With so many burger places to choose from its always a tough choice. Five Guys is sort of the "steady Eddie". Consistent good food, cooked right, decent service and a little pricey. I keep coming back to Five Guys for the absolutely delicious hand-cut fries. I can't say enough about those delicious sticks of goodness. Take this advice and order the Little size as it will still be enough to feed a family if 4! The cup you see in my photo always overflows into the brown paper bag you receive your order in. I do like the burgers too but ordering through the masks and plastic make it difficult for the cashier to get your order correct. You also cannot see the screen. Womp womp. Total fail today. Hubby and I decided to grab Five Guys today and honestly, it was just not good. Both of our burgers just did not taste good, they lacked flavor and were 100% not worth $20. The employees were friendly but apparently didn't realize we were sitting waiting (not sure how they didn't know...) so our food just sat up on a shelf until I walked over and asked if it was ready. Food was room temperature and we had no napkins in our bag. Went up to counter again and asked for napkins. Anyway, not worth the wait, the money or the time. I don't think you can go wrong with this place, their burgers are delicious, i don't eat fast food that much but when I'm craving a burger this is one of my to go places, fries are really good i don't know if they are cut there it would be great to know or if they come on a bag, but their fries are good. My husband and I have been going to 5 guys for over 10 years. This is the first time we stop by the one on Capital BLVD. in Raleigh. The manager was unbelievably rude to us when we question why our total was so high. The gentleman next to us ordered five burgers and two orders of fries and paid $45. Depending on who you compare them too they are the best fast food burger or an good burger at a decent price compared to higher end places. The fries are my favorite, and they always give you way to many so bring a teenager to bat clean up or something. The fries are my favorite part. I've tried the hot dog a few times, I don't like the way they cook them but that's just a personal preference (split and fried on a flat top) I am more of a grill them over flame and blacken them a bit type or just heat em up on the rollers or hot water. I think they've added milkshakes recently...but I wish they'd come up with decor that was more than just praises of how awesome they are. They're good, but they're not the end all to be all. It has been over 5 years since i went to a Five Guys. I was craving it! I arrived to five guys at 6:29 PM. The "open" sign was lit and when I tried to open the door, it was locked. I called and the gentleman that answered the phone said "our register is down and we can't take online orders. The guy inside the store didn't bother to open the door. Drove all the way out here to get some food (I've never had Five Guys before) just to find that they were not even open. Mind you, I checked Google, Yelp, AND the Five Guys website before leaving to make sure they were open because I know a lot of places are not. They have a sign on the door that is basically unreadable because their logo on the door covers it completely, but from what I could tell, the sign gave no explanation as to why they were closed when even their own website lists them as open. I have come here a few times but today was awful because the guy talking the order was not engaged. Ordered a small cheeseburger all the way and fries with a fountain drink. Got a small cheeseburger no fries not all the way in fact no toppings period. I had to come back to get a drink cup. Store not busy at all no line only one other customer already served and waiting. I've been here multiple times now and have always had a pleasant experience, be it pickup from online orders or dining on location. Walk in and you're greeted by the friendly staff. The menus are well lit and easy to read. After choosing something like a hamburger you have multiple topping choices. Five Guys is a great place if you love a simple burger and fries. There's nothing fancy about what they serve here -- and that's the point! Beware if you're a newbie: the regular burger/cheeseburger comes with TWO patties. The "Little Burger" is in fact what most people would call a regular burger (just one patty). Whichever route you decide to take at Five Guys -- Regular or Little -- you're a winner in my book. The fries are always fresh at this location. I've tried the Cajun seasoning elsewhere, which is not my bag, so I stick to the classic fries. The Cajun wasn't bad. I just prefer regular fries. I recently tried the milkshakes at Five Guys too! They are NOT a diet food, if that's your game, but they do taste good. They're a little more runny than my preference, but that's just me. I got the bacon mix-in which wasn't life-changing as you'd expect. I recommend the coffee or oreo mix-ins (or both!). I usually get mine to-go with some peanuts so I can bring the food home. Call me crazy, but you can't eat fries without ranch. And sadly, Five Guys doesn't have ranch. Regardless, I will gladly return! read more

Where 5 Guys stands out is the huge list of free add ons. I chose grilled mushrooms, onions and peppers. You get two fairly large patties with the standard burger or one with the little burger. The fries are excellent with a generous portion made to order. The small size is more than enough for 2 people. In addition, there is a pile of peanuts available free for the taking in the seating area. The only things that kept me from 5 stars were two things. The buns ended up being pretty much flattened though, I suspect that is inevitable with a burger that ended up being as big a mine. The other comment (which is probably unfair as almost all competitors are the same) is the inability to get anything other than a well done patty. read more

I have never been a huge fan of chains, but this is a chain that works! Five guys makes a great hamburger for a good price. You can really tell they make their patties fresh and that they're not just generic frozen patties. They are also extremely generous with their home-made fries.
