This was a terrible experience from beginning to end, and I honestly normally would not rip a business apart like this but this was absolutely terrible. It's one thing too pay 24.79 for 2 burgers and a small fry when the quality is worth it, but it's a whole other thing to pay that price and receive burnt to a crisp fries and sloppy put together burgers . That alone would not make me post a review like this, what came next is what I just can not let slide. The sun was shining very bright at this location the time I was there approximately 4:15. That being said I opted to head to the back corner of the restaurant where the sun was not hitting my eyes. Two employees came out of the kitchen to the table next to mine and were legitimately SHOUTING about nonsense. Talking about lottery tickets and winning a "Dub" the conversation is beside the point. The main issue was these employees were talking at such a high volume that my girlfriend and I opted to move back to the front of the restaurant so that we could hear each other talk. However the shouting did not subside, all 7 crew members continued the extreme unprofessional conversation at once again a very unacceptable volume. Two employees even began arguing with each other about "who dropped the damn fries" that I had brought back to the counter because they were brown. The Emperor has no clothes. Went there about a week ago on a Friday evening methinks. Had not been to this location over a year. Knew it was a premium price for what is supposedly a premium product. Well, the price is still premium. The product and ambiance; Wendys and Burger King are better. Firstly, place is dingy, dimly lit, and disorganized. Second, ordering process is arachaeic, even in these COVID times. Third, while I was quite specific with order, could see as they were preparing it they put cheese on. Told the prep person and she put it aside and ordered a new one made. Put my fries which she had taken out aside (not under any heat lamp) while new one made. When the 2nd burger was ready, was getting ready to package it with now cold fries. Told her 'no' and she grudgingly gave me new and hopefully warm(er) fries. Fourth, noticed they have no demarked lines for social distancing and what is worse, open flouting of mask rules; both by staff and customers. Fifth, as I left the resatuarant, a large SUV was blocking he only ingress and egress into parking lot. Thought of forgetfully keying it but did not. Sixth as I got into my car, saw three people come in with NO masks and their order being taken. (we have a strict indoor mask policy in Illinois). Seventh, when I got home, order still not right; some of condiments left off. Eighth, over a week ago wrote all this to 5Guys on their website. Got NO response. Simply put: 5Guys is on my endangered species list. Adios. I've been to this franchise a few times before at various locations and I've always had good food here. The quality of the burger is so supreme and the flavor is so authentic. I appreciate the freshness of the food and how they make it on the spot. There's so many different toppings and different sizes to choose from too. For a bacon cheeseburger, it's about $8. Some might say it's pricey, but I personally think you pay for the quality of it. The reason I chose to yelp about this location in particular is because of the service provided and the enthusiastic employees. I believe the guy's name was Trinity. So we ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a large Cajun fries. Mistakenly, the guy who prepared the gave us a small. I went back up to the counter and asked for my order to be corrected. He let me keep my fries, gave me nearly an entire bag of fries. It was a ridiculous amount (I wasn't complaining though lol). He then proceeded to give large fries to the other customers as well. Another guy was so kind to even serve us a lot of ketchup (my cousins and I are heavy dippers lol). Like what, table service at a semi fast food? That was so nice. And throughout all of this, the employees had a smile on. Not once did they give anyone a hard time. I saw them laughing and talking to other customers too. So I have never been. I'm late to the party for sure. We decided to grab a good burger and didn't want to "dress up" and go out of the neighborhood. So we chose here. Boy I'm glad we did. At first I was a little surprised at the prices for a fast food type place. But after I saw what care the worker took making my burger and how delicious it was. I'm not surprised. I had the bacon cheeseburger and fries and a coke. The Burger condiments were fresh and layered so that every bite had all the components. Exactly what I love in a good burger. The fries with skin are not my favorite in general, I'm a crinkle cut girl, but these were solid. I was especially happy to see they had malt vinegar. I love that on fries. I love five guys food! It is probably one of the best chain burger and fries around. I do not normally write chain reviews because they are mostly cookie-cutter replications of one another. This location stands out in my head! The staff here is some of the best around. They all look like they are always having fun and I know they don't know me from the next guy, they all treat me like I am their friend. That makes a huge difference when making a decision on where I want to go eat. **Food order incorrect after waiting a long time** Unfortunately, that's how I have start this review. I ordered the mini Bacon Cheeseburger and waited 10 minutes to get it. Walked out, started my drive, and took my first bite. It was good, but was missing the bacon! Drove back, told them about bacon and the person says, "do you want another one?" I was thinking to myself, absolutely! As I was waiting for the new burger, one of the other guys walks over and tells me to throw away the burger. I did. Then the first guy says, "you could've eaten that." Ugh... Eventually, the burger made it my way. The cook upgraded me to a double, which was nice. I asked the guy on fries to give me new fries since I was waiting so long. I asked him for only a handful, but he was very generous. This would have been a rating of zero or one had it not been for the paragraph above. Overall, I wouldn't recommend Five Guys. Actually, Burger King is a much better burgers at half the price. A mini, plus small fries, plus small drink cost me $11 at Five Guys. That's ridiculous. I would also try a place called Burger Joint if you want a great burger. The person at the register was wonderful!! I haven't got my food yet but its five guys so it's gonna be awesome! Bacon cheeseburger, all the way with jalapenos, regular fry and a large drink! It's not healthy, good for you or in my regular diet but it's so f%$#ing awesome!! Five Guys is my go to burger, and since I only eat red meat once every few months I think that says it all. You can come here, get a great burger, eat, go into a food coma and continue with your day or you can still be waiting in line to spend more money on an over-hyped burger at one of those gourmet burger places. I am not a big fan of their burgers because they are just too much for me. I feel like the burger is over powering me at times. Christopher brought home burgers for the 3 of us a while back. I don't think any of us finished it. I know it is cool to get a big bang for the buck feeling, but it became cloying after a while. Christopher is a big fan of the peanuts when he goes there. Wanted to try out the place with friends. All four of us have never had Five Guys and were curious... curiousity killed our taste buds. I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce tomatoes and green peppers but got jalapeños instead of green peppers. I didn't mind at first glance because I'm not sensitive to hot foods. I also purchased a small fry. The fries were bland and not evenly fried. Got a few raw fries (it seemed that i wasn't the only one with the bad fries as my friends had the same issue with their fries). Now going back to the cheeseburger, the bun was extremely soggy. I couldn't take more than 2 bites of the burger. I almost threw up in my mouth. What a horrible experience. We all agree that Meatheads (which isn't too far from this place is 100X better). Drove away with my order, opened the burger, saw it was a double burger - which there's no indication of that on menu, took 1 patty off, and saw that the bottom bun was saturated soggy with grease. The fries were greasy but good. Ate about 1/4 of the burger and threw it all out. As the workday went on, I felt sicker and sicker. Turns out they had given away our food to someone else. The worker there offered me that person's food instead. Well, that sure was a first. They fired up the order and after another lengthy wait we finally got our food. We agreed our burgers were pretty decent but nothing mind blowing. The way people talk about this place they make it seem like the burgers are a life changing experience. We did get a huge helping of fries though. The "regular" sized cup was overflowing and there were even more fries in the bag. The cajun spicing was delicious. All in all I was not impressed. My husband was in the mood for their greasy, fat-filled, high calorie, waiting for a heart attack burger, so we went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Some people may describe the burger as being juicy. However, I believe it is the enormous amount of "fat" in the burger that makes it taste juicy. As I was eating, I found a hair in the french fries. I'm not impressed by 5 Guys in general. I think the food is overpriced. 2 people getting a burger each, a small drink and sharing a small order of fries is just under $20. The burgers are ok, the fries are good and that Coke Freestyle device is no longer the unique item they once were. The music inside is VERY LOUD! I measured it at 103db with an app on my iPhone. I had a hard time communicating with the staff and my companion because of it. Five guys is THE place to go for the best burgers and fries - that is the plus. However, for a dine-in experience, the music is simply too loud and you'll have a tough time hearing whomever you are dining with. I actually asked a manager about this and the response was that it is the Five Guys corporate policy to have the music up loud - something about it keeping the energy high. Again, the food is good, but I don't think blaring music equals high energy. If it weren't so darn loud in there I'd give it a higher rating. read more
