LOML always gets the cheeseburger and me "hold the cheese". For awhile I was crazy about this place but I think it's just because most chain burgers underachieve...so 5G seems exceptional. But you know, this is an average burger...fresh, but average. Parking is utter bull crap. You cannot circle the lot. The lot is so tiny if you don't get a parking spot you must leave and turn around and try again and hope someone has left. As far as food goes I would say its sub par. A lot of people enjoy the fries. My opinion is they are over salted and the hot dog and burger buns are soggy when I eat here. I only come here if I am with friends. I would not come here of my own choice. But this is just my opinion. Suggestions for better customer service would be a bigger parking lot you can circle around, higher quality buns and an option to choose how you want your burger cooked. read more

Tried them out for the first time today. I thought it was pretty good. Cheeseburger with everything on it... very tasty, not too greasy, and a decent size. Fries were okay. Good flavor, and though there were some good crispy ones, most were on the limp side. (I got the cajun, which were pretty tasty, though not really hot at all.) Definitely a decent alternative to the other fast food burger places. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, but if I wanted a burger and the alternatives were... well... any of the other burger chains, I'd absolutely choose these guys hands down. read more

In a moment of weakness brought on by an apocalyptic October snowstorm, we made an inaugural trip to Five Guys. If you're counting calories, try the soda fountain-- it also dispenses water! I should have read the Yelp reviews prior to our visit, because had I known the "regular" burger contained two beef patties, I would have opted for the "little" version, which seemed plenty substantial. As far as burger chains are concerned, this one is solid. Some have said Five Guys is a lesser version of In 'n Out, but I think the opposite is true. Five Guys somehow seems less "fast food" than In 'n Out, and I liked that there were so many toppings to choose from. A small order of fries (cooked in peanut oil-- a nice touch, but who are we kidding here?) was more than enough for two people, and drink refills are complimentary. read more

Five guys is greasy goodness if you are in the mood to down a whole day's calories in 30 minutes. The burgers have two patties, unless you order the little. I've been there a few times and haven't been overly impressed. The burgers are very good, but the prices are crazy, and don't include fries or a drink. Burgers are a bit bland, and could use some seasoning. Five guys have a longer wait than other fast food places, which can be irritating. Love the Cajun fries though. Oh, Five Guys...The typical college kid-based fast food chain. I find it quite pricey for fast food, but you get more than what you pay for. A "small" fry is a giant greasy brown bag of 'em! You can get absolutely anything you want on your burgers. It's just very greasy. I feel like I'm going to slip on the floor and have to wash my face after eating there. They've got all these different soft drinks like birch beer and mr.pibb, and what other fast food chain has malt vinegar? I give it 4 stars for originality and great food!! Typical Five Guys: slightly greasy burgers made from fresh ingredients, tasty fries, friendly service. This location has the nifty space-age machines that vend any combination of soda imaginable. The bathroom was slightly grungy (hence four stars), which is unusual for a Five Guys in my experience. read more

Visited this particular facility twice in the last 30 days. Nice atmosphere, quick service with cheery and professional employees. Burgers prepared to our liking. I've been going to Five Guys from the day it opened in Enfield, and I love it! The food is great!! They do a great job with many different topping options, and very low prices. Every-time I go the staff are really nice, and the food comes out fast! I really like the new Coke Freestyle soda machine, and the free peanuts are just great. Chances are you've been to or at least heard of Five Guys...they seem to be opening one a day (I'm a Facebook fan, so I get their openings in my news feed all the time...Think I need to 'unfriend' them actually as it is annoying). There may have been others who came first, but they really hammered home and now dominate the fast casual burger market...and for good reason. If you haven't been, be prepared for a very utilitarian experience. White and black checkered walls, basic red upholstered chairs and spartan tables is the look of the day. They actually stack the fresh potatoes and peanuts they use in the seating area to enhance the effect. All works very well in my opinion to hit home the point that you're here to get your burger, fries, and soda and get out. The menu, likewise, is very spartan. You want a chicken sandwich? Sorry. How about a vegetarian option? Well, the small fries they serve should really count as a meal unto themselves. You're menu is basically 3-4 burger options (w/ plenty of topping options), 1-2 fries options, and a soft drink. I believe I have seen hot dogs on the menu, but never remember anyone actually ordering one. Again...you are here for your burger, fries, and a soda...nothing else to see here folks. So you wait in a potentially long line (every one I've been to gets slammed with lunch crowds for good reason), order up your burger and fries...I always go with bacon cheeseburger...Because if you're going to fatten up, you might as well go all-in. Quick note to the uninitiated: Regular burger is two patties while a junior is 1 one patty. If you're not down for a heavy meal, a junior will probably do you well after you saddle it up with all the topping options. Likewise, you will not be needing to order a large fry unless you are specifically ordering to share among many. They are known for overfilling the fry cup and letting some spill into the paper bag they eventually serve to you. Get your number, go find a seat and wait some more! At this point, you will find the aforementioned peanuts available as a free app at each table. You get the added bonus of having to shell your peanuts to keep you occupied while you wait. Fun! Eventually your number gets called with your meal served in a brown paper bag ready to be consumed on the road (do not recommend...messy) or at a table. So, how does a place that does so little on ambience and service generate such crowds. Because, you will be hard pressed to find a better burger / fry combo in a fast casual format...This is not your 1/2 lb, red in the middle burger...This is your nicely seasoned, griddled, and well done burger with all the fixin's and it's a messy, greasy masterpiece. The fries are hand cut, deep fried in peanut oil and liberally seasoned as well (go Cajun if you ask me). Throw in a soft drink and you are setup nicely for a mid-afternoon food coma. Luckily, for me, Five Guys are strategically placed to make it a pain in the butt to get regularly. If there was one in Wethersfield, I could easily be 5-10 lbs heavier than I already am. So, I guess you can say I recommend Five Guys Burgers and Fries. Enjoy! read more

Five Guys is amazing. When you compare the best that McDonald's or Wendy's has to offer versus what Five Guys offers, it's really sad that those fast food restaurants have really made it as far as they have. I'm not saying that Five Guys is necessarily healthier or cheaper than McD's or Wendy's, but what you get, if you get a burger and a large fry, is made carefully with your specifications in mind. I usually got (past tense, since I'm now a vegetarian, sigh) their regular double patty cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and mushrooms, green peppers (they can grill those if you order in-person instead of online), pickles, ketchup, mustard and mayo. It is to DIE FOR, and to me really symbolizes the perfect American cheeseburger. Their large fry is a meal in and of itself, and goes great with ketchup. My only complaints would be (a.) that the bun is really an afterthought since everything is so juicy, and (b.) that the grilled onions are diced pretty small and kind of disappear in the whole mess. Just got home from ordering Five Guys. Boy have they gotten cheap on the fries. Used to be that the fries were overflowing now the smaill is smaller than a kids size at McDonald's. Not cheap to eat at Five Guys and still love the food but someone needs to take a look at the size of the fries. Rating you a 2 and thats only because the fries are great, just have gotten cheap on quantity!!! read more

This place is fantastic, though there is another one further south in CT. Yes, the burgers are ridiculously calorie-laden and the fries they give you are thrown into your brown paper bag by the scoop. Bonus to them for allowing you to create your own customized burger, with no additional charge for the extra condiments (though maybe the price is factored into the burger price?). Regardless, the price isn't expensive at all, considering all that you get, it is a damn good deal! One down side to this particular location is the fact that they do not have enough parking AND getting IN and OUT of the lot is a little hectic at certain times of day. I suppose once the hype has come down, the parking won't be such an issue anymore. I've found a great time to go is around 11:30am, before the lunch rush. I recommend this place to everyone who asks. The wait time is a little long at this one, but the one by the Wal-Mart in Avon (or Canton, I can never remember which) has a shorter wait time and more room to sit.
