    Abundance of fries

While the stores, uniform and cookie-cutter though they may be, are routinely cold, they feel relatively clean. They bus the tables and sweep the floors, and the restrooms are reasonably attended to. Dining here is fine - but the food is the thing. Better than ordinary fast food, it does not rise to the next-level eminence of its obvious inspiration, In-N-Out Burger, but it's close. I mean, physically close. Five Guys is all over the Twin Cities. Seemingly thousands of identical locations. One must stay indoors to avoid them. But the food is worth the trip. They'll customize a burger any way you'd like and they make a mean shake. The fries are actually the star. Hand cut in house, one pro tip to bear in mind: order the small fries. It feeds a family of four. (Or does it feed Five Guys?) A bit salty, so add some pepper for balance. All-in, this is about as good as fast food gets.

I ordered Five Guys on DoorDash and I would highly recommend Five Guys. I ordered a milkshake and I was nervous it would arrive melted but it didn't! It was still pretty cold and not melted. The only reason I took off a star was because my burger arrived a little cold but this wasn't too much of a problem and I was able to heat it up. Everything else was exactly what you would expect from a Five Guys burger. And HIGHLY recommend their shakes.

Normally reliable Five Guys messed up. We ordered the food 25 minutes in advance for a 5:15pm pick up, when their website said it would be ready in 8 minutes (if we wanted immediate pick up). 5:30pm and the food is STILL not ready. Finally ready at 5:33pm for an order placed at 4:50pm. I can understand they may be short staffed, but why then did the website say it could have only taken 8 minutes, when they knew that was a lie. I am sick and tired of companies lying on their websites about that things will be ready at one time when they CLEARLY know it won't be. That's Corporate misfeasance. Unfortunately it made me and my family late for an event.

The burgers are smash burgers. We did with they had a bit more seasoning but with all the toppings on the burger and dipping them into the fry sauce, they were delicious. Get the onion rings and fries!! They are both AMAZING!! You can either order on a tablet or with a person (love that there was a choice!) and everyone seemed genuinely happy and friendly! The vibes here were cool! They can basically open all the walls up and there is a patio, complete with 2 area fire pits! This place does have alcohol, so grab a drink or milk shake and enjoy the outdoor space!

There were multiple types of tables and seats to choose from. We chose to order on the tablet rather than wait in line to order. The experience using Toast on the tablet was smooth. We got our order numbers and it was easy to keep an eye on the screen to see when the orders would be ready. We also received text notifications. This all happened very quickly! One thing we noticed was that when they called out order numbers, it was fairly loud for the amount of people there at the time. The burger (wagyu brisket jalapeño) and hot honey crispy chicken sandwich that we got were both delicious and just as expected! I loved the shoestring fries since that's my favorite kind of fry. I also thought the fry sauce was the best balance of sweet and tangy. We ordered dessert at the table using the provided QR code and again were able to track when our orders would be ready on the screen. The regular shake and small soft serve cup were the same size - the pictures made it seem like the shake would be bigger but that didn't bother us, just worth noting. I loved the fudge and Oreo crumble on the soft serve! Overall just a solid spot to hangout and have a good burger, fries, and dessert! I'll definitely be back.

The food is just as impressive, with a great variety of options. This visit, our group started with the Brussels sprouts, then ordered the Wednesday "Whole Damn Bird" special, the Bourbon Peach & Steak Salad, and the Thai Basil Bowl. Every dish was delicious, and I'd happily order any of them again. Overall, another fantastic meal. I can't wait to come back to check out their brunch and lunch menus!

There is plenty of street and private lot parking both in their attached small lot but also numerous spaces in the larger lot across the street. I would just use caution crossing the street as it is an uncontrolled intersection and crosswalk to get to it and it is a road that tends to invite speeding and a lack of attention looking for pedestrians. There is a full bar with several house inspired cocktails as well as a moderately large beer list available by UPC. The menu has good variety of items that lean towards churched up comfort pub food. Think Salads, Brisket Grilled Cheese and Broasted Chicken and you will be in the sweet spot genre. The chicken is outstanding! On Wednesday nights, they have Bingo with Chicken on special which was a surprise discovery for me. The gaming was really fun and the meal was awesome and cheaper than expected. That is a win-win in my book! The Block is definitely a solid spot for a casual tavern sort of pick with food and drink that is good and in some cases, borders on great (such as the chicken)! It is a really nice addition to the local dining scene in this area that does not have a lot of good, unique eateries. I recommend giving it a try and, like me, I think you will be back again and again.

The atmosphere is bright, cheery, and enthusiastic -- although perhaps a bit loud. But then again, it's a sports bar with more televisions than Best Buy. The service was extremely friendly, professional, and competent. All of the waitstaff were hard working and very attentive. Our waitress can around often to bring pop refills and to check on us. The food was typical sports bar faire, but well done. We did not go for the July Bloody Mary of the month ($30!) (see photos), which came with more food than a full day's outing at the Minnesota State Fair. Instead, my wife had been and the Jumbo Bacon Cheddar Chive Tots ($13), which were filling and tasty. The tots were stuffed with bacon, cheddar cheese and chive, and served with aioli. I had the Traditional Bone-in Wings ($16.50) with two sauces - sweet chili, and sticky garlic gochujang. Although both were flavorful, my personal preference was for the sweet chili. All of the wings were juicy and cooked well. I also upgraded to a very large portion of beer battered fries, which were shoe-strong fries. They were cooked well - not greasy or overcooked and very tasty. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal.

Back to Pink Ivy. The service is quality. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. The reservation policy may seem "strict", but if you can live with needing to provide a 24 cancel notice, I think you will find the service is good because the business doesn't get slammed by unexpected high demand. Wait person timing was off a tad when we first sat down. It felt a little rushed as we order our drinks and considered a starter. In fairness, a table of 16-20 followed us in so the wait person may have been doing us a favor. But it did influence my four star rating. Otherwise I'd have given 5 stars. Great care was taken when wait person checked for allergies. Not just asked, but noted and went to the kitchen to confirm. During the meal, flatware was changed out between courses, water refilled without disruption and the order arrived on time and all at one time. Our group enjoyed the halibut, salmon, and chicken bacon meatball items. Everyone loved their meals. A few of us ordered and split salads. We passed on desserts. The menu range may not be pages long, but all the usual suspects are there; salads, fish, poultry, beef, and pasta. And I know the chef rotates items on the menu. I encourage you to plan ahead. Reservations fill up days in advance. I think you'll find it worth the extra planning. PS my ratings are adjusted for the type of venue. These are not Michelin stars.
