My first time trying Five Guys Burgers and Fries. I was really excited to try it because of all the hype. We came during lunch time and the line was wrapped around the restaurant (the line moves pretty fast though so don't be discourage). The burger was actually not bad! The beef patty was really juicy and good. The buns weren't anything special (kind of cold, if you ask me) but all in all.... the burger was pretty good. UNFORTUNATELY, I can't give it a 4 star because they messed up on my TWO burgers. I ordered 2 bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms and a few more toppings. I was charged for 2 bacon cheeseburgers but when I got it, there were no bacon or mushrooms in any of my burgers. I was disappointed and bummed. read more

I am from San Francisco and specifically asked to come to Five Guys form all the reviews I have read. The Yelp rating says 2 stars is "Meh. I've experienced better." and I couldn't agree more. I came because someone stated that Five Guys is better than In-and-Out Burger and they couldn't have been more wrong IMHO. I like In-and-Out's burger because it has more than just the meat and ketchup flavor to it. The "special" sauce not only breaks up the blandness of just a burger but blends well with the cheese, meat, sauce, and awesomeness. Five Guys has more of just that pure meat flavor but the rest of the condiments aren't distinguished enough to make the flavors crisp. Awesome Cajun fries!! Solid burger, tasted fresh and not greasy. All of the toppings were fresh also. There is a pretty extensive wait since they are just open but you have plenty of entertainment watching the kids behind the counter get their rythym down. I'd definitely go back again. Best advice was from my brother-in-law and I concur. Order a regular fry to share with someone. Because once they put your cup of fries in the bag they throw a trough of more fries on top of everything which is actually about 2/3 bigger than the cup. Pretty great location overall. The staff is always nice and they usually get my order to me pretty quickly. I use the five guys app to get my order going before I arrive. My fav is: Bacon Cheese Burger with grilled onions, A1, BBQ and ketchup with a regular fry I still prefer big boy burgers like red robin, blazin etc...But you can't beat these when needing something fast. read more

With 1 or 2 customers in the restaurant, 5 employees working still waiting after 15 minutes for 2 small bacon burgers and a medium fry. Slow service to say the least! Update: half hour later, I still didn't' have my burgers and order of fries. This is after going up to where the orders are delivered and asking one of the employees when my order was going to come out given orders after mine to customers coming in after me had already been filled. He shared that they had a simple orders and that mine would be up shortly. After a half hour of waiting and seeing more orders filled I went back up to the counter and enquired again why several more orders had been filled and I still hadn't had mine. I asked to speak to the Manager and he shared he was the Manager. He asked why this was the first he had heard about this situation given I had been waiting a half an hour. I reminded him that he was the very person who took my order. He said yes, but this was the first he heard about the situation. I informed him this is the 2nd time I had gone to the front counter and again, he was the one who took my order. He said he would get right on it and didn't offer to do anything beyond that for my extended wait. The General Manager came out and asked what happened. I gave him an overview of the full experience and he offered to refund my purchase and get it to me as soon as possible. It was actually his first day. The DM also happened to be there and came out and apologized for the poor service. The order wasn't prepared correctly, unfortunately, so I called when I noticed after leaving the order was incorrect. When I called asking to speak to the GM or DM, the person (Issaiah) shared that neither were there. I did end up getting transferred to the GM after all, and he tried again to address the continued errors. In short, the GM and DM are the only reasons I would go back to this location, but they definitely have their work cut out for them with the staff having a lot of room to grow. Okay, so I finally made it in after months of anticipation, and I was looking for ten reasons to slam them..... Found NONE! The fries are incredible! If those fries can stay that good consistently, I won't ever need a reason to keep coming back. Burgers are better that the standard FF fare, and the "build" makes it a little more special. Definitely tastes fresh, not frozen. I'm guessing I walked out 1,600 calories larger, but it was for a good cause! read more

Wasn't a double rainbow but had my bacon cheeseburger done "all the way". The veggie toppings were fresh, the meat was good but didn't stand out. The Cajun fries overflowed in bag it seemed like 2 orders. The fries are cut on site, and very tasty. Could use something else to dip in besides ketchup. Tarter, ranch etc. They could use some shakes, but I could see it clogging up their assembly line format. Was about $11 for burger, fries and drink. But I left full. I'll likely return. read more

I had never been to a five guys before this but always heard everyone say good things about it, so one day when I was in the area I jumped on the opportunity to try it out. I will admit that I was totally surprised, I thought it was great! While their prices are a bit high (yeah its an expensive burger), their fries are all fresh cut and the beef tasted very good and fresh. The peanut barrel to munch while you wait is nice touch as well. I liked it, tasted great, will probably go back the next time Im in the area. read more

Well, unfortunately, I've stopped eating at this particular Five Guys because their management is terrible. The food is typical Five Guys - good burgers. In the wasteland that is Lynnwood eateries, it rises to the near the top. Here's the problem with management - their lack of coordination of processing orders from the app. Long history with this one so I won't belabor the point here. The bottom line is this - 9 out of every 10 times I order using the app, I arrive and give them my name and that it's a web order. They tell me they'll let me know as soon as it's ready. Then, I'll take a table and read on my phone. Then, I look up, notice 10 or 15 minutes have gone past, people that arrived about the time have been served and are eating or have left and I have to go up and inquire about my order. Oops! Sorry! We'll make your fries now. Bottom line, the burger has been sitting there for I don't know how long, they never called out my name (because it's a web order and they've apparently forgotten I'm sitting 15 feet away) and they put it up on the fry cooker waiting for me to come in. By the time I get my fries and burger home, the fries are fine - the burgers are cold. 9 out of 10 times. Now, you would expect that if you brought this to managements' attention they would get it fixed. Not so. In fact, I've complained about this very thing several times - online, on the phone, to their faces. "We'll have management reach out to you. We're so sorry!". Management then FAILS to reach out to me. The last (and final) time some guy who just moved here from Alabama or some place like that and brought his "best" store manager with him did get back to me. He explained to me how they had brought him here to fix the problems. He told me he was going to send me a coupon for a free meal because he wanted me to give him a few days to turn this, their "second busiest store in Western Washington". around. I was supposed to get that coupon, eat the meal, and then give him feedback on their service. That was January 19. This is February 25, 37 days later. No coupon. Visited for lunch Monday 8/29/2011. About $12 for lunch. Reminded me of In-N-Out Burger, but not as good. Burger good, but small. Fries plentyful, and too much. Place was covered in grease and dirty. Waitress was wiping tables with same cloth that hardly got washed out. Whne she did, she used the restroom to was it in. Beverage area was soo slippery, that will get hurt soon. Even if they resolve cleaning issues, the size and price of the burget makes Dick's the best to beat still. read more

Five Guys burgers are made to order, fresh and in a jiffy. The prices are excellent for the quality of the meats and potatoes. The gimmick is that the fries are made from local produce and is rotated every couple of months. The phsyical locations have peanuts (not sure if this has changed recently as I usually order take out). Pick up orders are fast and convenient. The fries are made once you reach the pick up station to ensure freshness. Protein style option is available. Make sure you order a little version if you want one patty as the normal title burger is the equivalent of a two patty or large. The staff is very friendly and accurate. Enjoy! read more

After hearing non-stop from my mother about the one in Renton, me, my mother and my daughter stopped in. She was home from college and believe me, this kid knows cheeseburgers: it's all she eats. Ever. No kidding. My mom drives by this place on her way home from work and since the sign went up, I've been getting CONSTANT updates from her about the status of the construction, opening dates, etc. Think she got sucked into the hype? Uh huh. We drove over on opening day - which in of itself is usually a mistake. The line moved quickly but I think we waited too long for our order. Our collective review reflects pretty much what's already here: Mom: Great burger. Will eat there again. (Consider tho that mom is one of those people that wouldn't complain if they served her rat poo on a cold bun.) Daughter: In and Out (her burger mecca) is way better. When in Seattle, she'd choose Dick's over this place. Me: The mega topping menu is nice and orders of fries bigger than your head is nice. Thought it was spendy for what what you get so not a great value. Someone else mentioned all the furniture crammed in the dining room and bags of potatoes everywhere: neither of which spell "ambiance" to me. What puzzled me most was all the "We're so great" signage on corrugated sign board that was actually screwed to the wall. Really? The food doesn't stand on it's own? My first visit ever to a Five Guys'. My friends on the East Coast rave about it, so when we drove by and saw this here, we had to stop. First off: No milkshakes! Bummer! Second: Proudly displaying all of the local potatoes they are using in the fries: WIN. Third: The Burgers. I don't eat beef, but my lunch companion had the original 2 patty burger, all the way (includes all of the top line condiments, grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, etc.) with jalapenos. He loved it. I got the "vegetable cheese" burger all the way. The grilled onions are TO DIE FOR. Love the grilled onions. The mushrooms are a very nice touch. I still prefer a grilled cheese from IN-N-OUT but, hey, we don't have those here in WA so this will do. Minus points for no special sauce. Just ketchup & mustard, and hell, I coulda done that at home. Just sayin. Last: The fries They looked delicious, and they were, but next time I will get the regular fries and not the cajun fries. The "cajun" part is just some seasoning sprinkled all over the fries. Kinda spicy and not tasty, in my opinion. The "regular" size is HUGE. Go early-ish to avoid the crowds. read more

I have been hearing about Five Guys for the last few months and decided to check them out. My wife went in for lunch on Sunday. It was very busy, and we had a difficult time finding a parking space. The line moved fairly quickly and the order taker was very efficient, although they didn't mention that I had to grab the bottle of water I ordered from a bucket on the counter. I had to go back to the counter later and get it. We received our order in about 15 minutes. That's a little long for this type of restaurant. The seating is pretty cluttered. There isn't enough space between tables and chairs. I had to squeeze in between people and excuse myself a couple of times for brushing up against people's backs just to get around. On a positive side, either a very attentive employee or the franchise owner actually approached our table, shared some talk about the place and then volunteered to bring our order to us when it was ready. That was appreciated and warranted another star than I would have otherwise given. I ordered a cheeseburger with the works and a regular order of both kinds of fries. The burger wasn't very good. The bun is too small for the size of the burger. There is too much meat in the burger (double patty?) and the meat is also underseasoned. I am a long time Red Mill fan, and I guess all burgers are compared to theirs. It wasn't even close. I have a pretty big mouth, but I was barely able to get my mouth around the burger to get a bite. The bun was cold and grease-soaked by the time it arrived at the table. There was more carmelized onion sauce than there was actual onion. The fries were ample in portion. The regular size had not only a cup filled, but the bag with another similar sized portion filled. So the quantity was great. The taste was not as worthy. The cajun flavored was okay, but a little much with the rosemary. I was tasting that much later in the day. The house flavored fries were bland. I'm not sure why Five Guys are getting the hype that I have heard. It's a good franchise concept, but the quality has to be there along with the quantity. I will give them another chance at some point in the future and I will revise my rating if the burger is improved. However, in the meantime, I sure with that Red Mill's newest location was in Bothell instead of Ballard. read more

OK, for me a burger is a burger. I rarely go out and have a burger. In fact, I had been into this place 2 times previously and then walked out and went to other restaurants that were right next to 5 Guys. I liked that you could build your burger with whatever condiments they have available. However, they do not carry my Wife's favorite, Gorgonzola Cheese. But, one afternoon we decided to give it a try. We had a simple burger with American cheese, onions, mustard, mayo, lettuce and tomato. An order of medium fries and a medium drink. We usually split meals because my Wife only has a couple of bites and is finished. Well, they cut the burger in half for us and my first bite was "Awesome"! Now it may have been because I was hungry but in that moment it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. The fries are served in a big cup and we spread them out on the plastic serving tray and just dunked them in katsup and mayo. The fries were fantastic! Fresh cut with the peels still on. Also freshly cooked, which is key to a good tasty fry. I was very satisfied and happy when my Wife gave me the last couple bites of her half of the burger. You know those last couple of bites where everything has made it's way to the end of the bum and is kind of squishy? DELICIOUS!!! I will say, Five Guys You Rock! read more

If you're starvin' Marvin' you get yourself a bacon cheese buger, that mean's double patty for you amateurs. Or get a mini, which means single patty and definitely not a mini bite size slider. Then top it off with all the free fixins' like grilled mushrooms, jalapenos, and whatever you feel like stackin into the mix and then you got yourself a fresh yummy monster burger!!! Again, I have been here so many times that I cannot believe I missed reviewing it! Great location and plenty of parking. I love the fact that it's one flat fee and you can top your burger with whatever toppings you like. The regular and 'little' variation of burgers on the menu is confusing for people who haven't been to one before. 'Little' being one meat patty and 'regular' being a double. Also, their fries are plentiful but you also pay for it. A 'small' fry is enough to share between two or three people for sure! Just keep that in mind if you're headed there with friends. The burger was decent, no better or worse than others I guess. The fries are nice and salty, but they are soft and limp. The shakes are not work $5.99 at all, they are the worst shakes I have ever had and that is a premium price. In my opinion, go elsewhere and get a better meal. I will not be going back. read more

Well, I have to admit that my subsequent visits to Five Guys Burgers and Fries have yet to match the same excellence as my first visit...that first burger was still one of (if not the) best burgers I have ever tasted. I hate to be one of those elitists that says In N' Out is better, but yeah, In n' Out IS better. That being said, this is a pretty solid substitute for the Pacific Northwest. I love the burgers and fries here, and I also love that a standard "burger" is actually a "double burger" and a mini burger is just one patty. The guy that hands out the food is pretty chill, and I dig that he lobs in an extra handful of fries on top of your food in the bag. Swell. The one drag is that the line is ALWAYS out the door and they usually have just one person taking orders, so the line moves really slow. The food comes out relatively quickly though since they have about 30 people cramped next to the grill churning out burgers. I've been there several times and have never had my order (which is usually pretty specific) messed up. I hate to say that this is great, because that's to be expected, but similar joints seem to have trouble with this concept. read more

If you are looking for a burger and a whole lot of fries, then Five Guys is the place to be. I'm an average guy and the Little Cheeseburger is more than satisfying. However, if you do have a good appetite then go for the regular size burgers. The burgers are just as I remembered them to be back in the east coast. There seems to be a lot more toppings available these days; an added bonus! Other positive aspects of this place: you can order your burgers online and then drive to pick 'em up. The regular sized fries is more than enough to feed 2 hungry college guys. This location has sweet tea or sweet green tea. Oh and if you are waiting, then munch on some of the ample supplies of roasted peanuts, assuming you're not allergic to peanuts. Downside: For a little cheeseburger, regular fries and a regular drink, you're looking at about $10.37 and some odd change. read more

The best $5 burger that you will find this part of Washington. Note that when you order a regular burger - it includes 2 patties while their "little" burgers are only a single patti. I don't love it, I don't hate it. It is just meh to me. In no way, shape or form is it better than in and out of even on the same radar. Totally different styles so not sure where people get that comparison. Service is good, never had an issue. They always have a ton of staff but in no way is this place fast. They cook everything made to order so it takes a while. I usually get the little bacon cheeseburger. I don't like the bacon here. GASP! I think they deep fry it or something but it is just too crispy for me and is usually not hot at all, not even warm. Fry's are huge, get one to share. I see that they did add a "little fry" size though. Never had it. Ask for a side of the Cajun seasoning, it is awesome. Never had anything else off the menu because who pays $4+ for a grilled cheese? Son loves the hot dogs here though. They also raised the prices here slightly. All in all, it is okay to have occasionally, but there are other places with better burgers. read more

The hype for Five Guys is kind of like the beginning of a roller coaster: the incline (here, the long line) creates the suspense. Is it worth the wait? Is it worth the hype? Is it worth the $10+ to get two burgers and a bag of fries? Mostly so. Getting two little burgers and regular fries is plenty big for my wife and me, but I can't help thinking that I could have gotten something reasonably similar for about half that price. And I am not sure if I like the environment as much. The red-white checker and the peanut shells definitely give it the diner, stadium feel. But there is nothing overall relaxing about the atmosphere, perhaps only the relief you feel finally having sat down to eat your burger after a 15-20 min. wait. But it's not totally downhill from there. read more

I went on a recommendation and I have to say I thought I would be disappointed, like when you finally see that movie everyone has been talking about. Sounded great, too good to be true, but it somehow fell short. THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE!! Oh my goodness! I bit into a fry and was sold! I didn't get to eat my burger right away but when I did about 15 min. later....I was shocked. I didn't have to fight with a tomato. It was like a little bit of paradise. (Did I mention I am pregnant and have been craving a really good burger?) What impressed me was the small menu, the free burger toppings and the incredibly helpful girl behind the counter. She recommended I go for a "little cheese burger". I did and with the small fries and, let me tell you, it could have fed two people! Thank God I was alone....it was too tasty! At first was thinking it was a bit pricey but then I remembered I went to "the golden arches" recently and it was only about $1.50 less for very sub-standard food! What I didn't like (and this is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that it was very crowded, the tables were very close together. I thought I was going to have to have to become intimately acquainted with some folks if I wanted to sit down. But I was leaving anyway so I just stood for a few minutes till my number was called. So the next time I go I will bring a tenner and try not to forget the ketchup as I leave to enjoy this delicacy in a slightly more comfortable setting. read more
