    A lettuce wrapped hamburger
    Janet S.

Five guys is by far the highest charged fast food hamburger. One of the reasons people go there is because it is one of the best. They finally came out of the dark ages and have created a combo deal that makes it slightly cheaper. It makes eating there a bit more affordable.

My niece had a gift card for this place that she received for Christmas. I have eaten at Five Guys at a different location about 10 years ago and this one probably about 4 years ago. This was during the week, so I was hoping this wouldn't take too long to grab dinner. In all the years, I have never seen this place packed or overcrowded. This location seems to be in a pretty good spot if you need to run to Vons or Trader Joe's. Place was pretty empty when we got there, there might have been 3 or 4 parties eating.  There was a good amount of seating available. The menu is pretty simple, they do not have a lot of different options. (burgers, dogs, milkshakes, fries-variation of 'sandwiches with the ingredients they have already) I always expect that if you don't have a big variety, the food you serve better be top notch. (just like In-N-Out, their menu is pretty small and basic, but it sure seems they do just fine making burgers, fries and shakes) Items we ordered: Cheeseburger, let me tell you this was $12.89! No drink included, no fries, nothing else. You can add as many toppings as you like but for that price?!? It was a fairly good size burger, all their meat is fresh and made to order. It came out all hot and melted, you can check out the photos. I also love spots that do grilled mushrooms and grilled onions. Got a large order of regular fries: (if you look at the photo, it is a pretty large cup of fries, which overflows in the brown bag it comes in) The pricetag: $9.59. I got a regular drink which was $3.39. My meal came to $29.26?!?! What in the world? I could have gotten a steak dinner for this price. My niece had a $25 gift card and she was worried she wouldn't have enough money. (I had to give her $2) She also ordered a cheeseburger and regular Cajun fries ($7.29) and a chocolate milkshake. ($6.79) That is pretty steep for a milkshake that comes in a 'regular' size cup. Cheeseburger: 4.5/5 Regular fries: 4/5 Cajun fries: 3.8/5 Milkshake: 3/5 Was the cheeseburger good? Yes. Were the fries good? Yeah. Would I pay for any of this food at this price in the near future? Nope. I can wait another 5 years. So basically a dinner out for 2 people for burgers and fries was $60. Yikes! Oh in case you are hungry while waiting for your food, you can eat salted peanuts in the shell. Service: 4/5 Ambiance:3/5 (just standard dining) Food: 3.8/5

YUM!!! Was in the area so thought I'd stop in for a quick cheeseburger (lettuce wrapped) but had no idea stopping in would brighten my mood because of a happy go lucky cashier. Receipt shows his name as Sonny, how perfect, Sonny made tonight Sunny!! He was patient, friendly, and didn't even mind me changing my order at the very end (yes, I can be indecisive with calories, LOL). Anyway, just wanted to say, COME TO THIS LOCATION! Burger was made perfectly and all my additions and changes were exactly as specified. Here during a busy dinner hour yet the restaurant was clean and organized. Don't forget to grab some peanuts on your way in, though the food is ready quickly.

Little Cheeseburger... it's not so little!!

Let's be honest, prices at this joint have escalated, so I have altered my dining habits. I'll be back, but much less frequently. Small cheeseburger, small fries, and small soda for $21? Both my wife and I can eat at In-n-out for that! Good burger, average teenager service, and overpriced... likely only visiting twice a year now.

This is the second time we came to this location to sit on the patio. So convenient for riding our bikes. But this time we had an incident with these kids harassing us and filming us for their fun. An employee witnessed it and ignored us. I would not consider this a safe place anymore. If they aren't going to keep paying customers safe from this kind of behavior and tell them to buy something or leave the property. Disappointed and disrespectful from this establishment.

When you're hungry and tired but you just want something to take off the hangry...hand cut fries are the best. We all know that five guys had some of the best peanuts and french fries. The only other thing I like in peanut oil is popcorn like what is used in Landmark Cinemas. Sure I could have gone to the store, purchased a bag of potatoes, peanut oil, and hand cut them. But have you seen the portions for medium size fry?! There is no need to eat potatoes every single day, especially for this bod. Most importantly I appreciate that Alexis accommodated us by giving us fresh fries and a smile. "Smiles communicate a common language of benevolence."

Nice location in the Liberty Station area. Plenty of seating indoors and outside. Service was fast and efficient even though they were busy. Watch out for seagulls if you decide to sit outside. Food is the same high quality offerings as other Five Guys locations.

I love the freshness of the burgers here . All the toppings you can add for free, except cheese , what more can anyone ask for ! The cajon seasoning for the fries is always my go to . My tip is order the seasoning on the side so you can season them to perfection your way . I always grab the malt vinegar to dip my cajon fries into . Big fan of the smaller burgers but if you have a hearty appetite go big all the way .

small order of fries instead of the regular that we ordered

Today's experience at five guys made me feel like I was in a cartoon--and not in a good way. All we ordered was one regular fry, for $7.29, no burgers or anything that would take a long time to cook. We ordered at 1:17, and by 1:35 we hadn't heard anything. We asked about our order, to which they said they hadn't even started. Mind you, the restaurant was relatively empty there were only like 8-10 people in the entire restaurant (as pictured), so it's not like they were super busy with other orders. Once we finally received our single order of fries about 30 minutes after ordering, we realized they gave us the "little fry" instead of our order of "regular fries," meaning we paid $7.29 for a much smaller order of fries. After bringing this to the workers attention, they seemed annoyed and reluctantly decided to give us what we paid for. After another 10 minutes of waiting, we received this (see image of brown bag of fries), no apology or sense of feeling bad for the horrible service. They didn't even bother to give us the fries in their regular container, and just threw some loose fries in the bag. In total, we probably didn't even receive the fries you would receive in a regular order of fries, and waited around 40 minutes for what we ordered. I'm not one to leave reviews on places, but this was the worst service i've received at a restaurant ever. Oh yeah, and I added a 10% tip at purchase, but I'm not planning on ever making that mistake again lol.

Yet, it stands out as one of my favorites, and I find myself ordering from them frequently. One of the things you will notice as soon as you approach the place is how clean and net their food truck is. Their menu features burgers, corn dogs, fries, and more, all with a twist and a variety of flavorful options. Among my personal favorites are the Goblin's Club and Jalapeno Popper Corn Dog. The corn dogs are notably large, with a batter that's never oily, always maintaining a tender and flavorful quality. The Animal fries, a perfect side to burgers and corn dogs, are never overly salty, and the generous portions of golden, perfectly cooked fries are a must-try. The Classic Burger and The Jesse Burger are standout choices, boasting substantial sizes with soft and fluffy buns. The sauces and flavors elevate them above your typical burgers - vegan or not. The setup was a simple cart under a canopy in a random parking lot on El Cajon Blvd. A few picnic tables with overhead cover were available if you wanted to eat your food on-site. Five different hot dogs along with french fries and a stuffed jalapeno pepper were offered on the menu. A typical Sonoran hot dog has a bacon-wrapped frank topped with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, and other condiments. It's served on a bolillo bun. The Hot Dog Regular here contained bacon, grilled onion, red onion, tomato, and mayonnaise on a football-shaped bun which made it the closest resemblance to an original Sonoran. I chose two other varieties for my to-go order, a Hot Dog Jumbo and a Hot Dog Chilidogo. The first one had the same ingredients as the Regular with ham and American cheese added. The second one also had the same ingredients as the Regular, however the bacon-wrapped frank was stuffed inside a California pepper with grilled mozzarella cheese on top. Trays of condiments were arranged in front of the cart so you could select additional toppings. Four different sauce bottles were also available for more flavor. As you can see from my photo, both hot dogs were buried under the other components. The right type of bun was used which was very soft. I did feel that a gratuitous amount of mayonnaise was drizzled on top. I didn't add more toppings or sauces because there was already a sufficient spread. I am unsure if there are other businesses in the SD area that serve Sonoran-style hot dogs as I have not actively searched for them. I can say that the products I tasted from Ochidoggy were good enough for a four star rating.
