms: These were probably my least favorite because they weren't as spicy or flavorful as the other foods, but kiddo loved them, so will definitely order again. Banchan: Meh. The white radish was a little on the soft side, and I'm not a huge fan of takuan in general, though I liked how they made it spicy. Carrots were ok. Didn't try the mac salad (not my thing). Looking forward to trying more things on the menu.

HP hasn't forgotten how to provide outstanding food and service. It is still top notch here! We really enjoyed the outdoor patio space too! It was clean and a very refreshing space to dine in. We all order medium rare burgers. We all got well done, I mean burnt. But the fries were still great. The last time (and we won't be back), all the wheels came off the wagon. There was one person there to help us, now maybe there was a cook, I really don't recall. The place was still not clean. The service was still so slow (get off your phone, dude). The fries were a tad cold this time and not great. The burgers were burnt again and this time I sent them all back and I don't think they liked that, because they served them so close to raw. We toosed them in the trash and went elsewhere.
