I really enjoyed Five Guys in Lakewood. It has an efficient crew and my sandwich was delicious. I requested chopped mushroom and they actually chopped them. It was wonderful and I enjoyed the sandwich next time. I will not ask for cheese. I was able to peel it off. The sandwich was lovely. I don't like the shape of mushrooms, but I can eat them chopped. Yeah it's strange but it's good anyway. The fries were hot and I requested lite salt and everything was wonderful. I can hardly wait to go back.

I came here for the first time with my boyfriend and immediately when we walked in there was a really weird vibe with the two workers and an awful smell in the inside of this place. We ordered and as we were they kept laughing and giggling as we were ordering, felt very unprofessional. Everything feels dirty and just not clean whatsoever. This was my first visit so I didn't get the best first impression. As for the food, not the best not the worst, this wouldn't be my first pick of food choice though. Overall wouldn't recommend coming here as I will do the same thing.

Five Guys is mainly known for their hamburgers, but I tried their hot dog for the first time, and I was impressed. I did not realized that the lowly hot dog is entitled to the same free option of toppings as the burger, and I loaded mine with grilled onion, grilled mushroom, ketchup and mustard. I think pickles would go well with the hot dog too. It took less time for the hot dog to be grilled, and it's sliced in half to expose more surface for the grilling. Everything came together nicely.

I decided to give this place a try after hearing some hype. Normally, I stick with a classic In-N-Out because you really can't go wrong there, but I wanted to see what all the buzz was about. I ordered a junior cheeseburger with the works, including mushrooms, and spent $14. While I'll admit the burger had a good flavor, it definitely didn't live up to my expectations--especially at that price point. If the burger were half the price, maybe I'd consider giving it another shot. But at this price, I don't think I'll be back.

The burgers here are made to order, with your choice of toppings. They are also really good burgers. They don't have shakes, which is a drag. But, as I understand it, they don't have freezers either. While the food is good, the lack of shakes is a drag for the pure burger experience. The place has a 50s burger-diner vibe. The free peanuts and peanut-laden floor is part of the deal, and it's cool. The food is cooked to order. The servers are friendly. The food comes up in a reasonable time, depending on how busy they are. I like 5 Guys. But they're a one trick pony, and shakes aren't part of the trick. That means I can't give them 5 stars. But the burgers and fries are really good.

Little Cheeseburger. They forgot to train the new hire that pickles and lettuce goes inside the Burger, not on top.

So I haven't been to five guys before but my fiancé was always raving about how good it was. We decided to order take-out. Highlight of my burger: *Texture: Massively soggy *Flavor: Average. *Presentation: Pickles and Lettuce were literally on top of the Burger, instead of inside. Even untrained employees could get this right. ‍ *Other / Misc: Considering, I only order one item, the review is based on my only experience. But the order was so bad, I wouldn't waste my time with a second chance. I could just go to Burger King if I wanted a soggy burger. At least they get the lettuce and pickle in the right spot.

JENNIFER made our visit so much more happier. We called in our order ahead of time and her voice was so pleasant and genuine! It made my heart happy! Her service is also the bomb and everything came out in a timely manner hot and fresh! I also have to mention that new combo choice is amazing! We used to only come once in awhile as a treat, but with this new combo price, it makes it more affordable for us to come more often. So I def see us coming more often in the future! Thanx for the experience Jennifer!

Okay well the amount you spend is not worth it but to say you are here and did it yes! Burgers are expensive and everything is an add on. You are better off going to your backyard make homemade burgers for what you spend here. Or going to a charbroiled quality fast food burger place like TaMS or Famous Stars or idk somewhere. But the quality of burger I have to admit yes ****(4) Fries are great also **** (4) Customer Service meh -***(3))

Cajon fries..

Some of the best burgers i had! I like them better than the rest of the chain burger places! They fry the items in peanut oil. The burgers are straight up delicious. The cajon fries are good also! They put alot of seasoning on them but so good! They only have outside seating. About 4 tables with 4 seats! No inside seating due to covid. I don't eat here as often as i want because 5-guys is pretty expansive! lol. A double burger and small fries almost $20 bucks. That is the only downfall as i would eat here more if it wasn't for the pricy burgers. The online ordering and pickup works great. No problem getting my food and out the store. Parking is no issue here as they share the spot with other vendors in the parking lot across from the lakewood mall on the target side!

Little burger. Little fries. Little drink. Big price $19

Expensive mediocrity. Little cheeseburger, little fries, little coke - big bill: $19. Yep $19. I figured this would be good and well-worth the cost. Nope. The burger patty felt loose - like someone just tossed some ground beef together but didn't press it. A good burger usually has a bit of a chew to them. Meat was overly greasy, but I was told that's kinda their thing. Tomatoes were mushy. Lettuce was fine. The bun tasted like the same low-quality airy buns from the supermarket. So yeah it's mediocre, at best. You're better off at the burger king a block away. The fries were the stars. These were thick fries that were well seasoned and quite tasty. Crispy on the outside yet fluffy inside with generous portions. Great job!

Disgusting toppings I was given
Jen B.

Ordered delivery from here Friday night, absolute garbage. $13 for a "burger in a box", which we already know is WAY overpriced. However, when i order 3 condiments as toppings, and your inept employees only put one in the bag, and then check the photos for the DISGUSTING state of the tomato and lettuce your employees had the gall to put on, it's actually insulting. Yellowing tomatoes, and pale, wilted, wet lettuce. I'll include pics of my OWN veggies I had at home that I had to use, because not only did yours look unappetizing, they looked as if they would make me ill if I ate them. So I paid $13 for a less than mediocre patty because the people that work here don't care that they churn out trash, and based on the reviews the OWNER doesn't care to fix the state of the business either...

Large Chili cheese fries costs $12.14 at the time of this writing. Chili and cheese make a perfect combo. Not too salty either. You can see some greasy layer on top, so dont expect anything healthy. The cheese hits different and isnt generic Kraft cheese you can get at the store in case you were wondering, "we have cheese at home." It's nothing like what you can buy at the grocery store. It is worth the extra dollar. Service was quick. Friendly cashier. Practically empty restaurant inside since most people use the drive thru or order to go. I would buy again. Their fries are peak.

It reminds me of my childhood in the best way. There's just something about a classic burger with that Thousand Island spread that you don't find everywhere anymore. My go-to order is the bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries, and it never disappoints. The flavors are exactly what you want, simple, satisfying, and consistently good. I always get a side of ranch too, which just takes everything up a notch. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. If I'm taking it to go, I like to get the lettuce and tomato on the side so the burger doesn't get soggy, I definitely recommend doing that. Price-wise, it is a little on the higher side for a burger and fries combo, but honestly, the quality and taste make it worth it. It's one of those spots you go to when you want something you know is going to be good every time.

Black Market Burger is a street food vendor specializing in smash burgers and it can currently be…read morefound on Thursdays through Sundays from the afternoon through evening at the Sams Club Gas Station by Long Beach Towne Center. According to their website, they also make appearances at Breweries and Food events, so you may see them out and about. It popped up on my radar through yelp and I wanted to check it out as a local. I had their "black market burger", which was a double smash burger on a grill top with grilled onions and on a potato bun. They mentioned that their fries are cooked in duck fat, which typically gives a savory flavor to fries that you don't get in seed oils. They also mentioned their "new school american cheese" is new school because it's real cheese, but it tastes and melts like the American cheese. They were friendly and they brought it to my car as soon as my order was ready. I think that this burger would be nice with a beer at a brewery and, if you check out their website, then you could see when/where that happens. As it stands, I enjoyed their namesake burger and fries; however, I'd probably want to go with one of their more dressed up burgers or chili fries and I'd BYOB if I were to come back to see them at LB Towne Center, which has no less than a half dozen options for burgers. I definitely respect the grind. If you do come to check it out, check their hours before you head over to the gas station or check their website to go to their appearances at local breweries (which is probably how I'd rather have it). I hope they consider going to busier food events where their offerings can be paired with other food experiences. Soft drink options would also be nice. Again - I respect the grind and think that if you want to try a double smash burger on a potato bun, then you should consider giving it a shot.

They were at Long Beach FC's game at Cabrillo Jaguars Stadium & were so thoughtful to have planned to stay open well after the game ended so that the players & staff would be able to enjoy a burger too. The owner was likable and very patient. He reassured me that I wasn't in a rush to order. (My boyfriend is one of the founders of the team so when I sent him a photo of the menu, I realized he won't reply til he has time & the game had just ended and he has to help take down everything.) We ordered the black market burger, the shady Swiss, and the bootlegger fries. Everything was phenomenal! I actually ordered my Swiss burger mainly for my boyfriend to try, because he likes mushrooms and I do not, but to my surprise I scarfed down the burger within minutes! That potato bun, the garlic aioli, the patty itself-oh my goodness-heaven. The burger was packed plenty with mushrooms & I enjoyed it all. I ordered the fries because I saw that they were thick cut and after hearing they were cooked in duck fat made me intrigued to see what the difference in taste would be & I was beyond impressed. They were just cooked to perfection with the perfect ratio from crispy crunchy goodness to the soft potato filling. My initial plan on the fries was to share half with my boyfriend (he only ordered the burger anyway), but my lack of discipline left him with just 1/4 of the fries He finally was able to eat 30 minutes after I received the food and his immediate reaction to biting into the burger was that it was really good! When he tried the fries he was impressed that they were still crispy and enjoyed the fries as much as I did. I wish they were coming back to next week's game, but I will definitely be there for every game they're popping up at (and to support my bf's team ofc ) .

I love the grilled onions on top. We usually eat it from the top to the bottom, so we usually don't get much sauce or toppings when we get to the bottom. I think it's meant to be mixed, but we don't want it to get mushy. The be sliders were good. The patty, sauce, and grilled onions were good. The Ube bread didn't have much Ube taste to us (imo). And I felt like I was getting more bread than the actually patty and what was inside the burger. I felt like I could have used more sauce to soften up the dry texture I get from the bed. But overall it was good. This place is located inside the Steelcraft so it has a nice, chill ambiance. The place can get busy, especially when they are showing games. The evening started off strong, as we stopped by during Hoppy Hour (around 9ish). There wasn't a wait, and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated right away. The front staff was nice and polite. She gave us the option of either a tall round table or a shorter rectangular table. We of course, opted for the slightly shorter (height-wise) rectangular table. Once we were seated, we were given the menu, and the waitress told us that we would be right with us. She stopped by to ask about drinks, and we opted for water. She dropped off water and came back with perfect timing because by then we were ready to order. I also love the simplicity of the menu. There really aren't too many options where you feel overwhelmed, but there are still enough choices to pick from. Shout out to the pastrami quesadilla, I didn't realize it had been swapped for a new menu item until I asked about it this time around, but I'll be waiting for its comeback! We ordered a few items: the mac and cheese balls, the Wagyu bone marrow burger with truffle fries, and a double smash burger with ribbed finger potatoes. We had to get the mac and cheese balls since it was Hoppy Hour! I also didn't realize that on Wednesdays, the double smash burgers are half off. I'll definitely remember that for next time. After we ordered, the food came out quicker than I expected. It was a nice surprise. I think the first item came out about 10 minutes after our initial order. The mac and cheese balls came out hot, which was great. The breading made them super crispy and gave a nice crunch that balanced really well with the softer, chewier mac and cheese inside. I was glad the inside wasn't too runny since that would have made it like lava! I didn't see a cheese pull this time, but next time I'll try again to see if I can catch one. It was a great start to the meal. The burgers came out shortly after we finished the mac and cheese balls. I totally forgot that the truffle fries came with sauce. I should have asked for the sauce on the side, but it wasn't a problem that it was added on top of the fries. It just made them get soggy a bit faster, but that's no problem; it just means I've got to work faster! The burger was good and came out super juicy. I asked for it medium, and it looked about medium, so no complaints here! I never realized before, but the bread was so fluffy... it was a super pillowy bun with a nice bounce to it. It definitely helped balance out the meatiness of the patty. The hint of tomato gave it a nice, refreshing bite and really helped cut through the richness of the meat. The onions also added a nice sweetness to the burger, which was appreciated. I also snuck a bite of the ribbed potatoes, and they were good as well. They were a bit crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside, with just a touch of saltiness. I also stole a pickle from the double smash and realized I probably should have asked for pickles on my burger, but I'll remember that for my next visit!
