Little Cheeseburger
Chris S.

I'll be honest, I think Five Guys is overrated. Maybe the quality has gone down or maybe it's this location. Either way, it's a decent burger but the taste doesn't justify the price. With so many burger places popping up, your money is better spent elsewhere. At least the store is good and the staff is great.

Little Cheeseburger - all the way!

Solid spot for a quick lunch. I love how consistent Five Guys is and how they let you customize your order. I usually order the little cheeseburger (1 patty) with sautéed onions, ketchup, mayo, tomatoes and a little fries with no salt. You can see them cook as everything is made to order right in front of you. Is it the best burger you'll ever have? No. It's fast food but it's fresh and inexpensive for a quick lunch! I also like that you can help yourself to roasted peanuts while you wait for your order- if you have a peanut allergy I do NOT recommend this chain. Otherwise be sure to get a burger and fries and grab a seat! (Heard they make a good hotdog but have yet to try!)

Got this for delivery from Seamless. Was really craving a burger and fries. Ordered a hamburger and a regular fries. The delivery came fast and I love that the portions are so big and there's so much food. The hamburger had two patties and there's unlimited toppings- the bun and burger proportion was great. There was plenty of pickles and veggies on the burger. The bun was slightly soft because there was so much topping but that's probably because it was via delivery. The fries are great, they're always so full and overflow the box. The fries were actually really crispy even from delivery so I really liked that. Always a satisfying meal.

Standard fast food burger restaurant. Somewhat sloppy. There was no cheese on my cheese dog. They gave me twice as many fries as I ordered. Not sure if they were trying to make up for the missing cheese, but the extra fries were just dumped into the bag, not placed in a container. The grease from the fries was soaking through the paper bag, and the bag was about to fall apart.

Probably the most unhealthiest meal I have eaten recently, but after a week of being sick and hardly eating much I was finally in the mood for a gut busting greasy burger. The place itself has that old fashioned soda shop feel with the red and white checkered decor, some tables and counter space to sit at, and a small no-nonsense burger and fry menu. Everything is cooked to order and is made fresh. There are even bags of potatoes piled on the floor that they use to make the fries with. Clean looking and they have classic rock playing too. The burgers here are served as a double patty or as a "little" burger with a single patty. Of course, my inner fatty went with the double fat ass burger with bacon. Also cool here is that they offer unlimited toppings out of 15 or so choices. I also ordered a small cajun fries and a large soda. Whoa - they have those new-fangled digital soda machines with over 20 different drinks offerered. I had to try out a Mr Pibb Diet Cherry Vanilla soda. Yeah, I'm fooling no one with a diet soda! It takes a few minutes to get your food as the cooking process takes a bit of time, but at least it's freshly made. While you are waiting there are barrels of salted peanuts in the shell to take a scoop and munch on. Yes, they are free! I decided to stay there and eat rather than take it back to work as I feel it would go over better served up hot, and I was right. The burger itself is a hulking bunch of meat piled high with the toppings I chose. Tasty enough with a nice grilled flavor to it, but not the juiciest burger I have ever eaten. The cajun fries are the way to go as you literally get a small island of a portion over flowing out of the cup they are served in! Fresh russet potato taste with a spicy cajun coating. Get these over regular fries any day! Can't really find too much to complain about. As there are a bunch of sub-par places to eat at near this Penn Station area this was a welcome option. My burger was prepared just as I asked, the service was competant, lots of soda choices, free peanuts, and it filled my belly.

Great loaction with really nice burgers and sandwiches. I feel five guys should open up more outlets back in chicago, people really love the five guys. But chicago just has a couple of them. The staff was nice and my burger just tasted like heaven.

Your average very greasy burger but still lovable if you're looking solely for fast food. Don't expect to be blown away by anything but if I had to pick one of the best things in the menu I would say the Cajun fries- probably because it's pretty darn simple to make. The prices are a bit higher than expected since I didn't expect my meal to be over $10 but portions are very generous (especially the fries haha, the "little" is way more than suffice for one person). Also beware calorie count is posted- shield your eyes (I digress).

This is an extremely busy Five Guys on 29th st and 7ave right by Grand Central. I came here just for the Cajun fries at 8pm on a weekday and had to waited at least 10 minutes for it. But I do appreciate that everything in Five Guys are super fresh and made as you order. And the free peanuts always help the wait. I have never tried the Cajun fries before, I've been missing out all this time with the regular fries. The Cajun seasoning was awesome, together with Five Guys amazing fries as is, I could eat a regular fries by myself. Love Five Guys!

Great service. Good food. One star off for the chain's limited menu, though it's not the location's fault.

Pretty solid for a fast food burger! The double patty on the standard burger makes it a reasonably satisfying meal.

The dog by itself is on the bland side, but the dog is nirvana once you slap on your favorite toppings. The chili and cheese are two additional upcharges, but it's a small price to pay for a piece of heaven! Check out Gray's if you are on the go and need a quick, satisfying meal. While food took awhile, we were no in a rush and the employees were friendly. The crif burger and New Yorker were too basic for me, but I enjoyed the elote topping for the elote dog. The tots were a nice side to pair with your meal. There's nothing like some hot dogs and burgers before/after drinking, so it's a smart pairing being next to all the bars. Would I come here solely for the hot dogs and burgers? Probably not. But it works great together with PDT.

The crif is pork and beef, New Yorker (all beef) and veggie option. I did a New Yorker (all beef) $4.75 with sauerkraut ($0.75) and the Spicy Redneck which featured a bacon wrapped crif dog with chili, coleslaw and picked jalapeños. Both satisfied the hot dog craving I had. There are also tater tots and burgers available. The bread was a bit stale, hence the 3 stars and the bun split on my New Yorker making it messy to eat. The woman behind the counter was friendly and suggested I try the dog featured this month- featuring a fried pickle or the Tsunami which has teriyaki sauce and pineapples. I would stop here again if in the area, but for basic dog a cart will hit the spot.
