Five Guys is expensive. Today I paid almost fourteen dollars for a bacon cheeseburger and small cajun fries. Not even a drink. Normally this is sad, possibly devastating. HOWEVER. Food is just as good as any other Five Guys - delicious burgers, and scrumptious fries. The peanuts, like any other Five Guys restaurant, were also amazing. However, I have never met a stingier staff. They refused to provide more than one napkin. Five Guys burgers are not a very clean meal to eat. Everyone always says that Five Guys is "so good" and I finally went here to try for myself. Nothing against this specific location but my meal was just not good. It filled me up disgustingly and my meal was $9 and came with the little cheeseburger and small fries (NOT EVEN A DRINK WITH THIS MEAL). When you order any burger you get unlimited free toppings which was good, on mine I had A-1 sauce, mayonnaise, tomato, lettuce and grilled onions (Mmm..) I find this to be one of the most friendly locations of this chain. My favorite item is the fries, which are fresh cut and freshly fried to order--some of the best in the city at any kind of restaurant. I actually am not a big fan of the burgers as they only come well done; I prefer the bacon cheese dog in all its fatty richness. Food is 3 stars, the cashier is 4 stars. The cashier was very amicable and helpful with me selecting the order. I purchased two double burgers and regular cajun fries. The double burgers were alright, but not as flavorful compared to the burger I had in Fresh Meadows. The vital difference was that the patty at this location was quite dry. In addition, the temperature of the whole burger wasn't high enough even though it was made a few minutes before. The cajun fries were kind of bland. I needed to dip them in the ketchup or else it would taste too dry in my mouth. All in all, it was an alright experience. The store was clean and had good lighting. Came here yesterday to grab a quick bite and ordered the Little Burger. It wasn't the best burger I've had, but for $5 and unlimited toppings, it was not bad. The Little Burger really did have a little patty, almost like those from MacDonalds, but the stack of toppings and A1/BBQ sauce made up for it. The patty was a little overdone for my taste. However, I gave bonus points for the polite service at the counter and the fast service. The gentleman at the counter was all smiles and so sweet and professional. Wow... I was craving this place, but it wound up being little better than high school cafeteria food. I have had good experiences with the location by 86th Street in Brooklyn, so I was expecting quality. This was so mediocre, though. I ordered a Little Burger, Little Fries, and a soda, with the understanding that 5 Guys has a skewed understanding of what normal portion sizes are. Problem number one were the fries. They were cooked just enough that they weren't raw, but no farther. They were flabby on the outside, waxy on the inside, and did not particularly taste like anything. Problem number two was my burger. I asked for grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and A1, and the steak sauce was pretty much the only source of flavor to be found throughout. The grilled vegetables weren't seasoned and even the onions were bland. The burger itself was just kind of there, not tasting good or bad or like much of anything at all. Btw, acting like the free toppings are a big draw is pretty silly, since most dedicated burger joints in NYC don't charge you extra for basics anyway. The soda machines were grubby and unresponsive. It was like using one of the Metrocard machines in the subway. A few places in Manhattan have these soda machines, and I usually love them, but these were the first ones I've run across that were this bad. I went up to one of them and had to touch the screen repeatedly and quite firmly to get any sort of response out of it, and it kept skipping over screens too fast. OMG. I am in the middle of eating lunch and sheer perfection comes to mind. I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions and jalapenos, lettuce, pickles, mayo and ketchup. I ordered a hot dog with grilled jalapenos, onions, and mushrooms. I ordered a large fries to split. Everything is soooooo good. Abs love 5 guys ! Classic burger and fry joint. Quality of meat is awesome. You get to customize it from a huge selection of toppings. The portion of fries they give you is beyond generous, they give you an extra scoop, may it be regular or large they give it that extra scoop making it a real bang for your Buck ! I am not sure if this location has the Cajun fries, but If they do and you like Cajun, go for it ! It is real authentic Cajun ! Nice and spicy and delicious. This location has the modern soda fountains, which offers an awesome and huge variety of drinks to pick from, which I personally love self service soda fountains, free refills and you can change it up when you feel like it. They also cook their food in peanut oil, because of this, they offer free peanuts, there are 2 or 3 barrels filled with peanuts with a scooper and bowls for you to help yourself with. 5 guys is an absolute bang for your buck. The place is very clean, not a lot of tables but I never had a problem with being able to grab a seat when eating there, perhaps they don't have many tables because they see majority of their customers take the food to go. Anyhow, I think it the only way to have a bad experience here is if the staff were to do so, which I can't see happening because they are sweet pleasant and work and serve you attentively but fast paced, so go here and enjoy !! read more

Great spot to catch up with friends, watch a game, and enjoy good food! The burgers are actually pretty good. I had the classic burger and it was delicious. They have a good selection of beer and it was very affordable. Burgers also range from $13-16, which I think is not bad for NYC standards. The only thing I wish could've been better were the fries.
