Going to Five Guys reminded me of being an 8yr old at Christmas wanting a new bike, and getting a subscription to National Geographic instead. It isn't what I wanted, I threw a tantrum, and then stormed out of the room in a huff. For years I have been hearing about the orgasmic pleasures that could be had at a Five Guys Burger. As I was on a quick lunch break it was only possible to get a burger and not the fries, so it is likely that this might have been a 4 star review if the fries are as good as people tell me. Having ordered a burger with "Everything", as the menu informed me, it would come with mayo, grilled onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, ketchup and mustard. The additional toppings were by request only, which was good, because I didn't want them for my first Five Guys experience. The good: burger patties (cooked to well, yet still very moist and juicy), grilled mushrooms (nice touch as a standard topping) The bad: bun crumbly (didn't hold up to all of the toppings), grilled onions (tasted like raw onions soaked in boiling water, none of that sticky sweet goodness that grilled onions should be), cashier (for deciding that her menu says "Everything" includes EVERYTHING on the topping list, even if it isn't requested, which made for a pile of slop, and not the taste that I wanted) After finishing my review, maybe this was better than National Geographic, but not quite as good as getting a baseball glove, and definitely no bike dammit! After my ex got so hyped about this place, we just had to try it. So we went. The cajun fries were a bit bland. Nothing cajun except maybe the paper bag it was in. I thought there'd be more flavor to it, but nope wasn't impressed. The burger itself was average. I didn't taste anything different about it, at least nothing that would have me raving over it and making every person i know try it out. However mine came out super sloppy and fell apart because again it was just stuffed into that paper bag to let soak through. I think the presentation of food could be improved. Forget the paper bag and just leave it on a tray. If you're gonna call fries cajun fries better spice it up and add some flavor. The burgers aren't extraordinary, they're mediocre. Will never go here again! Was craving 5 Guys. First off noticed the prices have gone up, burgers no longer under six dollars. $10.00 for a bacon cheeseburger. Got 3 burgers and one order of fries, one drink , $30. Takeout. Told the girl I wanted grilled onions and "all the rest of the free stuff".. get home, nothing in the burgers but grilled onions. I call and they said all burgers come plain, you have to ask for condiments. As anyone who reads my reviews will tell you, I pride myself on appraising the total dining experience. From time to time, I have even considered parking convenience in my reviews. Usually though, I focus on the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Interestingly, my latest rant only indirectly relates to one of these three categories. Over the past year or so, I have found it necessary to address price. Overall value should be important to everyone. After all, I'm only a high school biology teacher. There are some places I simply can't afford to patronize often. With that said, I would like to review the Five Guys Burger and Fries restaurant off of Limonite on the east side of the 15 Freeway. I will begin with the atmosphere. Five Guys is a simple place. A cramped dining area with tables that are far too close together really stand out. This is not overly noticeable when the place is empty, but when the place is full, there is hardly any room to eat, let alone wait to pick up your "to go" order. As far as the service is concerned, I was very pleased. A very nice staff with lots of smiles. They work fast and I would be proud to have them work for me. I was even offered extra fries....what???? That's right...I said OFFERED. That was very nice of them. The people seemed happy to work there, and that is always one quality indicator of good service and a quality staff. The food here is exceptional. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with an extra patty. I enjoyed pickles, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and barbecue sauce. Pssst...this is an AWESOME combination by the way. The burger was hot, juicy and was all around amazing. As mentioned before, I had a ton of Cajun fries. They were good but they needed salt. A bit of ranch dressing would have made them even better. The large soda was a smaller cup than I am used too. Perhaps they should offer an XXlarge soda. They offer free peanuts which is a nice touch and the coke mix drink machine is always popular with kids and adults as well. So why only 3 stars? The PRICE!!!! I understand that you can't have something for nothing and good food should always cost a bit extra. Naturally, better ingredients are more expensive. BUT, for just 1 big burger, regular fries, a large drink and another drink for my son (he had no burger and shared my fries) was 17 DOLLARS!!! Correct, that is no typo. I can actually eat at Slaters 50/50 for that much and get a Maple Bacon Milkshake to go with it. Further, 17 Dollars can buy you nearly 5 Double-Doubles. So, although the burger was fantastic, it wasn't 17 dollars fantastic. I am still an In-n-Out fan, and, because of the price will be forced to stay that way I suppose. If your in the mood for a great flavorful burger this is the place their hamburgers are so good they are always cooked well done I have never had a problem with uncooked burgers they are very generous with their fries as well soo good... Every time I walk in I'm greeted and the service is good. The staff seems like they enjoy their jobs and it shows in the atmosphere. Peanuts on the floor. 2 star rating is because the food isn't as good as the one in Orange. 6 people in our group. all with wrong orders or missing toppings. The worst part is all of our burgers were so soggy! I mean soaking wet! It was disgusting!! We ate them (or attempted to) at the restaurant and right away so I'm not sure why they were so soggy. I think five guys is way better than in-n-out for starters. This location in particular in my opinion is outstanding the food is always excellent, the staff is always nice to me and gets my food out quick with the best quality. I get a burger and a hotdog and I'm always satisfied. They also have the drink machine with many different drinks and flavors sort of a cherry on top. Oh and they have peanuts while you wait. If you go to in-n-out you'll wait in a long line with no peanuts and no vanilla coke. I'll stick with five guys! read more

Well, no Dr. Pepper, (sad face). This was my first trip to Five Guys since I was suggested to come here so many times. I got a Bacon Cheese burger with an extra patty. The fries, I asked for them well done, and a normal drink. First impression after paying was that it's REALLY expensive. $13 + for that is kinda insane. When I got my burger it looked real tasty, the fries kinda lacked taste maybe I had gotten a bad batch or something cause I've heard so many rave about their fries. The burger though, was delicious, the bacon was crispy and complemented everything, compared to everywhere else the bacon is soggy. Props for crispy bacon the right way! All in all I enjoyed it but had to bump it down to 3 stars for the price and the fries. read more

My review of 5 Guys Burgers and Fries has been a long time coming. A few years ago you could hear whispers of this place and how they would revolutionize the fast food burger industry. Well lately 5 Guys Burgers and Fries has gone beyond a whisper and has become pretty popular in the Southern California Region (Perhaps many other areas as well and I don't care). This review is an overall 5 Guy Burgers and Fries and not so much specific to the Mira Loma Location, where I went. Since the Subway pioneered the "Eat Fresh" way of fast-food, American society is obsessed with eating fresh, so much so that we tolerate standing in long lines for "Fast" food. Somehow choosing every detail about your sandwich, burrito and now burger makes fresh. 5 Guys takes this concept and adapts it to the fast food burger industry. McD's has the big Mac. Carls Jr. has the double western. Jack in the box has....I don't know what they have but the point I am trying to make is there are pretty standard burger "types" that we have been happy with for the last 60+ years. Luckily we don't live in a communist society and we have the freedom to modify them as we please. As I once heard a co-worker say, "I want a cheeseburger with No cheese". 5 guys Burgers and Fries basically leave a blank canvas and let you choose the topping. 1, 2, 3..8 toppings it all costs the same (Other than bacon or cheese). Depending on one's taste buds, mood, creativity you are at your own free will to create the best burger you have ever had or the worst or what you would have gotten at any other fast food burger establishment. Other than grilled mushrooms and steak sauce and maybe a few other items they really didn't have anything out of the ordinary that any other standard burger joint doesn't already use. I'm easily excitable, so I maintained my calm and didn't get too crazy when choosing my toppings. As much as the steak sauce kept looking at me, calling my name, calling me names I stayed focused on making a good burger, not so much a unique one. I went with the bacon cheeseburger version. I added lettuce (They don't have an option for shredded lettuce, this is not forgivable), tomato, onions, grilled mushrooms, mayo and mustard. As far as I can tell they really don't have any option for a combo so everything is full price. I also got some fries and a drink. I'll be honest my real beef (Pun intended) isn't with the beef, it was actually really good. They grill it just right, a crust on the outside yet still warm and moist on the inside, very tasty. Also, I don't mean to brag or nothing but I hooked my burger up, tasted pretty F'n good. My only one real complaint about 5 Guys is the price. I was in shock when I paid $12 something for bacon cheeseburger combo. Like I said, the burger was good. The fries were about average and the drink well it's a drink. I have had better for a lot less. In fact, I have had a 1 pound burger combo for less. I would have been better off driving to LA's "Original Texas BBQ King", getting the King's burger (1lb burger) combo and still would have spent less, gas included. I've been to several Five Guys locations on both coasts and this review could be copied and pasted onto all of their Yelp pages. The only difference between any of them is how they handle their peanut shells. Some locations let them remain on the floor so that people know they can leave them however they like. Other locations sweep them up constantly and it leaves people confused and self conscious about leaving them anywhere. I don't mind either way, but I've never seen any uniformity. This particular location happens to be the latter. But as for every Five Guys that I have been to I can say this: The burgers lack any sort of flavor in themselves. People compare this establishment to In-N-Out constantly and some feel it's unfair to do so for whatever reason. Because Five Guys came later and designed their stores with the same colors and hype their burgers then it's kind of necessary to compare the two, burger for burger. Whether or not anyone agrees, I personally feel that In-N-Out's burgers are superior. Every Five Guys I've been to has tasted the same and all of them have fallen short. The burgers are bland on their own and I have tried to add toppings in order to bring out the flavor to no avail. Possibly because they cook all of the onions and mushrooms on the same griddle, it could be the reason why everything blends to gather as far as taste is concerned, even the bacon doesn't do anything for the burger. The only thing that I have had on the burger that has had any discernible flavor would be ketchup, mustard or barbecue sauce. Usually adding sauces is a last resort, unfortunately that was the case for me. Not only do the burgers lack flavor, the patties have very little structural integrity. Every time I've eaten one of their burgers it has fallen apart before I could finish i and I've had to eat the last of it by scooping it up with my fingers or with a fork. Another inconvenience of this place is the fries. Yes it's very cool and different to dump a bunch of extra fries into the bag so that you feel like you're getting more than you paid for, but by the time you get home the grease from the fries has soaked through the bag and possibly left a stain on the seat of the car or on your pants or skirt if you had the bag in your lap on the way home. Not only have the fries soaked through the bag, but they've stained the entire wad of napkins that were placed on top of everything in the bag and they are now useless. Another downside of Five Guys is the price. Unless you want nothing but a patty on a bun, you're looking at paying at least $6 for one burger by itself where the same burger at In-N-Out is half that with better flavor. We ordered two burgers, an order of fries to share and two small drinks and it came out to over $25. I'm giving two stars because even though I really do not prefer to eat here, the staff at all of the locations are very kind and will happily make conversation while you're waiting for your food. #25/100 read more

I ordered a large Cajun fry. Sat and waited 21 minutes as several other guests came in, ordered, and received their food ahead of me.
