I was really excited to try this place when they opened up locally. So this is my review, from a FIRST-TIMER I must say that my daughter and I were disappointed. The pictures look so good on the menu board... but then... you get this small kind of shriveled-up burger on a supermarket bun :( I would describe it like the Chipotle or Subway of Hamburgers. After years of hearing about the big competition between Five Guys and In-N-Out and which has the best burger and fries, I decided to give it a shot after shopping in The Collection. When I first walked in, I thought okay I'll give it a try as it looks like an old hamburger stand with good music playing, then I looked at the floor. It took me a while to realize that the mess could be attributed to the free peanuts and the messy, screaming children. While eating in the place, the employees twice wiped the table and ignored the floor. My girlfriend and I ordered a cheeseburger "all the way", hot dog, large fries and a drink and the total was $22.80 (yikes!), for that total I would expect them to bring it out and give me a tray, not throw it in a bag. My boyfriend and I love this place! We are weekly customers. I use to hate this place until I decided to order differently. I normally hate my burgers being messy & their burgers can get messy when going 'All The Way'. So I get ingredients I truly like in my burgers only. Which is jalapeños, mushrooms, raw onions, and mayonnaise. As for their fries, we order the Cajun fries. And I hate soggy fries so I ask my fries to be well done/crispy. I've read previous reviews and people complain how salty and soggy their fries can be. UPDATE TO EARLIER REVIEW: Have to respond to a few people out there that are calling me a liar. You tell me that I am lying when I say I paid $14.45 for a bacon cheeseburger, fries and drink. So just to show I am not lying and maybe to show you that you ned some remedial math class here goes from your compliments to my review $8.50 bacon cheeseburger $2.50 drink $11.00 total before prepared food sales tax So now add in an order of fries, regular size and the food sales tax and you will come up with $14.45. And I paid with a $20 dollar bill and received $5.55 in change. And also to be fair I went back. Again $14.45 for the same exact order and this time the results were worse. Burger was tasteless and greasy, bacon was not crispy, fries again soggy and cooked in old grease. E biggest problem here is poor management. I feel sorry for the workers that are not properly trained and have to put up with pissed off customers. So to those wanting to criticize me for my reviews learn some basic math skills before you call someone a liar. Burger was tasteful but not worth the $6. My fries came out covered in seasoning to the point that the cup they were placed in was red. Over seasoned fries at $4 that tasted more like a spicy bag of chips that a nice bag of french fries.. Will not eat here again. read more

We went here after seeing them in the same parking lot as the movie theater we were at. Looking them up online made them sound awesome. Here's a breakdown of my bad experience : 1) while in line a couple walks in and cuts right in front of me and my family, found out while waiting for order that the male in this couple works there so they though he need not wait in line with the general public. 2) after spending $80 we were excited to try the burgers when we got home. The way to mark burgers made zero sense, some had numbers while most did not. We had to each open and look at a burger to see if it was what anyone ordered. I am still trying to understand what my dad paid nearly $6 for. He went and got us five guys burgers to try the place out and I am in still in shock on what all the hype is about. 5 Guys. 5 Stars. Don't believe the cheap skates who want restaurant burgers at fast food prices. I should point out before my rant that I LOVE In n Out. It's my favorite burger place... next to Five Guys. How in the WORLD does this place have only 3 stars avg? Are you kidding me? Here's the thing: Yes, 5 guys costs more than In n Out. But you also get WAY MORE FOOD for that and at MUCH higher quality. In n Out: small, thin pattys. Five Guys: Much thicker and bigger pattys. Much juicier too. In n Out: small stringy fries in a small paper boat. Five Guys: better tasting regular fries and AMAZING cajun fries. They fill up a cup with fries for you and then just pour a TON into your bag. you get about 3x more fries than you get at in n out. and like In n Out they are hand cut. In n Out: about 4 choices for toppings for your burger. Five Guys: About 16 choices. All free. I could keep going..... So I will... In n Out: In total, about 8 menu items. Including their "secret menu" Five Guys: about 13 menu items. and their hot dogs are to die for. In n Out: 8 drink choices Five Guys: over 100 drink choices. Any smart eater who cared about their food to money spent ratio would go to Five Guys. Any smart eater who prefers quality would go to Five Guys. Anyway, on to the review. Five guys is more expensive than most places. And for a reason. The burgers you get don't taste like they're churned out franchise burgers like you get from Mcdonald's or In n Out. They taste like home made this juicy burgers. Or like the type of huge cheeseburger you'd buy at the fair. They're nostalgic in a way. I walked in and there was no line, which is very rare for Five Guys. So we ordered fast and paid about $28 bucks for 2 burgers fries and drinks. The food takes a little longer than most places like In n Out or Jack in the box. I guess making better burgers takes more time. We got our food in about 12 minutes. And then I was in heaven. The burger was expertly cooked. The cheese was melting off the burger and my chosen condiments were fresh and tasty. The french fries were from Parkinson Farm in Saint Anthony somewhere back east, as the sign stated that hung in the restaurant. And they were great too. There's not a whole lot to say because it was just so good. We came, we ate, we left. The establishment was clean and the staff very friendly. Five Guys. Five Stars. Pros, Cons, then summary I usually go here with my family PROS--Great food!! The burgers and great, plenty of different options on how you want them cooked, and the free all-you-can-eat peanuts are a nice touch. The drink sizes are fine too. I like the atmosphere, and the workers are pleasant. CONS--Price. It's basically the same price as a "restaurant" burger....it is not fast-food priced. Seating is terrible during peak hours at this location. Cost too much if I bring my family of four....there were many times when I would have come here, but the prices were just too much. Also, they should stay open later, at least for the late-night crowd. They close at 10, and there has been many times I'd prefer to go here after a sporting event, concert, club, etc.... The age-old debate is: 5 Guys or In-N-Out??? Well, for me, it depends. If I just got paid and feel like a burger, and don't want to go to a restaurant, I'd go here.....In-N-Out for all other occasions. Would I go back? Just praying we don't get sick. If we hadn't ordered them to go, we would have taken our entire order back for a refund. The store was packed, but no one in line with us. I hate to say it, but their burger is vastly superior to The Habit. Yes, the Habit has amazing, affordable quality salads but the meat you can't compare to FG. I haven't had one in 3 year, since I was spending time in Westport, CT. But it really is better. Little burger is 570 calories and 4.75. Habit single char is 3.75 and 470 calories. For 100 calories extra and a buck more, you have something approaching a restaurant quality burger. Just excellent. Average. Good quality but for the price I prefer Inn and Out. We spent $25 here for 3 burgers a large fries and one soda. We spend $13 at the other place. It's good, has lots of options an I respect the quality and freshness but the cost it to much for a burger joint. Love the fries though. I'm torn. If probably eat here more if they had more options. My child doesn't like burgers and can't have cheese. So that leaves her with a BLT or hot dog. I personally like salads when available. Another think to note.
