I've been waiting to try out 5 guys for a long time. I finally had the chance today , and have to say it's a pretty good burger. I didn't realize a regular burger actually has double beef patty, so on top of ordering a regular sized fries, I had way too much food! Lots of toppings, lots of fries and just over a great place to grab a bite to eat. It is a bit expensive, but you do get a lot of food, more than In N Out. However, there's something about the In N Out burger that just has more flavor, so I'm going to have to give them the edge. Would I go back to Five Guys? Sure. It's still a good burger. Wow, I had been told all about Five Guys and had been wanting to try it but never took the time to look up where one near me was then last night when headed to the El Rey we saw there was this one right across the street. Best fries I've ever had and I'm picky about fries. We shared a small between two people and it was still way too many fries but we kept eating them because they were so good. For their burgers you have lots of fun toppings you can choose to put on it and best yet all of them are no extra charge. I got a little cheeseburger with BBQ sauce, grilled mushrooms and pickles. It was delicious and by no means little. The little just means only one patty instead of two. Their patties are hand formed, no frozen standard patty here. I can't wait to go back and I'm kicking myself for taking almost a year to try them. read more

I'll start off by saying I'm more of a Fatburger fan than an In-n-Out fan. I think a meaty patty is more important than the how pretty it is or how fresh the iceberg lettuce leaf is. So......I thought I would love this place, but was very disappointed. The bun is too soft, and 2 out of 3 times I've had it, the burger patty was under-seasoned (by seasoning, I mean salt; not flavorings). The beef itself had a nice crumbly texture that tells you it wasn't a frozen pink hockey puck at any point in its life. Though the patty is a big part of what makes a good burger, the whole package falls short. Five Guys reminds me of the '03 Lakers (you know, the one with Karl Malone and Gary Payton that made Phil Jackson quit...) This chain has all the ingredients to make a great burger, but it somehow doesn't. Much like that Laker team, it made me sad. read more

Food was good and we came in at a good time. No one was inside, no wait. Music was blaring, thankfully all my favorite jizzams. My only complaint is management needs to control the homeless that comes in. One man came up to my table to use my phone? No. A man asked me for money? Um no. Amazing place! I accidently ordered a burger with just mushrooms and onions (it was my first time here so I didn't know I how to order) I took my plain burger so they can add lettuce and they said it was fine they would give me a whole new burger with everything I wanted on it; they didn't even ask for my burger they said I could keep it. THAT is good customer service; they rather have wasted their $ on making another burger and keeping the customer happy than to see a customer unhappy with his burger. Never thought I'd say anything awful about Five Guys but yet... here we are. The review is not about the food but as to how their employees was trained. I ordered a milk shake and if anyone has ordered that before, you know that the cup they use is the flimsy, cheap one and with a huge crappy cover. Even if you don't order your shake with a whipped cream they'll still give you that terrible cup. I don't get why they don't just put it on a regular soda cup with the decent cover. I asked the guy who took my order and handed me my shake, Jared S. (that's the name showing on my receipt) if he can do me a favor and just pour the shake to the soda cup as I am taking it to go. I don't want the shake to accidentally spill in my car's cupholder. You guys, you know what he said?! He said "We have to charge you for the cup." Is he kidding me?! First, I am not asking him to change the size of the shake. Second, Five guys wants to charge for the cup because...they think I'll use the cup to help myself to a free soda?! It's mind boggling. Got one thing to say OVER-RATED!!!! The food was decent but definitely not worth the price..Its always compared to In n Out...to me only the size of the patties is a plus over In n Out....Otherwise its not better than..Dont be looking for In n Out prices either, you will get sticker shock.....Would I go back? emmm maybe if i was with a group that wanted it otherwise really not my choice. read more

so saw this place when i was near the area and looked it up on the web and i guess they are some chain from the east coast. saw all the claimed number one burger etc etc. so figured i try it out and see how it compares to Mcdonalds or even In-n-out or Umami burger. well the verdict is the food is mediocre. definitely not worth the price. by the way, they offer free peanuts as you wait so i guess thats nice. and the place and decor is nice. red and white color scheme. and cool gimmick of yelling out your order among the employees there. anyway, back to the burger. its just not that good. you can order a single or double and have all the sides like onions, mushroorms for free. but it still can't hide the fact they overcook the meat and not sure what they are doing to the bun but my burger always comes out soggy. they have this weird tendecny to put cooked sides like grilled onions and mushroom on top of the bread instead of on top of the meat or lettusce. the burger cost $4 for single and $6 for double. -they have fries and its good. big thick cut and for $3 they give huge portions. -they also have hotdogs and grilled cheese. but i didn't try those. anyway my whole meal for single cheese burger, small fry, and drink came to $10. and like i said it wasn't worth it. i rather eat an Mcdonald or In-n-out any day. not eating this place's food anytime soon even if fries were good. burger is just too medicore. read more

The people working here are incredible friendly and the service is spot on...each and everytime i have come in. The burger is ok and worth both the money and time spent walking down the street to get it. But the burger is not "amazing" by any stretch of the imagination. read more

Delicious burger. A little reminescent of an in-n-out burger with how fresh tasting it is, but better. It's a great classic burger that you can dress up however you'd like. This will be something I crave on a fatty day. read more

Many of these reviews mention that offer complimentary peanuts. None mention that they cook their fries in peanut oil. THERE IS NO SIGNAGE ON THE MENU THAT DISCLOSES THIS!!! Thank goodness my husband saw a peanut oil container and stopped our five year old from eating his fries in time. Otherwise my son would be in the hospital or worse. He had touched the fries and then his face and broke out in a rash. The staff was unapologetic and showed no signs of caring. They are obviously uninformed of the liability their business carries and lack the professionalism of how to deal with any form of conflict. Why would a company choose to use a product that so many people are severely allergic to -AND- not have the logic to mention this on their menu??? Sorry, a tiny sign that says you serve complimentary peanuts (as one passive aggressive cook mentioned to me) isn't going to cut it. If you are going to choose to use a product like this, take ownership and inform your customers. It's what responsible business owners do. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Better than in n out, my favorite location is Five Guys. I remember the first time I walked into Five Guys and it smelled like fresh burgers. The first thing I noticed was that it wasn't packed. When I went to place my order the cashier was very welcoming. She made me feel comfortable ordering. Since it was my first time ordering for Five Guys was different. In Five Guys you order by the piece, there is no specific burger you choose. Since I didn't know how it worked the cashier explained it. It took me some time to understand but she had the patience. She also gave me some tips on how to make the burger with a good price. While I waited for my order they offered me peanuts. Five Guys gives free peanuts and you can get as many as you want !!! I took a handful and they even offered me a bag. When I got my burger I swear it tasted so fresh and good. The cajun fries were delicious, the best burger service and food to me is Five Guys. read more

Better value than umami burger. Ok so umami may be gourmet (not for me) burger not supposed to be gourmet. Fat and juicy. If you are a light eater get the little burger. Trust me it's still big compared to the garbage at mcD. Fries will serve two people unless you like to gorge. Share it. Careful. The worst 5 guys I've been to. I used to like this franchise until I came here. Dry, over cooked colon-cringing burgers topped with pale lettuce, and bland tomatoes. This place felt like a waiting room at a geriatric clinic except everyone was baked out of their mind. The fries are fresh and greasy. I'll give em a star for that. The other star is for summoning the brain power to keep the lights on. This place won't last. If you want a good burger on this part of town, then go to Mo Better. Tried to go to In-n-Out and they had almost 20 cars in the drive though line. No problem, Five Guys is near my house. I came in and there was almost no one eating in the restaurant. No one in the kitchen and one guy on the cash register. He was counting the change and did not acknowledge me after awhile, he looked up and all he said was "It's gonna be awhile." They are chill and not over the top, and they are helpful, quick, and do stuff like put extra napkins, bag your drinkholders, consolidate your orders that have multiple bags etc. its the little things that count. Just opened. Worst french fries EVER and $3 for a regular size - Burnt, no taste, limp and super expensive. Tried the fries twice and both just awful. Cheese burger flavor was great. But wrong order TWICE!! (missing ingredients on both) once from order taker the other the cooks. Dining room unclean and LOUD. Workers screaming out to each other constantly. Regular drink is $3!!! Ridiculous. First time there was opening week and packed. One week later there was almost noone there at noon! It's a sign the place will close soon. read more

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago without a real hankering for a burger, but I had been wanting to try this place for some time given the hype that had been circulating. "Better than In 'n Out"?? Ha! We shall see.... When I walked in I was really happy to see that they have a wide variety of burger toppings - beyond your lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. I ordered mine, classically but with mushrooms. And then I noticed the box of peanuts! Perfection! I was starving! So as I hunkered down and waited for my meal, I cracked some of those open and nibbled . I suddenly had the urge to be at a baseball game and I don't even like baseball. My boyfriend and I shared a small cup of fries which was actually not at all small. I can say without a doubt, those fries are what In 'n Out's fries always should have been...but tragically, for them, are not. They are amazing! And the burger itself was really flavorful, not tasteless like some of the other less-than $5 burgers around. One minuscule nit picky critique which really doesn't matter, but I kind of wish that their interior decor was a bit more unique. It looks like you stepped into In 'n Out with all the red and white. Came here with my girlfriend had a pretty good time. Good customer service, food it's good, quite expensive but worth it.

Staff was unbelievably friendly and engaging. They made our food quickly, perfectly and even brought it over to our table for us. The man I can assume was the manager asked how everything was going with a friendly smile right after I witnessed him being a total sweetheart to a very old local who greeted him. Really nice staff. My husband even spilled ketchup on the floor and it was cleaned up before i could even turn around to get a napkin. It brought a big smile to my face to walk in a be treated so well!
