First, staff and food are still great. Unfortunately, Five Guys has finally given into shrinkflation, ostensibly in an effort to go green. When I saw the announcement that they were trading in their classic cups for Kraft paper pouches that consumed less paper, I assumed that there would be a difference between a little, a regular, and a large, given the difference in price. I have previously ordered, when they still used cups, a little and a regular and saw the amount of fries. Two weekends ago, I ordered and was charged for a regular and received the amount of fries I have previously received with a little. I was shocked at first but then logged in online to see this was also the experience of others since the transition to the new container. This isn't such a big deal if these are moderately priced fries but this "regular" portion of fries is $7.59. That is similar to a basket of fries at a restaurant and I expect a similar portion, which is what the portion was under the cup system. Five Guys isn't cheap but it always felt like the quality of the food and the portion justified the price. That just isn't the case anymore. I used to go to Five Guys a couple of times a month and grab dinner for me and my friend but we haven't been back since, and likely won't. read more

I usually love FG but tonight the order was such a disappointment. The fries were not fully cooked, leaving me with a cup of raw and greasy potato strips, many with end pieces (peel along entire length of potato). The burger barely had any BBQ sauce on it, and was more flavorless ground beef than anything. Even the slices of cheese were obviously smaller than normal, appearing as if one slice was torn in half to make to appear that I got what I paid for. With all the burger options in this town, it's doubtful I'll try Five Guys again. Definitely can no longer recommend it, especially for the price and the downgrade in goods. read more

I still don't get the fuss about Five Guys, but when you want a speedy burger on a road trip and the thought of McDonald's turns your stomach, Five Guys will do. This location is mere minutes from I-75, adjacent to a couple of other fast food spots. The young woman taking orders was very polite and nice, even offering me a water cup when I didn't specifically order water. It didn't take long for my little fries ($3.29) and little cheeseburger ($5.99) to come out. The burger was serviceable but nothing I'd want to eat day in, day out. Bun was untoasted sesame. I do like how you can customize your burger. I got lettuce, tomato, pickles, raw onions, ketchup, and mustard. The little fries were rather not little and could be shared by two persons. They were a wider cut and not quite as crispy as I would personally prefer but salted reasonably. I skipped the free peanuts. There was a Coke Freestyle if you're into that sort of device. The bathrooms were fine, there was parking in the mini-strip mall, and "Lola" by the Kinks was playing at one point. All good things. Open 11 AM-10 PM every day. read more

Employees are friendly and the place is clean but when I can buy almost the same burger across the street for 99 cents, why would I come here. *Update* Well during the Covid 19 I went there to get a large order of fries. Instead of pouring the fries straight from the metal tub the guy grabs the fries with his hands and puts them in the bag. When I got home I threw them in the trash. When I called manager she informed me that a lot of customers prefer they do it that way. I told him even McDonalds never touches their fries, that is just nasty. FIVE STARS!! Listen, most of the previous reviews are old. I think one is from a year ago that had been reposted several times since, what in the world. Staff: Friendly and no one was standing around. It was a busy Sunday and all hands on deck. Nothing is ever frozen so it takes a bit of time for your fresh burger and fresh fries, so plan to wait. Everything tasted fantastic! I was bummed at myself bc I didn't realize/I did forget that the regular burger is a double patty and I just wanted one patty. I didn't realize this until we were handed our order. You can't really peel the burgers/cheese apart from each other and honestly the two burgers weren't as horrible as I thought. There were plenty of toppings and overall everything was great! End of Sept: masks required in store, social distancing required in store, I believe I saw a sign for car side delivery? It's worth checking in with them if that's your preference. If you want this, get it! Don't use the previous yelp reviews as my experience was completely different. Super yummy! On a road trip through Georgia on our way to Orlando we were dreading that fast food stop with the normal choices: McD's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc. But when we spotted the sign for Five Guys we put the peddle to the metal! Woo Hoo! It's great to have a five Guys right off the interstate. This chain is taking over the country. They have great burgers, not the best, but for somewhat fast food you can't beat their made to order burgers. The fries are great too. Some minor complaints for this locations would include limited parking and the restaurant itself was uncomfortably cold inside. Lucky for us it was a gorgeous day so we enjoyed our meal on their patio. read more

They are too expensive. I walked in to order a burger and I wanted the large burger and the price was $10.95. I thought that included fries and a drink and the cook said no. The $10.95 was the price of the burger only. She said everything is sold separate. So the large burger with a medium fry and a drink would have been closer to $20.00? That's way, way too much money to charge for a burger meal. Absolutely not. I would rather cook the meal for that amount. read more

My first Five Guys experience and I fell in love! I have to say that it is the best "fast food" burger around and they don't charge you extra for all the toppings you want. I went all out and got the bacon cheeseburger. Be warned, it's not a typical bacon cheeseburger but rather a double bacon cheeseburger (unless you say you want a "wittle burger"). Two patties and two slices of melty American cheese! My fiance and I split a "regular" fry but they fill up about a 1/4 of a brown bag for you. Heck yes! Oh, and the sign on the back wall will tell you where the potatoes came for their fries that day, since, you know, they're made fresh in the store everyday. How awesome is that? Choose from mayo, mustard, ketchup, ,lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, tomatoes, pickles, grilled mushrooms, onion, relish, jalapenos, green peppers, A1 sauce, hot sauce, and BBQ sauce. They also have two of those awesome touch screen Coke machines where you can get virtually any drink you want. They were a tad higher than regular fast food joints, but you definitely pay for what you get. For example, we went to Wendy's and had the pretzel burger not too long ago and we paid about $17 for our two meals. Here, we paid ~$21 for two burgers, two drinks, and a massive pile of french fries, but you don't see me going to Wendy's and writing a review. read more

This place was just remodeled and it looks great, the staff are friendly and the food is delicious. Bathrooms are clean. A little pricey but so worth it. One would think that once one got to the point where most of their clothes don't fit or when it's getting snug in the front seat of a car, that one would perhaps, maybe, push away from the table. Not me. Instead I discover things like online ordering from Five Guys. Now I no longer have to tax myself by waiting for my order inside the starkly lit restaurant. After a few clicks, I can roll my large habitus out of bed, waddle into aforementioned spotless restaurant, shuffle to the pick up area and wait the few minutes for my fries to drop (they don't cook them till you arrive). Ah....fat gal heaven. This is perfect. I pay online, they text me to tell me when it's gonna be ready (10 minutes....I don't even know if I can get there that fast) and voila.....12,000 calories in a glistening sack. I snatch my greasy brown bag, fill up some little cups with malt vinegar (i love that they have it for your fries), and toddle to my car, grinning, whilst simultaneously busting out of my clothes. Burger is yummy....I get the little one- cuz I don't want all that meat, and this is totally random, but Five Guys had some delicious pickles. It was good, but I'm not going to crave it, I don't think. Even though they give me about 20lbs of fries, I'm not crazy about them. Yes, it's great that they aren't frozen and that they are hand cut....but they're limp, and my current fry fetish requires crispiness. This place was decent. Their burgers are very well seasoned and moist. Not the BEST that I've had but, like I said...decent. The fries are insane in quantity and Im not sure who would be able to eat all of those! They also give you little containers of cajun spices to sprinkle on your fries or burger. Staff was friendly, free refills, and pub height tables for us long-legged people. I love a good artery clogging meal every once in a while and Five Guys is apt to provide it if needed. I swear to god they don't know what portion control is. A order of fries will get you a ten pound bag brimming with fries. Maybe it's not really ten pounds but my point is you get your money's worth. Thank god the overly friendly and helpful lady at the counter warned me beforehand. I liked that they had malt vinegar for the fries. It's nice to mix it up every once in a while. Stopped here on my way out to Detroit this week for the Aerosmith concert, burgers are always solid and there are so many toppings to choose from that I usually have a hard time deciding on what to have whenever I come here. I'm also a big fan of their fries.... Just got takeout so I can't really comment on the restaurant, but they have outdoor seating so if it's a nice day out you may want to consider grabbing a table outside. A particularly good Five Guys in my opinion. The fries were hot and fresh, service was great, and the burger was cooked perfectly. They have nice outdoor seating as well. I always thought Five Guys was a little overpriced ($6 for a fast food burger?), but I suppose you pay for quality, and they always give waaaaay too many fries (but it makes me feel like I'm not getting ripped off). My new favorite fast-food burger is Five Guys. They have locations all over the Eastern US although this is the only one I've been to. What's so good about it? Everything. First off you get to specify exactly what you want on your burger . .and you actually get it that way. The ingredients are fresh and tasty - but also good and greasy. I can't think of another fast food burger to really compare this one too . . it's not like In-N-Out although I've heard it called "the In-N-Out of the EASt" and I understand why . . . . but in my opinion it kicks In-N-Out's sorry ass. Ah, sweet burgers. We picked up two small cheeseburgers and a large fry tonight on the way home, and the smell of the tasty burgers about made us pull over. We waited, and were rewarded. Food: Tops. One of the best burgers I've ever had. I had it with everything plus A1 sauce and jalapenos and it was SO tasty. Staff/Service: We had it to go, but the front counter staff was great. This was our first trip, so she explained sizes, what comes on the burgers, etc. Top notch. Cleanliness: All of the tables were clean, the floor was swept, and no one was wiping their nose. The containers of peanuts on the tables were a bit cliche, but still nice when you're waiting. Overall: I work about 30 seconds away on Arkwright, so I get the feeling that this will be a weekly stop. Hurrah for the burger! read more

Great burgers! I first tried them at Penn state unviversity! Tried them in Macon, even better!!!

Simply put, some of the best burgers you will find in Macon. It has a fairly bare bones decor consisting of mostly red and white with little else to mention. As you walk in you're quickly corralled into line by a wall made of bags of potatoes which are presumably destined to be fries for some patron down the road. Toward the end of the line are boxes of peanuts placed strategically on the potato wall to nibble on while you wait. The menu is pretty sparse with you basic line up of hamburger-cheeseburger-bacon burger-bacon cheeseburger as well as a similar list of hotdogs and a "Little" sized option for the aforementioned burgers. All of which can be customized with a nice selection of any toppings of your choice. What initially cause me to raise an eye brow was the nearly $7 price tag for the standard Bacon Burger and an additional $3 for a regular order of fries. It just seemed a bit high for a fast food burger. That's until my number was called and I sat down and opened my bag... My eyebrow promptly lowered as I quickly realized the bag was filled half way up with fries and buried underneath was a rather sizable burger taking up the rest of the room. You get what you pay for and that's what you get here in the best kind of way. I opted for the Cajun which had a nice bit of spice to them and after eating my way down to my burger I discovered the cup they were supposed to reside in, densely packed and surrounded by more fries! I decided the fries had one for now and I promptly set my eyes on the Everest sized burger wrapped in tin-foil. Inside the foil was cheese oozing out of the huge greasy mess of a burger. The tastiest kind of mess. The bacon was nice, thick, and crunchy and the rest just melts in your mouth the way all fast food burgers only wish they could. It took me a while but I finished it and set my eyes back on the remainder of the fries... I then promptly assembled a little white flag from a napkin and a straw and signaled my defeat. My tasty tasty defeat... It's not something you'll want to make a habit of eating everyday, if... well... you want to live out of your 20's. But you wont regret visiting from time to time. read more

Get the single burger, it is more than big enough!!! Burger is cooked nicely, I like mine with cheese, bacon, and mushrooms. The fries however steal the show and a small order is big enough for two to share or for one really hungry guy!
