I stopped by the Five Guys and had a great experience overall. Right from the start, the experience was positive. I didn't catch the nice lady's name at the register, but she was very pleasant--greeted me with a smile and a warm welcome. She even took a moment to compliment my hooded sweatshirt from the Hudson Valley Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics . I shared with her that my wife and I participate every year to help raise money, and she was genuinely kind and engaging about it. That small interaction really set the tone for the visit. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger (well done) with lettuce, ketchup, raw onions, and jalapeños, along with fries (well done) and a large drink . Everything was cooked to perfection--my burger was exactly how I like it: fresh, hot, and full of flavor, and my fries were great too! (Pro tip: try ordering French fries well done to avoid wet, soggy fries .) I will say, I was a little surprised to see that Five Guys has changed how they serve their fries. They're no longer packed into the cup like before and are now served in these small little bags, which was a bit disappointing at first . Also, I originally thought all fries automatically came with Cajun seasoning--that's honestly the main reason I go to Five Guys--but I learned that you actually have to specifically order Cajun fries if you want the seasoning. When I noticed my fries didn't look seasoned, I asked about it. Jocelyn and Carlos, who were working behind the glass, both took the time to kindly explain that I would need to specify regular fries or Cajun fries when I place my order. They were polite, patient, and genuinely friendly . They even thanked me for asking questions, which I really appreciated. I then asked if they could add Cajun seasoning to my fries, and without hesitation, Jocelyn said "absolutely" with a smile . Carlos took care of it right away and handed them back--no attitude, no problem at all . On top of that, the place was very clean. The floors were spotless, everything was well-stocked, and the whole environment felt organized and welcoming. I've been to other Five Guys locations where peanuts are all over the place and things can feel a bit messy, but this one was the complete opposite--nice and clean all around . That kind of customer service is rare these days. From the friendly greeting at the register to Jocelyn and Carlos going out of their way to help, the whole team made me feel comfortable and appreciated . The cashier was attentive and friendly. However,I'm unimpressed by the outdated self promoting oversized "decor". The prices are ridiculously expensive,and quite frankly the food isn't worth it. Whatever they do here, they do it right. Haven't been to a Five Guys in many years, especially since the last few times (at other locations), things were lacking in several areas - so much so that it turned me off to the brand in general. Came here for the hell of it since I was right in the area and just eating the fries to get to my burgers in the bag reminded me of what I was missing. And yes, those fries are STILL awesome. The one who took my order was friendly. Everything is made fresh to order and you can see their process while you wait. Bacon cheeseburgers were just as good as the fries. Filling and delicious all around. Inside was clean - even the drinks area was clean, which is rare since the general public tends to mess it up in most other businesses. There was plenty of seating. Located in the Cortlandt Town Center shopping plaza, there's no shortage of parking - just use caution (and patience) while navigating the lot since there are a lot of bad drivers who come to the Center. As long as I know this place has been here, I've actually never been to a Five Guys... anywhere! Now I've been to this one twice over the last 3-weeks! SUPERB (double) burger! No one can deny that the burgers are fresh as well as personally made right in front of you! Loved choosing everything I wanted on it and watching it prepared. Like I said, never been to a Five Guys. The facility was immaculately clean and despite struggling to find much needed napkins (the burgers are in-fact JUICY!), I intend to go back: burger, fries and a Coke... it doesn't get more Americana then that! Really good. ONLY negative! While the potatoes are noticeably fresh as is the oil, the fries are super soggy and kinda gross to be honest. Looks like I'm the only one with a great experience here. Just left after dining in (had time to kill before picking my kids up from school). I had a major craving for a burger and fries and decided to come here I haven't had 5 Guys in about 4 years. The cashier was very friendly and offered me a milkshake sample. I ordered the Little Cheeseburger (single patty), Reg Fries and a Reg Drink. The whole waiting for my food was painless. It was ready within 7 minutes. Staff were all friendly, the place was very clean and the overall atmosphere was inviting. I'll def be back and may just have to try a shake next time. Absolutely horrible service... One person online ahead of me and the girl behind the counter is frantically sweating. Absolutely no one sitting down in the building because it is filthy. Ended up walking out before I even put my order in due to the employees insulting attitude at the front counter. Young lady with dark hair, glasses and purple highlights in her bangs threatens not to serve me as I appeared to be getting impatient after waiting on line for 20 minutes while there was nobody else in the store. No greeting when you enter the store. Took way too long to greet their customers let alone take an order. Right before I walked out, the girl described above asked me what I would like, and as soon as I began ordering told me I needed to wait a minute to which I responded by saying "OK I'm not sure why you asked for my order..." young lady again threatens not to take my order. At this point, I walked out as I believe anyone else would. Very, very disappointing experience. I will never go to five guys again. For a long time, Five Guys was the Holy Grail of fast food burgers (on the East Coast...so save it all you In N Out Burger fans). Then Shake Shack and Smashburger started to open up multiple locations. But Five Guys always had a special place in my heartburn, I mean heart. Not having been here in a while and having a WHOPPING 3$ (no typo, 300 pennies worth) gift card, I popped in for a late afternoon snack. It's not lunch time and there are NO OTHER CUSTOMERS in the "dining room". As my legions of followers know, I am to burgers what Roger Ebert is to movies. So when Five Guys unceremoniously invaded the Mohegan Lake shopping center in plain view of McDonald's, I knew I had to have a front row seat. First up, the burgers. They are very good. Not spectacularly good. But definitely better than your average Royale with Cheese. Consider me a fan. But what I'm not so keen on are the prices. The cheeseburger suitable for anyone over the age of five sells for $6 bucks and change. Which wouldn't be horrible if it came with free toppings or a small fries or drink. But toppings are .60 cents each, the regular fries (which are big enough to serve two) are $3 and a fountain soda is about $2.50. No matter how you slice it, you wind up with paying nearly $13 including tax for a burger, fries and a coke. Considering that you can pick up a McDouble, fries and a coke fifty yards away for a third of that price, one would have to convince me that Five Guys is not just twice as good -- but THREE times better than McDonalds. This is a concession that I am not prepared to make just yet. My feeling is that Five Guys has gotten a little full of themselves picking up all of these undeserved 'Best Burger' awards in local magazines and they're squeezing us for every penny during a down economy, leaving me with a bad taste in my mouth. This is the worst managed fast food place I've ever been to. We placed an order online for curbside pickup. Following the online directions, we called when we arrived and were told someone would be right out with our food. After 15 minutes, we called again and were told that they had no record of our order! Trying to help, we located our order number and called again. The fries, which come in a large quantity, are so so; they could use more crisp and less oil. I recommend with the caveat of expense: three cheese burgers, 3 regular fries, and 3 bottle of water are $40.00. This is not cheap for fast food. There is a reason their prices are not listed on their online menu. While the burgers are good, cost will keep me from frequenting. Back to the fries...Five Guys is very close to McDonald's...buy the burgers at Five Guys and swing by the Golden Arches on your way out for your fries...my kids didn't really care for Five Guy fries. read more

I peeled it open, wishing I had rubber gloves on - all the contents were oozing oil. I just put it all in a garbage bag & vowed to never return. Why can't these chains learn how to train the kids cooking that Clean Oil at proper HIGH temps will bring Customers back? Properly fried & drained of oil will deliver great French Fries & Onion Rings. Go down South & learn how to make good Fried Food. I have no idea why the Burger was so saturated with oil that the bun was turning to mush. McD's is across from them & they can't make good crispy French Fries either. Definitely a step above your usual fast food fare. I like the idea that the beef is fresh and the cook prepares your order in plain sight. I have taken out from here many times but have never eaten in. The staff is always friendly and courteous. The burgers excel in taste and they offer a multitude of toppings. I also enjoy the cheese dogs because they're sliced in half before being grilled and taste like a real beef hot dog. Very conveniently located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. I do agree with other reviewers that it's a bit pricey but for a fresh burger or hot dog, it's definitely worth a try. read more

Every time I come here they always get my burger wrong. I order the same thing at every five guys: cheeseburger with green peppers, mushrooms, and barbecue sauce. And somehow they always manage to put jalapeño. I can't eat anything spicy, I get sick. Even if the receipt says green peppers, I get jalapeño. There has probably been only one time where they got it right, and I've been going here for years. One time, after again seeing jalapeño, I asked them to fix it, and they managed to screw it up again. Horrible. read more

Good fries and cajun fries although their fry portion has definately gotten smaller since they opened. They're always getting our orders wrong then we have to wait an extra 10+ minutes for them to make it again. I've tried calling in my order and sending it in on their app but the food is never ready. Ive even had to wait literally a half hour with 2 kids in tow while they made my entire order I had ordered way beforehand because they 'forgot' and we got no compensation. Usually pretty busy. I love Five Guys burgers. Hands down, my favorite burger. I also loved my neighborhood Five Guys because the employees were always so upbeat, kind and courteous. Things are not the same. A lot of young kids hired with lack of courtesy. They have a little girl struggling to man the grill while a teenage boy looks out into space confused. I placed an online order tonight and was highly annoyed that my food wasn't ready even 10-15 mins after the pick up time indicated. Wasn't even crowded. I had to literally call out to the guy, (maybe the manager because he seemed to be the only person over the age of 19 there) who walked past me about 5 times (ignoring my presence) to inquire if my order was ready, at which point he snapped me, "You're going to have to wait on fries" which he just began to load on frier. Really good burgers, when made right. I don't know what's going on with them as of late, but customer service is going down a steep hill. Not happy.
