Ordered Five Guys for delivery, so I haven't actually been in the location before. Unfortunately when ordering a burger and fries for delivery the food is always room temperature (no fault of the business, just the name of the game of delivery). While the stores, uniform and cookie-cutter though they may be, are routinely cold, they feel relatively clean. They bus the tables and sweep the floors, and the restrooms are reasonably attended to. Dining here is fine - but the food is the thing. Better than ordinary fast food, it does not rise to the next-level eminence of its obvious inspiration, In-N-Out Burger, but it's close. I mean, physically close. Five Guys is all over the Twin Cities. Seemingly thousands of identical locations. One must stay indoors to avoid them. But the food is worth the trip. They'll customize a burger any way you'd like and they make a mean shake. The fries are actually the star. Hand cut in house, one pro tip to bear in mind: order the small fries. I ordered Five Guys on DoorDash and I would highly recommend Five Guys. I ordered a milkshake and I was nervous it would arrive melted but it didn't! It was still pretty cold and not melted. The only reason I took off a star was because my burger arrived a little cold but this wasn't too much of a problem and I was able to heat it up. We ordered the food 25 minutes in advance for a 5:15pm pick up, when their website said it would be ready in 8 minutes (if we wanted immediate pick up). 5:30pm and the food is STILL not ready. Finally ready at 5:33pm for an order placed at 4:50pm. I can understand they may be short staffed, but why then did the website say it could have only taken 8 minutes, when they knew that was a lie. I am sick and tired of companies lying on their websites about that things will be ready at one time when they CLEARLY know it won't be. That's Corporate misfeasance. I took off one star because my butt was cold from the cold metal chairs and my fingers never warmed up the whole time I was eating. Yes, it's Minnesota and 20°, but still. My burger was 8/10, I got a small bacon cheeseburger with fried onions and fried mushrooms. I prefer a juicer burger. My son had a bacon cheeseburger, he says 5/5. Fries 4/5. My husband is at 5/5 for both his bacon cheeseburger and fries. My daughter had a chocolate milkshake and rated that 9/10. Free peanuts were a nice touch. He gets lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and mushrooms On two different occasions I brought the takeout order home and the burger had no toppings. If you are a caregiver of autism you understand how big of a deal this can be. For a $20 burger meal you'd think it would at least come as you ordered it. We were nearby for another reason and hunger made us stop in. My guy had only recently had a burger at a different Five Guys location, and he's in love. We all got bacon burgers (one without cheese) and the fries. I do love their fries. They're the second-best fast food fries (Culver's is numero uno). The service was fast an friendly, though the young man at the counter had to repeat himself a few times. He was very soft spoken, so we couldn't hear him very clearly. We all got what we wanted and were happy. The shop is clean and was FREEZING. My son, who's almost always hot, was shivering. I just focused on my burger so that I wouldn't turn into an icicle. One of the worst pick up experiences I've ever had in my life. I live for being kind and sweet but your employees are the worst and most vile individuals. But ever since Waltz decided he was going to bankrupt the hospitality industry, and destroy the restaurant industry, these guys have taken his mandate to the next level. When you walk in the door some brown shirt demands to know your business. No hi welcome to five guys how can I help you. Instead, what are you here for? Then he tells you if you want to order from the menu you can go to cash register. No joke? Golly gee willikers! Will they take my money there too? You get to the counter, The jerk behind the glass is yapping on the phone to somebody. After 5 minutes of being ignored, I say oy, I'm standing in front of you, tell him to hold. When you get done with your order, Mr Brown shirt tells you to leave the building and they'll come out and bring it to you. Only he doesn't say it like that, he demanded, is that truck yours? How's that any of your business? Well you can't stay in here you're going to have to go to your vehicle and I'll bring it out to you when it's done. So I go out and sit in the truck in the cold, brown shirt brings me my food in a plastic tub, doesn't say anything at all, turns around and walks back into the store. The net net is I get home my fries are colder than a penguin's butt, our hamburgers are all squishy and sloppy now that they've been sitting in some aluminum foil for however long. I ordered from this restaurant as a special treat for my family. I used the Five Guys app directly which offers delivery. Our burgers and fries were delivered but our milkshakes were not delivered, which totally upset my kids and ruined our meal! I called the restaurant to see if they could deliver the milkshakes and the manager was rude and unhelpful. My wife had the car so I couldn't drive to the restaurant to pickup the milkshakes (which is why I paid more for delivery in the first place!). He would not arrange to have them delivered. After being rude and blaming the delivery company and saying he couldn't do anything, he eventually offered to refund the milkshakes, but hung up on me before I could confirm the refund. read more

I know its a chain...but you know whats great about this place? 1) Menu is SIMPLE 2) Consistency I have been stopping into this place since they opened. It is your traditional Five Guys menu, but it is the old style, so no shakes (I really don't mind). The food is always great. I have fallen in love with their perfect but simple fries. The fact that Five Guys cooks the patties right when you order them is awesome, making sure you can get a hot patty every time. What is also really nice about this place is that depending on your allergies and sensitivities (peanut excluded), you can have almost everything on the menu. I recently have eliminated Gluten and Dairy from my diet to see how my body reacts and the only thing I really could not order is the bun and cheese which made it so easy! Anyplace that is easy to eat when you can't have dairy is a winner in my book! read more

Every time I stop in here I'm struck by how friendly, upbeat and on the ball everyone working behind the counter is. This is in stark contrast to a competitor found in Knollwood Mall just across Hwy 7. My usual order is a "little" cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms and jalapeno peppers together with a "little" side of Cajun fries. The burger is juicy and savory. The fries overflow the cup and I typically have enough leftover to take home and add to my lunch the next day. The Cajun seasoning has a bit of punch to it but honestly contains more sodium than an average family of five needs in a week. Oh well. They have those Freestyle soft drink machines that I've come to prefer. The place is well lit and clean. This place and My Burger compete for my $$ when I want a fast food burger. read more

I have enjoyed Five Guys for some time now and this location is just a few minutes from my place. The Cities have some great burgers - no doubt - but sometimes I'm looking for the quick and juicy basics. The location is bright and clean, no frills and good burgers. I generally order the little (hardly) bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, mayo and ketchup. I'm usually take it or leave it with fries but Five Guys is my exception. The fries are ridiculously fresh, hot, crunchy and perfectly salted. I can always count on extra fry spillover looking at me from the bottom of the bag. Props! What really left me unimpressed about this particular one was the lack of tidiness and staff involvement. On two different occasions I ordered off-peak (not a busy time) and both times the food was NOT even close to being ready. They cooked the fries 5 minutes after I arrived. We came in right before the lunchtime rush and were greeted by the cashier. He was very friendly and joked around with us a bit. I went with the Bacon Cheeseburger and opted for the Cajun Fries. We grabbed a seat and didn't have to wait too long for our order to be called. The ambiance is somewhat old school diner feel. They aren't fancy and I'm OK with that; however, many tables were left uncleared (customers seem to be responsible for throwing their garbage out but spaces weren't wiped down). The floor was filthy. I attribute that in part to the numerous peanut shells scattered all over the place. You can grab a paper boat of peanuts and go town. It's fun in theory but seems out of place outside of the dive bar scene. In my opinion, you can skip the fries. They are mushy and flavorless. Even the Cajun Fries were far from impressive. I personally like fries with a bit of crispness to them. But I will say that the burger was superb. Again, it wasn't fancy, but it was a really good, basic burger. If you're looking for the kind of burger that you'd like to make for yourself on a grill, this is it! I really loved it and would eat it again. Man, this place makes some great greasy burgers when you're in the mood for one. The downside is that this store is usually gross and the staff is not friendly most of the time. Me and my Wife come here every now and then when we have a craving for a good quick Cheeseburger. We really enjoy the way the patties are prepared. They are cooked on a grill station and it gives them a great charred flavor and texture. We really like the choice of bread they use as well. The food is what you would expect from a burger bar place and that is what you get. We have never been dissapointed with the food and it always hits the spot when have a craving. The price for the food is a little expensive for fast food but we think it's a little on the better end of fast food in general. The downside to this location is the store it's self and the employees. The location is usually dirty with napkins on the ground, trash cans full, muddy floors, and uncleaned table tops. We really dread going in here for the food because we don't know how sanitary the place really is. This is the only location near us though. The second worse part is the employees. We have never had a great interaction with any of them. We never get greated, ask what we want, they always have a glazed look in their eyes, they don't answer you if you have questions, and many other flaws. We have been here when a rush as came in and one of the employees openly starting talking about how he hated that customers came in loud enough for us to here. We have also been there when it was close to closing time and they locked the doors 10 minutes early to lock out customers. Overall they really need better employees or better training. In the end this is a place to get a good burger on the go. It's sometimes fun to watch the people cook your burgers when they're not yelling at how much they hate customers being there. The store and experiences here are really lacking but if you get your burgers to go you'll have a better experience. read more

When I want a really great burger, I know that I can come here and get one! I have what I get perfected down to the exact toppings now! I get a double cheeseburger with mayo, ketchup, mustard and fried mushrooms! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water for another one! This location opened literally the week that I moved to Hopkins, and I have never had an issue here-the staff seems friendly and our food has always been right. It was a beautiful, warm summer evening when I strolled in for my first Five Guys experience. It was a Monday, so only one table was taken. "Foxy Lady" was playing and the table's two occupants glanced up as I entered. They were both old enough to be my grandmother. The menu is simple and straightforward. I placed my order and grabbed some peanuts as "Crazy Train" began to play. I chose my beverage and sat down at an open table. There weren't a lot to choose from because it's not a big place. I could see the little old ladies, but wasn't close enough to hear their conversation. I ate my peanuts to "Comfortably Numb" as I waited for my food and watched the ladies gesticulate at one another. By the time my food was ready, nearly every table was full and "Burning Down The House" was on. The burger and fries were both good. With Everything, the burger gets a bit messy, but that's a minor issue. The salad that fell out of my burger made a good second course. And a little Cheap Trick came on as the ladies wrapped up the other half of their split burger and put it in their purses. The the one said to the other, "I have a coupon, are you ready to go to the movies?" As they left, "Born to be Wild" came on and I finished my meal.
